I went to get my hair fixed at the salon, and I had the absolute best experience. They made my hair so amazing and the staff was so friendly and nice. Every time I go in they always have buy one get one free or promotional "gifts" . I have yet been able to use the bogo or receive a gift. Today, they tried to substitute a "curly hair" product gift with one that is very specific to straight hair. I opted to return one of my items since you had to spend $30 for the gift. I was told that the promotional items were as supply lasts, but obviously they don't have a supply. When I mentioned that maybe they should remove the free gift signage by the products, she said that they were required to have them even if they didn't have the items. I have decided to buy my hair supplies elsewhere since false advertising is their top concern. read more

Went in with my daughter this week, asked the sales person for an item, she told me if it's not there we don't have any, my daughter opened the drawer below and the item I asked for was there and plentiful. Girl never even budged. When we got to the checkout the cashier told me I had a few dollars off, I also had a coupon for $3.50, I asked her to remove a specific item so that I could use the coupon she obliged. She then rang up the item we had set aside and I gave her the coupon to scan to which she replied, you cannot use that coupon because the item was a premium item. She knew that before we set it aside when I said that to her I got a blank stare and a shrug. POOR customer service throughout. read more

I recently went to this specific location to exchange an item, but the service here was horrible. The manager was very rude and condescending. I expect to feel treated with a little respect and courtesy when shopping at a store that promotes, "To inspire every guest and enabling each associate to build a fulfilling career." It was sadly quite the opposite. The manager as well as another associate were laughing and talking on their mics, which I could assume was about me. I felt very disrespected and upset about the entire situation. I took my service to another Ulta Beauty store and there was a major difference. I got helped and was treated with the upmost respect. I liked my previous salon and stylist but couldn't continue to drop several hundred dollars every six weeks, I needed to make a change. I just started shopping at Ulta on line. I love browsing in my jammies and stuff showing on my front porch. I had never been in a Ulta store and had some time to peruse the store by me. I was happily surprised to all of the brands that Ulta offers. So many choices! I was surprised to see that they had salon services in the store too. In one of the emails that I receive from them, I was able to see the services they offer. I scheduled my appointment blindly, with no idea who my stylist would be. They have evening appointments for the working girls (good play on words, eh?), like me. I was blessed to be set up with Cy. Cy is very knowledgeable and we discussed several...or many options. Because of her explanation and experience,I felt comfortable telling her to do what she felt was best. Let me tell ya, I am very happy with my hair. The color has depth and shine. This is my new salon and Cy will continue to be my stylist. I'm a fan! read more

We went in this weekend to get a style for my daughter, she was having some photos taken and her hair it so so straight we can barely do anything with it. First of all we hen we got there the woman said she was an hour behind and that we could reschedule, not possible so she said she would do her when the other client had her dye in. i really appreciated that so we waited. All we wanted was her hair turned under, and told her that my daughters had would not do it without a lot of work and a good amount of product. The stylist could not understand that we wanted the hair smooth with just the bottom turned under, we got up a picture of when it had been done that way before. She proceeded to spray the tiniest amount of heat set in and blow dry it under, while telling my daughter that her hair was cut wrong and she could do this herself easily if her hair was cut correctly- her hair was cut two weeks ago and had lasted all day- So we go to leave and her hair is already popping out. I did not leave a tip. This is not the first time we have dealt with weird stylists here. Once when my daughter was ten we got a trim and afterwords when I asked her how it was she started crying because the woman had kept snapping at her when she shifted and blamed my daughter for her hair being crooked because at one point she had crossed her legs. Of course it's good to give direction but this kid has been having her hair styled professionally since she was little and knows the drill, all you gotta do it remind her. read more

This Ulta is okay but it could definitely be better. I feel ignored every time I come in, even if there aren't very many customers. I've come here on several occasions looking for something needing help and being unable to find someone on the floor able to help. I have been able to track people down, mostly by following them through the aisles to ask a simple question. I have purchased nail polish and makeup here before and I was shocked that there was not ONE sales person in the makeup area. The selection is fair and the stock is decent, but if you need any help you may want to go elsewhere. But if you know what you're looking for it's just fine. read more

Due to extended holiday hours, I was able to get in for a 9 a.m. haircut and style on a Saturday. The store was pretty empty, but I suppose most people weren't aware it was opening early for the season. I'd imagine this store is as successful as any other Ulta, but they don't quite have the foot traffic of Park Place. Robin, the salon manager, did my hair. I like how you can book a stylist based on experience here. You can get a service slightly cheaper by going with someone with less experience. I think Robin was a mid-level. She was very pleasant to talk to and recommended a conditioning treatment. Why not? My hair could use some rehab. We had a lot to talk about, and I always appreciate when a stylist can carry on a conversation beyond small-talk subjects like the weather. She styled it a bit messier than I preferred, but after brushing and fluffing it a bit, my hair looked great. It came out a bit shorter than I had asked for, but I very much liked her cut and layering. She seemed to know what she was doing. I would go see her again. read more

