Terrible customer service. The sales floor is a huge mess, everything is out of wack. They only had one person up front but a line full of people. I saw more than 5 employees walk up to the counter, one of them could've jumped on the counter and helped out. The manager Jaz is absolutely no help to her employees. I can't believe I have never reviewed any Ulta before! I came here this evening as I was looking for a LED light machine to cure my gel nails at home. I am starting to realize I spend a lot of money getting my nails done so I need to do them on my own. They have several different machines and I made my choice based on online reviews and the discount offered at the store. While I was there looking for the LED nail machine I accidentally bought a whole bunch of makeup ( halo emoji). They just have so many goodies in the store that were too good to pass up. They have a plethora of hair products for all nationalities, a ton of lipsticks, eyeshadows, and mascaras for all nationalities, a bunch of foundations and concealers for all nationalities, and different styling tools and products........for all nationalities. They have a lot of products. They even have an area with a makeup artist to trial certain products before you buy as well as a full salon in the back which is really nice. I walked out of there with almost $400 worth of goodies which is okay because I work hard and I'm super ugly so I need it (jokes). I do love Ulta and I shall return maybe at the end of the year to restock! read more

it's my birthday so I came in to do some slight shopping. I got greeted and Denise assisted me. she was super awesome. I was asking if there were any birthday perks and the girl at the register (Itzel) was giving me attitude just for asking, she had this "I don't even want to be here" type of vibe and really wasn't wanting to help. she gave me a number to call for a barcode even though I showed her my app and wasn't able to find a barcode. I ask for a supervisor and the supervisor made it seem like my birthday wasn't as special saying that the perks that they had available weren't even that great anyways ( as if why should I even bother trying). I've been an Ulta shopper for years and this is my first bad experience. Even when I was trying to get assistance because the system wasn't reading the gift card I had she (Itzel) had attitude to assist me with inputting information. The spot with all of the beauty supplies, makeup, and a salon all in one - sounds great? I was recommended to go to a stylist that is listed as a "pro" - I thought "this will be great, and with my salon purchase, I'll gain points and have a new salon to frequent" Wrong. The stylist asked me what i wanted in a way that she wanted to tell her the technique to do my hair. My hair is bleached in the balayage style and had grown out and all I wanted was for the top to blend and be bleached - basically a balayage touch up. That's not what I got. I got a crappy bleach, a subpar haircut, and treatment for $230+ and 3+ hours of my time. But, it doesn't end there. I left the salon thinking "eh I'm not sure how I feel about my hair" it was a little brassier than I wanted - but it was fall so I was rolling with the golden tint. (My hair was originally more icy blonde) The next morning, I curl my hair and have a panic because it looks like I had dyed it myself which is far from a compliment. This trip cost me another trip less than 12 hours after my first back to Ulta for it to be fixed only for my hair to turn out over processed and me sitting in the salon chair for another 5 hours. The most costly mistake I've ever made was going to Ulta. I still use products carried at Ulta, but I do NOT recommend the salon, even if the stylist is labeled "Pro" - then again it must be a luck of the draw to get a great stylist. read more

