So I went to ulta to get my hair highlighted for the third time as I am trying to slowly go lighter. It was Sunday and I was impatient so I went to ulta thinking, "it's a beauty store so I'm sure it will be great!". Oh man was i wrong! First of all when I got there no one was around to help me, so finally someone told me to sit in a chair and Hannah (my stylist) would be with me. She got there finally and started up on my hair. Everything was going fine and I was happy. Then when I was finished it wasn't really what I had wanted but it was fine. At least my hair was lighter. Then I get to the cash register, they charged me 175 dollars!!!!! Now mind you I had called a week before my appointment to set it up and ask how much it would cost. The woman told me it depends but around 80 to 100 dollars. That was perfectly fine because that's how much it was everywhere else I had gone. Anyways, when I got home I was devastated. My hair looked horrible! She wasn't even close to my roots and I have black hair so that was extremely noticeable! On top of it, all of where the highlights started were completely crooked and just looked like something my husband could have done for 20 dollars with box color. I was so upset and embarrassed. So I called back and told them what had happened and the manager told me that I would need to wait 2 weeks before I could come get it fixed. Okay... whatever. So I make my appointment with Hannah to get it done 2 weeks and a day later. I walk in for my appointment and saw Hannah and other employees gossiping and staring at me as I walk in. Talk about rude! So I get in the chair and she tells me that the INCH of black roots is normal for 2 weeks after getting my hair done! Well that's a bunch of bologna because if that were true my hair would be down past my butt in 6 months and I haven't cut 8th in over a year! Moving on, I then said to her uh nooo, this is how it was when I got home from my appointment. So THEN she says well it's our policy that we can only fix it for free 1 week after the initial appointment. I was like no I called and your manager told me I needed to wait 2 weeks. So she said okay. Then I ask her why the heck she didn't go down to me roots. Her response was "we get as close to the root as possible but if we get all the way to the root it will bleed". Well hmm I don't think so lady, ur just a terrible hairdresser! So throughout the whole root "touch up" processes it was silent. Then when I'm under the dryer I ask Hannah to get me there store policy considering they use that as there go to excuse for laziness. The store assistant manager comes back to me and asks me what I want the policy to say! I was like you have got to be kidding me!!! She then says she doesn't care if I come back to that store and the salon manager will fax me there policy when she gets back. This was just the worst experience of my life. On top of all that, my roots look just as bad as they did before just blonder. U can see every little line where she slopped on the bleach. I look ridiculous. I'm so upset I've gone through all this trouble and they get to keep nearly 200 dollars of mine. I called back tonight after my appointment and complained again and she said she will have the salon Manger call me on Thursday. Whatever. This is just horrible they treated me terribly and was made to feel so uncomfortable. Will never ever step foot in there again to buy anything! read more
