The manager or sales associate guy with the purple hair rn is awful and passive aggressive. I asked him when a Dior perfume would be back in stock. He mockingly called me a VIP customer, said the perfume would be in stock on Tuesday and to call the store at 6am (Ulta opens at 10 btw in Bellis Fair so why did he tell me call at 6am?) so they can hold a box for me when I came to the store. I go on Tuesday the entire perfume that I wanted, the display was gone and the perfume was not in store. I know why he did this because I tested the perfume a lot with different combos of other tester skincare products because my skin is problematic so I wanted to find something that works with the perfume and he must have thought that was a joke but still is this how Ulta allows their associates to passively bully customers? Got my perfume at Macy's instead when I was willing to spend it at Ulta. Ulta Beauty is Sephora's competitor. There is no Sephora in Bellis Fair and guess that is why they are here. They do have items on sale. But I find that Ulta is great if you are looking for hair products. The store is bright. Nothing like wow. Prices are ok unless you are thinking of visiting the outlet. read more

Disorganized, unprofessional. Manager should be demoted. I went all the way to Bellingham Ulta from Stanwood because they had listed all 3 items I wanted from TARTE products as available. After I paid for them, they notified me there were actually NOT available. I ordered these 3 items as a pickup item because that was the requirement for a 20% discount. Not only did they not carry all 3 items, when they recharged me, they charged me the full price for the other 2. After 35 minutes on the phone with 3 different people, the manager told me they could not give me the discount because it was an online order. I could drive all the way back up there to get the discount. There was no "I'm truly sorry for your inconvenience", and actually, there was none of that from any of the associates I spoke with. Now I'm on the phone with ULTA corporate and have been for another 20 minutes trying to get my discount. This is not a professionally, well run company and this particular store does not seem to know what they are doing. Not going to Ulta again!! read more

So I'm one of those gals that treats the inside of her body like a forgotten nuclear wasteland but my ten step korean facial skin care routine is on point ;) I was on a panicked hunt for Korean beauty products in the Belis Fair Mall, after dangerously running low on my products. I had never actually been in an Ulta before and only shopped their products online. I found a lot of Tony Moly and SkinFood products that could sub in for what I normally used and that I also wanted to try out, however the pricing online is way better and they typically offer sales like buy one get another product of the same line for 50% off. Shipping is also free if you purchase $50 or more of stuff which isn't hard. While Sephora has a lot higher end brands, Ulta definitely carries products at the more affordable end of the spectrum. This location is fairly large, the aisles are well organized, the staff is friendly and prices across the board are ok. I actually forgot that I was in an Ulta and at checkout pulled out my Sephora rewards card, to which the cashier said " sweetie you're in Ulta" .... lol hahaha doh! I just think that you can find better deals online at ulta.com! read more

