Not a bad Ulta out here in the 'burbs. It's been a while since I've been to one of these stores, so I was surprised to find that they also sell drugstore makeup brands in addition to the higher-end makeup brands. Their NYX section was to die for! It was my lucky day, as they were having a sale on CHI hair straighteners. I was able to get a dual voltage CHI Ultra for $90, original price $150, woo hoo! However, it appears they need to do a better job on updating their stock. I also bought some No7 day cream and noticed the box was a bit dusty. I didn't think anything of it, and the outside packaging doesn't display the expiration date. After opening the product at home, I noticed it expired in 3 months, which I think is a bit too soon, no? I'm used to seeing skin care products at the store with expiration dates at least 1 year in advance. Either way, this is a first world problem, but still something worth noting. read more

The customer service sucks at this location. There's an older Hispanic manager and she has the stankest attitude ever. Every time I come in here, she is rude and unfriendly. This is the closest location to me, but I may just start going to Sugarland. Nobody ever speaks to me or even approached to see if I need anything. When I came in on another occasion, the black lady from the Clinique section kept following me around, yet didn't speak to me. Once I got to the register, she tried to whisper to the cashier that I may have put something in my bag. Be forreal!! My total was more than 300, so I definety am not stealing anything. The cashiers always get snappy when I try to use a coupon on my points. Why get mad when the company sends them out for customers to use?! Worst customer service and this is coming from someone who has been in retail for 6+years. Every time I come in here, I never have a good experience. I just hate that the location is convenient for me, but I may have to drive to another location. read more

I like the product selection at this store, and they occasionally have some decent sales going on. However, the customer service is truly disappointing. I wasn't greeted upon entering or thanked when I left. No one approached me the entire time I browsed, and the cashier barely spoke--less than five words the whole transaction. It felt like no one wanted to be there. On top of that, the store itself needs some serious attention. The racks are covered in so much dust that you could literally write in it. I've had far better experiences at the Sugarland location. The staff there is more attentive, and the store is much cleaner. If you have the option, take the short drive to Sugarland instead. I ordered a curling iron from Amazon. It was only good for me to straighten my hair with no curls. Too big! I went to Ulta to get a smaller one which is perfect. It would have cost me more to return the larger one than to purchase one. I'm happy with what I bought. :-) read more

I visited the Rosenberg Ulta today, as I do when I don't have time to make it to Sugar Land, and immediately regretted coming to this location. Upon entering, I was "welcomed" in by the Clinique "expert" who stared at me as if I were getting ready to steal something. As I proceeded towards the back of the store, two additional staff members stated, "welcome in" as they went about their business, with ZERO eye contact. I wouldn't have known they were speaking to me, had I not been one of the only people in the store. As I looked for products, I was met by a pleasant individual who asked how my day was going. Turns out she was also a CUSTOMER! We both proceeded to the front of the store for someone to assist us. Not sure about her experience but the one star I am leaving was for the gal who actually helped me. While she didn't find my product, she did support in finding me an alternative. As I rounded the store, someone stood by me with an Ulta shopping bag. No words, just the bag by my elbow. I grabbed it and said thank you, though I found it bulky and unnecessary as I was carrying two extremely small items. As I looked up, I realized it was the initial woman who "greeted me". At the check out, in efforts to make conversation and ultimately understand her intentions, I asked the Clinique expert (who was uncomfortably standing behind the check out stand) what I may use for an extremely dry eyelid. Transparently, this was her chance to actually sell something. I was unpleasantly surprised by the inappropriate response of, "have you been to a doctor?". I've reach out regarding poor customer service at this location, and it's completely ignored! This location has POOR customer service. Lead cashier Sonya doesn't speak and looked at me in disgust because I tapped on door because the store wasn't opened at 10:00am. When l worked retail , and I saw people standing in the cold, I would let them in even if it was 2 minutes before opening. I hate shopping in this store because they don't make you feel like you're appreciated, more like a burden. How dare I expect you to work? My little sister in law took her time selecting items to get a free gift during the because there was a big sale going on where if you spent a certain amount on a certain brand, you get a gift. Well she got rung up, paid, and did not receive her gift. She asked about it and the cashier went back and looked in a binder, and then a drawer, and came back to say they ran out. I asked her why they still had the signs up if they are not honoring it and she just shrugged and said they sometimes forget to take down the signs. I've always believed if you're unhappy at your job you should find one that is more appealing because a poor disposition makes the entire company look bad. The lady, I'll not share her name because my goal isn't to get anyone fired, that "helped" with makeup clearly didn't want to be there or help. She wasn't pleasant at all, and when it came to makeup she just chose a shade. She applied it like she was painting walls and then just stood there looking at me. When I mentioned it wasn't the right look her response was, "well you tell me where you want to go with this." I then decided that Ulta wasn't in the mood for my money and I left. I visited about a month ago and Cheena w/Clinique was so awesome I cane back to repurchase the full size options for my skincare routine. She is very knowledgeable, helpful, funny and patient. She gained information about my skin first and then gave me a facial. GHETTO. They canceled on me last minute last Saturday for a cut, didn't even offer any options or an alternative time that day, just a "sorry, the stylist had an emergency." Salon: I had THE best experience ever! I got a hair treatment and the best haircut I've ever had. The hairstylist was also very nice by telling me that the haircut made the dyed parts on my hair look choppy, which I appreciate. She was able to thin out my hair so much, which I've always struggled to find someone to do Store: after my hair appointment, I started looking for makeup. Do not come here to get your hair done! I love always gone to Visible Changes and have received excellent work but very pricey. I decided to come to Ulta because it wasn't as pricey and closer to home. The first time I came I was okay with my hair. I touched up my roots and went a little more blonde throughout, however, his previous time I thought I would try something new and get ombré with some bayalage. My hair came out terrible. There was no nice ombré transition into my blonde whatsoever. Hair hair looked like patches of dark brown slapped onto my blonde hair. I have never been so disappointed. Call me dramatic but I literally wanted to cry every time I looked into the mirror and saw my hair. I went 2 days later to talk to the stylist, they weren't there so I talked to the manager. She said they would be able to do a color remover and take out the dark brown and help me go lighter, back to how my hair was originally. She was very comforting to talk to as she said she would be next to us the whole time and making sure I got what I wanted. That was a disaster as well. The manager was not around whatsoever. My hair is now blonde with orange patches and my roots are showing which is the total opposite of what I wanted. On top of not being able to get my hair back, my hair is fried from them lightening up my blonde. When I came in to make the appointment I stated if I could go more blonde without it damaging my hair too much then I would be fine with it, but if my hair is going to break off, then I don't want it. Last two items I bought at this location have been worthless. The Conair Infiniti Pro Dryer was the first item. One morning, after a few months of use, the dryer threw sparks and started smoking. Had to trash it so it wouldn't catch my hair on fire. The second item was an Olivia Garden Round Brush. After less than 90 days, the bristle bars cracked, causing the whole brush to fall apart. Ulta would not refund either purchase and told me to go to the manufacturer. Poor quality products and no customer service when the products break. read more

