Ulrich coffee, tea and dessert!!

The patio is spacious and a lovely place to hang out, even on a cool day because of the soft blankets laid out for patrons to stay cozy. The melange, affogato, and chai were tasty and served beautifully, but what made me want to review was the rhubarb custard tart with raspberry sorbet. Looking forward to returning for supper!

Wonderful spot with great outdoor seating. Friendly service. Excellent fresh and delicious food. Packed with locals and visitors on a Thursday morning.

I saw good reviews about this place so decided to come for dinner. We came in at about 6:30pm with a dog and they were full outside but the inside is pretty nice as well it's not hot and with all the windows open and fans blasting it gives a nice breeze. We ordered bread, octopus, and beef tartar starters and the wild boar schnitzel and chanterelle risotto. Even though they are pretty full, the service seems very fast and efficient they even brought water for the dog. The octopus was surprisingly good and had just enough spice, it was one of the first times I've tried something like a full leg of octopus. The tartar had much to be desired. It was an average tartar, but it just didn't have any spice the only flavor was from the pickled onion and capers. The chanterelle risotto has an exceptionally good taste and chanterelles are such a good choice for this dish. Sadly chanterelles are a seasonal mushroom so by the time you read this review it probably won't be on the menu. The wild boar schnitzel that everyone is raving about in the reviews is not that impressive, the meat is good but the coating of chopped pumpkin seeds doesn't help the dry texture and lack of sauce. Besides the sweet lingonberry sauce, it leaves me with a strong desire for savory sauce or gravy. I even used risotto and mayo to try to finish it. For dessert we ordered crème brûlée and chocolate soufflé and both were very nice. All in all I recommend this place, but not the wild boar schnitzel.

A superb, down to earth, modern place for brunch or lunch, excellent service and delicious food. Popular and trendy too, so you may want to book ahead to sample the buzzy vibe.

Thai fried chicken

Would totally eat here again and again. Absolutely loved the Thai fried chicken, was basically chicken schnitzel in a beautifully savory but light curry, a hodgepodge of vegetables, some chilis for some heat, and a bed of rice as the base. Enjoyed every bite till the plate was clean.

Pink Porridge with fruit and nuts

Lovely food, a mixture of traditional and more creative options. The charming terrace filled up, but inside was also nice, kind service, good English.

Another trip to Vienna, another stop in ULRICH for breakfast! I was pleased again! The meal on the pic is fried eggs with tomatoes bell peppers and cheese. Tasty!

Listen...here are some quotes throughout our eating experience: "If I died tomorrow, I know I've been blessed." "And people think McDonald's breakfast is good while this exists. I was one of those people." "They are doing God's work in that kitchen. Angels in the kitchen." "The chai that just keeps on giving." "I feel like I'm in Ratatouille and need to wait all day to give my compliments to the rat chef in the kitchen." This was the best breakfast we could have had. Healthy, fulfilling, diverse, beautiful, unique; I could go on. I mean I'm still in the restaurant writing this review. My friend had "The Vegan Wakeup", I had the Avocado smash with the Benny eggs and bacon, and we both indulged in the homemade chai (they added an espresso shot to mine so easily as well). No nitpicks - not a seed, croissant, or spoon out of order. As if that couldn't get any better our food came out before our chai had even cooled. SO FAST! You get plenty of food for your buck. Additionally they have free wifi which is so nice for a person traveling around not able to connect very often upon exploring! I can't recall a higher praise I've given to a breakfast spot that checks all the boxes.

This was our favorite breakfast in Vienna. There were so many options, and it felt extremely fresh and well balanced. No matter what you ordered it seemed there was some form of fruit or vegetable in addition to eggs or bread. The vibe was super trendy, and being from NYC it felt like a chic Brooklyn brunch spot. I didn't try the Bloody Mary but it looked well worth it. Waiter was nice, and food came out relatively quickly.

I live in the US, and would go back to Vienna just for this restaurant. I hope that says enough. I even wrote an entire article on it (https://spoonuniversity.com/place/my-holistic-and-wholesome-brunch-experience) - this place is DELICIOUS. Everything is so fresh, colorful, portion sizes are also reasonable, not HUGE like some places in the US but you are left feeling satisfied for sure. Can't wait to come back!

Yum!! Came for brunch and loved it! It is super busy so I'd recommend making a reservation - my husband and I came pretty early on a Sunday and got a seat at the bar, but if we came any later it would've been impossible. And all the servers speak English which is a plus. Anyway the food here is reallyyy good and beautifully plated - they have an amazing vegan breakfast called the Vegan Wake Up which is healthy, filling, AND delicious. Its like a sampler platter so you get to try a bit of everything (a lifesaver for an indecisive person like me). It comes with a mini bowl of oatmeal with fruit, an acai bowl, a green juice, rye toast with beet hummus, a corn and sweet potato fritter with avocado mash, and a quinoa croissant with jam! The oatmeal was actually some of the best I've ever had, and who knew vegan quinoa croissants were a thing?? Prices were also super reasonable. I'd love to come back again to try their dinner or even have breakfast again!

The Big Easy and pomegranate pistachio croissant

I did not expect to love The Big Easy as much as I did. It sounds simple, but packs a flavor punch. I have never enjoyed a plain omelette before. I have never enjoyed cottage cheese before. Both were done well, very satisfying, and left me feeling a little healthier after a week of meat and potatoes and pastries. I wouldn't order the pomegranate pistachio croissant again, though. The croissant is good but the pink icing made it overly sticky-sweet. It was like a donut. Too much. Make a reservation if you're going for weekend brunch because there tends to be a queue out the door.

We came here twice during our three day trip to Vienna and loved it! It's high quality food, you can get healthy dishes if you'd like, they also have many vegan options. We were able to sit outside and enjoy the weather. The service was hit or miss, our first waitress was not very friendly or helpful but our waiter the second time was amazing. We both ordered one of the breakfast plates, mine was alright. But my boyfriend loved the his "the vegan power plate". We split a side of pancakes and agreed that they were very dry and bland. They just tasted like homemade healthy pancakes. The second time I got the wild boar schnitzel which was delicious! I loved it, I just wish the portion was a tad bigger. I highly recommend this place!

Love the terrace in the spring/summer. Such a highlight for Vienna's 7th district. Food is great, service ditto.

The bartender and server were attentive, and happy to offer options. They also provided me several amazing beers to go, as I was about to hop on the train. I got the cheese stuffed sausage for food and it was really tasty, but felt a little strange just served with a side salad and some sliced bread and mustard. Then again, I'm not Austrian! Ultimately, really excellent dining experience highlighted by the amazing service and tasty beers.

Yelp Review 2023 # 37:…read more My first time here. I reserved a table but it turns out, I didn't have to reserve a table for 10:30am. But I didn't want to risk it. I arrived at 10:30am but the doors were locked and no signs of life. So, I walked around - it's a touristy shopping area. I came back close to 11am and got seated immediately. I was the first person there. I had my tastebuds set to have currywurst since I won't be going to Germany on this trip. Austria is Germany's neighbor so, why not? The lovely server/ bartender gave me the breakfast menu which of course didn't have currywurst. I politely asked her if it would be possible to have currywurst. She nicely told me she would ask the kitchen if they can make it happen. As I waited for an answer, I was looking at the breakfast menu for a plan B but I simply wasn't feeling breakfast food. She came back with great news! They can start the fryer for the fries but it would take a while which was fine. At least, I was in a warm place in the middle of winter! My currywurst hit the spot! It was hot, had the right flavors, and the fries were fresh, hot and crispy. If beer is your jam, this is the place to be. This is a bar after all!
