There's 2 entrances: one at Lehiwa Drive and one at Makaikai Street. There is no parking lot but plenty of street parking at both entrances.

I'm just going to lay it all out here on Yelp...I find runners incredibly sexy! When I drive past a runner on Meheula I gawk and admire their stride, form, and effortlessness with just a few beads of sweat dripping down their neck and back. But when I run, drivers gawk and wonder what the heck? I look like a mental hospital escapee as I'm ducking, zig zagging, swatting, and shaking my head trying to avoid gnats crashing landing on me. No matter how fast I run or what time of the day I run, gnats swarm me like bees to honey. So now I've given up...I just carefully walk to the Mililani Ravine Park trail then run to my heart's content. The trail runs parallel to Meheula but is well hidden from the street so nobody can see me spazzing out from the gnats attacking me. When my rugrats don't have school they love to tag along and explore "the woods" which keeps them busy and safe as I get my run in. Rolling the grass hills, plucking 4 leaf clovers, admiring eucalyptus oil oozing out of the trees, and hunting for Smurf mushrooms (no worries, we don't eat or even touch them). There's plenty of space for them to play catch or blow bubbles, but they simply love getting in touch with nature. I love this "secret" trail because its walking distance from my house and a great sliver of nature in suburbia. But if you live outside of Mililani Mauka, you honestly don't need to make the special trip.

It's a great path to go on a stroll and is a great start or end of a good run through Mauka.

This is probably one of the nicest playgrounds I've seen on the island of Oahu. I'm so glad I found…read moreit thanks to fellow Yelpers, Mahalo! Parking: There are about ten parking stalls. I was the only one parked there and I went on a Friday morning around 9. Playground: The sign says its for kids ages 5- 12. I took my 22 month old daughter. She loved it. I loved how clean the playground is! It's seriously the cleanest playground I've taken my kids to. There are two slides for kids to choose from. Parts of the park are shaded, included two benches you can sit at to watch your little ones while they play. The bigger slide has a bridge that was too scary for my daughter to go on alone, she wasn't scared, I was. A little toddler could easily fall through, but I can see how it could be fun for bigger kids to get to the big slide. Since we had the whole playground to ourselves, I let her climb up the big slide to enjoy it, rather than try to cross the bridge she could easily fall through. Despite some shaded areas, my daughter said the big slide was too hot for her to slide on around 10 a.m. Area: There are walking trails you can take advantage of. The trails go along a stream and it was .5 miles, round trip from the parking lot to the end and back. The trails are shaded, which was nice. I saw a lot of dog owners on the trails while I was exploring. There are some pull up bars by the playground. There is also tennis courts and basketball courts. I definitely recommend this fun little park and playground.

16 Acres Park in Mililani, Oahu, Hawaii…read more.. I didn't know where 16 Acres Park was - even though I was born and raised on the Island of Oahu... lol! Why? Maybe because I hardly go to Mililani; my family doesn't live there; and I don't play soccer or basketball. Haha! I googled 16 Acres Park because I was supposed to meet someone there to pick up a gigantic prize package that I had won on Instagram. I gave them my phone number so they could text me when they arrived at the park after they finished work in Waialua. I used GPS to find Makaunulau Community Park (AKA 16 Acres Park) and parked near the restroom where there was a sign with the park's name. I texted a photo of the restroom to the contact person and they weren't familiar with this area of the park! I stated that there was no parking lot... and I saw a baseball diamond right in front of me and basketball courts far away. Eventually, she found me (I don't even know her name), and she helped me put all of the prizes in my car! Thank you to: Kobayashi Crew Country_kine_grinds: smoked meat and smoked marlin dip Scoop Scoops: 4 containers of sherbet Livs_mixx: 3 containers of flavored gummy candy jnjpupus - 2 kinds of chili pepper water d_the_salsa_slanga: 2 containers of salsa chats_sweets_xnx_things: dozen Brownanas dat_resinplug - 3 custom made shot glasses Lillyjoyhawaii - jar of lilikoi butter Mahalo plenty!!! Note: I drove around to the playground area where the parking lot was - to take a look. Gee! This is a REALLY big park! The restroom is so far from the parking lot ... like 16 acres away!

But it will be a hassle to hold it and either walk to the bathroom across the park or simply drive there. I'm not fond of public restrooms so it's best to hold it til I get home. TMI, but let's be honest here. Those would be my plans..but for the kids sake, yikes! Playground is nice but located towards the corner with only a fence to block kiddos from running to the parking lot but definitely will not stop them from running on the road.. It could use some improvements: fenced off playground and a bathroom facility closer to the parking lot side. However, yes obviously parents should keep an eye on the kiddos at all times and not play the darn PoGo game. Nonetheless, my family and I will always choose to frequent this park the most. Very spacious, ample parking, and a great place to teach my son how to ride a bike.

It's more of an adult park with pull up bars, push up posts and benches. Parking is up in the residential area, Maka'ika'i is the closest street above and then you'd have to walk down through the ravine to get here. I had set a routine to start from the top of Mauka, jog down to the park, work out a good one pull up that I can manage to do lol and sprint back up. An exercise alternative when the gyms were closed due to COVID.

My husband and I love walking down here with our daughter, because she loves playing at the little workout set they have. The little workout area has pull-up bars and workout benches. The equipment used to be old, beaten up wooden equipment that I was always afraid of using for fear of getting a splinter. MTA, however, has done some work. The equipment looks a lot better. It looks to be all metal, now. No salt air worn down looking wood. As I am writing this review, however, that area isn't quite done and ready. It looks really nice, and we can't wait to use it. The gazebo is really pretty and is a nice place to sit and just relax. But since teens are seen loitering there at night and what not, the gazebo is just full of graffiti and often times a beer bottle or two can be found lying around. I hope MTA repaints the inside and cleans up the inside seating area, because it would be sad to see this gazebo get overrun with this mess.

