I have had nothing but a great experience here. When you walk inside the studio is beautiful and warm and welcoming. You're greeted by nice, professional staff and they offer you something to drink or to hang your coat for you. I have always been seen in a timely manner. I go here because my hair is insanely curly and they do the Devacut here. Both Kristen and Mina have cut my hair this way and it's the best thing that's ever happened to my curls. I'm going back next month to color my hair and I can't wait! read more

Vanessa is super professional. Repeat performance, won't disappoint, mens haircut and shave!

Amazing. As always. Thank you Kristin for always being game and cater to my crazy short haircut requests and completely nailing it after looking just once at a photo! And thank you to everyone at the salon who always makes every visit a great one. read more

Great customer service. Excellent cuts. I haven't had color here yet but I would only trust Mina to do it anyway! I am a regular customer of Mina and the Lounge and plan to stay that way. Yes it's a bit pricey for a hair cut but you get what you pay for. I've tried so many other places and no one compares. My hair looks awesome every time! Do not miss trying out this place. read more

I have been a client of Mina's for many years but all the girls there are wonderful. My daughter goes to Andrea.. she LOVES! The salon has a great vibe and prices are pretty average. Great music always ever so lightly spinning. Just a very comfy unpretentious salon with talented colorist! read more

I got the worst haircut I've ever gotten in my life. My hair was cut for 6 minutes or less, I was charged $100 for the haircut, and sent to this apparatus that partially dried my hair. It got hot so I went back to the chair helping my hairdresser would be there to finish my hair drawing with a blow dryer. After I sat in the chair for 5 minutes, I asked the receptionist to get the person to finish drying my hair. She pointed to the hard dryer, and I said isn't it possible my hairdresser can actually dry my hair since I'm paying for this? My hair has not been right since I left the salon, the back is crooked, and I can't style it. What a horrible experience, they're so pretentious. I would never go back there again. read more

I enjoy going here, I see Andrea. She is amazing and kind. She really knows her color and she never cuts too much. It is not always easy getting an appointment that works with my schedule but I do enjoy seeing her. read more

Caitlyn did awesome job! My hair looked great. Reasonable price cute shop and friendly staff. Will certainly use again.

Great salon....professional, polite, friendly. Really nice atmosphere in the heart of Denville. I get the best color, cut and foils from one of the owners, Mina. I get so many compliments on my haircuts. They are very up on all the latest hairstyles etc. I've tried once to leave and go cheaper, but the saying is so true "you get what you pay for." I came back and am much happier at The Lounge. I am never disappointed! They also sell the best products out there. read more

I don't get the negative reviews on here. Seriously, this place is exceptional. My hair sucks and they performed miracles with it. I won't go anywhere else. Ladies, if your guy has a meh haircut, this is the place. Again, I'm not a woman so I can't speak to the coloring or other aspects of the place, but as for walking out looking a million times better than when you walked in, for a dude, this place is worth every penny. It costs more than most men pay for a haircut, but hey, you pay Fantastic Sam's money, you walk around looking like a guy with a ten dollar haircut. At that point, save the ten bucks, buy a six pack and a Flowbee and just give up on ever having sexy time again. It's that simple. read more

I began going to Lounge Studio recently because I followed my colorist Lea from NYC to Denville (which is only about 15 min from home and a blessing!). It's great to be able to have her so close! I have been traveling into NY for her to do my color for years because she is truly an expert! Beside her doing my color, I had my last hair cut there with Ann Marie. She is the first person in all my 31 years that actually cut the bulk out of my hair and give me a great style. I am extremely happy to have such a great salon so close by. read more

After years of going to this salon, they still surprise me. I called last minute for an appointment and they were booked. I was going out of town for a meeting and needed a haircut bad. Just as I'm kicking myself for not calling sooner, they call back. The owner says come on in. I'm pretty sure she skipped eating lunch that day to fit me in. So, in the end, they saved my butt and, aside from being a classy place, and loaded with talent, they go above and beyond for their clients. It's a busy place because they're exceptional stylist with top-notch service I rarely experience here in Jersey. A+ read more

Been going here since they opened and have had a variety of stylists, from the two owners on down. Currently go to Cepi, she's great with color and cutting. Location is also really convenient -- lots of good restaurants, etc., in the area. Like to go get my hair done then have dinner at Sogo lookin' good! Parking on the street. They accept credit cards, but I believe tips must be in cash. read more

Someone told me that Tania, a Brazilian hairstylist had moved to this salon. I wanted someone with modern techniques for my hair. I drove half hour to get there but it was worth it. She is fabulous. She knows her stuff and she cares about the health and looks of your hair, but is not pushy. The salon is classy, adorable and the staff is very pleasant. Tania is friendly and gave my hair such beautiful highlights, that I was stopped at Neiman Marcus by a lady who wanted to know who had done my highlights. Don't hesitate to try her work! read more

I agree with the review of 10/6. Cute salon, nice atmosphere and nice people but the stylist tend to spend a lot of time focused on things other then the client (like what's for lunch). I also don't like being pushed products or services, although I realize that a lot of salons do this. Ultimately, I stopped going to Lounge because I was never 100% satisfied with my color. The color was never right, I was over-processed on a few occasions and I often had big gaps where color was completely missed. Ironically, I'm also a blonde (like first poster) so maybe they're just better with brunettes. I ended up going into Manhattan and found a great colorist for the same price. read more

Moved to area and wanted to find someone who used my former color line (Wella) and found this spot. Decor was great, stylists are not. I'm not a fan of the tiered service based on years of stylist. I overpaid for orange hair. I'm naturally blonde and went in for highlights (platinum) and some low lights (dirty blonde). I left with brassy orange. They stylist only left the color in my hair for 2mintues, then wonders why the color is horrible. Asked to have it corrected and was charged EXTRA by the owner!!!??? Never trust this place. The majority of the stylists all come from the same horrible "school"... read more

