If you're looking for some fall fun, Burwinkel's is a solid choice…read more Pros: 1. They offer hayrides during the week. Most places only do this on weekends! 2. Assortment of products was interesting. Polish garlic, pear cider, and products from Cherry Republic, to name a few. The pumpkin apple butter is outstanding! It was also hot enough that day that a cider slush was a welcome beverage. 3. Easy parking/walking. Parking is closer than most places, and the terrain is more flat. Cons: 1. Because they aren't a fruit farm (they grow sunflowers, soybeans, corn, and pie pumpkins it appears), the apples and cider are from Indiana. I found the apples to be probably fresher than a grocery store, but not as flavorful as from other places I've been. The cider was decent, but I prefer it elsewhere. 2. The flip side of offering weekday hayrides is you must pay for it. While many places offer a free hayride on weekends to the pumpkin patch, here it is $12/person, but includes (apparently) 2 corn mazes, a pie pumpkin, and a sunflower. They left us for about 45 minutes to complete these tasks. We only saw one corn maze, and it had a scavenger hunt for kids. The pie pumpkins were picked over and sparse. My husband preferred Burwinkel's to other places we've tried, as the experience was easier and less crowded. For the quality of the cider, flavor of the apples, and free hayrides, I prefer Iron's Fruit Farm. BUT, I found Burlwinkel's to have charm and fit the bill. FYI: When we arrived, the card reader wasn't working, so bring cash just in case!

Came here to pick some sunflowers. Had a great time, the flowers were beautiful and cheap. Also on…read morea Friday at 6pm there was no one else there so we had free rein of the field. They also have fresh produce up front. Tip: bring your own scissors
