Their customer service is non-existent. Every number they post is useless and is not answered. check your credit card statements closely. they will charge you for Uber One account that you never authorized. these are fraudulent charges. I complained to Citibank directly and received an instant permanent credit from Citibank. That tells me Citibank is aware of their fraudulent charges. I used them once about a year ago with good results. I got a new phone about a month ago and tried to use them again today after setting up their app again. It let me add my credit card to my account, but when I tried to schedule a ride this morning, they told me that card wasn't accepted. I found another ride to my destination, but I tried to use them again this afternoon using another card. It told me the same thing about the other card, even though I had used both cards throughout the day. I won't try them again. This was a huge inconvenience, and I had to find alternatives both times. Cancellation fee when driver took ride by saying they were 1 minute away. Driver proceeded to go in another direction and after 5 minutes said they would be 10 minutes. I cancelled and they had the gaul to charge me a cancellation fee for inconveniencing their driver. I was the one inconvenienced and they make it a six step process to challenge the fee. Rarely do I leave negative reviews but this situation requires such. I ordered Uber Eats and indicated to the door delivery. First the driver sends me a text indicating he would not come up and at the same time he demanded a tip. I replied he had to because I have a sleeping infant and I have a knee problem right now or I would've gone out. Upon arrival he called me and said "I ain't climbing no stairs". So I told him to keep the food and I'd deal with Uber. It's been over an hour and several messages have gone unanswered. I've had other issues with Uber Eats and I can assure you this is the last. Door Dash has the same restaurant with the same deal so I ordered from them and it just arrived with no issues with a pleasant person who was happy to do the job he signed up for. Avoid Uber Eats. The rideshare service is fine. But the Eats division is horrible. Don't do it. Just avoid it altogether. Here are the texts from this driver. Text from driver: Hello, this is Mo your driver! I have used Uber for rides to and from DFW, airports in Wisconsin and Florida and recently for UberEATS. The only issue I had was in Florida at the airport on my arrival. I did wait 30 minutes before cancelling but I realize it was busy, the layout was confusing and there was two levels... something you couldn't see on the map. Living in Arlington TX you have Texas Rangers, Dallas Cowboys, Six Flags, Hurricane Harbor, University of Texas at Arlington, Lone Star Park, AT&T Stadium... and so much more... and no transit system. If you don't have a car you had to get rides from friends or family. Arlington Uber gives back your independence AND also expands your take-out choices... Ride Pass Not Worth It!!! I bought an Uber ride pass yesterday for $24.99 with the promise of better service and lower fares. I have concluded Uber targets ride pass holders for the following treatment (based on experience). It locks you out of the Uber network, tells you no cars are available, increases the fees substantially, and otherwise prevents the ordering of a car. Yesterday, I tried to order my first ride with my newly-purchased pass in downtown Fort Worth. I could never connect to the network even though I had never had trouble before. I am rating Uber as a former Uberx driver. I quit with a rating of 4.85 after 6 weeks and 44 rides. I did my best to put forth a quality product. I had cold water for my passengers, carried a Garmin GPS and always wore dress pants and a collared shirt. If people want to talk, I talked, if they wanted quiet I was quiet. I had country, jazz and rock programmed on the radio. My car was always vacuumed and the outside was clean. I enjoyed the driving for the most part, but Uber is a very bad company to work for. They don't allow riders to tip. So, for all my efforts to put out a quality product, Uber tells the riders that the tip is included. The reality is, the low rates barely cover the cost of driving for Uber. Uber has the ability to change the rates and add fees. After I was driving for 5 weeks, I see a $10 miscellaneous deduction on my weekly statement. I contact Uber and they tell me that is for the data on the Uber phone. So, can I put the driver app on my own phone? Uber says no. So, I pay Uber $520 yearly to work part time. I get another email stating that starting August 15, Uber will no longer charge riders the $1.90 ride fee. The $1.48 per mile fee is what the passenger will be billed plus the $1 safe ride fee. So, Uber takes 20% of that and they get the $1 safe ride fee. After all is said and done any ride less than 10 miles is unprofitable. So... now I am paying Uber to be a driver. No thanks. What is sad is that Uberx can compete with the taxis at the taxi rates. Most people I know would rather ride Uberx than ride in a taxi. Some tips for riders: Tip your driver cash if you appreciate the ride. That is the only way they can make a profit. Rate your driver 5 stars if you would ride with them again. Think of a 5 star as pass, anything less is a fail. Uber has deactivated drivers with low ratings. Uber is an on demand service. Only request a ride when you are ready. Help your driver locate you. The Uber app can be challenging and the location isn't always correct. If you are at a strip mall, park, on the side of the road etc., call your driver and give him a great landmark to figure out your location. i.e.. I'm at Arby's, or I'm at the tennis courts, or I'm near the bus stop on the south side of the road. If you are in a apartment complex, come to the front. Apartments are the worst and I canceled many times because I got directions like, "I am in the building with the green roof" (It was night) Or vague instructions like, "When you get to the dumpsters turn left" (dumpsters all over) If you don't speak english or have a heavy accent, get an english speaker to call for you or text. Best of luck everyone. This review update is to highlight UberX. It's a great service. Not a town car or SUV, but a private driver and cost half the price of regular Uber. They're not always as fast to arrive as regular Uber, the cars are not as nice, but sometimes it's not necessary. Save a few bucks and use UberX. And please, never drink and drive. It's just not worth putting yourself and others in danger. One more piece of info on Uber and UberX. You rate each driver on the app and they're graded on that rating. Too many low ratings and they get fired. The drivers also rate you, so don't act a fool, or you could get fired, too. read more

