It's quite long path to walk, jog, stroll, or bike through. Nevertheless, it is in no way strenuous or intense. Perfect for little ones too. People walk their dogs just bring poop bags and remember to toss it in the trash can. Didn't notice any sketchy people around but I still wouldn't go alone. It's a nice neighborhood and the path isn't hard to find when going down or up.

It does have a tiny parking lot though with lots of street parking accessing this location is very easy. My only problem is the shading so if you plan to enjoy this park and need some shade it's probably not for you though it's hard not to get drawn in as the insanely huge grassy area does make you want to just stroll in to chill. There are basketball courts, baseball field and even a cute jungle gym, one that I actually took advantage to stretch and take in all the vitamin D, even though the park sits right beside the freeway being so vast all you really hear are the birds and not much else which makes it a great way to escape and enjoy a beautiful well kept park. Thank you!

16 Acres Park in Mililani, Oahu, Hawaii…read more.. I didn't know where 16 Acres Park was - even though I was born and raised on the Island of Oahu... lol! Why? Maybe because I hardly go to Mililani; my family doesn't live there; and I don't play soccer or basketball. Haha! I googled 16 Acres Park because I was supposed to meet someone there to pick up a gigantic prize package that I had won on Instagram. I gave them my phone number so they could text me when they arrived at the park after they finished work in Waialua. I used GPS to find Makaunulau Community Park (AKA 16 Acres Park) and parked near the restroom where there was a sign with the park's name. I texted a photo of the restroom to the contact person and they weren't familiar with this area of the park! I stated that there was no parking lot... and I saw a baseball diamond right in front of me and basketball courts far away. Eventually, she found me (I don't even know her name), and she helped me put all of the prizes in my car! Playground is nice but located towards the corner with only a fence to block kiddos from running to the parking lot but definitely will not stop them from running on the road.. It could use some improvements: fenced off playground and a bathroom facility closer to the parking lot side. However, yes obviously parents should keep an eye on the kiddos at all times and not play the darn PoGo game. Nonetheless, my family and I will always choose to frequent this park the most. An impromptu visit lead us to this park, we stopped in Mililani for a few of my favorite business, stopped to get breakfast and realized that business was still take out only. My other half drove around looking for a park to eat our breakfast & ended up here at Mililani District Park. This worked out perfect, I love and noticed the huge trees, right next to the parking lot and lucky we found the last empty picnic table to enjoy. Great job City and County for keeping this park nice, green & clean. While eating and taking a walk around the park, I observed people just enjoying a nice day doing outdoor kine things, there was a few family picnics, Easter egg hunt, during Easter weekend, kids enjoying skate park and playground. My husband and I love walking down here with our daughter, because she loves playing at the little workout set they have. The little workout area has pull-up bars and workout benches. The equipment used to be old, beaten up wooden equipment that I was always afraid of using for fear of getting a splinter. MTA, however, has done some work. The equipment looks a lot better. It looks to be all metal, now. No salt air worn down looking wood. As I am writing this review, however, that area isn't quite done and ready. It looks really nice, and we can't wait to use it. The gazebo is really pretty and is a nice place to sit and just relax. But since teens are seen loitering there at night and what not, the gazebo is just full of graffiti and often times a beer bottle or two can be found lying around. I hope MTA repaints the inside and cleans up the inside seating area, because it would be sad to see this gazebo get overrun with this mess.

The path is paved, wide, and stroller/ tricycle/ scooter-friendly, so it works well for both adults and kids. The whole place has a calm, welcoming vibe. There are enough people around that it doesn't feel empty, but never crowded. There are several playgrounds scattered along the loop, which makes them great "pit stops" if you're there with kids. The playgrounds aren't brand new, but they're in decent condition and set on rubber flooring. They're perfect for active toddlers and slightly older kids. Our two-year-old can enjoy the slides and smaller features without it feeling overwhelming or dangerous. The only thing I wish is that there were a few more benches near the playgrounds for parents to sit and relax. The park itself is beautiful, with lots of trees providing shade and greenery that stays fresh even in the hotter months. Lately, the flowering trees have been blooming with pinkish-yellow blossoms. There are also picnic tables and restrooms available (didn't check the restrooms personally, but they're there).

Ok... this park here is HUGE!!! And it's not like most normal parks with a playground and swings…read more This is more like a park for SPORTS. Like Football & Soccer or Baseball. My sons school comes here for flag football. There's a parking lot with several stalls BUT... there's not enough stalls for everyone. You'll have to park on the street. But be VERY CAREFUL! There are specific NO PARKING SECTIONS. And if you do park there, the cops WILL TAG & TICKET YOU. So.... NOT WORTH IT!!! Just find a parking more down the road or on the side streets. Every Sunday we meet here for our sons flag football games. There's an ICEE TRUCK that's here from the beginning til latest 3:30/4pm. He's a very busy guy. It never fails. There's ALWAYS a line with someone buying an icee. Especially on those HOT HUMID DAYS! I like this spot. It's a really nice area to play at. Also, the weather can be BIPOLAR @ Times. I mean no disrespect by that comment. I mean that the weather has a personality of its own. One minute it's HOT & SUNNY & the next ITS POURING RAIN. The good thing is... you can see the storm-a-Comin from far away. Problem is... it's either NOT THAT FAR AWAY OR IT COMES QUICKLY. So we ALL bring our pop up tents, chairs, coolers, wagons, umbrellas & mats or blankets preparing for any type of weather. It's a relaxing but fun way to spend our Sunday's. I LOVE IT!!! Walmart is right down the road too. So if we need anything, we just go there. The shopping center is right there as well. Here gas station, Zippys Restaurant, UFC Gym is also there. For those who'd want to work out a bit. Many more choices for all to see. After all, it is MILILANI TOWN CENTER, right?! Back to the park... OH & there is a bathroom for both women & men. Most of the time it's fairly clean. But bring your own toilet papers Incase it's out. They also have a skating rink on the side. I think there's a roller derby team that practices there on Sundays too. Oh! The cool thing about this place is... the PARK IS LITERALLY THE BACKYARD OF A FEW HOMES IN THE AREA. So if these people ever wanna watch the games, they can either watch from their yard OR walk out back onto the field. This park is so big that we make 5-6 separate fields for the flag football games. That way we finish by 5pm. And we have a lot of teams too! And even then, there's STILL MORE ROOM in the park for someone to play a game of baseball & perhaps soccer. OH AND ONE MORE THING... this park actually has another side to enter onto. Where I CHECKED IN, is where the parking lot is & considered the FRONT ENTRANCE. Whereas the OTHER SIDE is street parking & FAR FAR AWAY FROM THE FRONT. Reason is, it's suppose to be a loop of some sort that some get lost because it doesn't actually LOOP AROUND LIKE A CIRCLE because the military or state blocked it. So now, It just has another entrance way. So be very careful on HOW you get here. In fact, if you ever do get close enough to where the FIRST PARK with a playground is on your right-side at the STOO sign. You make a LEFT, and follow that road ALL THE WAY DOWN til you reach THIS PARK. If you make a RIGHT TURN instead, you'll end up on the BACKSIDE of the THIS PARK. I think I wrote WAY TOO MUCH & YET ENOUGH DEETS FOR ALL TO KNOW. So I'm gonna go now. Thank you for reading my post & hope you liked it. MALAMA PONO & A HUI HOU!!!