I don't wear makeup, so I figured I would never find myself browsing in a store like this one, however, I wasn't born with freckles neither and I found myself looking around for a product that would get rid of my dark acne scars that I've had since puberty days. As soon as I walked in, this guy who had on makeup approached me, he was a nice friendly flamboyant kind of associate. Let me just say, I wasn't expecting to see a man wearing caked on makeup in the store. Although, no judgment from me. He explained to me that Ulta was more of a beauty supply store and drug store all in one. Initially, I knew what I wanted to look at when I arrived, but decided it was best to ask an esthetician first. The male figure directed me to Angelina and she immediately showed me to the Clinique products. I was surprised to see the prices of Clinique products as they scared me. Usually I do an extensive research on a skin care product before I actually buy it and knew that I didn't wanna spend $50+ on a tiny bottle. However, Angelina explained to me how the serum would definitely work to pull out the dark spots. Then, I asked her about Mario Badescu Glycolic products and told her that I had been researching on them and read how they had excellent reviews online. She then walked my friend and I to the back of the store, for what seemed like a hundred miles away, from the front. When we got back there, Angelina was explaining to me how the glycolic product wouldn't help so much and how it just cleans the outside and doesn't get deep down, but I started to feel pretty skeptical on her advice because I read and watched online reviews on this product that explained otherwise. Plus, the Mario Badescu products was a whole lot cheaper, $8-$20. However, despite me feeling skeptical, Angelina was still very kind and we even chatted about how certain foods can make your face break out. I liked talking with her. I told her that my dark spots make it seem like I have freckles and she totally thought that I born with freckles and told me that she thought it looked cute on me. She said that she couldn't tell otherwise and that I could definitely pull them off if anyone asked. Now, I am thinking maybe I should keep them, instead of getting rid of them. After Angelina left, I just looked around the store a little bit and wondered if at the salon do they work on all types of hair, but I forgot to ask Angelina. Maybe next time. I left without buying anything, but I'm glad I didn't buy anything. Angelina made me realize something that I couldn't see deep down. Therefore, I will embrace my freckles. ___________________________________________________ Overall, the store is priced fairly high based on what you decide to buy. It wouldn't agree and say that it is a mix between a drug store and a beauty supply because those two stores aren't expensive especially if you visit a beauty supply store in the hood, most of their products are dirt cheap. Same with a drug store, it's affordable. It's nice that they do sell tiny bottles of shampoo and conditioner just to try out, however the price was pretty steep: $4 for an ounce bottle. I'm guessing name brand store with a hefty price tag. I can say that every associate that I spoke with was very nice, smiley faced with lots of makeup on and knew a little about the product. (Also, I must mention a "Yay, I'm a fan" 4 star review from a makeup store doesn't mean I love makeup enough to wear it everyday. I'm still against wearing makeup as I don't think I need it.) read more

I purchased a very small bottle of perfume and the price was $96.00! I maybe wrong, but I think that price is higher then Macy's or Dillards. I called in to ask about if a product was in stock, the new mascara by Max and whoever answered the phone was very quick to dismiss me saying it wasn't in stock, I checked online and it was in stock. Went in store and saw it fully stocked, grabbed two and went my way, however when I went to check out I was very happy how I was being handled. We visit Ulta Beauty quite frequently. The staff here is always professional and friendly. I know I can always find what I need and be on my way in a matter of minutes. Everyone I have encountered has been super helpful. I tend to visit during the week early in the morning. There is plenty of parking. I have never considered using their salon services as I have loyalty to my stylist. I recommend visiting this location if you are in the area. read more

Curbside wasn't even curbside. 20 minutes sitting in the car waiting for my so called "curbside order". If I wouldn't have gone in I wouldn't have got my order. I could've gone in and came out in less than 20 minutes. By far the worst curbside I've ever done. My husband has actually been here more than I have because this is where he goes to shop for hairdryer or flat irons when I ask him to get one for me. I have been in here once, and while I was unimpressed with the customer service, I was amazed at the sheer amount of products! I went here to get a hair mask after I somehow damaged my hair. First of all, I was not greeted by anyone as I walked in the store. This was my first time to ANY Ulta and I had no idea where to find anything, so someone greeting me and pointing me where I should go would have been very helpful. In fact, there was no one at the front of the store. At. All. I did see workers with customers, so that's good. I took a moment to look around the store and discovered that the product I was looking for was way in the back. I make my way back there and literally stare at the wall for a few minutes. There were a few employees back there, not one of them asked if I needed help. I did eventually find what I was looking for, but there are 3 different products and I had no idea what to buy. I ended up taking all three of the products to the counter to ask the sales clerk which one I need As I got to the counter I interrupted a conversation between the previously missing sales clerks. I spoke to to the youngest one, but she was clueless and asked an older blonde lady. While this person is "civil" she looks me up and down and seems to speak to me with her nose in the air. I wound up buying a $35 hair mask that didn't help my hair at all, and had a horrible customer service experience at this store. I would love to go back and peruse the aisles, but honestly I can't imagine doing that. For the prices on their products I expect better customer service. My husband even got me a Preferred Member card and I most likely won't use it at all. read more

