Tucked into "Main Street" Morristown, this offers a lot more focus than Sephora or the trouble of going to an isolated shopping mall. They care everything for your face from cleansers to eye shadow to toners. The prices are competitive and the experience was fantastic. I was greeted almost immediately upon entering. I browsed happily looking at brands from Jo Malone to Kielh's to all in between. While they did not have Tata Harper, they had some toner from Mario Badescu that I have been wanting to try. And for the low price of $11. The staff were happy to check me out. No waiting, no fuss. When I asked for a bag, the associate even offered me a few extra since they are reusable and perfect for groceries or schlepping things. Skip the mall and big box, stale stores and try here! He will keep changing prices for exact same service provided previously/ routinely. Even if you confirm price each time you walk in to be sure, he'll still try to raise price AFTER service is complete (so customer feels wrongfully compelled). This evening I confirmed price for hair and henna as soon as I reached, because of past experiences. We verbally agreed. After we did my face waxing, he asked if I wasn't in a hurry, if I could wait while they do threading and waxing for a customer who suddenly came SEVERAL minutes AFTER me. I nicely agreed but emphasized it was my Birthday and Diwali on the same day (11/4) this year so please be sure to take care of me too, as my hair and henna were still pending (each usually takes about 7 minutes). Apparently the other customer was a greater profit so ETHICS went out the window when my turn came. After I waited ~30m, the owner suddenly increased the price for my hair from verbally agreed upon $12 to $20 - without any good / valid reason. I was disappointed but still wanted the service given my Birthday and Diwali so nicely offered $15 just because other salon appts wouldn't be available in time for my Diwali party the very next night. He very rudely and loudly said NO, the price was now $20 EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY, even though I waited and even though he agreed $12 just ~30m earlier. So I again nicely said let's just do my henna and he refused. He said it was too late, they suddenly wanted to close. I had pointed out that I was speaking at a normal volume and he had been speaking at a needlessly high volume / aka yelling. He says because "I am pissed off." Sorry but there is NO reason to raise your voice to a regular customer, who was being perfectly calm, especially over a mere $5. And he refused to do my henna though I started to tear up because I had told him henna is a way of celebrating given my Birthday blessedly falls on Diwali. The beautician Deepali even looked sadly at me because the owner was scolding me over $5 and refusing me the very quick services after I had waited for the other (apparently more profitable) customer. So there you have it - despite all, there is not even an IOTA of customer service, professionalism, or even making a young lady's Diwali and Birthday a happy one. The very least they could do was complete the henna service since the design and price were not at all in question. I had not at all raised my voice so am not ever accepting being yelled at by a BUSINESS OWNER. You need to be more PROFESSIONAL than that, have BASIC BUSINESS ETHICS & minimal DECENCY. You should not treat your customers SO VERY POORLY because one day you will run out of customers to cheat and abuse. Especially with so many other salons in the area with competitive service such as Bindiya and Payal also in Parsippany. Forget customer is always right, customers even get scolded here.

Because of her professionalism and skill, I purchased multiple packages for haircuts, glazes, and color services. Unfortunately, my experience with the Morristown location steadily declined after she left. First, I was reassigned to Cece, who then left. Next, I was scheduled with Lucas, a Master Colorist, only to learn shortly before my appointment that Lucas would not be available and I would instead be seeing a brand-new stylist. At no point was I contacted beforehand and given the option to reschedule. Instead, I was simply moved from one stylist to another based on availability. I understand that employee turnover happens, but clients should not be treated as interchangeable appointments. If I book with a specific stylist, especially a Master Colorist, I expect to be informed if that person is unavailable and given the choice of whether to proceed or reschedule. Because I was uncomfortable with the constant reshuffling, I visited the Moxie Montville location instead. The difference was remarkable. The staff there were professional, accommodating, and took me immediately. I was so impressed that I purchased an additional package to continue services with them. However, because Morristown refused to refund the remaining balance on my package, I was forced to return there to use my remaining services. That decision turned out to be a mistake. At my most recent color appointment, the stylist failed to review my color history and used a reddish shade that was completely different from my established color. I didn't realize the mistake until I got home. When I returned and asked that the error be corrected, I was told they could not fit me in until the following day. Once again, Moxie Montville stepped in and accommodated me immediately. They corrected the mistake the same day. What was most frustrating was the lack of accountability from management. Rather than taking responsibility, I was told that the Montville location should have entered my color information into the system. Yet I personally confirmed that the information had in fact been entered. The issue was not missing information--it was that nobody at Morristown took the time to review it before applying color to my hair. Throughout this process, manager Chaya did little to resolve the situation. I was repeatedly told that refunds were not possible and that I would need to contact corporate myself. Between the constant staff turnover, poor communication, scheduling practices, color mistake, and lack of accountability, I can no longer recommend the Moxie Morristown location. If you value consistency, communication, and attention to detail, I would strongly suggest considering another salon or, at the very least, a different Moxie location.

