Horrible, the never get me what I want and when I asked for a little bit off the sides and back they gave me a whole fade.

I went there for the first time and had a great experience. I went in for a haircut and my daughter wanted to dip dye her hair. I got my haircut from Amy and May did my daughter's hair. They did a wonderful job and were very nice toward my daughter since it was her first time and took a while. They did a lot better than the pictures I showed them. My daughter is very happy. If I could leave zero stars after today I would. I came in for highlights and a cut. I have come to New Looks many times over the last 3-4 years. The first few times I came, it looked great (Amy). Three & four visits ago, my hair came out orange and yellow (Amy) and I did not feel she cared as she stated it was my base color despite my base color never being orange so I tried a different stylist (Donna). The last time Donna did my hair it looked great and she removed all of the orange. However, I saw Donna again today and she turned my hair purple. What is so frustrating is that she did not apologize or take ownership of the mistake she made. Instead, she said she used the same product as last time and claimed my hair is platinum. I told her my hair indeed is not platinum. It is purple. She said that she could put a different kind of toner on. It did not look much better after that so she offered to re-bleach my hair, which as everyone knows for over toned, over processed hair the worst thing you can do is add more bleach. I told her I don't understand the back looks fine but the front is purple. She blamed it on my hair being thin. I left in tears and still had to pay $160. read more

Got what I asked and in less of the time I expected however the process to get there wasn't what I wanted bc the excessive use of the flat iron to make those curls damages my hair . I been looking for a good salon in Sugar Land that charge the same price as Chinatown, and finally I found it! I call on Sunday morning to make appointment with Amy. I was lucky to get a spot at 1030am. I got there and waited for 10 mins then she greeted me. I got my hair wash, cut and styled for the same price in Chinatown. Great place for a quick, affordable haircut and nice styling (got my prom hair styled here). I've been coming here for over five years now and usually just go with whichever artist is available. So it has been maybe a week and I've washed my hair with color safe shampoo 2 times and the color is completely gone .The random purple streaks are still there which is odd but Everything else is like a brassy color . Finally found a hairdresser that understand how I need my hair cut. The price for a hair cut was just unbelievably inexpensive.

Terrible for hair cuts! I went to get a woman's haircut on my blonde hair and the service was absolutely horrendous. I asked the lady if she had the shampoo for colored hair and she ended up using some very drying shampoo. She also charged me $15 for a "hair mask" she used. She then blow dried my hair without putting any products and gave it a blunt cut. They don't know how to work with textured hair/dry hair and don't condition at all. It's unbelievable how she charged me and let me walk out the salon like that. read more

I walked in with no reservation. It was late morning, and in the mid of the week so not many people were there. I knew exactly what I wanted: a simple trim and bangs. After being asked what service I was interested in (Haircut & Shampoo) I was in a chair almost immediately. My hair was dirty and tied back in a regular ponytail. She seemed to examine hair by looking at it's ends before the wash. It was then I was told the price: $29. I was nervous since this was my first time in months of doing anything to my hair-- and a new location at that-- but I didn't mention it. Stylist and I were mostly quite, there was some small talk between us. She was very considerate and made a few friendly suggestions. Example; I wanted bangs that would neatly go across above my brows, but since my hair is used to part at the middle, she suggested to style it with a straightener. In fact she knew before cutting that my hair type would stubbornly part and ask if I would still be okay with that. Before every decision (in terms of length) I was asked, which I greatly appreciated because I was a silent bundle of nerves. It calmed me down to see that I was in good hands. Since my nerves were fading I spontaneously ask how much was eyebrows: ($8) I nodded and she finished my haircut with a hair straightener. (My preference between that or curls). My brows definitely needed it. She shaped them following brow bone. (My natural shape.) Again, simple yet nice. Applied aloe vera to sooth the skin. I left surprised of this little shop. If I was honest, it was the previous Yelp comments that got me curious of this shop. After leaving, I can agree that I got similar results as Visible Changes for a lesser price. But what I loved most what the customer service. That's what made the biggest impression on me. read more

I've been living in sugar land for YEARS and have gone to the same hair salon getting mediocre cuts that I was never fully happy with...until I finally ventured out and found this place! I showed Amy a few pictures of a cut and color i wanted and she took the time to explain the details of the cut to make sure I was 100% sure that that was what I wanted! May does a great job for our family, giving exactly the cuts and citrine the men in our tribe want. She tends to more conservative cuts, as that is the area, so when I ask for something different like shaving the underside of my head, she will make sure she understands and does exactly what we want. This place deserves another try as I paid an inexpensive price. However, I did not recieve a haircut similair to what I requested. I requested an angled haircut with no layers. I did get my layers removed which is good but my hair was not angled. If it was angled any more, the cut would be too short to my liking. My hairdresser was very nice though and customer service was speedy. In the end, I still liked my cut after while and recieved many compliments. my hair is growing healthily and well. I would've enjoyed receiving what I asked for in the picture or at least consultation if the cut is not achievable. read more

This is one of the best haircut salon in Sugar Land. Look for Helen or Amy. Helen literally cut my hair exactly the way I wanted. I cut around 6 inches and she walked me through the process since I was hesitant. She also gave me tips while cutting my hair such as addressing concerns about haircare and how I could style. She also gave recommendations for future haircuts in case I wanted to change. The customer service is absolutely up to par and everything is very clean. Everyone is so friendly. I had two sweet ladies working on my hair today. Helen was one, and I didn't catch the name of the other lady. I have a lot of hair, but it's fine, so it's easy to mess up or see mistakes on. New Looks = cheap, fast but so-so haircut stylists. I felt very uncomfortable when the hair stylist rolled her eyes when I tried to use my hand and get a feel of my hair. She replied "put your hand down, put your hand down." I wasn't trying to give her a hard time, but it was my way to know if she was doing what I liked. Wasn't that what a haircut is all about? I wanted a new look, so why not visit a hair salon called New Looks that I found on Yelp? Amy was very nice, and she gave a lot of good tips on how to train the bangs and get more volume. She had a lot of patience and did what I asked her to do with my hair. She listens to my thoughts and concerns and looks at the pictures I showed her of the bangs I wanted. Her husband is Paul (whom seemed to be popular on the Yelp reviews) and I joked that I need to get my hair cut with Paul next time and then compare the two to see who is better. Paul says Amy is better, and Amy says Paul is very good. A really nice couple! I ended up cutting more than 8 inches or so, and got a totally new look that I was happy with. Amy also gave me the locks of cut hair so that I can donate it. I have a feeling that if I had gotten the same cut at another place, I wouldn't have been as pleased. I really liked Amy, and I don't mind going with her again next time though I would also like to see how Paul is as well. I will definitely return with my next hair do. For ladies with long hair - hair cut is only $15 and wash, hair cut, and styling is $25 which are fairly reasonable prices. read more