I actually swore off Ulta for a long time after having gone to the location by the Tucson Mall several times. They had very rude, unhelpful employees every time I visited, and was not a fan of the service for how much I was paying. However, I sucked it up and visited this location with my Mom to find a new Urban Decay lipstick and was...pleasantly converted. The store is large, clean, and well-stocked. We were greeted by one of the Clinique girls (I think her name is Kelly), who helped me find my lipstick and helped my Mom locate a good Clinique foundation with coverage that was appropriate. She was patient and informative and completely changed my opinion of the Ulta name. I have gone back to the store once or twice since and will continue to visit this location because of the quality customer service. read more

I just moved from San Jose to Marana literally the night before I called this Ulta salon. The day before I had went to "my" Ulta in San Jose and was able to use my points from my reward card for a free haircut and conditioning treatment with a stylist I'd used previously (and had no problems with). Unfortunately, when the haircut was done, I was in such a hurry to get home and finish packing, I threw my hair up into a ponytail and didn't even check to see if it was ok. After I got to Marana the next day, showered, and fixed my hair, I couldn't help but be annoyed with some of the uneven layers around my face. Nothing major by any means, but enough that it would bother me until I got it fixed. I called this Ulta, explained that it had been a rewards points' cut in California and asked what their policy was on fixing it, the charge, etc. After checking with the manager, the gal on the phone apologized they couldn't get me in sooner (so I'm thinking 2-3 days), but she means they couldn't get me in that afternoon! I was scheduled for noon the next day. The manager shampooed, cut, and blow dried my hair for no charge. She did an excellent job, and it's sad that (I think she said) her last day would be that following Friday. This salon, compared to other Ulta salons I've seen, was very neat and organized. I came here initially looking for purple shampoo. When I walked in , I was distracted because I saw a table full of Madison Reed. I've heard of this product from Facebook and was curious to try. A nice man asked me if I needed help. He assisted me in finding the right shade. He even walked me to a different Madison Reed aisle for more shade selections and was so patient as I went on the website for suggestions. After finding the correct shade he asked if I considered using a purple shampoo. Wow, he read my mind. He then helped me find a purple shampoo. I then went to look for foundation. I have plenty of it, but am not impressed with any I own, another sales guy showed me a line called PUR. I actually haven't heard of it. He helped chose a shade for me without trying it on my skin due to COVID. I have been using Jane Iradale because it's recommended by dermatologist, but I am not impressed with it due to the color is always off. I bought the one he suggested. As soon as I got in my car, I tried on the foundation right away. Omg... it was the perfect match and it looked amazing on me. It's now my favorite foundation ever. I use to work at Nordstrom in Cosmetics and I haven't found service as good as Nordstrom, until today. I wish I knew these men's names because they deserve recognition. Thanks guys. Went there to get my hair cut a few days ago, and had the pleasure of meeting one of their stylists, Katie. I knew my hair was going to come out great just from the consult. She listened, and asked enough questions to make sure she understood what I was looking for. And she set clear and reasonable expectations. Namely, that my hair will not turn out like the picture I brought in, because it was a wig (I had NO idea!) but we could get it close. She was a blast to hang out with, the hour I was in the chair just flew by. And when we were done, my hair turned out PERFECT. ABSOLUTELY PERFECT!!!! No exaggeration, I've been trying to get this look from different stylists for 3 years now. And she NAILED it!! It looked so good my boyfriend was rendered speechless when I showed him. THAT good! In general, I love Ulta. I don't love this Ulta. Why you ask? Because I can never find what I want here. I love NYX cosmetics but for some annoying reason this location is always out of stock for this brand. I come back every month or so to see if it was restocked and of course end up leaving with nothing. I bought the Curl Secret about a week ago (which is amazing, but the way- I'm completely obsessed) and then got an email from Ulta a few days ago that held a 20% discount. I brought my receipt and the sales associate honored this coupon which saved me $20. (okay..the Curl Secret is so worth 100$, but getting it for 80$ makes me pretty happy too). Terrible service! I made an appointment for my mother and to get pampered for a wedding. I finally convinced her to get strip lashes and lip stick. I was coming to get lashes as well as Event make-up. We arrived on time for our appointment, however, when checking in with the stylist she informed us with a major attitude that she doesn't do strip lashes, she doesn't use highlighter and if that's what we were expecting, she couldn't help us. I said, ok who can help us with the services we had an appointment for? So, she just stormed off and didn't come back to let us know..we spoke with the manager who made it seem like we booked the at the wrong store, then it changed into we see your appointment but, it doesn't have any services booked. After a half hour of trying to get seen we ended up getting strip lashes install by a cashier. She did a great job my Mom was still however, very disappointed by the way we were being treated so was I. I didn't get any make-up done and was only meet with a ton of strange excuses why we couldn't be helped. I didn't have any make-up done for the wedding and it totally effected my mood. Had my first Ulta experience today... a color and cut with Kate. I enjoyed it although it's quite different than the Aveda salon that I go to at home. Kate was uber-professional, did a great job and was fun to chat with to boot. I'd give the experience 4.5 if that were an option. I've gone into this store many times just to ogle the makeup. I was particularly happy with a recent experience where I went in with my mom. We were looking for some specific items and Cindy came to our rescue, she was super personable and helpful. I would recommend signing up for their beauty rewards program and taking advantage of the coupons. I'd consider myself a makeup junkie on a budget so I'm always looking for lower price tagged items that still perform well, and I'd say that Ulta has that. read more