I LOVE Ulta and used to go to the Redmond, WA Ulta store ALL the time. Since moving to Vancouver, I've missed Ulta so much and so I was thrilled to find this Ulta in the Bellis Fair Mall, near my beloved Target store. In many ways, this Ulta store is like the others (which is a good thing!): it's bright and well-lit, with a huge range of products from high-end designer brands (i.e., Lauder, Clinique, Urban Decay, Too Faced, Benefit, etc) to reasonably-priced name brands like L'Oreal, NYX, Maybelline, Almay, Physician's Formula, Burt's Bees... and everything in-between (including their own Ulta brand). That's what I like about Ulta: the huge variety in product lines and prices (I love Sephora but let's be real, everything there is high-end, with high-end price tags). There are tons of make-up products (of course!), along with skin care, perfumes, hair care, and beauty tools and appliances. Like many other Ulta, there also is a hair salon here (I used to get my hair cut at the Redmond Ulta salon all the time and it was wonderful), and an aesthetician room where one can get facials (I once had a skin treatment, again at the Redmond store, and it was terrific). I was surprised that this Ulta store didn't have a bathroom in it. All the other Ultas I've been to do. Also, this particular store is smaller than some other Ulta stores, so the selection of products, however large, is not as massive as elsewhere. Still, there's an extensive selection of merchandise here (and there's a ton more online at Ulta.com), and I can't imagine not finding whatever you're looking for here. The staff seems knowledgeable too (although my interaction with them today was minimal, I witnessed them assisting other customers), and I should note that they have a great rewards program here, too. Not being a huge make-up person, (I have sworn by the same tinted moisturizer since I was 14), I have always been wary of venturing into the this mecca of all things beauty. I have tried shopping at similar stores before and found the people working not particularly helpful and sometimes intimidating. Bellingham's Ulta is a total 180 from what I am used to, the employees are always friendly, helpful and willing to answer any and all questions. I have only had good experiences with the folks working there and it has helped to expand my makeup and hair care knowledge. Today, after deciding I am going to be better about sun exposure, I went in to ask about fake tanners, and Delaney sat and talked me through the entire process and sent me off with everything I needed and step by step instructions. I never felt like I was bothering her or asking dumb questions. I also love that although they carry a lot of high end products, they also have some of the drug-store name items as well if you like to shop on a budget! read more

Every employee I've come in contact with at this location has been so kind and knowledgeable! One employee helped me find a shampoo for my dry scalp. On another visit an employee introduced me to a skincare brand which was cheap yet effective and I was so grateful. The employees in this store aren't just passionate about makeup and I really appreciate that. On my most recent visit to the store I noticed how well stocked they were in the makeup department which I know must be hard to upkeep. I was deeply impressed. I gave my compliments to the girl who checked out about the stock, and it made her very happy. Confession: I was dragged kicking and screaming to Ulta Beauty. Well, maybe not kicking and maybe not screaming, but let's just say I was looking for a "quick trip" to the mall and didn't really want to stay any longer than needed. But, when you bring a teenage girl with you and a new beauty place just opened up, well...let's just say: she won! Upon entering the bright, colorful vastness that is Ulta my daughter's first remark was "Wow, it's like Costco for makeup." She definitely described it well. Ulta is HUGE (especially by Bellingham beauty store standards). It's well-lit, well-stocked, and carries just about every conceivable brand of beauty products. From higher-end selections to lower-budget faves there's something for every budget in this place. They also carry a lot of hair products, including coloring and styling tools. And if you're really in the mood to get beautified, there's a full-service salon on the premises too! While I managed to make it out of Ulta alive (and without spending next month's mortgage payment on products), I definitely see myself going back soon. It is, after all, the holiday season. Bellingham, your beauty Mecca has finally arrived. Today my adventures brought me to a brand new store in the Bellis Fair Mall called ULTA BEAUTY. This brightly lit, East Coast, modern style beauty store chain has all your upscale beauty needs. Upon entering the store, I was promptly greeted by friendly sales associate, Tracy Bell. He asked if I had any questions or if he could help me find anything. I inquired about men's beard products (husband has a beard). Tracy took me all over the store and showed me all of the men's beard products. He was knowledgeable about the product lines, even down to which one smelled good and which ones not so good. When I mentioned this was my first trip into the store, Tracy took the time to take me around the and explain all the different aspects of ULTA BEAUTY. I was shocked to find out that ULTA BEAUTY was not just a beauty supply store, but also has an in store full-service beauty salon. The artistic team at ULTA BEAUTY are not just the run of the mill, boring stylists. ULTA BEAUTY sends their team to New York Fashion Week twice a year to bring back the latest trends and to keep them hip and excited about their trade. The full service salon also has cosmetologists that will do wedding events and educational makeup applications. The full service salon also has nail techs that offer OPI gelcolor nail service and gel polish removal. What I am most excited about is that the full-service salon has on-site estheticians. They offer a variety of facials; 10 minute face lift Express facials for $10, Microzone Express skin treatments for $27, Power Resurfacing Peel $45, 60 Minute Personalized facials for $57, Microdermabrasion facials starting at $67 and a variety of waxing, lash, and brow services. *** Shout out*** When stopping at the salon station, the receptionist handed me a $10 off any service card for my first visit. While ULTA BEAUTY does not offer free samples (like it's competitor Sephora), they do offer a free Rewards Card called Ultimate Rewards. The Ultimate Rewards Card boasts access to online tips, top secret offers through their magazine, a free birthday gift and special invites to exclusive events. Overall, I was extremely impressed with this store, it's staff, and the amount of different options available to me all in one place. Bellis Fair Mall, Bellingham WA location: Dirty, disorganized and understaffed. I went in with a shopping cart of items from the website - I was not able to locate 3 out of the 7 items though 2 showed in stock at that location. The others were difficult to find either because they were buried in the disarray of rifled through product (mostly this was apparent in the drug store area and on end caps) or were not located with similar products. Example - they have an entire section labeled "Makeup Brushes" but the only brand located there is Real Techniques - all the other brushes are located elsewhere, sometimes it was even in the general area of the brands other products but definitely not easily found. The one staff member that greeted me when I went into the higher end area, was no where to be found 5 minutes later. The only chance to ask anyone for help was at the register and when I responded "no" to being asked if I found everything ok, I was offered the option of ordering online and opening a card as a solution. The entire point of going in store is for an in person experience, to ask questions/see/look/test a product - hard to do when you can't find things or service people. What should have been a 15-20 minute visit, took over 40 minutes and still didn't check everything off my list. read more

