This review is for the manager Mary and a very negligent and apparently ego fragile stylist "Andrea." First of all, I have never seen a more cowardly act by a manager in my 59 years on this planet. My wife who has for years been a customer at this establishment mainly getting her hair colored by an amazing stylist named Milan. For years she has paid to get a hair coloring without experiencing any issues with Milan and on a few occasions other stylists. On the day of the incident she had to settle for a stylist named Andrea because Milan was not available that day. Never having any bad experiences, she thought what the heck and gave her a chance. However, this would not be the case with Andrea, she was unprofessional and actually harmed my wife with her negligence and an unwillingness to listen to the customer's needs. She repeatedly claimed the way Milan whom has successfully colored her hair for years was doing it incorrectly! Andrea and her flawed ego failed the number one ethos in customer service "listen to your customer." She left her with chemicals in her hair way too long and was negligent in her attention to the process. My wife was so upset when she came home with an incomplete hair coloring and burns because of the chemicals left on her head by Andrea. My wife has always rewarded great customer service with great tips and verbal praise. I ask this question: Why for the first time over all the years of being a regular customer was there all of these issues with this stylist? At the moment this was happening our cowardly manager Mary "claimed she understood why my wife was upset and claimed she was out of practice but could possibly help." My wife did decide to leave to mitigate the damage as she was upset and experiencing burns. Weeks later she decided to try to book her regular stylist Milan only to be told that the Ulta manager Mary is banning my wife from coming back even to her regularly scheduled stylist Milan, and stating "Andrea's confidence was shaken by the event" which by the way Andrea caused herself with her ego and negligence!! WTF?? Mary, it is called remedial training in the corporate world and I am not sure that your manager handbook says to ban longtime, loyal paying customers from coming back. I am certain that is probably not what the store owner or corporate Ulta envision as an appropriate course of action or solution to the incident. My wife is a very understanding person and the fact that there has never been an issue over the many years until this incident with Andrea suggests the problem is not with the customer but perhaps with your employee. I am writing this review on my own experience based on what I saw and the incredibly inappropriate decision to ban my wife from her normal stylist Milan. Mary your decision to ban her is a big mistake on your part and I can guarantee you this is not where it ends. I will be diligent in ensuring I have this discussion with whatever form of leadership above you. I am retired with 36 years of service in the United States Military that has nothing but time and motivation to ensure your bad management decisions are held accountable. My wife has no idea that I am writing this review but I do know she is upset and angered by your cowardly management practices and would rather have seen you make the appropriate decision to discuss the situation with her like a rational and competent manager would in order to solve the problem. Usually no one really wants to help a 70 year old pick a new eye shadow or anything (they kind of look at you like nothing could help you lol). So imagine my delight when they actually helped me pick eye products for my specific eye color. The associate (wish I would have got her name) was so helpful and really caring. I will be going back to this particular store again and again. The counter gal was extremely cheery and helpful as well. Went to this location looking for a specific sunscreen . Store was a little busy but not unmanageable. Thought I could locate the product on my own but after waking each aisle twice no luck. Probably spent 10 minutes in the store looking. Not once was I acknowledged. No welcome in, can I help you find something, nothing. If the store was busy, I could understand why. It wasn't that busy. The two young girls standing behind the counter couldn't be bothered as they were giggling and having what seemed to be a personal conversation. The one person on the floor who appeared to be an employee, looked at me twice but never uttered a single word. Guess this location is doing so well that they can afford to throw any inkling of customer service to the wind. This speaks volumes about store management. With all the people looking for work these days, it's sad that this is the best Ulta Beauty can do. Maybe corporate or district management should make an unannounced visit to see first hand how this location is managed. Wouldn't surprise me if this location just becomes an empty store front with a for lease sign. I was really disappointed with my experience at this Ulta salon. I had an appointment booked for a specific time, but I ended up waiting over an hour before being seen. I had already walked out by the time they were calling me because it was taking way to long. The salon also felt very disorganized, and messy. There weren't enough chairs for clients to wait comfortably. Appointments should be respected, and if there's going to be a long delay, customers should be informed ahead of time. Her upbeat, friendly attitude made the whole experience fun and easy--she's great at listening to your boundaries and guiding you when you're undecided (like I was). This is for their salon and their stylist named Milan. Went there for a full highlights. I already had partial highlights and also just needed my roots highlighted. I showed a photo of my goal and told her that i understood even if I don't reach that lightness, Im ok but since she's bleaching then it should be at least a shade or two lighter. While doing my hair, she kept on saying it would look good. When a stylist repeatedly tells you this, 90% of the time it will look bad. I should have walked out but I didn't. My worst decision!She ruined my hair so bad! See photos (except last photo) as proof taken right after, still at ulta! The Manager was accommodating and kind. You can tell she knew how bad it was. Milan also was very dismissive, sighing the whole time as if I was overreacting. Here's my take. I care abt people but when you work, SHOW UP and DO YOUR BEST! Whatever happens to you in private is private for a reason! I spent more than $500 to have this fixed. I'm looking into suing Milan and still working on that now but please, do yourselves a favor. Do not let Milan touch your hair...at all! Unless you want your hair ruined. Even the haircut was so bad my stylist had to show me how she