I wanted to cut my hair a bit shorter, and Ashley took her time to not cut off too much at once and made sure I was still happy with the length. After a couple trims all around, I took almost 4 inches off. I'm so happy with how much lighter my hair feels, and the cut and layering looks great! Ashley also took time to put in some nice curls for style, and gave my make-up a touch-up at the end of our appointment. The salon is very clean and is in a great location downtown. I'm interested to go back next time to get a pedicure and manicure as well. Refreshments are offered at the beginning of appointments. The salon uses Davines products for hair care, which are all-natural and smell great. I purchased the Oi All In One Hair Milk that is great for heat protection and blow-drying. Would highly recommend this salon!

When making the appointment, I should've been told I was getting someone in training whose work needed to be evaluated. Maggie didn't say a word when evaluated. She offers the level of service I am used to in bigger cities, while honoring the cool Millwork District vibe I've come to love here. She's small town, Midwest friendly, yet big city skills and expertise. She spent over an hour learning about my hair, my lifestyle needs and made recommendations based on her understanding of my hair type. Her technical skill and attention to detail are on point and reflect her 20 years of experience. You will love the beautiful space she's created, the yummy drinks, the quality of service, and the price point. I have thin, fine hair the flips in different directions. She achieved the perfect bob pictured with an undercut and cutting while wet, then again once dry. I can't wait to go back for a more daring cut now that I found my stylist in Dubuque. 100/5 stars!

To make a VERY long story short- everyone's hair ended up so disappointing that the second we left we made last minute appointments at another salon across town. My stylist was so out of shape that she had to sit in a rolling desk chair in order to do my hair. I had seen how the other updos had turned out before me, so I decided to have them style it down. She kept asking me to lean my head sideways so she could reach the top of my head (remember, shes sitting in a chair) and instead of washing my hair- she caked on hair spray and held the straightener down onto my hair for way too long. It caused so much damage to my ends that she seriously asked me if she could cut my hair...?!? No thank you! I was done by that point. I had asked her to stop and we left. Regardless of the hair, the wedding was outstanding. Although- receiving a beautiful hairstyle the first time we tried would have been great.

However, it was early in the morning and I kind of just wanted to "relax" and I think my hair stylist picked up on that and just styled my hair. The cost of my hair was $40 and stayed in all night. I showed the girl a Pinterest picture and she recreated it perfectly. Also, there is a little store attached to the salon. They have lots of cute, trendy clothes for affordable prices. Oh they sell jewelry as well. Many bridesmaids picked up some cute jewelry to go with their dresses. Overall, I would definitely come back! The girls give you a small town salon feel (like you can tell them your life problems and they are there to listen). Such a fun morning!
