This guy wrote back to me with a flat fee of $200, which sounded great. When I asked how long he would have the car, he said two hours if no pet hair. I reminded him that there was pet hair, and suddenly the rate became $300. I get that pet hair is a huge pain! I don't mind that he charges $300 for it. What I do mind is that he pretended not to know I had dog hair in the car so he could make me a low offer, then added it on later once he had my attention. I tried to discuss this with him, and he kept telling me to just go to another detailer if I didn't like his price. I was still trying to explain that it wasn't about his price, it was about the way he lowballed me up front only to raise the price later. He never acknowledged this and just kept arguing about how fair his price is. Either he's not smart enough to understand my point or he's too shady to admit he did something wrong. Either way, I can see why so many of these reviews badmouth this guy.

Without hesitation, the employees and the owner rushed over, moved the cones, and guided me into the oil change center. They quickly diagnosed the problem: my coolant line had completely broken, and all of my antifreeze had leaked out. At that moment, I could have been vulnerable to being overcharged for a repair I knew nothing about. Instead, the owner went above and beyond--personally driving to Napa twice and even trying the Dodge dealership to find the right part. He was upfront about the price (around $200) and even apologized for the cost, though it was completely out of his control. His care reminded me of how my dad or grandpa would have looked after me--genuine, protective, and trustworthy. Because of his quick action, my engine was saved from what could have been devastating damage. He got me back on the road with a very reasonable bill, and I left feeling both relieved and grateful. I even tipped because I felt guilty it wasn't more for the time and effort they put into fixing my beloved Journey (or the "Ourney," since the J fell off!). All the owner asked in return was my continued business--which he now has for life. In a world where service like this is so rare, Marketview Lube is a shining example of kindness, integrity, and heart. I left feeling safe, cared for, and thankful to have been in exactly the right place at the right time.

Below is the story- On April 11, 2026 I went to the Champaign location on Neil Street. I was motioned in and put my car in 'N' Neutral. I ALWAYS double check my gear. As I was approaching the dryers my truck started to go backwards! I looked down to see my gear shift and my truck was still in neutral! So I honked my horn several times, my truck then stopped as a guy came out and he got in front of my truck and looked down. He then pressed a button and I went forward and out of the car wash while still in the same gear I was in when all of this happened! SO OBVIOUSLY I was in neutral! I then parked to dry off my truck. The same man came out and said we looked at the cameras and you were in reverse because your backing lights were on the whole time! THIS IS A RIDICULOUS STATEMENT! IF I was in reverse the whole time why didn't someone notice it? Why did my truck go forward as soon as he pressed the button? Why didn't the guy who washed the back of my truck notice my backing lights were on? Thank God no one was behind me. After I got home and thought about this, I called to ask for the video of my truck being 'in reverse the whole time' so I can take it to my car dealership and have them look into it! The guy stammered and said oh I will have to check into it and get back to you. This was several hours ago. I called back and no answer. I left a message. Nothing. Very, very poor customer service! I canceled my membership and asked for a refund via the website.