I received an offer for a haircut at Lux in the mail and decided to check it out. I'm really glad that I got this offer, because now that I have visited it's safe to say that I'll be back! Lux is located inside Sola salon. This is a large shared space with dozens of independent beauty businesses -- everything from hair cuts to facials to waxes. The entire space is beautiful and newly redone, and Lux is sleek and well decorated with lots of pretty mirrors, a chandelier and of course tons of beauty products. Jessica cut my hair exactly as I asked, and it ended with a fabulous blowout. I was in and out in around 45 minutes and am so happy with my new cut. Jessica also offers other beauty services like blowouts and makeup. I definitely look forward to returning for my next haircut and any other future glam needs.

I ended up going every 2 weeks on Mondays to "move my extensions up" being in the industry and talking to many professionals, going 2 weeks for move ups is very unusual. Jess told me to come every 2-3 weeks if I'd like because "my hair grows faster" which was surely not the case. On 12/6/21 I went to my usual hair salon and had asked for a 2nd opinion because I was in so much pain (every 5-10 days after my "move up") I washed and dried my hair every 3 days and when brushing I would hold the top of the weft and brush so I wasn't pulling the weft. The girls at this well known salon highly advised I get the weft taken out ASAP. Upon taking them out they took 30 pictures of the mess on my head.. I'll post pictures. There were so many issues with the way Jess not only did my hair but how she very unprofessionally handled the situation.. which is a shame because we were kind of friends. 1. The weft was installed BACKWARDS. The seam and little hairs should have been against my scalp as a 'padding' against the beads which were supposed to be behind the weft, not on top. Which is sign 1 that she is inexperienced with extensions (pics attached) 2. The beads were placed on top of the weft and were placed randomly throughout the weft.. also no thread was used for 'hand tied' extensions 3. The pieces of hair pulled through the beads were so thin that the weft and my hair started giving out, which is why they fell every 2 weeks. The weft was so heavy that it actually pulled my hair OUT of my scalp causing in growns (in which 2 looked infected) 4. She did not use bellami beads like she said she was going to use because they were back ordered.. so my sister actually was told by Jess' mom that she ordered Amazon beads!!! The beads that she used RUSTED and was caked under the beads and on my scalp which caused irritation. My scalp was so sore the girls at my salon could barely touch it! I still have the beads and I have the paper towel that they tried cleaning the rust off with!!! 5. She improperly placed the weft. A weft is usually 2 rows of hair according to bellami.. she had me order 2 packs of hair AND SHE STILL HAS SOME OF THE HAIR I PAID FOR!!!! 6. She improperly cut the weft I BOUGHT and it started to unravel, making them unusable After finding all of this out I sent Jess a text on her salon phone (pics attached) and the way she reacted was horrifying. No apology. Only blame.. after I sent her my messages she called me and as soon as I answered she started yelling at me and cursing at me. She also threatened my business and said she'll say I ruined her lashes (I have pics to prove that's also a lie) The call was 43 seconds. She then blocked me on all social media. She said that a refund was not an option because I paid for the hair not her service. Not for nothing, I'd never ever pay for her service. However we were bartering services. BUT! She ruined the weft I PAID FOR. (If I broke someone's phone I'd apologize and buy them a new one) she also badly damaged my hair and my scalp.. Again not to mention, she still has some of the hair that I BOUGHT and now i have no way of contacting her because she blocked me on everything!!! I also went to a dermatologist for the irritation on my scalp and showed her all the pictures and was advised to use the treatment stuff I bought and also use peppermint oil. This whole situation was traumatizing and frustrating. Instead of a solution she got defensive and attacked me and my business because she must have been embarrassed or something but she totally avoided my hair situation and attacked me. Shameful for a business owner to handle any situation this way regardless of who the client is. I was advised not to contact her, so I won't. It is what it is at this point but please....
