This is my go-to cafe in Glenview. The owners are exceedingly nice and remember your name. The coffee drinks are well-made, and the Iced Cappuccino is my favorite anywhere. There are outside and indoor seating options, and dogs are welcome outside. I used to come here often as my son loves their hot chocolate. We hadn't been in a year but today I was in the neighborhood and decided to get some tea and the breakfast sandwich. I'm very picky about tea, I'm a loose leaf tea person so I don't use bagged tea. They had a Republic of Tea White Tea that I tried. It was good for a bagged tea. I do appreciate that they have gluten-free bread for their sandwiches at no extra cost. I've had a couple of frustrating experiences in the past, which is why it's been a year. But, today was good. Wanted to grab a quick lunch after a soccer game in Oakland area, this was the first sandwich place showed up in the search. It was close to 2.30. I ordered on yelp - Caprese Sandwich, Eggplant Sandwich, Hot Chocolate and a Latte. By the time we reached, they were about to close; but they were working on my order. Unfortunately they ran out of eggplant and cancelled that item. I noticed there was only one sandwich when they gave the handed over the items. They were kind enough to take another order and get me a Hummus Sandwich. The sandwiches were damn good. The Caprese Sandwich was exactly what I expected. The fresh mozzarellas with pesto sauce and vinaigrette, made it really delicious. Not the best hummus sandwich, but it was good too. The unique flavor to the sandwiches was something that stood out. The latte was decent, but the hot-chocolate was terrific! It's not costly either - very much reasonable pricing as well. It was a good decision to go for the first one showed up on the list. Best part was their service. Family owned spot - they were really friendly and nice. Realizing that we are not from the Oakland area, they were quite talkative about the neighborhood and their place. Really enjoyed the time we spent there. They have plenty of indoor seating, patio and a few seats outside as well. Only street parking is available, that too on a busy part of the strip. We were lucky to find one right in front of the shop. Great experience. Will definitely come back here if we are in that neighborhood again. Recommended. read more

A letter to the man who always takes my order- Your BLTs are sublime. Every time I take a bite into that sliced sourdough sandwich, I'm taken to a world where soggy bacon has never existed. To quote The Postal Service's 'Such Great Heights,' I'm thankful, "That god himself did make this BLT and I (sic) into corresponding shapes." Obviously, if this were not a special place, I wouldn't have spent so much time patronizing this establishment. Yes, the coffee drinks and food is wonderful as already stated in so many reviews by others. What make this place so special for me are the people. Hort, Lisa, Seng, Ana and the entire crew. As the song says, "it's nice to go where everybody knows your name!" Also, it's a place where community is developed and friendships are formed. One of my fav spots! Great for breakfast, lunch, drinks/lounging. Sandwiches, salads, smoothies and other drinks are on point! The couple(?) that own the place and work the counter are lovely people. My favorite part might be the Paris cafe style tables out front under the adjustable awning... always the perfect amount of shade and sun and can relax and watch the world go by. Too bad it's looking out over the super highway that is Park Blvd. instead of an esplanade. But, there are people out and about and it's a nice enough scene. Bathroom is always clean and stocked and available. Lots of good enough pastry options but that is one area that has room for improvement... they could up their pastry game. Food I got today: Egg/bacon/cheese on English muffin, turkey/Swiss/avocado/spinach/cilantro/mayo/mustard on ciabatta, and a berry smoothie (banana, strawberries, blueberries, OJ). I really like this coffee shop. They have great pastries and the sandwiches are delicious. I had a Chai Latte each time I went. The cookies are delicious. My husband enjoyed his sandwich each time. It has a nice seating area. You can relax and look out the window. I really like that it's independently owned. The only thing I think they can improve on is that the tables and chairs were a little sticky. If they could keep it cleaner, I'd give it five stars. read more

Ordered breakfast via Uber eats. One of the stars is for the prompt and efficient delivery, which alone would merit 5 stars. Driver was excellent. Food? MEDIOCRE through and through, and in a few cases, inedible. *Omelette breakfast sandwich: croissant choice of bread w/ sausage. This was bland, sadly under seasoned, and soggy. The croissant had no right to parade around with that name. It was a soft and soggy roll, and to add insult to injury, under/baked. *Easily one of the worst avocado smoothies I've had. Why offer something like that and not do it right? Synthetic and powder based... with mere whisper of fresh avo. Don't do it. *Breakfast burrito? Hard thing to mess up, but here we are. Not only was this also just as bland as the breakfast sandwich, it also tasted of old oil and raw onions (which I love, but we're not featured on this burrito... it was... disruptive hahahha) *One star for the lox sandwich... aka the only edible thing I ordered. Decently stuffed, decent ingredients... only qualm here is I ordered an everything bagel and got a plain (and slightly stale) donut instead. The actually lox quality and stuffing were what carried this item. Bagel was below meh. Great little coffee shop and excellent service. The line gets long but it moves fast! Came here with a group of friends who highly recommends this place. There are seating options inside as well as outside. Some are tables with chairs and others have tables and couches. The first day I went I ordered a biscuit with bacon, egg and turkey. I added a small yogurt parfait and later went back for a dirty chai latte with only one shot of espresso to wake up a bit. The food was delicious and the yogurt parfait was very refreshing in the morning! It can get hard to find seating after a while. The following day, I went back with friends and I had to try their açaí bowl. It was one of the best bowls I have tasted in a while and very happy with my choice. I plan to stop by this place if I am near Oakland for their delicious food! Parking was not a hassle on a Sunday morning (around 8:45am) and the staff members were very courteous and friendly patiently waiting while I decided on my order. Rating reflects their pastries, bagels, and iced coffee. Overpriced across the board especially since they're all stale. The bagel tasted like it was from trader joes. Frequently has signs up for unavailable pastries and it's difficult to communicate w the staff. This is definitely one of those cafes that is supported by a neighborhood and survived just because it's there and there's no great alternative options.