Uber...sounds like something drunken frat boys use after a night out of partying too hard. And I'm sure it is, but I, a sophisticated undrunk lady recently used Uber in the middle of the day to get to the airport around the holidays because the parking lots were full. I'm never parking at the airport again! Uber is great! I didn't know exactly how it worked, all I knew is that there was an app and that my friends had used it when they go out to drink. I didn't know that the car would be there to pick me up within 5 minutes! Wait!!! I still hadn't even left my apartment and the car was downstairs waiting on me! Requesting a car is simple. You just put in your pick up location, put in your destination, and hit request. The app shows a picture of your driver and the car they will be driving. The app even tells you how many minutes away the driver is and when the car is arriving. My driver was super nice. The car was clean, I felt safe. I didn't have to have cash on hand because you put your credit card info into the app. Oh and my ride was free anyway because I got a promo code! This is just genius. I didn't trust it at first, so I allowed way too much time for getting to the airport and I ended up at the airport way too early. I will use Uber again in the future. It's nice to know there's a reliable way to get around town when you don't want to do the driving. read more

I love Uber...and I hope they stay around for a long long time. I dont know why people complain....oh I do...its because people dont read! They wonder why it costs 50 bucks during certain periods when other times its 25. Its called surge pricing...and sometimes could be 4x the regular rate. You still get a clean comfortable car and never have to fear if the driver is going to rip you off. I cant stand cabs and have felt my safety compromised a few times. I didnt want to go to some after party....and the cab driver said I am charging you 30 when the normal rate is 20 because he didnt turn on his meter. Not my problem. I have also paid 300 bucks to go from the M Streets to Saginaw because she insisted on going to her brothers place. If Uber existed then...probably no more than 100 to take her drunk ass home. I dont know about you....if you have money to go out and have a few adult bevvies....you can uber your ass home. I love Dallas and Texas overall...but the DWI laws are a mega biatch!! You could have had a glass of wine and get pulled over. Officer Cowboy could be having a bad day and arrest you just for that. I am big fan of Uber and use it a couple times a week. I popped my uber cherry in Dallas. And it was AWESOME. Got the app, got my first-time promo code and, with racing heart, requested a car. Really, you'd think I was requesting a drug drop-off or gigolo for how nervous I was. Went from outskirts of Dallas to downtown. Couldn't have been easier. Car pulled up, I got in, he drove to my destination, I got out. Voila. Used it three more times in 24 hours--hotel to nightspot, nightspot to hotel (in the wee hours), hotel to airport. All good experiences. Clean cars, polite drivers, no hassle. I may never use a taxi again; certainly not in Dallas, where I have not once had anything but horrible experiences. read more

Love love love! Even if Im going just a few blocks Ill spend the money on an uber rather than a cab. The Uber vehicles are always so clean; black car/suv with a leather interior. The cabs in dallas always have a horrible stench and I fear smelling like that when I get out. I never have that worry with Uber. Not to mention as a female I feel way more safe taking an Uber by myself than a cab. When I request an Uber my name, phone number, etc is registered. Once dropped off the driver closes my tab and I get a confirmation email. This is also registered in Uber's data base. If for some reason something happened to me, the police would be able to see where I was picked up and where I was dropped off specifically by the Uber GPS. Cabs don't have this! Not only that, I doubt they even remember who they've driven around. The other thing I like is that Uber has a flat rate and you don't bother with tipping. On many occasions cabs have taken the long route or argued with me on the total amount. Im from Dallas so I know my way around. Don't try to argue with me on the shortest routes around uptown especially when its obvious you didn't go the short route! Overall I encourage you to try Uber. Its definitely worth it. Plus who wants to show up to a formal/dressy event in a bright yellow cab. A black car looks so much classier! read more

