I'm not one to gush, but honestly I had an outstanding experience with Asphalt Engineering. I hired the company to expand my driveway in size from a two-car to a four-car. The workers were incredibily professional and friendly, offering to answer any questions along the process. It took two days -- one day to prep and one day to pave. They were meticulous in the paving process. When done, my driveway looked absolutely smooth and perfect. The other compliment I need to offer is to the office workers, who were courteous and flexible. Of course, there was the ever-present, "If you get it done on this date a few days from now we'll give you a discount because we're in the area," but I didn't feel any extraordinary pressure to do that. They were also sans pressure on payment. While you have to pay 50% upfront and the balance on completion, I was awaiting a bank transfer and so asked for some leeway, and they immediately replied, "No problem." I found everything about the company praise worthy. I highly recommend them.

Pump we had to buy to clear water from our driveway that now floods.

We had Asphalt Engineering install a new driveway for us back in the Spring/Summer of 2023. They had great reviews, were recommended from a couple people close to us, and came in $1700 under what a competitor was charging, so we went with them. Big mistake. Our driveway never flooded in this one corner before, but now it floods every time it rains. When we initially told the company owner about this, they had someone come test it and they couldn't replicate the flooding problem. Well, our driveway most certainly floods and the specific corner that floods is very close to our house's foundation. Thankfully we haven't really seen a lot of snow since 2023, but fast forward to last night, 2/16/2025, when we get several inches of snow and hours of rain that follows...the flooding in that corner of the driveway is worse than we've ever seen it AND the water is now making its way up our walkway and underneath the composite steps just in front of the house. My husband had to run out to grab a pump, extension cord, and hose to help draw some of the water away from our house, along with shoveling heavy snow away from that area and bringing it closer to the road so not as much could melt next to our house. It's great having to spend even more money on the driveway and lose hours of sleep thinking that you're going to wake up to water in your basement. This company has a lot of 5 star reviews on Google, but beware because not all of the customers they've served are happy with the outcome. Over 2 years later and we're still dealing with this headache. The old driveway we had did not pool water like this, and while Asphalt Engineering did offer to come and build a trench in our yard to help with water runoff...we don't want a trench in our already tiny yard, we just wanted the job done right so that we didn't have to deal with water pooling in the first place. Another problem popped up this past summer (2024). Grass was poking through the asphalt, a few inches away from the edge of the driveway. We called the company and told them about it, and they sent a team to burn the grass that was popping through and did some patching, but again, fixing a problem that shouldn't be happening after one year with a new driveway. Lesson learned, the cheaper option is most definitely not always the best option. We'll continue to share any additional issues that may occur with this driveway, as this is now an ongoing headache for us that we'd like to warn others about.

Street view where the Town applied the transition - this is how it is done the right way.

Leaving our lot like this for over a month is just unacceptable. The Town is paving the street and they did the transition as they should. Asphalt engineering could learn from them how it's done. And on top of that they are not planning to be back for another 2 weeks at least. Stay away don't hire this unprofessional company .

Perfect job done . Pitch was correct and I followed directions as instructed : no issues! Premium job and even negotiated the price!

Throughout the process they were always in contact. They worked with me in expanding the driveway. They were polite, priced competitively and were amazing in responding quickly - on their final prep for work they made last minute changes I asked for - and they were nice about it! Thank you

Jose came out and gave us an estimate that included burying the downspouts to avoid water dumping on the new patio. He was prompt, communicative, and gave us an estimate in a few days. We scheduled them to come the following week. He and his brother showed up right on time, and promptly began digging things out. I was impressed with what they were able to do in a single day. Because rain was in the forecast, they were flexible on coming back a second day to screed the final paver base. It rained particularly hard and it became clear that there was an issue somewhere. When they came back a few days later, I pointed it out to Jose and he promptly dug out the spot and ensured it was properly filled in and compacted. They finished the job and cleaned up. After the first day, they left the site relatively clean (considering they knew they'd be back). Overall, I would 100% recommend these guys and would love to have them back to do additional projects at our home. They were responsible, competitively priced, and wanted to ensure things were done right.

Jose provided prompt and professional communication, a cost-competitive estimate and quick professional work on site. Their estimate gave me a few options, depending upon my budget. The end result looks great and my neighbors all compliment the "face lift" it has given our front yard. I would recommend Dardah for similar work, without hesitation.

Because we…read morewere not satisfied and were charged over $500 for work not done, my husband and I gave this business a bad google review. (After requesting a refund that was refused). Unfortunately, when you own a business you get good and sometimes bad reviews. The owner was so mad at the review, and that my husband voiced his frustration on his personal social media, she contacted his employer through facebook. She harassed his employer continuously to let her know her feelings about my husband's character and that she wouldn't support her business because of his involvement. She was literally trying to get him fired for bad reviews. I owned a business for 10 years. I got a couple bad reviews along the way about employees work and had requests for refunds. I did so willingly because the customer satisfaction outweighed my ego. I would NEVER call a clients employer after they left a bad review to voice my personal opinion of them. It's absolutely insane that the owner took this route instead of just refunding the money. The owner did offer to have someone else come to do the work but our trust in the company had been diminished. We wanted a second opinion and got one. That's also the prerogative of the customer.

I gave the tech a knee brace I had that was custom made for me when I tore my ACL/MCL and cost over $4,000 because I felt so bad for him. Chimney sweep still charged my card that I had given them to book the appointment for no services rendered. They offered to come back and "re-do" work that was never done and the owner admitted as much in writing, but at this point the way they spoke to me on the phone, wanting to bring back the injured tech basically to shame him in front of a customer and even told me if there were no brush marks in the chimney he is fired, I don't want anything to do with your company. They told me my fireplace needed a new liner amongst other things and was not usable so why would you charge me to clean it? They also charged me for an oil flue cleaning and I didn't notice this till a few days later but there is a giant tag on it that says it was cleaned on 1/6/26 by the woman we bought the house from (just closed on it weeks ago). I have confirmed the cleaning with the company that services the oil burner and they are sending me the paperwork confirming this. They quoted me a price of almost $10,000 for repairs verbally but never sent the estimate. I also had 2 chimney companies come in for repair estimates and they both confirmed (in writing) no cleaning was done here and I had company that day and they can confirm no vacuum was ever run and no cleaning ever happened. I was told my dryer vent would be cleaned for free on the phone and they wanted over $100 to clean it the day of. With all this they refuse to refund the money they charged me. This is unethical business at its finest. The pic of the cleaning door shows its rusted shut and was never opened.
