I drove to Primary Eye Care Center in Bloomfield because they are much closer then my usual optometrist's office. It was very busy when I arrived. I was okay with the wait because I had no appointment, nor had I ever been here before. I waited around an hour, when the very nice lady named Denise said she was ready for me. I handed her my lens and my frame, she took them to her station, in around five minutes the job was done. My glasses were also sparkling clean! Denise didn't charge me a penny for her work. Thank you so much Primary Eye Care Center and to Denise for repairing my glasses so quickly!

REVIEW:After asking for a record of my prescription, which I was supposed to be given initially for…read moremy records, I was denied. Following suite, my request for my own medical records, something I am unequivocally entitled to as part of my HIPAA rights, was immediately followed by the termination of care not only for me, but also for my wife and my five-year-old son. This sequence of events strongly suggests their decision was retaliatory in nature. It is particularly troubling that my child's care was discontinued despite him having no involvement in this matter. You can see the letter sent to a five year old! Terminating treatment for a minor under these circumstances reflects poorly on this practice's judgment and raises ethical concerns. Though we found the doctor to be very good, there were repeated instances of unprofessional and dismissive behavior from their front desk staff (a trend, I see, according to other reviews). These included: -Resistance to addressing a defect in an expensive, newly purchased lens -Dismissive communication when I attempted to clarify that I had not received my prescription -A general unwillingness to acknowledge that patients are legally entitled to receive their prescriptions without needing to request them These experiences demonstrated a pattern of prioritizing administrative convenience and financial interests over patient respect and basic professional courtesy. This practice's response to a lawful records request--culminating in termination of care--only reinforced our concerns. Patients should not feel that exercising their legal rights will result in punitive action.

Everyone is so nice and usually the wait time isn't too long. Sometimes I stop in with no appointment to get my glasses fixed and they always help me. When I came into the office the first time got no acknowledgment at all was standing in front of receptionist for easily 30 seconds before looking up from her phone. I waited 3wks for glasses after being told would be ready in 1wk. When I called was told yes they are here you can come get them. Got the text that they were ready 2min after I called. Went to pick up glasses not at closing time mind you again no greeting from anyone in front of office. When receptionist looked up from phone once again it took her 3 times to get my date of birth because their personal radio was so loud. then she through my new glasses on counter said here you go that's it. No Good bye have a nice night nothing. Now I've worn glasses for 45 years and never picked up glasses without seeing someone and trying them on. How do they know they fit? I would not recommend going here till they change their front office staff. Its just common curtesy to say Hello and Goodbye.

I knew I was going to drop some change pretty hard when I needed new contacts. One of the things I…read moreappreciated most about TotalVision was that the group here is very transparent about costs from the minute you get in. In fact, there are 5 different tiers of contact pricing, so that helped me figure out what would fit me best. In addition, they let me try a certain type of contacts for 4 days and come back in to determine if it was a good fit and feel for me. That little gesture really helped solidify my confidence and eased the pain of the cost. Dr. Lindower was very kind and efficient without making me feel rushed. The other two people working here who helped during my appointment - I forget their names! - were also very nice. You could tell they do the same sequence with most of their patients, but I felt cared for and not just another paying customer. They answered my questions along the way and were very descriptive about what a certain test or a certain liquid was for. It was a little challenging getting a first-time appointment, but there was a lot more flexibility for the follow-up appointment. Definitely call with a bunch of time leeway in mind. I'd definitely recommend TotalVision.

Dr. Pam is wonderful and I've been seeing her for eye exams for at least 15 years. However, the other people who work here, need a bit more training and professionalism. I once called asking if they could convert my contacts prescription into a glasses prescription, and the man was so confused. I can't imagine I was the only one who's ever made this request. All he needed to do was forward my request to Dr. Pam. He was saying I had to talk to the doctor at a specific time, and all this other nonsense that didn't make a lot of sense. Eventually I got my prescription, but it was much more effort then it should be. This LensCrafters location is a bit of a weird location at Macy's, amongst the purses and accessories, but I suppose it really doesn't matter.
