OMG! But, what a jungle!!! You go in thru security to endless groups of aisles of all sorts of beauty products. Nice young Salesppl to help you since you'll need it plus security strolling around which does feel a bit creepy. It's divided into sections that most customers don't realize from upper end products to drug store class. Has a hair salon area and makeup area all out in the open. About everything you'd want to make you or help you feel or smell pretty. I found what I came for in the far back upper end area thanks to Hannah, a very nice intelligent attractive salesgirl. You could spend all day in there shopping around but I controlled myself and didn't. But, at the checkout counter I was shocked by the only clerk's appearance and felt very very uncomfortable. A female with a bid tattooed neck that almost looked like a beard and another big tattoo on the left arm that looked like a satanic pentagram upside down star. Creepy!!! I'll go to another Ulta next time and hope for a nicer closing experience. read more

This ulta has a wide range of items of limited to most renowned brands and it was a pitty that they didn't carry for I was searching. Most items are marked wrongly and you won't know that until you get to the counter. Only one person greeted me and asked me for help compared to other ulta stores. Most tester items are ruined and you can't try them. Overall clean and tidy. read more

I visited this ULTA twice in the past 2 weeks at different times. The first time was about noon on a Sunday. The store was bussing. I walked around browsing products and didn't see any employees walking around. To add, nobody asked if I needed help finding products, so I quietly left empty handed. The second time, I went shortly after they opened. There were carts in the isles, and employees bustling around; opening windows, stocking shelves, ect. Moreover, I wasn't greeted or assisted after looking for a reasonable amount of time. Upon checking out, I informed the cashier that I wasn't sure how to pick a foundation to match my skin. Instead of having an associate help, she said that I could return it, if it didn't work out. Fast forward, I went to the ULTA location on Coors. Not only was I greeted, but I was offered help right away. read more

I scheduled an appointment for a simple wash and curl define almost an entire week in advance for a party. The day of the appointment (day of party) Jackie the girl I originally booked with called me at 10:03am asking if she could switch my appointment from 1pm to 10:30am with Lola because she didn't know how to do the service (although on her specialties it clearly lists curls and define). I asked if it was okay to arrive 10 minutes late due to living 25 minutes away and being called in last minute Jackie said it was fine. Once I arrived Lola refused to do the service and canceled me because I was 8 minutes late. Horrible service and messy organization on top of lying to customers. read more

I went to try out new location. I asked about baylage which was told by stylist she don't do. Asked what she do and gave me list. I then asked for a red/brown color and ended with my roots a very diff color than rest of hair. I mentioned seeing difference with it which then told it eventually fades. I left it alone as didn't have faith that can fix. Never gain will I go here nor accept something like this. I work too hard for my money to accept such bad work. The before is after almost a month of just letting it grow out/fade and after is going to The Beauty Bar & Spa for a correction/miracle. As you can see my hair had different colors and as "professional" to let me walk out like this and not ensure I was happy is beyond words. Just do your homework if going here. Lesson learned on my end! read more

They tried to force my daughter into joining the loyalty program when she was making a purchase, then made fun of her for coming to get me (we've told her not to give her info out), literally had to go in because bullying young people is a thing at this store apparently. 4 stars for products in stock here. 1 star for skill level of makeup artist. I hate to say it - because she was the sweetest person - but the skin tone match, the eye liner & lashes application... it was bad. This Ulta is the worst. Employees do not greet customers or offer any help at all. I avoid this location because they have terrible customer service. Nothing in stock. I've ordered twice online for pickup and never had the free gifts or birthday rewards in store. Very questionable. The employees are plain terrible. read more

If you enjoy being followed around by security like a common criminal, then this is the store for you. My 3 year old daughter and I were literally followed down almost every isle and to the bathroom by their security guard. I tried to smile at her several times, as I am sure they do have a problem with shop lifting however she just stared me down like I was doing something wrong. I feel like she was judging me based on my many tattoos and being stereotyped like that is pretty disgusting. I'll most likely be returning my products and purchasing from Sephora. Update- ULTA Beauty responded and assured they would notify the Bellevue store, which is not even in my city or state. Keep up the good work, Ulta. read more

Ulta itself is a waste of time and the WRONG place to spend your money. Customer satisfaction is horrible, never dealt with a corporation that consistently disregards their customers. And no, this is not only a specific store, it's the entire company. Don't bother reaching out to their online customer service. They won't even attempt to meet your needs no matter how much money you spend. Sephora, even though you are farther away, here I come! read more