I dont think Shea Moisture counts as an ethnic brand anymore but if you want it you can still get it here. For curly hair, there are the Ouidad and Devacurl products, which are expensive af. I like Pacifica perfumes and these are sold here too along with other products from the Pacifica line. read more

This review is in regards to Ulta's online store and all regarding parties. It also addresses the same theme in their stores- a huge lack of customer service and "make the customer happy" mentality that is very important in the beauty business. I have a real complaint regarding unreasonable shipping delays- well beyond the "standard shipping" timeframe and the unnecessary amount of effort and cost to my personal card regarding the accidental charge for a FREE gift to my credit card. 1. I have been on the telephone 3 times and am told I will be on the phone a fourth time sometime soon. Each time I wait 6+ minutes just to talk to an agent who doesn't let Ulta take any responsibility for the issues going on. 1. $70?! Charged to my card for a free gift? It's taken care of, but shouldn't have happened. 2. My order was "shipped" on the 8th of January and when I called again/again/again today (the 16th!!) to desperately check in on my products I'm completely out of---oh! It hasn't even shipped yet. Unreasonable customer service. I was quoted a date far beyond the 5-8 business days- INCORRECTLY. I corrected their error but was still completely taken aback at the disrespectfully slow service and lack of "above and beyond" to right the situation. Come to find now, it's going to apparently arrive DAYS after he 5-8 business day timeframe. Unacceptable. This whole situation has been a complete nightmare, and I will be requesting corporate communication, as these kinds of situations need to be appropriately addressed. Service in store was two stars- slow, inattentive and not knowledgeable at all. This is tough for me to see in the beauty industry, after many years in it myself. May I also mention that the original clerk (a year or two ago) neglected to input my birthday in my membership. So, embarrassed, I waited in line for my October birthday gift for 2016 and was told "No, there is no date on your account. No, you can't have the birthday gift even though we're new to your mall." Okay, seriously? Come. On. Can you make anything work for the customer? And here I was buying $100+ of product. ....please, Ulta. Make things right. And get your service together, or I can't support this level of service again. read more