This particular Ulta has really friendly ladies working the counter and the floor. They were super nice and helped me find everything I needed. They were also pretty good at recommending substitutes for products they did not carry. I loved that they had a lipstick sale when I was there, so you know I'm stocked for the next 12 months! lol. This is definitely my go to Ulta. It is also fairly big and you are sure to find what you are looking for, unless it is discontinued... which lets admit kinda sucks! read more

Doing so it had the barcode online and I happened to be a dollar short to receive this coupon. Instead of suggesting I get one thing she just told me it doesn't apply rudely and I also wasn't offered my free gift that I found out comes with my purchase. My first time to visit this location and will most likely not be my first option in the future unless I'm just picking something up . The girl working in the makeup area didn't seem like she wanted to be there which was a bit frustrating since I wanted advice on color matching so I didn't get as much as I anticipated. I have received much better service at other locations especially W Alabama. But a guy did help me in the hair section and he was knowledgeable in the products and no complaints at checkout. So this location I would rate 3 stars. The service is dependent on who is on staff so it's a hit or miss I'm sure. read more

This review is primarily about a cosmetologist at this store, Tehreem. I go to her to have my eyebrows waxed and I haven't been this happy with service in years! Tehreem is super polite, professional and a true artist when it comes to making you look your best. Compared to most waxing salons, they may be a little more expensive, but it is worth it. Ulta is the only place I've been to since moving to SE Texas where I have never seen a single person "double dip" in the wax pot - the way it SHOULD be! I have never had a reaction from a waxing service and the same can't be said for any other salon or chain store with waxing services in SE Texas. read more

Ulta has quickly become my kryptonite along with its competitor which I will not name, out of respect. ;) I have had some "OMG are you serious RUDE!!" experiences here at the Pasadena location, but they have redeemed themselves with SUPERSTARS like Mr. FABULOUS Kenny Walker!! Yes he is a FAN'Freakin'TASTIC makeup consultant who helped to show me how to do some awesome things with make up. He not only took his time to answer some of my questions I had about items in my make up bad but also helped to suggest some incredible new products. read more

I have been in a dire need of a haircut so I decided to go ahead and set an appointment. I get TWO confirmation emails both saying the exact time my appointment is set for. I wrote it down and I had it in my calendar on my phone. It's the morning of my appointment, I get there exactly at the time both emails had notified me about. I'm really excited because I REALLY REALLY need a haircut, so I walk to the back and tell them I'm here for my appointment. And the lady says that in their system they had me scheduled for an earlier time?? Which doesn't make any sense to me when all the information I received about my appointment says something completely different. They tell me that I missed my appointment and they can't do anything about it. But I didn't miss it, I got there exactly what I had scheduled it for. The lady was extremely rude that I had first talked to, and apparently she would have been the one to cut my hair so maybe it was a sign LOL. The second lady I talked to pretty much told me the same thing the first one did but in a nicer way but at this point I'm over it. I then talk to two other ladies and they apologize and asked me if anyone had called me prior to my scheduled appointment to confirm, I told them no and showed them both emails I received. At first they both seemed a little confused on why they didn't take me in or why no one tried to call but they again apologized and said there was nothing they can do. I try to make this Ulta my last resort LOL!!! I gave it 2 stars because they had the concealer and foundation stick I needed. The employees here don't help period!!!!!!! One of the times I came there was no one in line to check out, so my friend went straight to the register, the girl at the register told her where the line started..... Then my friend found something else and went back to the line to purchase again, she went to where the girl said it started this time, and this time the girl rolled her eyes and just rang it up, took the money, and that was it. No "have a nice day", no "thank you", nothing. The manager on duty wasn't any better. So I just like to go to the better, more organized and clean stores as well. read more