If you could leave less than one star, I would do it. Avoid this location! They're by far the worst Ulta I've ever visited. How they're still in business, I'm unsure. I shopped here twice a week for a month because it's 10 minutes away from my work. Never again. Today, I found myself waking around the store, aimlessly in attempt to find something. Never once was I asked if I needed help. Although, I'm unsure why I am surprised because it's no different from any other day. I've visited this store on days and times where it's myself and employees, their security guard is more helpful than employees are. I wouldn't want to impose on their makeup session with each other. It's terrible, down to the register is extremely awful customer service. Forget about asking for Ulta weekly promotions or deals. They're clueless. Points? Uhhh... dare you bother them to look! Avoid this location. Don't bother speaking with management, corporate, or employees. They've stayed the same. Of course their response is " customer satisfaction is number one". However, it has not changed in the tiniest amount. I even found myself putting my items back because of the lack of help there. Travel to another location or switch back to Sephora. Thank goodness for their security team! read more

I see that another reviewer indicated that her daughter was bullied when she didn't want to give personal information (first and last name, phone number) at the time of purchase. I just had the sales staff get angry when I refused to give this info, AND I was told that I wouldn't be able to return anything as a result. The real kicker? I actually apologized for not giving out my personal info! And even this didn't soften the sales staff's attitude at all... she was snappish and short and told me that my refusal would reflect poorly on her. Really, Ulta? There's something wrong here. Luckily my feet are smarter than my mouth: I just won't go back. read more

I would give zero stars if possible. I will go to Sephora from now on, it has better products and better customer service. I was followed around the store for a half an hour while my white mother, who I came in with, was not. I've lived in the area for 10+ years and have never experienced this much discrimination. One of the male workers was talking about my sister and me on his radio as if we're criminals, but would a criminal spend over $400? I don't think so. He also asked if we needed help and walked away before we could even ask for assistance. This store has so many poor reviews and they're all saying the same thing. Time to close up shop or make some changes! Sorry your security can't stop the shoplifting but don't follow a paying customer around the store. So disgusted. read more

I usually enjoy spending time with cosmetics but the staff at Ulta is horrible. I went into the NE Heights store at 7:30 on a Wednesday with the intention of buying several items. I found 3 of the 4 things I was looking for but was having trouble with the last. NOT ONE of the three employees ever asked if I needed help. One was on her phone, one stocking items and the last basically stood around. I got better service from the security guard. Not that it should matter but I happened to be very well dressed the evening I went it. I sold cosmetics for years and helping the customer was always the most important part of my job. I can easily order all of my items online and get free shipping but I want to support local businesses. I will not be supporting that one read more

I like Ulta, they offer some cool stuff, the rewards program is nice, as are the coupons. Consistency with customer service is definitely an issue at this location. I've been in during the earlier morning and been genuinely welcomed and followed up with...but then other times it is as though the employees are nuisanced by the presence of customers as they chatter about amongst themselves like painted up tweens. Cashiers should be customer advocates, reminding them of coupons and potential points that can be redeemed. I don't think that is too much to ask of retail associates. read more

The staff at the Ulta on paseo are among the least professional that I've encountered, anywhere! They follow me around like I'm a thief every time I go in. L A W D y'all... this was the hands down worst salon experience I've ever had. I'm still blown away at how they let me walk out of there. I went in for a simple blow out and style as I had an event that evening. I could tell right off the bat as the man shampooed my hair it wasn't going to be great. But I held my hope that maybe I was wrong and he was going to make it look good. First of all it took him forever to blow dry my hair. He didn't use any leave in product to smooth or condition. And then this man proceeded to take a straightener to curl my hair. I've seen that be done before so I thought "okay, he will make this work" oh man.... I was dead wrong! He even asked the other stylist if he should add more body or curl and she said it looked good. The deceit, the lies, the betrayal. To let someone walk out or a salon the way I did is immoral for any decent hairdresser. Now; to top it off I paid $38! That of course Ulta is refunding, but the audacity of them to charge me for shit. I had a makeup appointment at Sephora after that and I cancelled it because I was terrified about how bad that could be too. I went straight home, on a time crunch, to wash and style my own hair and do my makeup. You're better off at style America. The caliber of these hairdressers is embarrassing. read more