This Ulta has made me want to stop going to all Ultas in general. The biggest issue I have is how hard the employees push you to sign up for the rewards program. I am not a frequent shopper anymore, I came a while back just to purchase one product and leave. The gal upfront asked me for my email, I politely declined. She said she needed the email so I could return the product. I said I have no need to return the product, as I've used it before. She kept pushing, asking me for my name and email saying it would only take a second. Annoyed, I obliged and did not spell it out. Then she needed my phone number, then my birthday, then my mailing address!! (Maybe she should've just asked for my social at that point) I now am receiving mail from Ulta to my house and email when I really have no interest in shopping there to begin with. I have gone back a few times since due to receiving gift cards and had similar experiences. I dread checking out due to being pushed for my information. If someone says no the first time, leave them alone- don't berate them until you get what you want. I will not be coming back if I can avoid it. read more

Do not, I repeat, DO NOT get your brows down here. I've had my brows done dozens of times, but I've never walked out of a salon with clumps of wax clinging to brows. Sydney, or Cindy, whatever her name was - was clearly a new brow stylist and she was not properly trained. I ended up with brows that are mostly the same as when I went in, but now more uneven and disheveled than before. Unfortunately, my experience wasn't the best. The first associate that I met was super sweet! I was looking for colorpop and she helped me to locate it easily. There was no lineup, so I grabbed my items and went to the line up. The cashier asked me for my phone number, however I don't live in Bellingham and didn't want to give my number or sign up for the rewards program, as I don't shop at Ulta. The cashier was very pushy and I politely declined, and immediately her attitude changed. i could tell she was upset that i hadn't given my phone number. I work at Sephora, so I understand that it's really great when you sign people up for the rewards program, however it's never that important that you need to give people attitude or get angry when they don't sign up. You just let them go if they don't want to sign up. It's their personal information, and they're not obligated to give it out. I payed for the items and I felt very uncomfortable because she was very upset. At the end of the transaction, she plopped the bag on the counter (no exaggeration here), turned around and said nothing. She turned and walked to the other side of the counter. She didn't say bye, she didn't say thank you, she just threw the bag and turned around. I've never seen anyone get so angry that I didn't sign up for their program. That was the only downside, maybe she was having a bad day, who knows. But it made the experience really bad for me read more

I've always been a customer at this particular Ulta. I've spent hundreds of dollars there this year alone. I went in yesterday with a friend of mine and they profiled us. The manager came from the back and started following us around and looking in our bags as she was walking by. It was the rudest thing! I am not a theif! I'm a customer. She also called in the mall cop to also follow us around. It was the rudest thing I have experienced at a retail store and I will not be back! I would much rather give my business elsewhere like Sephora where the employees are nice and which is right across the hall from Ulta in the same mall. read more

I love this store so much! It's my favorite beauty store to shop at . They have a huge selection of beauty products that range from high end cost down to brands more affordable that may make your wallet a little happier when you need to to save money. You are never sacrificing quality though no matter how frugal you shop. If I went it and bought the cheapest item in the whole store I know it would still be high end quality or Ulta wouldn't sell it in there store. The staff there are super friendly and helpful. They make themselves available to help you without hovering over you every 5 min. The position title for the employees out on the floor helping you is called a beauty consultantant and that is a very accurate title for them. NOT a salesperson. The staff do not just push products on you and try and sell you products just to sell things, they are extremely knowledgeable about the products in there store and you can tell after speaking with them that they are very sincere and passionate about their job. I love it. I literally go in this store sometimes 3 times a week spending hours just browsing at all the treasures there store hold. I am a single mother of 3 and 9 times out of 10 must bring my 3 and 5 year old with me and I set them up with headphones and there tablets while I shop. The staff dont mind at all and are more than happy to oblige me and allow me to do that. I haven't received any services from Ulta yet so I am not sure how those are to review but I would love to try them someday. One of these days when I can be children free I am going to have to try them. 100 out of 10 stars all the way! Heck yes this store is my oasis in this desolate desert of the world. Not only did she cut my hair to look like Draco Malfoy (I am a girl) she messed up my color and had to fix it and then ended up cutting it all off anyway.
