I don't have any Ulta-rior motives for writing this review, and it's not exactly going to be a beauty, but let's try. Barbie's favourite makeup store is also my favourite makeup store, and we come to these whenever we can. Barbie finds a lot of great stuff at good prices, or okay prices, although sometimes it's overpriced it depends on the stuff. A lot of employees are really nice, although that's not always the case. One of the best things about these stores is that Barbie finds a lot of friends who have the same kind of glamorous beauty queen makeup as she does, which obviously is a big attraction for her. Whichever way you look at it these are really really great places to come for makeup. This one is a brand new store way out in the northeast of Houston, in an area that we don't usually go to, but we still love the store and we'll still keep coming here whenever we're in this corner of town. read more

I booked a blowout service at the Ulta salon, but unfortunately my stylist wasn't experienced with 3b/3c curls. I had to part my own hair, and after washing it she told me she couldn't provide a blowout because my hair is curly. She spoke with a manager and came back basically saying there was nothing she could do. I asked two other stylists if anyone else was available, and both said no without asking what the issue was or offering help. When I went to the front to pay, the manager was very kind and went to check with the stylists again. She returned with ALONA, one of the stylists I had spoken to earlier. ALONA was extremely rude and had the worst customer service. She insisted that what I wanted was a silk press, not a blowout. I explained that I knew exactly what I wanted, and it was a blowout. ALONA continued going back and forth with me, speaking in a belittling tone, as she is much much older than I am, claiming a blowout couldn't be done on my hair even though I've had it done many times before. She still demanded I pay for the wash, even though it was part of a service that was never completed due to a stylist's lack of expertise. As a frequent visitor, Alona's attitude and lack of professionalism may keep me from ever returning. read more

A nice greeting upon entrance. Customer service is very nice as they always check if we need any help. They have some good deals going on now for Christmas. There are plenty of choices of beauty and care items. Some of the quantity is low. I wanted 6 lip gloss for my friends gift and there were only 2. Sold out means it's a very good item. read more

Horrible customer service. Came to the cashier with only 3 items to purchase, we had to wait a few minutes while she took care of a curbside order, no problem! When I swiped my brand new gift card, nothing happened. She told me to keep swiping, I did. Nothing was happening so I looked at her and said it's not working and she said "there's nothing I can do. You have to wait till it times out, just keep swiping it." First of all, anyone with two brain cells knows that you can absolutely type in the gift card information at any establishment that accepts gift cards. But OK whatever, I keep swiping like an idiot, waiting for the system to "time out" which it never did. By this time, there's a full-blown line waiting behind me while I'm just expected to keep swiping forever with no solution. I was literally laughing and looking at my boyfriend like "how stupid is this? " that lasted until he finally got annoyed and just canceled the transaction and paid with Apple Pay. He shouldn't have needed to pay for me as I had a fully functional gift card, but the lovely employee at the front didn't feel the need to do her job. If you don't want to do the bare minimum customer service, just find a new f*ing job! read more

Stacy did my hair. I'm not trying to be rude she was very nice and made good conversation but I made it very clear I only wanted half an inch to an inch off my hair and she took an easy 3-4 inches off. My hair looks nice but I'm honestly very upset with her not listening to me communicating I want to keep my length for an event I have coming up and now I'm missing a lot of my length. I've gotten my hair washed, cut, and styled on multiple occasions. Never a specific stylist as they all do phenomenal job. I always walk out happy with my hair! My was able to maintain my most recent blow out for 7 days without adding additional heat! read more

Right when I get there and call for the curbside service, the lady on the phone was extremely rude to me and wouldn't bring it out. Then I had to go inside and wait 15 minutes. Horrible Horrible Experience! Black people Beware!! My children and I were racially profiled in this store and followed around by security. My 13 year old son felt very uncomfortable being followed that closely. Security guard kept circling back around to check on us to the point when I turned the other way down the aisle I almost bumped straight into him. It was very obvious! I confronted him and asked why he was following me - he said "that's kinda my job." Wrong answer Sir! I spoke to his supervisor who said that's absolutely not his job. I've reported him to his superiors at the security company and talked to the manager Tonia, who needs better training in customer service. I haven't shopped in this store for a while and now I understand why Amazon is what it is today! Well they lost a customer for life and some money because I happily ordered from Amazon. Also, I'm starting a business and looking for good quality and trained security companies. I know who will not make the list (see Security company below) . Wonderful location!! Not exactly sure how long this location has been open but it is very clean and well stocked. I have stopped in a couple times now and every single time I have employees that come up asking if I need anything. It is refreshing since a lot of location you can't ever find anyone to help you. I had my hair done the other day by Angel and he did a FANTASTIC job!!!! The overall process took about 3 hours just due to the amount of color change but he made the experience so much better. He is moving locations once the one in Humble opens back up but it is closer to me and I will be following him for sure!! I have noticed since the closest location has been closed this one has remained pretty busy and the line was wrapped down the side of the store, which I have never seen before. The made sure to have enough employees checking customers out that the wait was under 10 minutes, which I thought was pretty amazing due to the amount of people! I'm in town visiting family I called and got a same day apt with no issues. Originally was scheduled with Trina the salon manager but another costumer cancelled and she asked if I would mind filling one of her stylist seats. I didn't mind since they squeezed me in. Corienne cut, dyed and styled my hair. She did an excellent job. I'm impressed with the way Trina mentored the younger stylist around her. I wanted to schedule a facial because a friend recommended I try them out. I called because there were too many options online and I was unsure of what to book as it was my first appointment. Monica answered my call and was super helpful in taking my information and getting me scheduled. I didn't know she was the esthetician and that my appointment would be with her, but she was warm and ready to assist when I arrived. I filled out my questionnaire and followed Monica to the room where my facial would take place. I immediately noticed the pleasant aromas as Monica explained the procedure and instructions. I appreciate how kind and knowledgeable she was. She walked me through each part of the process so that I would be aware and comfortable. I love this Ulta! They're sweet and always are helpful when I'm there. It's clean and even if you can't find whatever you're looking for in the store, they have this electronic thingy(tablet or phone) that you can use to get free shipping and it's delivered to your house. This is the closest location to my house, so I have been often!! ALOT. And everytime I have gone in there is no help. NEVERR any napkins or applicators. Never restocked products. If you need to find a product good luck because you either won't have any help or they won't have it. Idk who does restocking and ordering here because it's never done. This store is extremely dirty. Also the "manager" with the shaved head is extremely rude and has no interpersonal communication or customer service skills. I have a bad experience everytime I come. I recommend choosing another location. This location is very disappointing and the management is poor. I promise I have been so many times !!! I always give it a chance and it gets worse each time.
