I have scheduled a keratin treatment on two separate occasions. Each time they call me less than a week in advance saying they have no product. I made the appointment more than 30 days in advance. I am really disappointed in the salon management. What are they doing while they are supposed to be ordering products? That is their job, not mine. Earlier that day I went online to purchase some items from Ulta with my coupon. However, later I decided that I would visit the Mercato location personally to ensure I get the products before XMAS. I found out this location no longer carry Kiehl's or MAC so when checking out, so I had 2 out of the 4 products I needed. She took my coupon and I asked if I could pay for the other two products I needed and have them shipped. She told me that my coupon wouldn't be good for either of those products. I responded that I had already almost purchased them online and my cart showed the total discount of 20% on all items including the Kiehls. So I know it would work. She then said, sorry "We don't do rainchecks." What? That is not even the right verbiage considering you don't stock them period. Well Ulta's websites states that stores will do this for you, but I guess this one doesn't want to go the extra mile. read more

I am/was a regular customer at Ulta. I went to the benefit brow bar and waited for 20/30 minutes while another customer was getting her brows and makeup done. The assoc spoke to me and knew I was waiting for her. Another assoc came over after 20 minutes and asked if we needed help and I explained we had been waiting a long time for the brow bar. She said does the assoc know you are waiting for her. I said yes. She came back 5 min later and said the brow girl had left for the day. I had just seen her. The brow bar sign said until 5, it was 3: 30. The mgr said that was just a guideline and I could make an appt for the next day. No thanks. She had snuck out knowing I was waiting for her. I did notice a young man in a suit that came in behind us and waved to her and was skulking around. Maybe this is why she had to leave. I used to get my hair cut and colored there and spend $ 100 + monthly on other stuff. I will have to drive to sephora now but at least they won' t walk out on me. I felt disrespected. read more

For a high end cosmetic/bath & body store I would hope that when someone walks in here they would get outstanding customer service. Well I accompanied a woman into this store, and found that the staff was paying me more attention, than to her. I informed them that she is the one who is here shopping and needed a big ol' bag as she was here to do some damage to my credit card. Well she ended up spending about 45 minutes in the store, spending over $500 in the store, and was only asked once if she needed some help. When she was asked she said "yes, I'm looking for Organix Shampoo". The lady showed here where it was located then walked off. She didn't even offer the simple phrase, "anything else that you are looking for" to provide any more assistance, she just walked away. Pretty crappy service for a high end store as this. read more

I had made an appointment at this location, to have my makeup done for engagement photos. I have read good reviews regarding the makeup artists they had on hand here, and felt confident in seeing someone to provide me with an everyday - maybe a little enhanced around the eyes - look that would last all day (and in the warm sun). The girl I had, and for the sake of being discrete, was very nice, and I felt comfortable with her right away. I showed her a look I was going for, very simple light eye makeup, a little darker and lined around the eye with eyeliner, nice simple contouring (not at all unrealistic) and a simple, nude lip glossy lip. The first thing she said off the bat was "I can't do eyeliner". I thought to myself, OK... no big deal I'll do it myself since I do that every single day anyway. She then proceeded to ask me what I'll be wearing, tried getting to know me which I loved. Then started the makeup. Long story short - the eyes were AWFUL. She picked a mauve colored, heavy dark eye shadow she could not for the life of her blend. I kept repeating the eyes are too dark I look like a raccoon - she reassured me she would fix it. I looked PALE. No blush, no bronzer, no highlighter was used at all. No mascara was used because "I don't have an eyelash curler"? I left immediately - wanting to rush home and fix everything she did. I felt bad, she kept apologizing - but it was truly awful. As sweet and nice as she may have been, she should NOT be applying makeup to anyone. Ever. Please whatever you do... RESEARCH beforehand the person who is doing your makeup - or get a trial. I should have done it myself to begin with - but wanted to have a hassle free day. I love Ulta and will go to them for their products alone and will not use their services due to this event. read more

No employee is going to pay attention to you here unless you look like a wealthy lady in her 50s, looking for a special moisturizer for her yacht outings. I would always go in here looking to spend around $100 or more, and because of the AWFUL customer service, I never do. The customer service here turns what should be a happy and fun experience into a dreadful one. I come in here hopeful that it will be better than last time but I always leave feeling under appreciated and angry. During one of many visits I've taken to this store, I came in to buy dry shampoo and new brow routine supplies. Walked in. Wasn't greeted. Employees just glide past me or chat to each other behind the counter. I get my dry shampoo and head towards the Anastasia brow section. I stood there for almost half an hour, just desperately researching product reviews on my phone, just hoping SOMEONE would come and help give me a second opinion on what colors would be best for me. Well, they never did. The employees just stayed chatting to each other and completely ignoring me. Did I mention there was probably only around 5 other customers in the store? My daughter and I love this place. It's like a candy store for children. So much color and sparkly stuff! We both love to get our brows done at the Brow Bar from Christina. She is FANTASTIC. Best there is. Seriously. I have been in and out of this store on many occasions and do love shopping there. The place is always clean and the employees are very helpful. They should however, not have hours listed for the brow bar as a lot of times no one is there when they should be staffed. Was super excited to get longer styled curtain bangs done for such a reasonable price. After showing the picture to my stylist and clarifying how I would like them done, I walked out with uneven, extremely short bangs with my only option to style them is to pin them back or push them to the side. My hair stylist was extremely nice and definitely had a few years experience but this hair cut definitely turned me off from returning to this ulta beauty hair salon. read more