TURN ON THE AC! Standing in line right now and it is so freaking hot. I've been here multiple times and I always end fanning myself with my hand. I've seen other customers do it too. It's ridiculous because I'm sweating. I'm sure this is not good for the makeup products either. This Ulta is ok. I am a Sephora rouge member and a platinum member at Ulta. I LOVE MAKEUP AND PERFUME! I've noticed that if I walk in with no makeup on (usually it's in the morning right after dropping my child off at preschool) the sales associates ignore me. Most of the time I do look a hot mess walking in there but that shouldn't have any bearing on the way a customer is treated. Furthermore, half the girls there have very little knowledge about makeup, perfume or cologne...it should be mandatory that they are well versed on all or at least most of their products. Last time I went in there an employee insisted a woman's fragrance was indeed a men's cologne. I do love that Ulta offers platinum members 20% off coupons and I build points that turn into cash off. read more

My review is on the hair salon. Took my daughter there for an 11:30 am shampoo and cut. It was an hour before she was called back and believe it or not 1:30 when we left there. Totally unacceptable. Whoever devised their scheduling system really needs to take a lesson from V. C. When the competition says you have 5:30 appt., YOU HAVE A 5:30 APPOINTMENT! Nothing worse than sitting down for a haircut after steaming for over an hour. i made an appointment at the salon for 4pm with G over the phone. When i arrived 20 minutes ahead of time, i was ignored by the stylists. I saw they were pretty busy so I just waited until I caught one of their attention. Finally after about 15 minutes a girl walking in for her shift asks me if I had an appointment. I told her I did and with whom, she then told me that he would be with me in a couple minutes. Shortly after that, she tells me he wants me to wait 45 minutes because he is doing highlights. Ummm.. no? I made an appointment for 4, which I was early for. What was the point of booking him if I had to wait almost another hour? I left. Why would he book highlights if he knew he had someone coming around that time? And if he was already booked then why did they give me a 4 pm appointment? Waste of time. I took both of my daughters in for haircuts yesterday. My youngest had hers cut by Danielle. She was very nice my daughter who is very shy. She was very comfortable with her. ( she even told her about the boy that picks on her in class) my oldest had her appointment at 5:00 with Sam. At first she seemed nice but she doesn't know respect. She told my daughter that I knew nothing and she knew everything. I had to keep it together since my daughter was in her chair. The cut was nice and my daughter loves it. But she wasn't comfortable with Sam and asked if she could get cut by Danielle from now on. When she went to give me my ticket. She said she would schedule me and my daughter for a deep conditioning cause it looks like I needed one..... I told her I didn't need one that in my off days I let my hair breathe from any products. Literally came in for 1 nail polish, so I come to the register and the employee proceeds to tell me its 10.99 when the price where all the nail polish literally was said 2.99 . I would give zero stars if I could! I went to have my makeup done for an engagement photo session done by Nina and it was horrendous!!! I was so embarrassed to even walk out to my car. I told her I wanted natural looking with light colors. What I got was huge black eye brows (which I am a blonde with light brows to begin with) dark eye shadow which made which made my eyes look sunken in and like a raccoon, and face foundation that was not the right color and also made my skin look like it was peeling!! Dont waste your money here people, trust me!! I will never return here! My photographer met me afterwards to see it because I called her upset and said she will never refer her clients here anymore either now and we had to reschedule pictures due to this bad job! We took pictures of the makeup job right after just to have proof and show people how bad it was and everyone agreed. And to top it off the salon manager refuses to do anything about it! Natalie is phenomenal! I always test a new stylist by allowing them to cut my hair before doing any color; and Natalie did not disappoint! The cut she gave was fantastic and the color/highlights are amazing. I wasn't exactly sure what I wanted, but I knew what I didn't want. Natalie absolutely nailed a new look for me and I have found my new stylist! She is extremely talented, works hard, and was a pleasure to spend a few hours with on a Saturday afternoon. read more