chopped off the back of my hair. Photo was taken by my stylist before she did anything else with that cut (last photo). It will also show how badly she ruined the back. Milan doesn't even know how to cut hair! I don't know why she even has 5 star reviews. I don't know why she is even employed at Ulta. Photos show proof. I wasn't charged for it but this service should only be $150 for full highlights according to the stylist I went to after. Since it's a color correction, plus a cut I had to spend 3x that price. Color is perfect after it's been fixed by another but she couldn't do much about the hair cut. It was chopped off so bad that she could only soften the layers. I went to grab an order I placed online. I didn't have my ID as my son lost it out of my wallet was waiting on my new one. I had my order confirmation, my email, the same card, and a picture of my ID they said they wouldn't give me my $20 order without it. So ridiculous I just drove 20 mins to get here. I had two appointments at this Ulta location, eyebrows and hair. I had my eyebrows done with Jackie. She was wonderful. She opened up about herself and I did too. She was helpful with any questions I had. I only wish they had provided some Aloe Vera without me having to ask. She did make sure to go above and beyond and add makeup to my red areas. Which now come to think of it, I am unsure if it was a tester bottle. If it was I am unsure if that was what contributed to my major break outs. Next up, I had a keratin treatment with Milan. She went above and beyond during the hair process. A major plus is she was honest about my prior haircut and how it was chopped. She was kind enough to work on my layers which were non existent. I only wish there was an after care paperwork or shampoo or serum samples to take home. I had no prior knowledge of how to take care of my hair so I left without knowing how to take care of my hair, my only knowledge was knowing 3 days after the treatment I could not wash it. The elite stylist recommend L'Oréal Ever Pure even though I don't have color treated hair. Unfortunately, my hair looks like it reverted back to its old ways. I am hoping I can purchase a better Keratin shampoo and serum since I had no recommendations or aftercare paperwork. read more

Randomly came into this Ulta because I was in the area and had the time. I didn't exactly come in with anything in mind to buy other than checking out the nail polish section. I was shocked when we walked in that we were greeted at the door. I don't know if I have ever experienced this in an Ulta. It was nice to have though so there's that. This particular store is clean and organized pretty well but I felt it was a bit tight. My normal Ulta is on Stephanie and it feels bigger even though I'm sure it's not. I had been coming here for a couple years now driving from mountains edge and seeing the same stylist . The last time I went I made an appointment directly with the stylist through text message and everything was fine but when I showed up to my appointment a couple days later she wasn't there, didn't answer my texts and no one answered my call. I tried to check in and they said "oh she just left like an hour ago (..an hour before my morning appointment?) she said she called you this morning to reschedule, she's sick." I never received a phone call or text, she and the Ulta salon just ghosted me the day before my birthday. Also if she was sick then why would she come in just to call me from the work phone. I showed the manager my call log and the no reply to my text and explained that I had driven 40 minutes with traffic for nothing basically. No one offered any solutions just blinked at me and basically said "i'm sorry theres nothing we could do" didn't even offer anything for next time. She is the rudest person I have ever encountered at any store. She never acknowledges or greets customers. Went in to purchase a product, I knew the brand I wanted and just needed advise on which shade works best. (Was prestige Makeup section ) The makeup rep immediately bad mouthed the brand I picked and recommended a more expensive brand. When I told her I don't want to spend that much and wanted to look more, she then bad mouthed the drugstore makeup section, saying it's for "teenie boppers" And full of chemicals. I went in for a haircut; I wanted something to help me feel better. I got my hair cut & full highlights, the color was beautiful but the cut was horrible! Before even making the appointment I spoke with the stylist about my struggles finding someone who can cut mix textured hair cause my hair ranges from straight to wavy to curly. She told me she had been cutting hair for awhile, she had experience with mix textured hair & the blonde I prefer. I felt good & scheduled for the next day. Coloring went great! Cutting my hair did not, at all. My hair was cut shorter than I asked (cutting off 8 inches) & ALL of my waves & curls were GONE! She curled my hair & only allowed me to see the final result after she curled & styled it (covering up everything). After showering I noticed all my texture was gone, my hair was cut so uneven, it looked like any curl was just cut off leaving a chunky cut, not straight. The layers are not blended at all. My hair looked like old chipped stairs. Everytime I looked in the mirror I would cry, I would have to wake up at 5am every day to style my hair just to gain some confidence back. I stopped taking pictures of myself, all my confidence was gone. I still cry when I look in the mirror or think about it, I regret my choice so much, it's affected my mental health & daily life. I went to talk to the stylist when I gained the courage to & she saw me then went to the back room, I waited in the store for 30 minutes before going back to cry in my car. read more

Ashley at the salon is amazing!!! Finding a hairstylist that I'm comfortable letting touch my hair is very hard. I recently moved from Florida and had a horrible experience at a no-name salon when I first moved here. I met Ashley at Ulta and immediately knew she could do what I want. Ashley is such a sweet, down to earth woman. Sitting in the salon for 5-6 hours (I have very high maintenance hair) makes for a long day, but Ashley and her awesome attitude alway makes it a good time! It was honestly horrible! One week blond and I was over it! And here comes Lauren to save my day! Today being my 21st birthday of all days. I desperately needed a cut and highlights before my vacation and am new to the area. I was able to book an appointment right away with Milan. She finished in record time [1 hour and 45 min] which was a red flag to me. It NEVER takes less than three hours to do my hair. She gave me a few highlights and some layers, curled my hair and it looked great!! Three days later I washed and straightened my hair it is completely chopped up.
