What a great time I had in this store, and I was there for only 10 minutes, maybe less than that. I walked in and asked someone about the ordinary section, a girl who was working the floor told me where to go but then took me there herself, very helpful. While I was looking at the acids and serums I was some sort of confused and apparently my face said it all... two males, who seemed to be beauty specialist, approached me and asked if I needed anything and I immediately started shooting questions. They provided suggestions and instructions on how to use what I got. I loved the ambiance and atmosphere at this store, everyone was so helpful and seemed happy to be working here. Terrible experience, not only are they lacking in stock, the employees are incredibly rude, security is uncomfortable and it ruins the shopping experience. I came in alone to grab a quick holiday gift for a friend and nothing that I asked for was in stock and I began to look around for other options when a security guard came up behind me and was hovering over me. He brushed past me even though there was more than enough space and it felt very racially charged since there were many other White shoppers in store, even new people entering the store but he chose to follow me around. My father came in and gently faced the man who made me uncomfortable and we left. Went in there today around 5:30/6pm the store was very busy but I went to repurchase a too faced concealer, in and out job. They unfortunately didn't have my shade to my liking but once I went looking for help employees were just standing around talking or helping the cash register. After checking out I saw that the miu miu fragrance was in stock however there wasn't a tester so I could smell it. I saw an employee walking to the front and I said "excuse me" as to which she ignored me & I said "excuse me" again to which she looked me up and down, motioned to the bag in her hand which I assume was her personal bag? to get me to understand that she was maybe leaving? Just distasteful & rude. And then she continued to ignore me. I completely understand being in a rush to go home after work but a simple "yes, this employee right here will be able to help you" or "I'm sorry I can't help you but here's who can". I am beyond thrill on how my hair and makeup came out. For both I made appointments a prior month. My event was my brothers wedding so I wanted a nice glam look, but more to settle side. For the hair salon I just wanted a blowout/style Noemi did an outstanding job. I showed her a few pics of what I wanted and she delivered 100% very professional, friendly and kind. She made sure to keep me on schedule for my makeup. I then moved for my makeup which was with M.A.C. cosmetics and Froilan was amazing. I showed him a picture of my dress and we worked together on my look. He listen and delivered 100%, very professional, friendly, honest and kind. Both make up and hair style last all day and night (11am and party ended 12am, this was with all the dancing and eating). I did purchased the a few products for quick touch up. 100% recommend Noemi for hair and Froilan for makeup. read more

The worst customer service, and by the looks of the other reviews a terrible staff in GENERAL. I had the experience of a woman who claimed to "work" at the store but had no name tag, who proceeded to ask if I was buying the nail polish i had used on one nail, which I WAS, and after I thought the conversation was over I could feel her staring even still after we walked away to see what we were doing and i decided to be the bigger person and walk away after she made us uncomfortable.That wouldn't have been a problem/ big deal until a second person came up afterwards to repeat what the lady had said and implied that we weren't truly buying the products by reaching out so they can "damage" it even after I said I was paying for them. I asked the second employee where the testers were and she told us we can paint it on the plastic part where multiple people have touched it. Afterwards i noticed a different woman staring at us, only 3 feet away, pretending to look busy with the products on the shelf but continuing to glance at us and what we were doing and I saw that it was ANOTHER employee by her name tag. I decided after that I wasn't going to buy them, because why am I about to be treated like a criminal over 2 dingy nail polishes. The store Nextdoor bath and body works had amazing customer service and no surprise, testers. Ulta needs to take notes instead of giving job opportunities to people who aren't fit for them. read more

I had my first appointment with Susanne who is an Elite stylist and she was the best. I went to fix my my blonde hair and it was great!! And when I went for a root touch up total blonde she recommended I go ash and it was even better. She is very knowledgeable and on time. The products she used were great. This Ulta is awful!!!!! They closed the bay plaza so I'm forced to come here if I actually need to come to the store. I bought foundation recently but lost the box so I called the store before wasting my time and gas coming over here. They said they would exchange the product for credit as long as I had the receipt and it wasn't used to a certain extent. I go, shop for whatever I'm going to exchange it for and check out. The manager tells me they won't exchange the product cause they don't carry it in the store. Now that's information that should of been given on the phone before and what does it matter? Are they going to resell a used foundation? She then says she can take it and give me a credit slip it. If she can do that then there's no reason when she couldn't do my exchange in the first place. Now I still have to waste more of my valuable time and gas money to go to an even further location. Every time I come here there's a problem. The store is always filthy. The makeup removal stations are never stocked and are too filthy. The store is unorganized, they are always out of the products in any brown tones and everything popular. It's just always ransacked. This location needs a facelift. Better yet just close it. If you're reading just shop at Sephora and you won't have these issues. read more

