Today I decided to give Rainstorm my final try of service after using this car wash for over 10+ years. I asked the gentlemen at the pay booth if the interior clean for $28 does a good job. I also inquired asking if it included washing the seats, cup holders, trim and floors? His response, "Um kinda, they do an okay job inside and wash for only 5 minutes...." I still proceeded with the $28 wash and was once again left with a dirty vehicle. Dust, crums, trim uncleaned, dashboard disgusting, door handles not washed, and the cup holders still dirty. I still tipped the teenager and didn't put up a fuss. However, I'll never come back here again. Look at the photos and tell me if this is worth $28? read more

Man, I should have checked Yelp first. Got the lightning package for 32$ or something and my car still came out dusty. Okay cool, I can scrub it down with the towels left out for us. Nice touch. What I can't stand is the bees. There are so many bees by the vacuums! They got in my car and were all over the place. Holy shit. This is problem waiting to happen esp for someone whose allergic to bee stings. Please take care of the damn bees so we can vacuum without getting stung! We come here frequently. The quality of service is not wow, but it's close to us. Today, like always!, we entered the carwash area and after few seconds, the person who is in the picture started yelling and saying "what the f**k"! Then she left and went to the office room, took off her earbuds, and kept yelling. My husband and I are shocked and do not understand what is going on. Then she came back and yelled: go back, go back. We don't know what's going on, but we went back and came inside again. Still don't understand why she yelled and used F word! Again she acts like a maniac and yells! Used the F word again. My husband rolls down the window to see what's happening. She keeps yelling "put it in neutral". My husband said that's what I did, and I do it EVERY TIME we come here! It's in neutral! She then went and pushed the start button and things start working! Highly overpriced I paid 25 dollars for the deluxe wash and a ceramic finish (there's a "better" wash for even more). First off when it gives you change back it's all in 1's. It gave me back 15 dollars in 1's. Second off the wash takes about 20 seconds and when it came out, it looked about the same. They rush you through the wash so that more people are able to come in, and it doesn't fully wash your car. No wonder why the reviews on this place are terrible. read more

Don't waste your money on this place. When they started out in business, it was pretty good. Then the prices went up and the services went down. They use to prewash the windshield and back window for you - now they have a "Bug Prep Station" so you can do it yourself -- that is, if the "Bug Prep Station" in out in the bug prep area, which usually it's not. Then there's the soap left on your car, then there's the attendants. They use to be helpful, friendly and polite. But not anymore. Then there's the vacuum area without suction most of the time. This place is great and if you've lived in champaign for a while, you owe it to yourself to stop going to car washes that have been robbing you with their $15 washes. Here are the reasons and as always, just my opinion so hopefully you'll find it helpful: 1. First place in Champaign that offered unlimited monthly wash, 3 levels: $25, $35, $45. 2. Nice employees if you actually need to talk to them about something but most of the time, you just look at their hand motions guiding you. Watch out for one of the guys (sorry can't describe him well) because he just tells you to keep going without watching if you're actually aligned with the railing lol 3. Great hours but could be better if on select days they stayed open longer or opened earlier. 4. This carwash was nice, once, when it opened. Now, it's incredibly pricy, lowest wash cost being $8 and midrange being $16, and it sucks. The "wash" lasted no more than a couple of minutes, didn't get anything off dirt wise and left soap on my car! This is after I payed the $16 price; I was expecting so much more and was gravely disappointed. I purchased a fast pass in 2017 and the first year was pretty good. The price was reasonable 19.95/mo for the basic. My car never really got super clean, but you get what you pay for. When I renewed my membership in 2018 it went downhill. The prices went up, but less gets done. They don't even scrub your car anymore. The car wash constantly opens late and it closes early. Half the time, when it is open, the brushes don't work. My car is never clean and always left with an orange residue if I don't hand dry it. For $32 a month, I should be able to use the wash and come out with a clean car, neither of which seems to be possible. read more

