Gillian is a wonderful stylist, and I've genuinely never felt so good about my hair til after our appointment; they did an extraordinary job with what I asked for. They're also incredibly accommodating, accepting, and it's probably the first time I've seen a new stylist and not had to deal with unfamiliar-hairdresser awkwardness (that might just be a me thing, though). Sara Dahlstrom is a true master! I saw Sara for 7 years in Austin Texas and while I am sad that she moved back to the PNW I am so happy for her and her family. Sara has real talent and skill behind the chair. She ALWAYS gave me just what I was looking for even when I had no clue what I was looking for! She is knowledgeable about color and products and is never ever pushy on anything. You really can't go wrong with Sara as your stylist. Nina is amazing! I have said it before and I will say it again; I would follow this girl anywhere for her amazing cuts, styles and color. She specializes in natural balayage and the girl can bring it. My hair color is naturally fine, curly and dirty blonde which means it could use some help in the style department. Nina's cuts and color add glow and oomph and without her I would be living a dull shapeless existence (at least above the neck). Not to mention that her cuts are super versatile as they look incredible straight or styled curly. She also happens to be an incredibly nice person who lives for her clients...a very happy bonus!!! read more

Well, this review is way overdue. Don't worry I'll keep it short and straight to the point. I moved to Seattle in 2011 and would fly down to LA every time I needed to get my hair done. I finally started to see Rachelle in 2013 around the time she opened up GOLD COMB 1.0 in Greenwood. I finally became that person that is always asked, "Who does your hair?". Fast forward to 2017 with GC 2.0 in Bellingham and as crazy as it sounds I make the drive from South Seattle. You know what's crazier? Trusting anyone else to work with my 50 pound main of hair. Rachelle has been making my locks look extra luscious for about a year and each time I walk out feeling refreshed and bouncy. She is friendly, personable and gives dreamy scalp rubs. She listens to what you want for your hair and has excellent recommendations. I really like the line of hair care products she uses and have bought a few for myself without ever feeling pressured. I can't say enough good things about Ashley at Gold comb. I went in with not having my hair cut in a year. I had an idea of what I wanted done and asked her what she thought would look good. My hair is very fine and she cut it so that I actually volume to my hair. The color is absolutely beautiful. I am so incredibly happy with it. I am in love with Gold Comb Salon. The salon itself is so chic and in a fantastic location (away from the downtown madness) and there is plenty of free parking close to the salon. I always knew Rachelle was the best, but now that I've moved away, I really miss her! Rachelle was my hairdresser for over 10 years. I have very long hair, and she always managed to give me perfect highlights and low lights (very natural looking) while leaving my hair in excellent condition. Her cuts were also perfect every time. I agree with everyone else. She listens to what you tell her, whether it's a small tweak in color or a major change like bangs, she'll tell you what she thinks and figure out how to make it work for you.
