On December 20th I went and bought a bunch of things at this location. A couple of weeks later, I realized that one of the eyeshadows that I bought was actually an empty box. I called and wanted a refund but they wouldn't do that. I was required to go back to the store with my empty box so they could exchange it and force me to take the eyeshadow that I no longer wanted. I went into this store looking to make a few purchases. When I was checking out the associate asked for my email or phone number to which I politely declined. She then asked me to enter someone else's information which seems very dishonest. When I said I don't know anyone else and would be uncomfortable giving away their info she told me I could make something up. Again very dishonest. I told her that she can put her info in if it's that important to which she said was against their policy--but someone making up a phone number or entering someone else's info without their consent was not. I told her to please proceed with my purchase. She the told me that all sales were final without providing my personal information information which is absolutely false per the ULTA corporate website and return policy. I even told her this is inconsistent with other stores and she became very snarky and told me that is the policy. There were other associates right there and none stepped in to assist. The associate became so rude I decided to take my business elsewhere. I submitted a complaint about this store to the corporate office and also to Better Business Bureau. To lie about the return policy is ludicrous because it's literally on the website AND I've retired products with just a receipt before. Avoid this location like the plague. read more

I'm just thankful being out of town and having an order already to go made things go a little smoother I'd say? Not sure but I needed flat irons and didn't have time to fix my hair before our flight left so I ordered them for pickup at this location and we drove here to grab them when we landed in Texas. Staff were decent to me. They didn't greet us coming in, but I was able to hop in line and grab my order. I also found that this location didn't have many chi hair spray options. Only like texture spray etc. in addition, I could not find any mousse! That was a little disheartening but nonetheless staff were pleasant, I got what I needed and would return if I had to. Ulta - please figure out how people who order online for pickup, won't have to stand in long lines. It's pretty annoying! I have been coming here for a couple of years to get my hair styled. Unfortunately, the stylist who formerly cut my hair is no longer there. I made the HUGE mistake of trusting someone else, who has no idea how to cut fine hair. Of course, it looked fine when I left. With the amount of products in my hair, it should have! But when I tried to style it at home, it looked TERRIBLE! I went back to get it "corrected," only to have more of my hair cut off and more layering added, even after I said NO LAYERS!!! It's supposed to be cut so it flips up in the back. Uh, NO! It does NOT! My hair now looks like a haystack that was machete cut, regardless of what I do. I will not trust this salon again. It will take me a couple of YEARS to grow my hair back! read more

This Ulta location is so convenient, and a recent visit to the salon prompted this review. I gifted a loved one a series of hair services with Maria C , and she was thrilled! Her color and cut looked just right for her. She was so happy! Thank you, Maria C. in the salon. We'll be back! I have been a more regular customer at this location in recent years, and it is usually solid. I have not had to wait terribly long when picking up online orders or shopping in person. I usually come in on weekdays, so it might be different during rush times like the weekend. The store is clean and well stocked the vast majority of the time. The staff are usually helpful and pleasant, though I have definitely been left waiting a time or two by chatty cashiers catching up with each other when I walk up to pay. But overall, it is no different in my experience than any other beauty store (including higher end department stores). I recommend ordering online for pick up when possible and going in on a slower day for a more personalized, calm experience. The staff are usually helpful, but dont expect to be treated like a queen walking into her coronation ceremony here (or any other beauty retailer). So... You come in and no one greets you. They have a busted boxes and items and act like you shouldn't be alarmed that they're trying to sell them. There're employees who stand right in front of your face and talk to each other instead of trying to help you and you wander around aimlessly trying to find things because they keep changing their layout. You have to physically go to them and audibly ask for help before they even think of helping you. What happened to this location? They really had some people here back in the day that loved to help and we're excited about their jobs. read more

