She listens to you when you tell her what you want, she is able to actually turn that into a reality, and, if what you want isn't realistic (Hi, I have dyed black hair, I want platinum hair TODAY!!), she will let you know WHY and work with you to achieve a result that will have you walking out of the salon feeling absolutely goddesslike. I called and left a message about my service, and the damage, and Abby, the manager/owner returned my call, and proceeded to say I should be grateful that she didn't charge me as much as a service like this typically costs, to which I said there is a reason for that, and from there Abby proceeded to make countless excuses for Courtney's poor choices and discussed Courtney's mental health issues and anxiety with me, as if that was good reason. Other things that I should have called out at the time but I wanted to enjoy my service and really thought I was in good hands - I had just recently had a Malibu C treatment to remove some of the darker pigments in my hair and the back of my head processed lighter from that treatment, and the back on my head is where Courtney choose to start highlighting my hair first, meaning that it processed faster and she left it on while the front of my head caught up. I also caught her spraying hairspray before curling my hair - I asked what she just sprayed, she said that it would help hold the curl, but you don't do that, especially on compromised hair???? I trusted this person and I told her I have had back experiences before and that it was a big deal for me to trust someone with highlighting my curly hair, and this is what I get for my kindness and faith that I put into her. I was offered to have one of their other stylists (someone the manager referred to as a "good" stylist) fix my orange color, but I was not comfortable going back there and didn't trust I was in good hands. I asked for enough of my money back to go a salon of my choosing and have someone tone my hair, but they refused to accommodate my feelings and treated me as though I was the one that did something wrong.

I felt welcomed the moment I walked in. I arrived kind of early so my stylist wasn't there yet, so I took in my surroundings and watched another stylist work her magic. My stylist, Cassie, walked in about five minutes after me and greeted me with a big smile. I showed Cassie a couple of pictures of what I wanted, and she knew exactly what I wanted. She got to work, all the while making sure I was comfortable. We had a pleasant conversation... and soon, it was unveiling time. I was quite surprised by the outcome -- it was *exactly* what I'd asked for! I've been admiring the results all morning. She carefully explained how to care for my new perm and made sure to caution me not to wash it for at least two days (I usually wait 3 just in case). The experience was wonderful and I am really happy with the results. Perms always look much better on me after the first wash... I'm so looking forward to seeing the final result because I know it's just what I'd requested. I am now going to ditch my previous salon and switch over to Looking Glass for everything because I know they understand what I want and they aren't shy about spending the time to achieve the look I want. I left a voicemail in a panic and got a call first thing the next morning that Nicci would cut and color my hair that day! So I didn't end up getting that job, but I have become a very satisfied regular customer for the past year. Going to Cat N Fiddle is kind of like going to your favorite coffee house. You get what you expect---EVERY time. These guys have years of experience and traning as well. Other salons come and gone but they have been in this same location for 15 years! I had never met Nicci before that first cut and my hair was grown out and a mess, and I am not a good "talker" but he knew. Then, months later, it became inevitable that my hair was not going to be straight anymore due to the moist climate. He helped me make peace with my curls and taught me about frizz control so it is no longer something I need to think about. The music is always awesome--but varied. So forget how wonderful Nicci and Danny are--the view from the chair is breathtaking!!!! A vacation in itself. Highly Recommend this place!

I know I wasn't looking my best, but I certainly looked like many of the ladies here in Bellingham in my leggings and oversized sweatshirt, hair up in a clip. As soon as I walked in, one lady sitting down just ignored me, and the other doing hair looked me up and down before asking if she could help me. Then after asking me when I was available the one sitting down went to her appointment book, flipped through a couple pages, then asked the other one to book me instead. The other one said she wasn't taking on any new clients. Even my daughter noticed how completely uninterested they were to give me an appointment. I have never been treated that way upon walking into a salon before. I can't even imagine what they would've done to my hair had I been successful in getting an appointment. So I said it seems like you are both too busy, no worries, and drove away in my Lexus. I highly recommended finding a better place to spend your money ladies, this place is way too full of themselves.
