I was exceptionally pleased with my shopping experience here. When I walked in, I was greeted and offered a basket to shop with. I let her know was there to see if I could find a birthday gift rather than getting a gift card, so I'd pass for now. She understood and let me go, offering assistance in the future if needed. I like the good organization of the store, and the obvious separation of products geared toward younger clientele from older clientele. I also found that they carry some good quality shampoo and conditioners, so I may come back for that after doing a little comparison shopping. Unfortunately, I didn't find anything I could be certain my friend would like, so I settled on a gift card. Jada (the associate with the blonde and pink hair) was super sweet and kind! I was waiting for about 5 mins or less in line at the check out lane to pick up an online order only to be directed to the end counter where Victoria was helping at the pickup station but it was empty at that time. I waited a few more minutes before Jada came up to ask if I had been helped and apologized for the wait and asked for my name to look for my item. It wasn't on the shelf so she went over to a different cabinet to check. She came back to apologize again and said she would wait for Victoria (who was already working with a different customer before me). Since I bought a curling iron, I figured it may not fit in their storage box so I asked if she could check if it might be hiding behind them. She obliged, and lo and behold! It was there :) Jada gave me a couple samples and asked if I had a dog to give me "pet cologne" samples too, which was really super thoughtful of her! They tell me it will be just a min. I wait 15 min then ask how much longer it will be. The hairstylist is brushing and drying a very wet haired client. She says "maybe 20 min." No thanks. I had an appointment scheduled today with Lindsey at 1:00 PM. When I booked, there were several time options available -- 12:30, 12:45, or 1:00 -- and I chose the 1:00 slot thinking it would be a convenient time and perhaps allow Lindsey a comfortable break beforehand. At 12:50 PM, just two minutes away from the salon, I received a call from Lindsey asking me not to come to the salon yet because she was running at least 30 minutes behind. Two things about this situation really bothered me: I'm not sure why I was asked not to come to the salon. It's unusual to be told to stay away when you have an appointment scheduled -- especially since waiting in the salon would have been perfectly fine. If you know you're going to be 30+ minutes behind, calling only 10 minutes before the appointment feels very unprofessional. My time is extremely valuable, and like many people, getting my hair done is both a treat and a financial sacrifice. With rising costs for haircuts and coloring, I expect at least a reasonable level of courtesy and communication. A much earlier call, or having someone from the salon reach out on Lindsey's behalf, would have been far more considerate. I understand that delays happen -- stylists are human and schedules can get off track -- but how those situations are handled makes all the difference. Unfortunately, in this case, I felt that the communication and professionalism were lacking. read more

The place was busy and the isles are narrow. Don't like shopping like that for one. 2 nothing is laid out in a way that makes sense. Everything is kind of just thrown in there. One employee I could see was irritated that we were in the way and gave us nasty looks even rolling her eyes at us. Never even asked if we needed help. Mercedes however was amazing. Asked if we needed help several times, offered to get us a bag and answered all our questions. She clearly loves her job and did it all with a smile. The rest of the staff need to take tips from her. We need more people like Mercedes. Thank you Mercedes for all you do. You're appreciated. She's the reason for the 5 stars today. If she wouldn't have been there it would have been 1 star because the rest of the staff are rude and appear to be inconvenienced by customers. read more

The salon Pros: hours, friendliness when money is being spent Cons: I would recommend you look at the hair color recommendation before allowing them to color your hair. Suggestion for improvement: when I encountered a problem with hair color I had to speak with 4 different people. I felt interrogated by the store manager who seemed not to believe me when I shared that simply my hair was too dark after a color. I think had the store mgr been a bit more kind my experience would be more positive. As it stands now I and a bit apprehensive about coming here again for salon services. I give 1 stars and not 0 because I genuinely believe the hair color was a small mistake. It was the communication afterwards that was awful read more

