3.5 Stars: A Satisfying but Unspectacular Sushi Spot in Oslo
While visiting Oslo, we discovered Uchi, a restaurant that drew us in with its clever puns ("Curry up and try our dishes!"). Uchi offers a diverse menu with something for everyone, including a variety of starters, classic sushi, special makis, and hot dishes.
During our visit, we sampled some appetizers and sushi rolls, spending around $15 USD per person. The portion sizes were satisfying, and we left feeling content with our meal.
Although the dishes we tried were good, they were not spectacular--nothing that would make us eager to return. Uchi is a safe bet for a decent meal but doesn't offer anything particularly memorable. Another factor that impacted our experience was the spotty service. We had to seek out our server a couple of times to avoid being forgotten, which was a bit frustrating.
All in all, if you're in the mood for simple sushi or Japanese food, Uchi is a good alternative. Just don't expect to be blown away.