UBER AIRPORT TIP: Move the pin to just outside the airport, click for an UberX. Call the driver immediately and tell them where you actually are. I do this all over the country, particularly in SF. It's sort of the unwritten airport rule for Uber riders. I have only once had a driver say he couldn't come (and it was Lyft!) so I called Uber instead. I do not believe that regulators have a right to tell me which vendor I can and cannot support, or force me to spend my money on a more expensive and less effective product, nor can they tell me that my "cousin" can't pick me up at the airport. Airports and roads are paid for with my tax dollars, so they work for me, not the other way around. Just 2c worth of thought :). read more

It's been mostly good, but let me tell you about my awful recent experience. I'm a frequent traveler, so I use it in every metro area that it is available. I'm having some serious reservations about using it in again when I'm in Dallas. On Friday 9/6, I called an Uber black car from the Dallas-Ft. Worth Airport. The first car made me wait over 10 minutes then decided not to show up. I called him numerous times, but he never picked up his phone. Then I got the message from Uber that another driver was on the way. 15 minutes later, the driver sped past me as I was waiting for him on the sidewalk with specific instruction that I was at door E15. When he realized that he passed me and ended up at E14, he came to a screeching halt. He saw me waving at him in his rear view mirror. He pulled into an adjacent parking lot and then called me. Then he ordered me to bring my 2 oversized luggage and walk to the parking lot in the 100 degree heat to meet him. So I did. When I got to the parking lot, he had so much of his personal trash in the trunk that he could not fit my suitcases in. It was disgusting. The door kept popping open as he would drive. Finally, he moved some things into the back of the SUV. And we took off. While he was driving like a maniac, he was looking at his phone. He was either reading an email, text messages or the map because he had no idea where he was going. Then we got to the toll booth. He gets in the longest line. All the cars next to us are speeding past us through the other gates. There was clearly a problem at the gate that we were waiting behind. But he refused to move into another lane. Finally we got to right behind the booth gate, and he said he lost his ticket. He put his car in park, got out of the car and searched his entire car from ceiling to floor for this missing ticket. It was outrageous. Another 10 minutes wasted. Then he finally found his ticket. I was going to the Rosewood Crescent Hotel in downtown, which is practically my second home, so I know this route very well. It was the longest trip I'd ever taken from the DFW airport. When we arrived at the hotel, the valets opened the trunk of the car to get my luggage out and everything fell out along with his trash and metal poles. So embarrassing. I've noticed that a few times, I've ended up with the same Uber drivers while I'm in Dallas. I hope that I don't ever end up with this guy ever. And if I do end up getting this driver, I hope I'm allowed to cancel the trip without penalty. read more

After using Uber this weekend I am a fan. We took an UberX car (regular non-suv, non black car) to Addison for a birthday party. Our driver, Bart was on time and courteous. His car did smell like cigarette smoke which was unfortunate but I couldn't tell if it was him or passengers who were the culprits. Anyways, Bart got us to our destination in 20 minutes and wished us well. When the party started winding down I opened my Uber app and requested a pick up. A car was 6 minutes away. I run to use the restroom and while in there the driver calls and says she is outside. Very fast! Deanna was our second driver and she was very friendly and talkative. You could tell she liked driving for Uber and made the ride home enjoyable. Right now the app offers 25% off rides with UberX for the summer so that dropped our ride home to $15 from $19, which was nice. We will definitely use again. read more

While the cars were clean and drivers were friendly, their eta was always inaccurate and thy seriously had no clue about the city and where to go. Hello GPS!? Had two issues with Uber this past week. Was out in the LA area and the driver just decided not to show up. This is after waiting for 45 minutes. He called 3 times and had the hotel address. We could see him on the GPS map 2 blocks away. He turned around and just left. Late for a meeting and got my ass chewed out. Just checked my AMEX bill. I had $1400 in fraud billed to Uber. I would give ZERO stars if I could. Uber charged me over $100 for a ride that I did not take. When I saw my email receipt the next morning I immediately called the driver and he confirmed that there was some sort of error because our ride was less than 5 minutes. Since then, Uber has refused to refund the money stating that now the driver is saying we indeed did take the ride, which buy the way is 20 miles in the opposite direction of where we intended to go. I have been using Uber to drop me at the dfw airport for a few years now and the fare has always ranged between 25 and 30, regardless of the time or day. Last night I arrived at midnight and the fare was 60. I felt blindsided, and didn't have an alternative ( but will next time) so I took it. My other issue is when I went to Uber's app to register my disappointment there was no contact us link or rate their service as a company. I know it wasn't the drivers fault so I didn't want to give him a poor rating. So, my take away from this experience was to have a competitors app on my phone so I'm not stranded if Uber's trip charge is unusually high at the time. read more