The path is paved, wide, and stroller/ tricycle/ scooter-friendly, so it works well for both adults and kids. The whole place has a calm, welcoming vibe. There are enough people around that it doesn't feel empty, but never crowded. There are several playgrounds scattered along the loop, which makes them great "pit stops" if you're there with kids. The playgrounds aren't brand new, but they're in decent condition and set on rubber flooring. They're perfect for active toddlers and slightly older kids. Our two-year-old can enjoy the slides and smaller features without it feeling overwhelming or dangerous. The only thing I wish is that there were a few more benches near the playgrounds for parents to sit and relax. The park itself is beautiful, with lots of trees providing shade and greenery that stays fresh even in the hotter months. Lately, the flowering trees have been blooming with pinkish-yellow blossoms. There are also picnic tables and restrooms available (didn't check the restrooms personally, but they're there).

He split our pool time to spend some time by the slides at the playground. Checking in with Mililani resident IDs gets us our wristbands. We seem to come at the height of the sun's strongest rays between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. It gives us a good 45 minutes of outdoor activity and the freedom of no masks for a little while. Fridays it opens later so it kinda throws off lunch and nap time but in the car ride home he took a little kitty nap. I'm not sure why little kids aren't allowed swim vests if they are not strong swimmers but there must be a good reason. I've seen between 1 to 3 life guards on duty at a time. Some more serious than others on watch. Saw for the first time a life guard testing the water in the baby pool and big pool then logging down his findings. Being at prime summer time more and more kiddies are seen at Rec 4 with grandparents or parents. If you time it right you can enjoy the 3 areas and leave when it starts to get crowded.

Why? Because they have the cutest splash park, playground, and a warm pool/kiddie pool. What they don't have is a water slide and shave ice/Starbucks, but no biggie, we can make do without. Anywho's, with lots of precautions and not much places i would take my infant to, we decided to celebrate his first birthday here. Limit of 10 people inside so we had to wait a long while. Good thing they were open pretty late, til 7pm! You need to have an MTA pass or go as a guest with someone who has and pay $10 per guest per day. It's street parking along the fence, facing the playground and splash park or anywhere you can find. But between those two is the entrance. Mask on when entering, exiting or when not in the water. No floaties allowed. Have fun!

Ok... this park here is HUGE!!! And it's not like most normal parks with a playground and swings…read more This is more like a park for SPORTS. Like Football & Soccer or Baseball. My sons school comes here for flag football. There's a parking lot with several stalls BUT... there's not enough stalls for everyone. You'll have to park on the street. But be VERY CAREFUL! There are specific NO PARKING SECTIONS. And if you do park there, the cops WILL TAG & TICKET YOU. So.... NOT WORTH IT!!! Just find a parking more down the road or on the side streets. Every Sunday we meet here for our sons flag football games. There's an ICEE TRUCK that's here from the beginning til latest 3:30/4pm. He's a very busy guy. It never fails. There's ALWAYS a line with someone buying an icee. Especially on those HOT HUMID DAYS! I like this spot. It's a really nice area to play at. Also, the weather can be BIPOLAR @ Times. I mean no disrespect by that comment. I mean that the weather has a personality of its own. One minute it's HOT & SUNNY & the next ITS POURING RAIN. The good thing is... you can see the storm-a-Comin from far away. Problem is... it's either NOT THAT FAR AWAY OR IT COMES QUICKLY. So we ALL bring our pop up tents, chairs, coolers, wagons, umbrellas & mats or blankets preparing for any type of weather. It's a relaxing but fun way to spend our Sunday's. I LOVE IT!!! Walmart is right down the road too. So if we need anything, we just go there. The shopping center is right there as well. Here gas station, Zippys Restaurant, UFC Gym is also there. For those who'd want to work out a bit. Many more choices for all to see. After all, it is MILILANI TOWN CENTER, right?! Back to the park... OH & there is a bathroom for both women & men. Most of the time it's fairly clean. But bring your own toilet papers Incase it's out. They also have a skating rink on the side. I think there's a roller derby team that practices there on Sundays too. Oh! The cool thing about this place is... the PARK IS LITERALLY THE BACKYARD OF A FEW HOMES IN THE AREA. So if these people ever wanna watch the games, they can either watch from their yard OR walk out back onto the field. This park is so big that we make 5-6 separate fields for the flag football games. That way we finish by 5pm. And we have a lot of teams too! And even then, there's STILL MORE ROOM in the park for someone to play a game of baseball & perhaps soccer. OH AND ONE MORE THING... this park actually has another side to enter onto. Where I CHECKED IN, is where the parking lot is & considered the FRONT ENTRANCE. Whereas the OTHER SIDE is street parking & FAR FAR AWAY FROM THE FRONT. Reason is, it's suppose to be a loop of some sort that some get lost because it doesn't actually LOOP AROUND LIKE A CIRCLE because the military or state blocked it. So now, It just has another entrance way. So be very careful on HOW you get here. In fact, if you ever do get close enough to where the FIRST PARK with a playground is on your right-side at the STOO sign. You make a LEFT, and follow that road ALL THE WAY DOWN til you reach THIS PARK. If you make a RIGHT TURN instead, you'll end up on the BACKSIDE of the THIS PARK. I think I wrote WAY TOO MUCH & YET ENOUGH DEETS FOR ALL TO KNOW. So I'm gonna go now. Thank you for reading my post & hope you liked it. MALAMA PONO & A HUI HOU!!!
