Date Item Status 1) 03/27/19 Cooktop Or Range Range Hood Exhaust Fan Complete 2) 05/29/18 Cooktop Or Range Complete On May 29, 2018 I had requested the service to repair the above cooktop and paid the service fee but was never repaired. I again requested to repair the same cooktop on March 27, 2019 and a technician was assigned and a technician did the repair work. After a month the Range Hood exhaust Fan nob that was replaced broke and I try to call the company but could not contact. Later I sent an email requesting the repair or the replacement of the Range hood Nob that was recently done. But the UKH company sent an email stating that I have to request and pay for another service request to the insurance company and they will do that. Now, I am wondering why they poorly repair or replace the cheap parts that did not last for a month ? And Why did they charge me for not doing any repair work in 2018 ? read more

Extremely Horrible service. Very rude and insulting behavior. Please avoid. I generally avoid writing bad about others but these people crossed the limits. Firstly the guy who came to our house (Butch) was an extremely rude guy - no courtesy - no manners - and that's not important - but when we showed our dishwasher problem - he could not locate the problem and just opened up the machine, re-assembled it, told us to check it a few more times and left. And now when we are calling him back again because it still does not work - he screams back at us very rudely and says he has no time for next 5 days. When we called the office number - the lady there too supports him and said that he has no time for next 1 week and even says that I can go back to the insurance agency and get someone else. I'd not even give them 1 star - but that's the lowest I can give them. Please avoid them to avoid disappointment unless if you want to wait for over 3 weeks for your appliance to be repaired and that to after hearing all rude and insulting talk from them. After reading all the reviews here, I panicked and called the home warranty company to reassign to a different company but my home warranty told me that they only have good contractors, so I had to go with them. I'm pretty happy with the way the technician, Butch, diagnosed the problem in seconds. He heard the sound of the fridge, he knew what was wrong and fixed it in less than half hour. BUT, Technician Butch arrived. Found the problem. Ordered the parts needed. Returned and installed them . Hooray. My GE Dryer works right again. Butch was clean and Professional in my opinion. This is the first time using this company due to my landlord's home warranty & I have to say that I am not impressed one bit! Marilyn (the appointment setter) is very friendly but doesn't quite understand the concept that the technician is assigned to diagnose a repair, order parts, & then go back to complete the repair, all with the client's convenience in mind, not the tech's. I don't think she even understands that I am a potential future customer, however, with the way that I have been so inconvenienced & made to feel as though my repair is unimportant because it is a warranty (low pay) repair or I live 'out of the way' or 'I'm the only job her tech has in my area' or that her tech's phone number is not left for me to contact him if I've missed his call due to previous problems with other customer's abusing his phone number' or this or that. For some reason, i ignored the other bad reviews and decided to give them a try. they are horribly disrespectful of people's time. For the first appointment, i was assigned the 2-6 window. I called the morning of to confirm, and they said they had me down for 10-2. They acted like they were doing a huge favor to switch things around so that I could have my service at 1. So, i leave work an hour earlier - and they showed up at 2:30. Decide they need to order a part... It takes two weeks before they tell me they have the part, at this point they ONLY have appointments between 10-2 for the next couple weeks. So, I postpone to get an appointment between 8-12 so that I can at least work a half day. At 12:15 I call them and they say that the technician is on his way- sorry, they were so swamped that they couldn't call me to tell me he was running late. Finally at 1:00 the technician calls me with some sob story about a flat tire and having no cell phone and says he's an hour away and can't get there until 2. AVOID!!! AVOID! Ask for another provider from your home warranty company. So far I have missed 11 hours of work ( I live an hour away from my job) and still have a broken stove. read more

They were sent out by AHS Home Shield. The service man looked at my ice maker by just opening the door and said it was jammed would never work again and I needed a new one. His attitude assumed I was covered for the ice maker which I was not. He definitely thought I would be happy with a new one. The ice maker does work intermittently so it is not jammed. He left and said he would call me with the quote for the item. A month and a half later I called and asked for the quote. Two weeks later they called back to say it would be $230 to replace. Our warranty company sent out UKH to inspect & repair our appliance issue. It took over a week just to get them to call us back even after we left 2 messages. Then they scheduled the appointment for a week+ out. They seem to only have one day a week available & if you can't make it they push it out another week instead of trying to work with your schedule. The repair was fairly simple, however it took over 34 days to get it fixed. This vendor was non-communicative and lied when they missed our scheduled appointment. They insisted they left a message on my cell however I showed no missed call or message. The guy that came out insisted on getting paid right away even though the job hadn't been completed. I wish we would have read these reviews prior to accepting our home warranty company's referral. I sent a complaint to them however so they are aware of what type of vendor they are working with. Hopefully they discontinue referring this company. They are just not professional in the way they do business. read more

Landlords everywhere stay away from this company. I'm stuck with them thanks to my landlord. Repairs from them never work for long. When you have a washer that fails 6 times is 1 month it needs to be replaced not attempted to be repaired. The unit is defective, replace it. When cost of repairs coast now than replacement you are losing money. When you're appliances are broken more than in working order you are doing something wrong. read more

