Their system sent notifications letting me know when they were on their way and estimate arrival time. They surveyed, and immediately quoted the work. They did not try to overall sell me they understood the situation. Fixed some cracking in the mortar on top of the Chimney, as noted by inspector and installed new Chimney cap. I am happy to recommend Ultimate Chimney Sweep! I called the company to request an estimate on repointing our chimney. Mark came exactly when he said he would, inspected the chimney and gave us an estimate for each repair that could be done. After calling several other companies (two chimney companies who wanted to charge for an inspection and several masons who never returned my calls) I called to make an appointment for rebuilding the chimney from the roofline, repairing the shoulder, and installing a cap. Called in the morning... midweek - as we were selling and sold our home subsequently-and they scheduled a guy to come out the next day. So their response to you, and their flexibility are on point. They were very efficient... and friendly as well- which always is a plus. Asked if we desired the wood stove in the basement to be looked at and cleaned too, but after inspection said it was ok. So they don't take you for a ride - if they know you don't require the actual service/work. Gave us tips on how to keep up with the chimneys and overall told us what they would recommend if we were staying at that property-which we weren't - but they were very pleasant with their suggestions and not overbearing. Moved into our house a couple years ago and have yet to use the fireplace, so I know we needed it inspected (as well as adding a cap). Called up Ultimate on a Thursday and they were able to come out on the following Tuesday. Service team (Mark & sorry I forget the other guy's name) was great. Jeff initially came out to inspect our chimney and found that there were drafting issues that were pretty unsafe. He was able to call the office to schedule their next available time which he thought would be the beginning of next week. Instead he was able to do it same day! Mark showed up and they got to work for a few hours and completely rebuilt the lining of the chimney, working into the night. They were awesome, cleaned up and hauled out the brick and mortar they knocked down for access and any mess they made. The best part was they were extremely knowledgable and patient in answering any questions I had. Did not go a dollar over the price they quoted me either. Was a repeat customer and Ultimate Chimney Sweeps cleaned the wrong fireplace (that never gets used and didn't need a cleaning) in my house. Not a big deal, if they admitted the error and offered to come back and clean the fireplace that needed it instead of cleaning the one that didn't. But no, they blamed the error on me (who wasn't in the house at the time of the cleaning) and refused to come back to fix the problem after being paid. Completely unacceptable. I was able to book an appointment quickly for my preferred time and everything was explained thoroughly during and after the inspection. It was helpful that he showed me pictures of the inside of the chimney and the outside on the roof while explaining. The inspector was polite and wore a mask. There was no pushing to get any of the work done even though my chimney clearly needs a lot done in order to function. I felt trusting of the inspection done and they didn't do a cleaning as my chimney didn't need one even though they easily could have (and charged more) as I was expecting them to do it. Very disappointed with this company. Technician Jeff actually broke a part of the damper off in our chimney and never told us. We only discovered the problem when starting a fire and our house filled with smoke. He was trying to sell us anything he could and photos proved nothing. Had ultimate chimney sweep come to my house they clean 2 of my chimneys. They completed the job and when they gave me the bill it was twice the price they had told me on the phone. They then told me one of my sleeves in my chimney was bad and gave me a quote price of 7000. I had another guy come to look at it and they said nothing was wrong with it. these people's are crooks!!!!never use them!!!!! read more

I agree with the previous review that the technician was professional. However, the tech was unable to complete the job due to an issue he encountered . After calling his supervisor, he told me he could do something that day, but I would need to call the company to send another tech to finish the work. I understand things happen, so I did not have a problem with having a second visit. I asked him if I would have to pay extra, and he told me, "No [because] it's a free estimate." When I called the company that same afternoon, a woman told me the tech wasn't back with my paperwork, so she would call me back. She didn't. The following week I called the company again. This time the woman I spoke to was argumentative, told me I would have to pay again to have a second visit, and she didn't want to hear anything I told her, repeating, "We don't do that." I wasn't asking for a second visit to do everything all over again, I just wanted someone to come back to the property to finish THE ORIGINAL JOB THAT WAS NOT COMPLETED! Frustrated, I asked to speak to a supervisor. A second woman came to the phone, and I explained my situation to her. She asked for some information and said she would talk to the tech. She also took my phone number and told me she would call me back. As of today, no one has called me back regarding my unfinished chimney inspection. This is very frustrating, and considering the tech was bragging that the company has 30 service trucks out in the field, I would think this would not be such an issue. I hope to be able to update this review with more positive information, but for now, I will not rehire this company, nor will I recommend them to anyone. read more

