I miss Ulta! I used to come here all the time! Ulta sells everything you could possibly want or need for your beauty needs. They sell skincare, hair care, nail hygiene, makeup, perfumes, and styling products as well as accessories. I like that the store is divided by the more affordable things and the high-end items. I use a mix of products, so you will find me on both sides of the store. It just depends on what I need that time. I recently came looking for some hair accessories. My puppy chewed up one of my headbands and I was looking for a replacement. I found one! And I grabbed some Bobby pins and hair clips. Just what I needed! Service was good. The manager here is hands down one of the most unprofessional leaders I've ever seen. She was taking a phone call at the front of the store near the cash wrap, speaking to an employee and telling her that she will need to cut her shift. She then starts reprimanding her for her performance and many other things. She was speaking VERY loudly, almost as if she wanted guests / other staff to hear the conversation. Once the phone call ended, she began speaking poorly of the employee to someone else, citing that the employee has an "attitude". This is extremely insecure and poor leadership. If you want to have a conversation with a staff member, do it in the back in private - Not in the very front where everyone can hear you. I know retail managers are usually very emotionally immature, but this was something I've never seen before. read more

Sometimes it's the people who keep you coming back! It's nice to walk into a business and immediately be recognized and greeted by a friendly staff. It just sets the tone for a Great shopping experience. For me, it makes me feel welcomed and many times sets the tone for the rest of the day. Too many times when Ive left a store, I felt like I was invisible. Employees walk right past you without any acknowledgment or they stand talking about some tragedy in their life that has nothing to do with work. We've all experienced this and many times have felt like it was an inconvienace to help me with my purchase. Never at Ulta Corona! Someone has always politely approached me and offered their help. I appreciate this! I don't know my way around every store. Often I want to get in, make my purchase and scratch that stop off my list. Being a fellow business owner, I know the importance of good customer service and understand that being knowledgable and providing a higher level of service is the key to any successful business plan. Karina is the store manager at this location and it's apparent she has developed a solid business model designed around providing outstanding customer service! I have always found that the staff is well trained, knowledgeable in the product lines they carry and genuinely interested in seeing that each customer has a good shopping experience. It's this level of attention that has made me comfortable with their recommendations and with the services they provided and the purchased I have made. I should have known the price ($45 - $50) was too good to be true for a Cleanse, Care and Define service at ULTA salon, even for a Master stylist. I left this salon on my birthday without any product in my hair, aside from a step 1 primer spray, on TOP of my hair still being wet and tangled. This was a first for me but it's not my first salon rodeo. I literally bought a brush and combed it out fully myself in the parking lot right after, looking basically the same way I came in. I arrived early and for an approximately 1 hour appointment, I was in the wash bowl for almost 45 minutes of it! Leaving zero time to care or define my curls let alone complete a style, which she clearly did not realize nor have experience with. She was more concerned with her next client so much so that when I inquired about the coiling of my curls and additional products to be used, she insisted it was extra and not her rules but Ulta's. She also suggested I get a $300 - $500 service due to essentially how difficult my hair was to manage...for her. She did not section my hair to "comb" it out whatsoever but instead, chose to speedily run a bristle comb from my scalp to ends. I'm not sure if Jasmine would've been better. But nonetheless, WILD. I did not receive or leave with a finished style but instead neck pain from her lack of support of my head in the shampoo bowl and pure regret. Regret for taking the chance on the salon and for tipping her. It was not earned and she nor any one of the number of open stylists that were there at the time should have allowed me to leave the salon looking the way I did. Nooria Keihany, Redken certified colorist and master stylist, clearly did not have experience in my hair texture or length and was not the original stylist I was originally assigned. The front desk called me about two hours prior to my appointment to let me know Jasmine was no longer available and if I wanted to reschedule or not. I then said that as long as the stylist was experienced in thick, curly, and long hair then I would like to keep my appointment. But now looking back, I see SHE knew better and just didn't want to let me know the full situation. I won't be back to the salon or to shop! read more