Really happy about their service for fixing my microwave. Technician from UKH could diagnose within seconds what could be the problem and fixed it within 15 minutes. Little history: Old Republic Home warranty sent some other technician for looking at the Viking microwave that wasn't working. That technician came first day, took the check said magnetron has gone bad, without even taking a proper look. Thank my luck he couldn't get the part(he claims), but he took 20 days to finally admit to the old republic that he cannot fix it. then they sent UKH, whose technician fixed it in no time. I just wish Old Republic dispatches UKH more often. (At least for built in microwaves if not for all) Thanks UKH for the excellent diagnosis and service!! read more

Horrible, Horrible, horrible!!!! Patrick is repairing my fridge right noe. From the start he had a snarky attitude. I took it as a grumpy older man having a bad day. He kept talking under his breath and making remarks. So my cousin (who kinda knows about appliances) finally asked him what does he think is wrong with he fridge? He replied "It's not defrosting. Do you know what defrost means?" She said "yes, and I don't appreciate the way your speaking to me." He continued on saying well not everyone knows vocabulary and comprehension. It was the WAY he said it implying we are dumb. I called the company and she tells me he might habe had a bad day... He's close to retiring... I told her I was going to ask him to leave. But my cousin said that he should stay and finish the job that he finish. If my cousin wasn't here I would have had him on his merry way with a smile on my face. Honestly I had never heard of the company, even though I live in Tracy where they are. They were sent to repair a built-in microwave by Old Republic hone warranty. Patrick arrived on time and was a very friendly and knowledgeable guy. He quickly diagnosed the problem and was even able to help us with our stove, which we didn't even report! My Home warranty company sent UKH out to fix my microwave and oven the guy came out and replaced some hinges on my oven. The day after he replaced them I went to use my oven and opened the door and the hinges were not installed correctly and the door wouldn't shut properly. I called my home warranty again they sent the same company out and he claimed we had misused the oven. how is opening and closing your oven door misusing it. My Home Warranty company decided to refer UKH for our dishwasher after unsuccessful attempts from two other contractors that were sent by our warranty. The technician was very knowledgable, helpful and courteous and he knew after asking us a few questions knew what the problem was with the dishwasher. The other two contractors were just flaky and just got the parts ordered and had the warranty company pay for this with no resolution in sight. The technican at UKH not also fixed our dishwasher but also gave us pointers as to how to avoid these issues in future. Would definitely consider UKH for future issues with appliances. I've been having problems with my GE Monier. I've called many appliance repair shops and most of them were reluctant to even touch the frig. Mr. Butch came out from UKH and fixed it in no time. Seriously folks, do not call this company. I got saddled with them because they're contracted through American Home Shield. We called for a basic dishwasher repair and we're now pushing 3 months to get the job completed. When we first called, they told us they needed to order a water pump and that it might take a few days for the part to come in, especially given that it was near the holidays. After the initial repair was done, the dishwasher began leaking. When we contacted them, they first told us that the tech wasn't available until the following week. I protested rather loudly and they sent him out the next day. He didn't even want to stick around long enough into the dishwasher cycle to see the problem. We had to insist that he stay until the problem replicated, which it did and he then said that we needed a new gasket. They had to order the part and it took another 2 weeks for the part to come in. When the tech came back, he installed the part but made it very clear that he had no intention of waiting for the wash cycle to finish to see if the dishwasher would leak again and that if it did, we should just contact the office. That night my husband noticed that the splashguards were missing so we had to call them again and they told us they'd order the part and that was over a month ago! I've been calling for at least 2 weeks and it just goes to an answering machine. Finally today, AHS called to tell me that they spoke with the lady in the office and that they have the part but she can't give me a call until tonight or tomorrow. Seriously?? They've dragged this nonsense out for 3 months and she can't be bothered to call me today? Save yourselves the headache. Very good service, they just fixed my microwave yesterday. They finished it in less that 30 minutes. Above all they looked at my Kenmore refrigerator and told me some clues on what was going wrong (they were not expected to do this, this was a courtesy from them to me). Sears have sent 5 technicians and the problem with refrigerator is not fixed. I see differently that UKH tried to do above the call of duty to fix the issue. read more

The only reason I am using this company is because this is who my home warranty contracted through. I had an appt set between 10-2pm. I told them I had to leave by 1pm and they said no problem, I was his first call. At 12:15pm I called as still no service tech had arrived. After using this company a few years ago for a home warranty claim, I decided to call them again when my refrigerator started leaking. I called on a Monday, requested an appointment, and they returned my call saying they could fit me in on Thursday between 10-2. Though I was disappointed it would take several days, I went ahead and rescheduled things to be home during that time. Then I received a call from Michael, saying that they would have to change my time to Friday. I called back and said I couldn't accept that time. Michael said his technician is unable to come to Pleasanton from San Ramon, and there was no budging. I tried to be pleasant and understanding, but this is just pathetic customer service. If this is the way they conduct business, I doubt they'll be in business much longer. read more