I wish I knew the gal who actually walked the whole store with me looking for clean beauty and helped me find the perfect clean matte dark but not too dark lipstick for fall! Yes, I'm that girl! She was so nice and patient. I never go in store for makeup. I always prefer to order online and I dreaded this trip! But they were too sweet and made it quick and painless! This is the second time I have placed a curbside order. Checked in with plenty of time. I pull up curbside and check in and am left waiting while the employees can see you waiting outside and just stand there chatting. The first time I thought it was a fluke. I had to go inside to pick up my order. There were no other customers near the checkout area. I thought surely it wouldn't happen again. WRONG! The exact same thing happened. I had a salon appointment with Deidre. I was so happy with it. She was efficient with our time, but I did not feel rushed at all. She took the time to understand what I wanted changed about my hairstyle and want I liked about the pictures I brought with me. I love my new do! I went in with an 8 week old "shag haircut with curtain bangs"; the bangs were cut very bluntly and the hairstyle had way too many layers. I came into this Ulta less than 20 minutes to closing which I hate doing, but I had to get my friend a birthday present. I knew I wanted to get her a MAC lipstick but had no idea what shade or kind. I didn't expect much help since they were about to close but Kristen greeted me and swatched a ton of color options and helped me pick a great shade! She even showed me a great lipliner to go with it, a dupe of a more expensive version which I wouldn't expect them to promote as much. I just got the best hair color job that I've ever had in my entire life by the new guy, James Parker. He used this new technique with a blow dryer called Airtouch on my highlights and lowlights. My hair is very fine and damages easily but it actually looked and felt like silk after coloring it. He uses Olaplex with every process. How am I just finding out about this product? Ordered a curbside pick up online order. I had my dogs with me or I would've gone inside. I checked in on the app, it gives you an option to be at the curb or parking spot. I clicked parking spot, I was in the very first spot, maybe 25 ft from the door. I called the store just for re assurance that my check in went through. The lady said "uh are you coming inside or curbside?". Then when they brought it out I apologized that I had my dogs with me, the lady said "next time you need to park at the curb, it's more convenient for us." Ha, no next time for sure. Don't have designated parking spots or the option to park if it is such a hassle. read more

What happened to Customer Service?! I visit Ulta often as I have 3 daughters. Sunday, I ran in to buy a few hair products. Since I didn't understand the sale sign on the Chi products I use, I asked the cashier. Her response was (with a sigh) "I don't know. I'd have to see it". So I asked if she would go to the shelf with me to check it out. After all, I was the only customer in line. She reluctantly, and slowly walked to the shelf and said "I don't know. I think this sale is for an item we don't have in stock". The more questions I asked, the more BS answers I got. Her responses were rude and it was obvious she either doesn't enjoy her joy, or doesn't enjoy working with people. I purchased the items I went in for, and left. I sent a message on the Ulta website a few days ago,explaining how rude the cashier was and I haven't heard a peep. read more

I've had a lot of issues with my hair I'm not even gonna get into it.... anyway with that being said I still wanted something really complicated as my hairs health was at stake. I dyed it 3 times and bleaching it twice in the last 6 months. After all that I still wasn't happy with my hair...finally set an appointment at ulta because it's right around the corner. Here's the tricky part... I wanted her to match my hair to deep red extensions. Ky did such a good job she a was totally all artist/chemist about it... mixin up colors and all that. I could tell she takes her job seriously. She's cool, easy going. Knows what to do with hair. Came back for a hair cut a week after she dyed it and she did a really good job with that too... I hate hair cuts, hate(d) my hair but I think she did a very good job ! She knows good products too btw.... gave me thickening lotion... big help to loving my hair a little more. Anyway..... the before and after photo shocked me... I knew it was bad I didn't realize terrible it was *photo contains graphic images* just kidding. ANYWAY stylists IG is right there on the screenshot so if you need a color or cut I can vogue for her! She does a very very good job. I'm posting the extensions I ordered off amazon also. Peggy was my stylist and she was fantastic. She listened to what I thought and made me feel valued. I left with my hair looking exactly how I wanted. Horrible service, manager sucked she was very rude. Cashier Estefania asked me to sign up for a credit card and mentioned I would save $100.00 if I did, I refused and said I was okay, and then the manager walked by with this side ways smart response, saying "oooh you'd save $100.00 and your pre approved" then my curiosity I asked what does Pre approved mean, she said it meant I was guaranteed to get the card and I was going to save the money, all they needed to do was submit it, well I agreed at that point, seeing as it was "guaranteed" so we go through the whole process and it says bank requires verification, and I say okay, but I'm approved so I'll save the money, then they asked me to pay for the transaction, and I noticed I didn't save any money, so I mentioned that why am I not getting the discount? They mentioned because the bank needs verification, and I mention they had said I was already approved and I was guaranteed going to get it. So the cashier felt she couldn't answer all the questions and she calls over the manager at the time manager continues to tell me that there is no guarantee and that she can't give me the discount because they can't illegal run my credit and some other non sense that made no sense. I then mention that in that case I want to cancel the application because I don't need my credit being run, she said that is not a problem I can call the MasterCard company and they would cancel it and no harm would be done to my credit. That was not the case I contact them and ask to cancel the application, they advise me they can not cancel it because I already submitted it and they have to respond to it. So the manager lied to me as well, and gave false information. Very upsetting customer service, she was very aggressive in her responses, I've been to ulta's many times but this one was upsetting. read more