Horrible experience. Harper, one of the cashier has a HORRIBLE attitude. I accidentally knocked down one of the displays with my large shopping bags and was going to the next available cashier to leave my bags down to pick it up and overheads her say "oh they just gunna act like she didn't knock it down" I answered saying I'm doing it right now. One of the other cashiers asked if I needed help but as I'm already doing it. After I proceeded to check out all of the other cashiers including Harper were talking badly about another employee of theirs. This review is about the employees and not the merchandise. The sales associates for the most part like to ignore the presence of certain customers. When you visit here, don't expect the sales associates on the shop floor to help you. They certainly won't go out of their way to enquire whether you need assistance. They actually avoid making eye contact with customers......just incase you ask them something. God forbid they do what their paid to do and actually help customers. Good customer service is obviously asking way too much of them. Additionally, the presence of security guards is most evident.....obviously shop lifting is problematic at this location. That said, the security guards are way friendlier and nicer than the staff on the shop floor. The management should train the security guards to provide advice on skincare and makeup, I have no doubt they'd be better at it. read more

Oh my! Had I known that I was first to review I would have taken pics. Maybe next time. Now about this store. It's pretty big. I love it. The staff was nice, and helpful. The store was very overwhelming but that's good for me because they have most brands and even drug store brands, in its own section, that made it very easy to find all the latest and greatest items from them. I like how they have brands that are just as good that others high ends stores may not have. Now this store is new and I hope they keep it clean and organized like it was when I went. I also like how you can look around and still find someone to help you that is happy to help you. Although they do have a lot of brands, they dont carry everything from the brand. Exp. DON'T think you may find everything that Mac make-up brand sells. They only have the basics items and some holiday selections that may sell-out quickly. I think I will make this Ulta location my go to for now, so much better than the Baychester location. read more

This store has worse ratings than the one in Bay Plaza, yet the one in Bay Plaza is shutting down? This store is ALWAYS out of stock of many products. Even if the product is in stock, you aren't able to buy ahead and pick it up. I rarely had that problem with the store in Bay Plaza. Before I make a purchase on a perfume online i go to ulta to smell the scent. Well i regret investing my money in this store not so much for the product itself but the amount of unprofessional staff they hired in this place. the ladies located by the fragrances are chatting with the security guard instead of doing their job talking about the customers. I get there and I hear them chatting while looking at me and laughing. So unprofessional. Never will I return to this location. I would rather spend my time and money somewhere else. Hire more competent staff maybe the sales will go up and you dont end up closing like some of the ultas i used to buy from. Ps-after reading the reviews, i noticed im not the only one complaining about this security guard. If she is chasing and secretly talking about customers, perhaps she should become a cop or do something more serious with her career instead of a security guard chasing customers thinking she is catching thieves. The testers are very dirty, no staff to help you and when you do ask someone a question they do not want to help you. Security will follow and stare at you the entire time you're there making you feel extremely uncomfortable. The workers at the MAC counter and the hair salon are very friendly but unfortunately the other workers don't seem very happy to be there. read more

This place is a disaster. Empty shelves, low stock, total mess, testers stolen, trash on the floor, never enough staff, etc. It always looks like it was recently looted. If you're lucky enough to find the tester you want, odds are good the product won't be in stock, or vice versus. Every time I come to this location, I regret not making the trek to a better Ulta. The one in Dobbs Ferry isn't great either, but it's way better than this one. read more

