This is probably one of the nicest playgrounds I've seen on the island of Oahu. I'm so glad I found…read moreit thanks to fellow Yelpers, Mahalo! Parking: There are about ten parking stalls. I was the only one parked there and I went on a Friday morning around 9. Playground: The sign says its for kids ages 5- 12. I took my 22 month old daughter. She loved it. I loved how clean the playground is! It's seriously the cleanest playground I've taken my kids to. There are two slides for kids to choose from. Parts of the park are shaded, included two benches you can sit at to watch your little ones while they play. The bigger slide has a bridge that was too scary for my daughter to go on alone, she wasn't scared, I was. A little toddler could easily fall through, but I can see how it could be fun for bigger kids to get to the big slide. Since we had the whole playground to ourselves, I let her climb up the big slide to enjoy it, rather than try to cross the bridge she could easily fall through. Despite some shaded areas, my daughter said the big slide was too hot for her to slide on around 10 a.m. Area: There are walking trails you can take advantage of. The trails go along a stream and it was .5 miles, round trip from the parking lot to the end and back. The trails are shaded, which was nice. I saw a lot of dog owners on the trails while I was exploring. There are some pull up bars by the playground. There is also tennis courts and basketball courts. I definitely recommend this fun little park and playground.

Luckily the heat of the summer is previewing in late May already there is a spot of shade and some boulders to sit on. Not safe for white shorts. If you have toddlers or young elementary children they can run around in the grassy area. We only went as far as the boulders and didn't see any restroom facilities. Good idea to bring your own water to quench your thirst.

Towards the top, our PE teachers surprised us with water balloons. That has got to be one of the most memorable moments I had at MMS. Heck, I remember walking from MMS to town center on Fridays and on the last day of school! Oh the good ol' days! It's a beautiful path, well maintained for the most part. It's quite long path to walk, jog, stroll, or bike through. Nevertheless, it is in no way strenuous or intense. Perfect for little ones too. People walk their dogs just bring poop bags and remember to toss it in the trash can. Didn't notice any sketchy people around but I still wouldn't go alone. It's a nice neighborhood and the path isn't hard to find when going down or up.

16 Acres Park in Mililani, Oahu, Hawaii…read more.. I didn't know where 16 Acres Park was - even though I was born and raised on the Island of Oahu... lol! Why? Maybe because I hardly go to Mililani; my family doesn't live there; and I don't play soccer or basketball. Haha! I googled 16 Acres Park because I was supposed to meet someone there to pick up a gigantic prize package that I had won on Instagram. I gave them my phone number so they could text me when they arrived at the park after they finished work in Waialua. I used GPS to find Makaunulau Community Park (AKA 16 Acres Park) and parked near the restroom where there was a sign with the park's name. I texted a photo of the restroom to the contact person and they weren't familiar with this area of the park! I stated that there was no parking lot... and I saw a baseball diamond right in front of me and basketball courts far away. Eventually, she found me (I don't even know her name), and she helped me put all of the prizes in my car! Thank you to: Kobayashi Crew Country_kine_grinds: smoked meat and smoked marlin dip Scoop Scoops: 4 containers of sherbet Livs_mixx: 3 containers of flavored gummy candy jnjpupus - 2 kinds of chili pepper water d_the_salsa_slanga: 2 containers of salsa chats_sweets_xnx_things: dozen Brownanas dat_resinplug - 3 custom made shot glasses Lillyjoyhawaii - jar of lilikoi butter Mahalo plenty!!! Note: I drove around to the playground area where the parking lot was - to take a look. Gee! This is a REALLY big park! The restroom is so far from the parking lot ... like 16 acres away!

But it will be a hassle to hold it and either walk to the bathroom across the park or simply drive there. I'm not fond of public restrooms so it's best to hold it til I get home. TMI, but let's be honest here. Those would be my plans..but for the kids sake, yikes! Playground is nice but located towards the corner with only a fence to block kiddos from running to the parking lot but definitely will not stop them from running on the road.. It could use some improvements: fenced off playground and a bathroom facility closer to the parking lot side. However, yes obviously parents should keep an eye on the kiddos at all times and not play the darn PoGo game. Nonetheless, my family and I will always choose to frequent this park the most. Very spacious, ample parking, and a great place to teach my son how to ride a bike.

The park should really be renamed now that it has been demolished.. It's more of an adult park with pull up bars, push up posts and benches. Parking is up in the residential area, Maka'ika'i is the closest street above and then you'd have to walk down through the ravine to get here. I had set a routine to start from the top of Mauka, jog down to the park, work out a good one pull up that I can manage to do lol and sprint back up. My husband and I love walking down here with our daughter, because she loves playing at the little workout set they have. The little workout area has pull-up bars and workout benches. The equipment used to be old, beaten up wooden equipment that I was always afraid of using for fear of getting a splinter. MTA, however, has done some work. The equipment looks a lot better. It looks to be all metal, now. No salt air worn down looking wood. As I am writing this review, however, that area isn't quite done and ready. It looks really nice, and we can't wait to use it. The gazebo is really pretty and is a nice place to sit and just relax. But since teens are seen loitering there at night and what not, the gazebo is just full of graffiti and often times a beer bottle or two can be found lying around. I hope MTA repaints the inside and cleans up the inside seating area, because it would be sad to see this gazebo get overrun with this mess.

The path is paved, wide, and stroller/ tricycle/ scooter-friendly, so it works well for both adults and kids. The whole place has a calm, welcoming vibe. There are enough people around that it doesn't feel empty, but never crowded. There are several playgrounds scattered along the loop, which makes them great "pit stops" if you're there with kids. The playgrounds aren't brand new, but they're in decent condition and set on rubber flooring. They're perfect for active toddlers and slightly older kids. Our two-year-old can enjoy the slides and smaller features without it feeling overwhelming or dangerous. The only thing I wish is that there were a few more benches near the playgrounds for parents to sit and relax. The park itself is beautiful, with lots of trees providing shade and greenery that stays fresh even in the hotter months. Lately, the flowering trees have been blooming with pinkish-yellow blossoms. There are also picnic tables and restrooms available (didn't check the restrooms personally, but they're there).

Fridays it opens later so it kinda throws off lunch and nap time but in the car ride home he took a little kitty nap. Anywho's, with lots of precautions and not much places i would take my infant to, we decided to celebrate his first birthday here. Limit of 10 people inside so we had to wait a long while.