Do not shop here. The staff and manager are very rude and unhelpful. I've used my points here a million times but the minute I want to use enough points to cover my entire balance it's a problem and you're asking me for an id. It feels like they're just trying to reach a quota for sales and don't want you using your points. I don't usually leave reviews, but I had to give a shoutout to Solat at Ulta. She was seriously amazing. I went in kind of lost, just hoping to find a new cologne, and she totally came through. She asked me a few questions about what I liked and somehow knew exactly what to recommend. She was super friendly and easy to talk to not pushy at all and you can tell she really knows her stuff when it comes to fragrances. Thanks to her, I left with a cologne that I'm obsessed with. I took my 13 yr old in for her birthday haircut. Charity was her stylist and she did exactly what my daughter wanted , made her feel like a princess and she left there with the biggest smile !!! While she was getting her haircut I wondered around the store and Brianna help me with makeup and hair products. She was so sweet and so helpful. She made this middle aged , over weight mom feel comfortable in a store that honestly I usually don't feel comfortable in anymore. Not because of the employees but just because I feel like all the trendy makeup and hair stuff is for young ladies ... not me. But Brianna was so helpful and kind and really went out of her way to make sure I had the right products for me that made me feel good about myself. This is a business dedicated to Beauty Products, but the staff seemed to have limited knowledge of the beauty industry. I was looking for the original Chanel 5 fragrance and the perfume sales person didn't know there were two versions. Also, I went to purchase cologne for my husband. They told me that they were out and I should come back on Tuesday as they only ordered two or three bottles a week which sold out quickly. I asked why they didn't just order more and they told me it was because they only sold two or three bottles a week. Went for makeup for a wedding and did get what I expected. I could tell right away the way she started that she was not a makeup artist. She didn't pin my hair to the sides , rather kept moving the wispys out of the way. She put ALOT of foundation on like you did back in the day. She didn't put any makeup pads under my eyes when she was doing eye shadow but just kept caking on that make up. Then the lashes were placed way off the lash. You'll find a lot of good beauty products here and some at a reasonable price. They also have perfumes and cologne from a lot of good brand name companies. The employees are always very helpful in providing information and helping you find the product that you need. Review for MAC & Ulta Beauty Salon: I booked a hair appointment and full face makeup appointment at Ulta on Saturday 11/16. I had wanted something very specific with my hairstyle, and Dominique did a good job. Not exactly what I wanted but it was still very beautiful. Dominique was very sweet and friendly and we bonded over Disneyland and our recent trip to Oahu. I also scored a cutie little goodie bag and 30% off my salon visit. My hairstyle did manage to stay most of the event so I was happy about that. My appointment was at 10 am and she was finished at 11. I did let her know I had another appointment at 12 at the Mac Counter and she walked me over to the counter to see if I could get in sooner. The makeup artist Marisa was very sweet! She did an amazing job, I showed her a few pictures of what I had in mind and she did not disappoint. During the makeup application she explained to me what products she was using and why she was using it on me. She was so sweet and gentle, and took her time. She choose the most perfect blush for me it was like she was reading my mind! I am not a fan of pink blushes as my skin tone doesn't look good with pink/shimmer. She chose a nice blush and the lip color was phenomenal. Latinas sometimes use the wrong nudes/pinks for our skin color which makes us look washed out so I am so glad she was able to find products that would flatter my skin tone. I love this Ulta! Came in during the week, not crowded, no big lines, & helpful employees eager to get your product and on your way, lovely! I'm not the typical beauty shopper they look to assist, as I'm middle aged & not the younger women buying loads of make up, it was nice that they didn't ignore me like the other UB's or Sephora does. Especially the nice young woman of color (I'm a minority too) she not once made me feel like I don't belong there :) Yes, Pretty Woman movie nailed how some sales associates judge woman by looks, age, etc. It's a vicious cycle. This review is for ulta salon! I ABSOLUTELY DO NOT RECOMMEND! Save your hair ladies, these so called "stylists" don't know how to safely do hair!!! I booked a highlight appointment with Jamie. I sat in the chair for 4 hours! She is super slow! She also over processed the bleach in my hair which caused bleach stains on my shirt. She also didn't didn't distribute the toner correctly leaving my hair with patchy and brassy toner/hair strands. I absolutely do not recommend! She absolutely ruined my hair and now my hair is patchy, brassy, frizzy, damaged, and over all broken and keep in mind i have south Asian thick hair! Imagine what she will do with thinner and finer hair which most people have!! BEWAREEEEE!! Alex, the salon manager is a big bitch as well! My service also included a blow dry, which they did not do my blow dryer in the floor hour. I also had to go pick up my younger daughter, and I told him that I would be back within 20 minutes and they still were unable to get my blow dryer done. They told me that once I leave the chair, I am unable to get my blow dryer, and I would have to pay for it, and that they were unable to accommodate me for anything. There is a loud beeping sound that goes off non stop in this store. It is really loud and piercing of the ears. I asked and they said it was sensors on the perfume bottles. It goes on all day, non-stop! This is unacceptable and not ok for anyone with sensitive hearing, auditory processing issues. Etc. I left with a massive headache and a taste of perfume in my mouth. Came in today to shop with my friend who has autism. Unfortunately I had to witness her being treated poorly by 3 different female employees, one of which was a lead cashier. She does not socialize quite like everybody else because she is autistic, and I watched the employees go silent when she would try to start conversation and give confused and disgusted looks towards her. Have none of you ever met somebody autistic before?? Absolutely ridiculous and I think there needs to be some sort of training on how to treat people with disabilities. You think it'd be common sense to be kind and treat them like everybody else, but I guess not here at Ulta. read more

As a woman with curly it is so hard to find someone who knows and is comfortable cutting curly hair. I have literally been told at different salons they don't do curly hair and they can't promise me anything. When I called Ulta they assured me that all their hair stylist have training in curly hair. I like this store and most of the employees but I recently visited the store and the employee that helped me kinda rubbed me the wrong way. She asked if I needed help and I said yes. I told her I was looking for a primer, she immediately walks me over to some brand that was pretty pricey. So I asked if there's one that's a little cheaper, maybe less than $30. She walked me over to another brand where the primer was $35. I said I wanted to pay a little less and she says "well, the drugstore brands are right over there" and that's where her help ended. read more