So my review was here a couple days ago and now I don't see it so I'm posting again... If you don't want to read my whole story below- just don't go here. It's not as good as a real salon and it ended up being just as much, if not more because I had to pay for extra treatments since they made mistakes that damaged my hair... I went to the Salon to get highlights in my hair for the summer. I'm naturally dirty blonde so I just wanted some beachy highlights, nothing too crazy. I met with Mielin who I was assured was the best colorist they had when I was on the phone to make the appointment. I made the appointment a month and a half in advance at 11am when the salon is supposed to open. I didn't realize until a couple days before that I made it on Mothers day. I had lunch planned with my mom at 2:30pm, but I thought it would be fine. I got to the salon and no one was there, the salon was still closed, I waited for 10 minutes for someone to come in to open the salon, and then my stylist came in 10 min later. Meilin said she wanted to do Balayage on my hair because the highlights would come out really natural. When she explained it to me, she said she wanted to do the bottom half the normal way with the dye and foil and then the top strands she wanted to paint on. It sounded good the way she described it. When she was done and I looked at my hair, the top strands didn't come out at all and the bottom came out almost platinum and my hair was SO DRY it was like straw. It looked horrible, like a bad case of Ombre which isn't what I wanted at all. She was working on someone else too and it took such a long time. I do have long hair, but it's never taken this long. I ended up missing the Mother's day lunch with my mom. I told Meilin I was unhappy with how my hair came out but I had to rush to meet my mother. I told her I was going to need to come back for her to fix it, and she said she would fix it. I spoke to the manager on the phone a few days later and they assured me they would do anything I needed so that I was happy. I needed major work on the color and my ends were literally platinum colored straw. They had never been this dry. Long story short I went back (had to use a different stylist who they also said was another great colorist) and she said there was nothing they could do (because it was just so bad with the difference in colors from the top of my head to bottom) but dye my hair back to my original color and then try and add highlights on top of that. Those highlights also didn't come out so it's like I had my natural color back, maybe a tiny bit lighter if I'm being nice. She said since my hair been through so much, I shouldn't dye it again. They also said I needed to get a deep conditioning treatment and cut because my hair was in such bad shape. I had to make another appointment to come back for those two things since it took so long for them to try to (unsuccessfully) correct the color. I spoke with the manager to schedule the appointment and rushed home after work to get the last step done. After all of that, they then insisted that I needed to pay for the conditioning and cut that I only needed because they over-processed my hair in the first place!! I was livid and explained this to them, but they insisted all I could get for free was the color fix. I said I was not happy and she said she was sorry for "my misunderstanding about what they would do to fix it." I ended up spending OVER $300 to not even get the beach highlights that I went in to the salon to get in the first place...AND on top of that to have severely dryer and shorter hair than I had before. It was a lot shorter because I needed to get the dead ends cut off... If you're thinking of going here for anything other than a regular cut or blowout, save your money and find real salon to do the job. read more

I want to start by saying thank you Ulta you made my wedding day very special. So the store manager opened 30 minutes earlier which was great. Juleah Divine has never touched my hair before my wedding day. I just want to say she did an amazing job. Mind you she was only going by a picture I texted her. She made my hair look better than the picture. I have no words. Now off to the makeup section. Mitzi Terry did my makeup and all she did was a test on one side of my face and I knew she was the one to do my makeup. Even after getting a call that she couldn't do it and I was crying and screaming in my apartment. I went to Ulta with my fiance at the time but Mitzi confirmed she was still doing my makeup. I thanked her manager and co worker who switched her shift. Everyone who saw my hair and makeup said it was beautiful . I told everyone where I had it done. The girl who did my daughters hair did it beautifully. I can't thank you enough. Thank you all for making me feel like a Queen on my special day. Absolutely terrible experience! Mom & I pop in and she stops to get a lip wax at the Benefit Brow Bar. A clinician named stephanie serviced her and literally RIPPED her Skin Off!! Wax was wayyy tooo HOT + strip used was too large for area. The injury has now scabbed and scarred. When we went back to report the incident to Ulta managers Lauren & Melinda...neither offered an apology nor a refund, instead they asked that we come back after they speak with the clinician...as if people have extra time on thier hands to handle their mediocre service. This is not how you remedy an issue that your staff is responsible for. Stephanie not only left excess wax with her botched up service...she also left a scar on my mother face!!! What kind of crazy operation are they running at Ulta Yonkers. I will be reaching out to corporate about this despicable experience. read more

I like Ulta in general but I am not a fan of the Ulta location in Cross County at all! This store is always such a mess. The displays always appear extremely sloppy and disorganized and there is always an extremely long line at this location. I happened to come once on Christmas Eve during the day and they had ONE cashier working. The line was practically out the door. I felt bad for the cashier as she was obviously trying to do her best but that was just extremely poor management. I have gone back on other occasions since that time and they had the same issues with the long lines. This store clearly does not have the appropriate staffing or management necessary. read more