Booked a haircut with Rhonda at 12:30. She told me she needed to blow out her last customer but that she's "quick" and will start on my shampoo. She started on my shampoo and then left me with product in my hair at the sink for over an hour, never checking in. When I asked someone to just wash out the product, they told me no and that Rhonda will be with me in 15 minutes. Had to contact the manager to get someone to wash out the product so I could leave. By 2:00 Rhonda was still working on the other client's hair. She should've been honest about being that far behind schedule and offered a reschedule instead of leaving my hair full of product in the sink for over an hour. Will never be returning read more

The worst experience I have ever had at Ulta. This location is absolutely horrible no one greeted me at the door, it was disgusting, and employees and management were rude. I showed management a picture ID for my points and they said I can't use the points because the name didn't match my ID even when I shown them a picture of a valid ID with a matching name they still didn't let me use my own points. The lady kept rolling her eyes at me and management didn't accept the picture ID as valid. I have never been ask to show my ID to use my own points. Simple wash and condition and round brush blowout. Girl I'm 38 yrs old , with a head full of thick coily colored haired. Of course I know the difference between the two. I'm making sure YOU know the difference and can perform. I could tell in the wash she hadn't had her license long. She didn't scrub or cleanse with her fingers but with her palms. My hair felt halfway clean which is why as soon as I sat back down in the chair and she attempted to part my hair I stopped her immediately. I said what product did you use because it felt heavy nothing like heat protectant. She didn't even detangle my hair properly just clamped it into 4 lumps. How does a cosmetology board let ppl leave with paperwork under these circumstances? It honestly could have been a teachable moment had she been open to learning and eager to listen. Instead she stomped off to get a black stylist to interact. The black stylist pointed out what she was doing wrong and showed her precisely what I told her. Detangle with a paddle brush then dry me with a roller round. I have a burn in the middle of my damn head because of this lady. I ran my fingers thru my head and could tell it was heavy and puffy. I took my daughter here for a cut, style, and bleach job just to the lower layer of her hair as shown in the sample photo. This is the same photo that was shown to her stylist, Kitty. I did not request this stylist she was assigned to us. Even after Kitty tried to correct HER mistakes this is what my daughter is left with after 5 HOURS of being here!!! . When we entered we were greeted immediately and everyone was super friendly. I came back to the THIS SPECIFIC store because of the way I treated a while back. For the second time I was able to find Macie to help with EVERYTHING and she not only helped me but I recommended her to someone else and she LOVES Macie now. She drove 5 hours to get her advice/recommendations instead of using her own Harlingen store. Macie and the rest of the people we met around the store did an amazing job making us feel welcomed. They helped us out and answered all questions. Their typical reply is "well we don't have that, but we can order it for you and have it delivered in 5 days" as if that's an acceptable solution. I had a very unpleasant experience with the poor excuse of a manger "Ricky". I have an associate discount and when I came to the counter I asked for a manager since it's an associate sale. Ricky comes up and takes my phone number, asks me for my id and proceeds to ask me which store I work at and I say it's a FAMILY MEMBER who works here not me, he starts arguing with me saying I cant use MY discount that I've been using for years I have have them buy it so I said okay... I've used it for years but whatever he gives me the number of someone higher up to call so I take the number and walk outside. Walked back inside because the handwriting was unclear and he told me the correct number and proceeded to argue with me saying I cant use my "cousins" discount and when I said I never said cousin, because it's my wonderful mother who's worked for this company for 10+ years, instead of apologizing he argued me down say I said cousin and kept repeating It. I have literally stood in the same aisle for 30 minutes without an employee ever asking me if I needed assistance while at least 5 employees have seen me standing there. The employees are just not helpful, and many are rude when you do ask for assistance. The products are not the issue - it's the employees and the lack of customer service. I only shop here for convenience, as it is easy to purchase and return items if they don't work. However, every time I visit I'm reminded how much I dislike the experience because of how terrible the employees are at (1) just asking a person if they need help and (2) lacking in product knowledge. read more

I like the variety of Pacifica products in this location. I like Pacifica because it's a cruelty free brand and I like having my options open. Also there's a small section with many Korean products, for those who don't want to drive all the way to china town.