They cleaned my chimney very professionally and told us that we needed additional work done. I called and scheduled the work and then they called and the office lady was horribly rude and said that they couldn't do it anymore. I asked when she thought they could and she said she didnt know and maybe call back in the spring. Never apologized or explained more simply that they could no longer do it. Ultimate Chimney Sweep is a terrible company. They caused damage to my stove and the surrounding granite and refused to claim any responsibility. After a routine cleaning they informed me that the cap was not up to code. Over $500 later, the vent pipe was leaking hot tar water during a rain storm. The company reluctantly sent someone and they did another cleaning and said the pipe was installed incorrectly. He indicated that since it was a Saturday he could not replace the pipe and no one was in the office to authorize. After repeatedly contacting Jenny and requesting to speak to the owner Tom I was refused!! They will not handle the damage they caused which is in upwards of $800. I have great concern every time I use the stove that it is unsafe. read more

There's an old saying - You get what you pay for - that is certainly true here. I needed smoke-tite applied to the smoke chamber in my fireplace. I called a chimney guy in Hanson and did not go with him because his price went up almost $90 from the previous year. I found Ultimate Chimney and they quoted me a really low price so I went with them. They came out two days later and did the work. Before applying the smoke-tite, he told me he had to clean the chimney, which took him about 10 minutes. I asked why it had to be cleaned and he said smoke-tite will only adhere to the surface of the smoke chamber if it's clean. So I agreed to pay for the cleaning. After the smoke-tite was applied, I was told to wait 2 days before using the fireplace. To be cautious, I waited 4 days and then used it twice. The third time I used it, a large (4"x 5") chunk and several small pieces of smote-tite fell into the fireplace when I closed the flue. This was when I called Ultimate Chimney for help. During my first call on a Monday, I was told that the incident would be given to the manager for review and he would call me back within 24 hours. By that Friday (the Friday before Thanksgiving) I still had not heard from anyone so I called back and was told that all of the technicians were busy fixing carbon monoxide problems for customers. Funny, I hadn't heard that there was a CM outbreak in our area. I was again told that the manager would call me back and I was assured that someone would be out before Thanksgiving, which proved to be a lie. My third call was on the Friday after Thanksgiving to talk to the manager. I was told that the manager was "not available" but that the message would be passed on and I would be contacted as soon as possible. It's the following Tuesday and still no call. As far as I'm concerned, these people did a terrible job - probably not cleaning the chimney properly - and now they do not want to take responsibility for bad work or service. I paid them nearly $1,000 and now I cannot use my fireplace which I use for heat in the fall/winter. They basically have stolen my money and I am left without a fireplace and will probably have to call a reputable guy to fix their shoddy work, costing me even more money at the worst time of the year. Bottom line - STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE. There are much better companies out there who will not rip you off and will do better work. I just wish I had gone with one of them. read more

We contacted the East Weymouth office. The service was great. The technician was professional, efficient and tidy. He cleaned our wood stove pipe...pulled out one huge bird nest. He also replaced our chimney cap to prevent more nesting. The price was fair. He gave us a list of other things, along with prices that he could do for us if the need arose. My story is eerily similar to the one in a prior review. I hired Ultimate Chimney Sweep to clean my chimney. AFTER cleaning the chimney, the tech gave me a list of problems that "needed to be fixed", including rebuilding the chimney and installing a steel liner. I paid to have the chimney cleaned, but was THEN told that it would be dangerous to use the chimney before having these repair. If I were going to have the chimney rebuilt, why would I bother having it cleaned? I'm going to reach out to another company for an estimate on repairs, since I no longer trust this company given my experience and some of the other reviews. Technician was professional. I hired them to clean the chimney. I suppose they did clean the chimney. He did an inspection and came up with over $4,500 in required repairs. Many of these were obviously completely unnecessary. The sales tactic was designed to scare me. Luckily, I know more about homes than most home owners do and realized that he was selling me a load of BS. I was able to repair my chimney for $600 and had it re-inspected by another company who gave me a clean bill of health. I will not be using this company again. read more
