Knocking out another Ulta location with another health and beauty purchase! All in all this store in of itself isn't really all that different from a number of the other Ulta locations I have been to while exploring health and beauty products that I haven't typically purchased in the past. What I purchased here was from the brand Jack Black and it was a body wash which I have thoroughly enjoyed! It's nice and refreshing as I use it as well as it's fragrance . I am not sure if there is a variety of different fragrances over body wash with this brand as I don't see anything that suggests a fragrance name but in the picture I will provide with my review it should be a good indicator to go on. We took my kiddo to get her ears pierced and unfortunately had a very poor experience with the staff. We had an appointment with "Moriah." She put on gloves but didn't use sanitizer before putting them on, and after she put gloves on she was touching various surfaces, like drawers and paperwork. After marking the ear, she tried to use the piercing gun with two hands, but was very shaky and struggled with the process. At one point, she stopped abruptly and turned to another employee for help, mentioning an issue with the earring back, but didn't explain what was happening. When I asked if the piercing had gone through, she told me it had, which wasn't true. It became clear that the staff didn't know what to do. The last employee who came was holding a shopping bag and didn't clean or sanitize her hands before touching my child's ear. Eventually, I noticed that the piercing hadn't gone through properly, and the plastic part of the gun was still attached. I had to intervene, remove the part myself, and told them we were leaving. I spoke to the manager on the way out, but he only offered cleaning solution without addressing a glaring lack of training for the employees. I would not recommend this location for ear piercings, as the staff lacked professionalism and proper training. Better hygiene practices, clearer communication, and more knowledgeable employees would greatly improve the experience. read more

The worst salon experiences I've ever had. The girl that did my hair was nice and that's my only positive. My hair was to my lower back and I asked for a trim and some facial framing, I left with it to my shoulders. The color was way off as well. My appointment took longer than expected and I understood that timing was an issue, but I went home with so much toner still left it my hair it was greasy. I don't usually get emotional, but tried not to cry the entire rest of the day. It was a super unprofessional environment and I couldn't wait to leave. I would have preferred someone just telling me that they don't have experience working with my type of hair. It's going to take at least a year and a ton of money to correct. Love everything beauty related and love Ulta! 99% of the time I utilize their curbside pickup option which is so convenient. I order from here pretty often usually at least once a month sometimes more. The only negative is sometimes it will say they have a product available online but it ends up being out of stock when I go to pick up my order which is disappointing of course. Another bonus is their rewards program. As a diamond member you get 1.5 points per dollar instead of 1 as well as other added bonuses which is great. Your points can be saved up and redeemed for money off your purchase which is always nice. They also often times offer free gifts with shipped orders which who doesn't love free stuff?! When I utilize their curbside pickup option they are always timely and the workers extremely friendly when bringing out the order. there's only been one Ulta Beauty that I really like to go to, but unfortunately, my location where I live and where this location is, which is Puyallup Washington that I like to go it's too far away to go the ones that I've been going to lately unfortunately have them Olympia and Lacey Washington. No customer service no help no nothing. They don't greet you while they do say welcome into Ulta beauty that's all they say. OK but their customer service sucks all of them except for the Puyallup Washington one at the South Hill mall that is the only one that I've ever really liked the rest of them need to work on your customer service. I arrived like 5 minutes late to my haircut appointment. I was ok with rescheduling, but the hairstylist still saw me. The haircut is not a job I expected from so called specialist. What bothered me the most is that the stylist tells me she's running a little behind schedule and she won't dry my hair. I am paying for full service, so I said, if you don't have the time I don't want the cut. I asked her for how long was I slotted, she said an hour and that she needed about an hour to cut my hair. My daughter was brought here for a trim today. Jennifer (the stylist) did her hair cut that was just suppose to be a trim. Her hair cut was complete trash. Uneven, sloppy, and honestly the worst cut I've seen. When addressed about it the stylist told her dad that she's been a stylist for 30 years and been at Ulta for 2 months. She said my daughter said she liked her cut and didn't offer anything further. When they left her dad called to figure out how to fix the problem since my poor daughter was in tears and so unhappy about her hair; the manager offered to have it fixed for free by Jennifer tomorrow... NOW WHY ON EARTH WOULD I WANT HER TOUCHING MY DAUGHTERS HAIR AGAIN? But her dad agreed to hold the spot until they could get my opinion. Well my opinion was get it fixed asap. He called another location (Lakewood) who offered to kindly fit her in to assess and maybe correct the problem sooner because why make her suffer and feel a certain way about herself because of this stylists lack of ability to TRIM hair. The stylist apparently failed to share this complaint with the salon manager as when I called to ensure something was going to be done about the situation, she was half clueless on it. She knew the bare minimum facts from when my daughters dad called and was offered a spot with that horrible stylist. Jennifer caused my daughter to feel embarrassed about herself and somehow must have thought she did some great job by how she didn't attempt to correctly fix the situation. We cancelled a couple appointments already because of his anxiety. So, when I was getting ready to leave for my appointment and he stepped up and said, "Mom, I'm ready for a haircut". I replied, "PERFECT, I'm on my way there now hop in"!! THE LOOK ON HIS FACE WAS PRICELESS!! "Yep, I'm