Getting around Dallas on a night out isn't always super easy. The MATA trolley runs in a limited area, the light rail is more daytime oriented, and Dallas cab drivers are the pits. Enter: Uber! I was introduced to Uber in Toronto at a Yelp event with a free $30 credit and used it for a 10 minute ride back to the hotel. After the first trip went to so well, I was excited Uber was also available here in Dallas. Once you pin your location in the app and dispatch a ride, you can track the driver's location or call them directly at any time from the app. I've now used Uber 3 times in Dallas and every experience has been painless. In Toronto, they offer a choice of taxi, town car, or SUV service. In Dallas, they only offer town car or SUV service. If you opt for a town car but an SUV shows up, you only get charged for the town car rate. Nice! The sleek Tahoe that picked us up on recent service was really nice with a very friendly driver and chilled bottled water in the back. The only hiccup I've experienced was on the last trip, a driver forgot to terminate the trip on his iPhone and we got a bit overcharged on the time portion of the fare. I emailed Uber customer service and within 15 minutes, issued a refund of the extra portion along with a friendly email. Very impressive! Be aware that the minimum charge in Dallas is $15 for a town car service. I wouldn't recommend using the service for trips less than 1.5 miles as you be charged a minimum of $15 for a very brief trip. But for a painless, and cashless, night out where you don't have to working about driving or parking, Uber is now one of my favorite apps! read more

Great business concept. I arrived DFW, opened my app and within 5 min of my request a black Suburban pulled up to me at Terminal A. On the Uber app, you could actually see on a map where your driver was and his vehicle's movement. Pretty cool. The driver was wearing slacks, white shirt, and a tie, and the SUV was very clean. I spoke highly about until tonight's experience. I requested an uber select to pick me up at the airport and the driver calls me to tell me that he is 30 minutes away and that the Black would cost me the same fare that was going to be about $21.00. Mind you I only went 4 miles and he charged me $41.00. I contacted the driver after dropping me off to question the fare and he argues with me. I can see how this works really well for passengers. Surges are easy to avoid too. But this review will be made as a driver. It's really hard to make a lot out of driving full time. You have to consider the gas, wear and tear, and mileage that uber does not compensate for. I drove part time (January 2015) for just 3 weeks and here are some of my thoughts after driving: 1. Only drive when there's a surge!!! Otherwise, not worth. The best times are weekend nights when bars close. Surges can go above 6x 2. Don't chase the surge. By the time you get there, it's probably gone. 3. If you must chase, go offline until you're there. Otherwise you'll get a ton of requests and if you ignore a certain amount, you'll be locked out for like 10 minutes. 4. Avoid the suburbs. But if you must, Addison is one that gets random surges. 5. Airports are great places to linger around. Love field surges all the time. 6. Uber takes 20% away for commission. The worst thing. 7. You are allowed to reject a passenger if you feel unsafe. 8. Keep your car clean, have barf bags, offer gum and chargers. It'll help with your rating. What I did like about uber was meeting all kinds of people, networking even, exploring the city, and the easy money made when there's a huge surge! One time I made $128 (before uber took their portion) off one ride from uptown to garland. About 20 miles and the surge was 6x. After being on this side of the wheel, I really know to appreciate uber and lyft drivers. You really should tip! (Even though it's not expected for uber) read more

Tried two new things that as a family we will never try again. Uber ans Spirit Airlines. Uber driver was on time and that was nice, but once in the car to the airport my wife did not want to answer any question for safety reasons. Second the driver wanted to sell me insurance. Cost to airport was 14 bucks, not bad but when we needed a ride back form airport you had to take the "Black Car" service which was 48-60 bucks. So we took a cab 35. The app is not user freindly. Many bad experiences. First, called Uber to take myself and 2 fellow travelers to airport with luggage. His trunk was full of tools, no room for baggage. Another time waited 45 minutes with no response to texts. Call center said car was not moving - duh. Another time, when I explained to driver that I was in gated area and he would have to show ID, he started yelling at me and refused to pick me up. Another driver was turned back at the gate, with no explanation from Uber - no ride. Many times, Uber says ride is 5 minutes away, but time is more like 30-45 minutes. Last ride - asked driver for intermediate stop to hit a convenience store - said I would pay. When I exited the store, he spit at my feet. Never again.