I typically love Ulta. I love their products, their selection, and their prices. I had never gone to this location because I usually shop online, but let me tell you my experience here has tainted my entire view of Ulta as a whole. My experience here was horrible. This was a post Black Friday shopping day so I figured that the supplies would be low and the sale items would be entirely wiped out, but that was not the root of my problem. We walked in and weren't greeted. We began looking around and walked into the perfume area. As we sprayed a tester spray an employee ran over and said very rudely, "do you need something?". We responded with a no, as we were just looking and she promptly huffed away. I started to look at their online ad, to see if I could find the item I wanted and I walked up to another employee, showed her the ad, and asked if they had anymore Urban Decay eyeshadow sets. She rudely said probably not, but those probably all sold out on Friday. She said whatever is left should be over there and she pointed to the front of the store and walked away. I figured they would be gone because they were sold out online, but it was okay, I continued to look around and see if anything was left. I walked to their clearance aisles and those places were a hot mess. Basically everything is just scattered all over the shelves or thrown into little plastic bins. To add insult to injury the clearance nail polish and some of the regularly priced polish are disgusting. The colors are so separated and definitely not worth anything. When my polish gets like that, it goes in the trash! I decided to ask about one last item (the BOGO gifts sets) and when I asked where I could find them, the girl flat out told me "I don't know where they are.". That was honestly the final straw. The customer service skills of 99% of their employees that I encountered sucked. One girl had told me to download the app and was friendly, but the rest were unhelpful and borderline rude! I finally gave it up and took my 5 for $5 items to the line. As I stood in line, I witnessed one employee shout at a customer over an in store exchange! Her behavior was so rude, demeaning, and unacceptable! I felt so bad for the other customer! I am going to take this review to the Ulta customer service satisfaction survey! I hope they do something to change it because a business cannot be successful when employees behave, work, and operate like the girls do here! read more

I always buy makeup from here, the coupons are good, the store is clean, and the employees are nice and friendly. HOWEVER, for those who are getting their makeup done, know that the price is not $45, (as I was told on the phone) but $70. I loved how my makeup turned out, but come on. If you get your makeup done at Sephora, you choose $50 worth of makeup and it's "free". $70 and you can't keep the makeup? I have a problem with false advertising, and $45 vs. $70 is a huge difference. I was charged $10 for cleansing (which I was not told would cost extra and I mentioned I had just cleansed before) and $10 for lashes when I was told they were $5. read more

My first experience at the salon was not one that made me want return. I had scheduled an appointment for a blow out and makeup application for an event last weekend. The hair part of the appointment went fine, but the makeup application was terrible. I was told at the beginning of the appointment by the woman who was doing both services that she was not a makeup artist...okay I was still hoping for the best. After doing my hair, she pinned it to start my makeup. Everything was going alright until she started attempting my eye makeup. It was way too dark for my liking, so she continued to try to blend it to lighten it, in vain. When I was asked to apply my own mascara (never been asked that by a makeup artist before), I noticed that my eyeliner looked like a 5 year old had applied it...absolutely uneven and ridiculous. Then the lip color was applied (a peachy pink that ended up on my teeth and made me look like a clown). Throughout the entire makeup process, brushes were used on me that I had literally just seen be used on another client, which is obviously grossly unsanitary. After 45 minutes of makeup application, my hair was let down (not quite looking the same as it had before being pinned directly on the side of my face). I paid my $90 plus tip, went home, and completely removed and redid my eye makeup and touched up my hair (wondering why I had just dropped more than $100 to do it myself anyway). Not worth the money unless you have someone who actually knows what they're doing. Lesson learned. read more

The only reason I continue to go to this store is because it is the closest location to my house. Every time I come in, the workers are less than interested in me, ignoring me while they gossip with each other. Bad attitudes all around and I will now be traveling half way across town to a different location. Will never be spending any money on Ulta Beauty products again. I just moved to Albuquerque from Phoenix and always loved going to my local Ulta because the employees were always so helpful and friendly. The other reviews on here exactly match my experience at this location. This stores costumer service is so awful. The employees didnt ask if I needed help in fact, went out of their way to avoid any contact with me. I was attempting to approach the lady at a makeup station to ask for some remover. She was on her phone, saw me approaching, gave me a dirty look and took off. I ended up only buying my face wash, which is very unusual because I will usually go into Ulta with the intention of buying what I need, but end up walking out with fun new products. When I checked out, the girl scanned my item, i didnt need a bag, and at the end of the transaction stood there while my face wash was across the counter so i had to reach way over towards her to grab it. She was so lazy and apathetic she couldn't even push the face wash towards me. I'll be going to Sephora from now on, I'm not paying good money to deal with this type of snotty attitude. read more