headed there now for my appointment which I'm giving to you so you can't change you mind". I went to the Ulta Beauty on Marvin Rd Lacey, WA for a scheduled appointment. I was greeted by the person that I made the appointment with, she had me sit down and wait. Then proceeded to have sit in her chair only to tell me that the service she is recommending could not done on the day I scheduled. She wanted me to leave and come back another day. She didn't even try to recommend something in the meantime even if I had to come back in a different occasion, which I wouldn't doing or agreeing to. She then stated she would have her supervisor call me. I waited and received no call. This is the worse Ulta Beauty I have ever dealt with. Usually, the staff is friendly and kind. For reference I'm Hispanic and there were several customers and she kept coming to just check on me after I already told her I don't need help. An agreement was made through Ulta so that Nicole can remove alot of the brassy orange color from my last visit, and give me a more natural looking ash brown! My hair's still some brassy from my last visit, but we agreed to not overdue it and risk me leaving with hair damaged again. I am very confident in Nicole's skill and I know I'll be trusting her with my hair next time. I didn't feel judged my entire time there, in fact I felt understood. That's a huge plus for me. This is the worst Ulta I have ever been into and because of this store I have cancelled my CC and am done shopping with them and will me buying all my beauty needs at Sephora. 3 times over the last 2 months my husband and I have been in there and all 3 times we have been profiled as potential shop lifters (my best friend used to work at Ulta so I know how it works and what they are "trained" on) BY THE SAME GIRL, Hunter. She 1. was rude and 2. both times went over to the only other 1-2 white employees and they all took turns and started following us around the store and every 2 minutes (we timed it) asked if we needed help and would roll there eyes when we nicely said no thanks you we were ok. One time we were in there for MAYBE 20 minutes totally and were asked 13 times if we needed help finding anything. Hunter at one point just walked about 3 steps behind us until we went to check out. Each time we bought over $400 worth of products. All of the all white people/families that walked in there were not treated like us and my husband and I witnessed 2 different times a white person stealing but none of the employees were paying attention to them because they thought we looked more like thieves. So thank you Ulta for yet again training your employees to racially profile people. And I will never be back and will tell all my friends about this. read more

I normally do not leave reviews, but I wanted to share my experience. I always come to this ULTA as it is close to my house. So I come in often to stock up on my frequently used items. The staff are usually welcoming and very helpful and friendly! However recently I feel like the customer service has not been there. It first started when I walked in I was not welcomed into the store, the cashiers were too busy on their phones, then lady checking me out was not very welcoming she had a rude tone in her voice when she spoke to me she was too busy talking to her coworker throughout the transaction and it seemed like she did not want to be there. I just visited this store for the third time, and once again, they did not have the product I wanted in stock. The manager "explained" to me that they have no control over how much product corporate sends them. The second star is because this chain carries the most amazing, beautiful and high quality makeup brushes. I treated myself to the Essential Kabuki, which is perfect for that final dusting of setting powder. So I've been here a few times and didn't get the best service some of the women in there are very snotty and you have to come up to them they don't ask if you need help. BUT today I was assisted by Natassia. She actually stepped away from the register to assist me instead of calling someone else up, she was very patient with my and my cousin who was tax exempt. Sadly I have to write a review on this ulta. My best friend and maid of honor went here today to color match her for my up coming wedding. The lady working today (I didn't get her name sadly) walked over to us and we asked her if she could color match my MOH for my wedding in august. She told us not to touch anything, we apologized, then she said "yeah. Your this." And handed my very dark MOH the 2nd to lightest shade in the tarte color range. She then walked away from us and proceeded to talk loudly about us at the check out counter. My wedding is 40 days away and dealing with inconsiderate people is not something that I'm going to walk away from with out letting others aware so you don't have to stand there in tears like your in high school. They are getting 3 stars only because someone polite finally recognized me and assisted. First time visiting the store. I'm a Sephora member-fan, but I no longer live in Tacoma and thought I would try out Ulta just because I needed something in a pinch. The store has large labels over the sections, so you can easily find the section that you want. No one greeted me when I walked in. I wandered around the store looking for a small organic facial cleanser. Finally I found two that I thought might work and I had to walk around to find a clerk. She was talking to someone else and she looked up and said "yes?" I asked if I could get samples and she replied in a sharp tone, "what is it?!" I showed her the two items and then she informed me that they only give samples of items from certain lines such as Clinique, Lancôme - I don't even remember which lines but they were the big namebrand lines. The two I had selected were from newer lines that looked like they were organic but I wasn't able to get samples. I continued looking around the store and a nicer woman young woman came over and asked if I needed some help, so I explained to her what I wanted. She queried if I wanted cruelty free, organic, or anything else special. She showed me the Ulta brand and a couple of others and I made my decision. Only one checkout was open even though the line behind me was getting longer. When I checked out of course they asked if I wanted to join and I told them no. I think I'll continue to drive into Sephora at Tacoma Mall, where you're cheerily greeted at the door, immediately asked if you need help; and there's always someone who helps you with a smile. read more