I went to this place twice. Living in California had made me so used to "clean" cars. I drive through the I74 everyday to work and had bugs and debris stick to my car. Looking at the reviews and ratings, also, its proximity to my apartment, I came here and bought the Rainstorm package. Honestly, I wasn't that satisfied. My car was still wet when it came out and my tires were still full of dirt and debris. I had to wipe them down myself to get it out. But I thought, maybe it's just too dirty. And so, I went in the 2nd time a few weeks later. This time, my car was much cleaner due to the heavy rain. I can't remember which package I got, but this time, I was very very disappointed with the attendant. He kept asking me to move forward without looking at me and I had to adjust the car myself because I realized my car was not aligned. Also, when he sprayed those foam at my car, really? He barely covered half of the car. My front windshield was covered but not my rear glass and side windows. really? all you have to do is spray and you did such a bad job. Luckily, like I said, my car wasn't that dirty and all I had to do was to wipe down some water that still cling to my windshields. But then, I am not the type of person who is very picky when it comes to cars. If you were, I would suggest for you to give it a try and judge for yourself. The reason I'm writing this is because, I will be going in again after 3 months. Given the price, this car wash offers one of the most valuable packages. I went to the Rainstorm car wash in Bourbonnais, and who's listing is no where to be found on Yelp. I went on the Saturday after the polar vortex and the touch screen computer was not working properly. I was charged $18 dollars for two car washes and was unable to pay for just one...and I live 2 hours away so I won't use it in 30 days. I tried calling the number on my receipt but it has been disconnected 815-932-4448. I looked up the website and Bourbonnais is not listed as one of their sites...and the car wash switched owners at least 3 months ago. I didn't get very good directions to guide me into alignment and after being waved back and forth 3 or 4 times, I ended up breaking my passenger side mirror off! Then i got a wash that left dirt streaked on the side of my van. Stay in the outside lane so you can be sure to head directly forward for alignment, the inside lane is a tight turn. UPDATE--Rainstorm car wash has taken responsibility for the damage--so I've upgraded their score for that. read more

I paid for a car wash that guaranteed a cleaned car for 5 days... inwhich im like ya ok...sounds too good to be true probably is right...but atleast i could get the car cleaned right. Well i get out and find that the hood of my car now has chips in the paint and my car was still dirty flies in the grill dirt on the hood and both sides and everything... so i find an attendant who i can say was nice and understanding helped my file the complaint he offered to let me run it through once again but you know at this point i dont want the damage to my car since obviously there is problem. Do not go to this car wash if you value your cars wheels. The miscreants who direct you to the apparatus that pulls your car through the carwash seldom get it right. This results in the car being abruptly pulled over in order to be aligned properly and inevitable wheel damage. I went there only 4 times and after stopping in the detail area realized I had a nice chip in the left front rim due to the carwash. I filed a claim via "the manager" on his cell phone and was told I would hear something within 2 days. It has now been 9 days and No response. What's more, while I was in the detail area I saw another driver I knew who asked me about my damage. She said her car had been run into by the car behind her a month ago and she had sent several emails with no response. Next, I went home and checked out my wife's car. You see, she has the 19.95 per month unlimited wash deal. Both of her drivers side rims, front and back were damaged. These are brand new cars. If you use this business, check your rims. Quick wash, good service from the attendant, and plenty of free vacuums to use. It would be nice to have a little more suction and a narrower nozzle option on the vacuum system. However, my car is cleaner than it has been in months, so the convenience is a win. I am going to try out a month of fastpass. I went to Rainstorm a time or two and thought it was great. I loved their setup where you could vacuum your car for free and they even had a place to hang your mats. Then the last time I went, I noticed after a few days that the topcoat of paint was coming off of my car in places. Almost like some chemical had bleached it as my car is yellow and where the paint was gone, it was white. I wasn't sure if it was the carwash or not so I went back again today (several months later) and got their most expensive wash, plus took their offer to get the same wash next time for 1/2 off. I thougth that was a good deal. I went through the wash and then went to go vacuum out the inside and noticed that not only was my car not clean in many spots, another spot of removed paint appeared. I went in and asked for a refund for at least the future wash I purchased and they were nice and gave me a full refund for both. I was surprised they didn't ask to see it. read more