Horrible place. I had to go back 2 times because my foil was completely spotted, After the second time I gave up and went somewhere else. On top of that It cost over a $150.00 and I she didn't even blow dry it. The woman at the counter was completely rude when I came back, I would rather have monkeys color my hair then go back to this place. read more

Very nice customer service (coffee, tea, magazines) and pretty good with dyes and highlights. Haircuts are great. Sometimes stylists can be more occupied talking to other stylists about misc. things instead of the customer. Very nice ambiance in the building though. read more

I've been a customer since the salon opened and a client of Mina's since before then. If I could, I would give The Lounge and Mina 10 stars. The entire staff exemplifies A plus service. Everyone is friendly, professional and courteous. The stylists listen to your concerns and desires before picking up a scissor or mixing hair colors. The staff goes our of their way to make your salon experience as pleasant, satisfying and relaxing as possible. I highly recommend The Lounge to anyone looking for a better hair experience and result. read more

The Lounge is fabulous! I've been going to Mina for about 10 years and have always been happy with my cuts and color...so happy in fact that both my husband and mother go to Mina now, too!! I would recommend The Lounge if you're looking for a great hairstyle in a fun yet relaxing environment. read more

Came here for the first time to have my hair cut and hair paint done by Ria and i couldn't be happier! The worst thing in the world is when you go to the salon and they don't fully understand what you want, well that was NOT the case here. I walked out of there as happy as i hoped. Ria did an amazing job understanding what a wanted and she executed it beautifully! My natural red color was not played with but taken care of! These ladies really know what their doing! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! read more

I recently moved and needed a hair place closer to where I live. I have been here twice so far and plan on returning. Andrea cuts/colors my hair and I love her work. I highly recommend this place, fair prices and I even got a coupon after my first haircut. read more

I was dissapointed by my experience at this salon. This was my second visit to the salon and I explained how I didnt want a lot of layers and I wanted my hair a certain way in the back. Not only did the stylist give me a ton of layers but she did not give me anything close to what I wanted and being that it is short cut I am now stuck with bobby pins and have it up until these layers grow out. The stylist, Gabby, was having a bad day and made no attempt to welcome me or make conversation. She was extremely flat and made me uncomfortable. She would make small talk but when I answered she barely looked me in the eyes and it was apparent she really didnt care. The people around me were offered wine, tea or water but I was offered nothing. Im not one to complain and when she asked me how I liked my hair I didnt speak up (my fault) but she had been so disinterested in me I just wanted to leave. When I called to complain about my experience I was told that she was having a bad day and it was a "human moment." No one asked if I was happy with my hair and they didnt offer for me to come back in and meet with someone else. They really didnt seem to care that I said I wasnt returning. The hair cut wasnt cheap and I will go and spend my money elsewhere (when these layers grow out). read more

I went to see Andrea at The Lounge Hair Studio this Saturday. This was about the 5th time she was doing my hair, and the last time she'd finally gotten the highlight shade right and gave me a cool cut. So I was excited for Saturday. Until Saturday afternoon when my husband came home and asked me what the hell they did to the back of my hair. I then realized that I hadn't even looked at the back. That is when I found that Andrea, had taken a big "chunk" out of a layer, and my hair was completely crooked and awful in the back. The worst part is it was then that I realized that Andrea knew what she had done, but didn't show me the back of my hair before I left, and let me walk out of the salon looking that way. To me, that is the worst part, that she just didn't care. What truly disgusted me was that I wrote an email to the owners, and then went back to the salon last night. I spent an HOUR of my time having my hair cut and cut until I walked out with hair that looks like a soccer mom's bowl cut. I have no options but to wear it in a tiny pony tail until it grows out and I can go to a better salon and have it cut into a style I like. The Owner Mina did not offer me any money back, she did not offer a discount for my next visit. She didn't even give me a free product. She did not apologize, instead she made Andrea come out and half-halfheartedly apologize to me (can you say awkward?). So, if you feel this is the way people should run their business, by all means, go to The Lounge. I won't be there, I'll be getting my hair done by people that care enough to do a good job, and know how to make it right when they fail. I am completely heartbroken that I spent $250 of my hard earned money to look and feel awful, and the folks at The Lounge Hair Studio couldn't care less. read more

I continue to get exceptional service and enjoy every visit to this salon. Mina's expertise and advice has made me feel comfortable with every style she has cut. Several of my cuts were results of pictures and i have left the salon feeling confident with the end result. read more

I was very pleased with my first visit to the Lounge Hair Studio. The salon itself is warm and inviting and everyone is pleasant and made me feel welcome. Cepi provided wonderful care as my stylist and took the time to give me the style I had hoped for. It was refreshing to have a stylist that listened and understood. I look forward to my return visit. read more

I had a great experience! This was the first time trying a new place since I moved to the area. The staff is very friendly. I am very particular about my hair and was able to talk to the stylist about what I would like and was open to her ideas too. We discussed what she envisioned what would look beautiful on my face (I love that she cares.) I knew I wanted a short hair cut but I didn't know how short. I walked out there feeling beautiful and I'm so happy I found a place I enjoy. I would recommend this place to anyone if you want a great experience read more

It's been a long time since I've had a hair cut this good! Joan cut my hair back in early August, and I was very pleased with the cut. I wear my hair short, but explained to her that I wanted to grow it out a bit. After cutting my hair (actually, just neatening it up), she told me not to come back for 8 weeks. I was concerned that I would look like a total mess by then, since I usually have to get it cut every 4 weeks. However, it's now 8 weeks later, and the cut she gave me has lasted very well. So impressed! Yes, it's pricey, but you get what you pay for. Treat yourself. read more