The service in this location has been terrible since they opened in Mercado, but the latest incident takes the cake as they say. I only go there because they carry the IT brand. I purchased a compact last evening. I wanted to try it when I got home, but found it was broken and pieces fell out of the box(on to a white rug). I returned to the store right away for an exchange. I was asked by someone who might be a manager based on observation, if I would like to "go GRAB another one. Seriously? It was not their fault, but how about a little empathy?! Plus I was being asked to go do what anyone with any sense of customer service skills would automatically do. I have been a faithful Ulta customer having spent thousands of dollars over the years but after my first experience with this location, I know I will not be giving this particular store my business. I am not overly sensitive and very rarely produce the 1-star review. I recently moved here from Atlanta. Before I moved, the girls at the Buckhead location turned me on to the Stila One Step Correct and the illuminating foundation after being a Bare Minerals girl for about a decade. They were always very helpful there and very eager to come over to assist and make suggestions. This past Saturday, I went in looking for that Stila illuminating foundation at this Mercato location. Their Stila selection is a bit limited. I stood over there for a bit making sure I wasn't missing anything. Not only could I not find my foundation, but nobody ventured over to help. There seemed to only be one makeup artist/sales associate floating around (on a Saturday) and she was already helping someone else. I finally gave up and went to the register. This is where I was left truly disappointed with how I was treated. I asked the associate if she carried this particular Stila foundation. The way Stila is spelled, it could easily be interpreted as sounding like "Steel-a" or "St-eye-la". As I was just recently introduced to their products, I was pronouncing it in the latter form. Well, apparently, that isn't the correct way. This girl first told me that she didn't know what I was saying so she couldn't help me--somewhat rude. Then, she finally asked the 2 other associates that were ringing up customers. They knew immediately that I was asking about "Steel-a"--duh. This chick begins to laugh so hard she has to cover her mouth while trying to ring my Mom up the rest of the way. Grow up! Really? I am not going to come here to Ulta to be belittled over makeup products. How about, "I'm sorry, Oh! Stila, let me help you" instead of laughing at me like a stuck up preteen. I am going to take my business elsewhere for a while for my makeup needs. I will probably give them another shot when they open the 951 location. read more

Every time I have called to make an appointment I have been tossed around, placed on hold numerous times and sometimes hung up on. Their manners on the phone are worse then in person. I do like the eyebrow bar. I think the GM needs to come in a make a clean sweep of staff and hire on new and more refined employees... They most likely could use incentives. My expectations were low based on the other reviews, but I took a gamble with the salon on a rainy Saturday afternoon. Plus Points: 90 minutes before my scheduled appointment, I received a call that my stylist was running late and would it be okay to push my appointment 15 minutes. Fine, no problem. Minus Points: 15 turned into 40 minutes. Minus Points: there was no comfortable place to wait, I was told that I could walk around the store. Minus Points: while waiting nearby, one of the same 2 young girls that "checked me in" not 5 minutes earlier asked if she could help me and rolled her eyes at me and rudely retorted when I questioned that she really didn't remember me. I took it a lot lighter than I normally would have since the reviews had me prepared. Plus Points: when finally directed to waiting chairs (uncomfortably close to clients currently in chairs) I was offered water by a friendlier staff member. Plus Points: 3 clients currently finishing up services were very happy with their cuts/color/conditioning and the stylists were very personable. [at this point plusses have canceled out minuses and I'm neutral about the salon]. My particular stylist's performance aren't factored in to my overall rating. I had my hair trimmed and styled. Instead of shampooing, the stylist opted for steam infusion. I'm guessing that was an extra charge because the posted menu of services (I think it was $46 for a cut and style) didn't match my $51 invoice. I had to restyle my hair to add volume when I got home. The makeup application was acceptable, but it took way too long, and that also had to be blended in and toned down at home. Check out was fast and easy, and the cashier was friendly and pleasantly explained their coupon policy and points benefits. I had been their once before looking for a specific item and walked around the styling tools at least 4 times for probably 20 minutes until I found what I was looking for. She is so meticulous and polite, you just don't find people like that anymore. My hair is gorgeous!!!!! For the most part, all of the employees at the Mercato location are so-so; however, one in particular (rhymes with Nichelle, but with an M, is downright RUDE!) I've encountered her twice, and finally had to write a letter to the corporate office, about her treatment. The corporate office had the district manager call me; and offer apologies. However, it's amazing that 'Nichelle' still works in the store. I will continue to shop at this store, but only if necessary. Employees are nice although it's sometimes hard to find them when you need help. Parking is always awful no matter what time of year. Forget parking in front of the store unless it's right when they open. You may be lucky to find a spot over at Whole Foods but still have to walk a short distance. I only ever go to this location if I absolutely have to, otherwise I go to the one at Coconut Point. They are often out of a lot of nail polish colors from Essie, China Glaze, and OPI which is kind of annoying. I've never gotten any salon treatments done here so I don't have opinion on that. Overall, I'd say it's what you'd expect from a chain beauty store but nothing more...and trying to find parking close by the store will drive you nuts! read more
