I really wanted to love my experience here because everyone seemed kind and the space itself looked nice. But I left feeling disappointed. I took before pictures of my hair with anticipation to get a nice after shot. I honestly felt pretty lame when I left the salon that I didn't take any pictures of my hair. Ideally I love to go out with my hubby after a hair cut, not this time. I came in with an inspiration photo and unfortunately my hair didn't turn out like what I had in mind. It ended up being more of a basic trim to remove dead ends (which I did need), followed by a blow dry. I was hoping for a bit more attention to styling. I've been struggling to find a salon where they offer to curl or straighten your hair after a cut. That way you can really see the finished look, but that wasn't offered here. I had an appointment this morning at 9 am for cut, style and color highlights, it took more than a week for the hair stylist, Inna, to have an opening. I arrived at the salon at 8:55 and someone at the front desk told me she would come get me when she was ready for me. I waited until 9:20. Two other stylists were working with clients and one item went to the back to see if my stylist had arrived. Nope, she was not in the building. I left. I made sure I woke up early this morning, washed and dried my hair in prep for the appointment and the stylist was a no show. This business says it charges for last minute cancellations; what do they offer the customer when an appointment is cancelled for them? I won't be back. Went to lala (Yolanda Rodriguez) again and of course she's a 10/10! Everyone is so friendly and the salon is super nice. Yolanda doesn't rush. She cares that my hair is done right and it stays healthy. She never pressures me to cut my hair and she's constantly showing me the brush so that I can see that I'm not losing any hair (I have a fear of my hair falling out after a traumatic experience in 2018). I have pretty crippling anxiety but lala makes all of that go away. I won't let anyone else touch my hair. She is so loving and kind and compassionate. I was long over due for a hair cut and my hair was long and straggly. I had moved into Henderson for almost a year and still trying to reestablish all of my new contacts and people to help me look presentable to life. Kennedie was available in 15 mins I immediately jumped on that and drive over. I was greeted immediately and put into the salon chair to align on what was needed then to the shampoo chair- the shampooing experience was great and smelled so nice. My cut was exactly what I asked for and I wasn't looked down upon for having straw hair!! I'm very disappointed with the direction of this salon. First my hair stylist was pushed out. Then my nail person was, in my opinion, wrongfully terminated for complete nonsense that is not fireable offenses. I have witnessed the toxic and hostile work environment she was in firsthand. I cannot believe the owner would be cowardly enough to leave a termination letter at her station a week before Christmas. Shame on the owner. I've gone to several manicurists since I moved to Henderson. I found them all lacking, and the lack of cleanliness is a big deal for me. Yesterday I tried this Salon, and Maria did my nails What a huge difference! Instead of sitting in a line, I was led to a cubby with only two stylists per. Maria used healthier products on my nails that I had never experienced before. She also fixed two of my nails. Her desk was very clean! PERFECT!!! And she is a pleasure to visit with.. I'm going back for a pedicure next week. What does it matter to save a few bucks if you get mediocre results and a chance of infection because workstations are not kept clean? I had the great pleasure to meet Yolanda Rodriguez. She's new to the salon but has years of experience. I wanted a J-Lo cut with long bangs. We discussed my hair, the cowlicks and the split ends. She recommended where she would cut my hair in the back due to damage and then she went to work. She washed my hair gently. Yolanda took her time cutting my hair, checking constantly to ensure my hair was laying correctly. She dried my hair explaining what she was doing so that I could emulate it at home. Prior to meeting May my hair was very, very over-processed and a lot had fallen out. ** Before meeting May** Rather than the blonde color I wanted, my hair was orange- yellow with lots of blochy areas of a darker blondish brown. It was so bad a few friends asked if I did my own hair. Thankfully, May completely transformed my hair in one treatment. I just saw her for the second time and the difference in my hair is amazing. My sister went to this salon, and was a frequent client there until about two weeks ago. She had Mia, who she trusted with her hair. She asked for a deep red with dark cherry highlights and came out with whole different colors that were completely unblended. My 7 year old daughter could have done a better job at achieving what was asked for. This was absolutely messy. My sister had to end up going to a whole new salon and dying it BLACK to get this horrid color out of her hair. On top of that, when she wasn't happy; she attempted to contact the salon and who did her hair and Mia read the messages but refused to respond to fix it. Unprofessional and does hair that's 3/10 if that. This type of "work" deserves a refund. I personally haven't been there for a service. But I was in a TOTAL bind when it came to having my daughters hair in a high and tight bun for her recital along with stage makeup. As I am not great (nor at all good) at doing that. Rachel, who was referred to me by Samantha a friend I used to work with helped me out and got my 4yo daughter in for her hair & makeup. Just had my not-really-that-long-awaited-but-felt-like-forever hair transformation with Lexi and she is a hair magician of lore! I can't stop bragging about it, I've seriously never had a more successful hair service than this in my life. I will let the photos speak for themselves, but let me also post a few things that I loved about Lexi: -She was extremely personable and put together. It's reassuring to see someone who's job is to make you look better also take care if themselves! I've seen hair stylists with ratty hair and it darn right confuses me. -She respected and preserved the length of my hair. Most hair stylists I've been to (not many) have eyes my hair and had this look of "oh no" and try to convince me to cut it shorter. Or they get a look of "oh yes" and whip out their scissors and try to convince me to cut it shorter. Lexi was all on board with keeping as much length as possible even without me saying anything. I just loved that. -She asked pertinent questions on how I usually handled my hair (how often I wash it, how I usually style it, etc) to help me get the most out of my new hair and gave me advice on how to take care of it (purple shampoo). She also asked how often I would go to the salon so she could choose the right style that would last longer between services. -She stays up to date on fashion trends! I don't really do this, but I appreciate her staying on top of what's in rather than only doing the same thing all the time. - She filled me in on each step of the process because I admire the work that goes into styling hair and I have mad respect for what she does and I'm always open to learning more about how she does it! -Price was very reasonable!! Only $150. I tipped 20% on top of that. I probably should've tipped more considering such as awesome job she did but 20% is what google said was standard lol (I don't salon often, ok?) -she took photos of my hair in natural sunlight so that I could have the best view of my hair shade and be completely satisfied before I left. She also helped take my photos in sunlight so I could share them right away! Other non-Lexi related things: -Bathrooms are clean and smell lovely. I think hey have changing or breastfeeding rooms? -There's complimentary coffee and water. -There's online appointment booking available. Conclusion: I am hooked! I'm definitely coming back. So I just moved into the area and really needed a haircut. Looked on Yelp and found Cielo, which was just 5 minutes from my house. Called in on the morning for an appointment in the afternoon. They take their precautions to the COVID-19 seriously and there's no waiting area available for people that aren't there to get a haircut. Everyone is required to keep their masks on at all times. There are also curtains to divide the hair washing stations. So I got Sarah as my stylist and she was very attentive to my needs. I wanted to keep my hair long but just trim the edges and maintain the layers I had. She was very helpful and informative too! Overall was a very friendly experience and get comfortable.
