9/24/24 - Absolutely inexcusable terrible treatment from Cowboy Cab and Yellow Cab today. I have not taken a cab in years because the last time I did they left me for about 5 hours overnight at Walmart before a cab came for me. I am a disabled U.S.M.C. Veteran and I do not drive. I have 5 upcoming Vet appointments in Seagoville Tx. and needed to get them in for check - ups. I called Cowboy Cab and told them how I was treated in the past and ask if they have improved customer relations and they assured me they have. My appointment was at 11:15 at the Vet Hospital and Cowboy never showed up or even had the respect and consideration to tell me they simply were not coming. When I called Cowboy at the same time my Appointment was suppose to be the guy says well thats why you need to keep calling and checking wtf. So the Vet Hospital rescheduled me for a 1:45 p.m. appointment and I called Yellow Cab and told them how Cowboy Cab treated me and the lady even apologized for them and said she would even call me when they were on the way to pick us up lol I waited until 1:35 p.m. and they never showed up or had the respect or consideration to call me. Do you realize how unfair it was to have an appointment taking up their time that another sick animal could have been seen and then just not show up. I think the problem is the drivers can pick the fairs they choose and screw you to the others where they might make less money on the fair. My trips to the Vet would have been 3 - 4 miles only. After the treatment I received today from Cowboy Cab and Yellow Cab I would be afraid to take another cab the rest of my life. Where but Texas would you find "Cowboy Cab"? Oh, I know, Oklahoma or Wyoming are good candidates, but I found Cowboy Cab in Dallas. Unlike one of their competitors, Yellow Cab, which doesn't answer their phone when you call for a cab, Cowboy Cab was prompt. I wanted a cab for 5:45 AM to go to the airport. A couple of minutes before 5:45 AM, the driver called to say he was outside. My luggage was loaded and a pleasant drive to the airport ensued. Poorly operated, horrible customer service. Booked a cab through this company, was told someone was on their way, and that I would receive a call from my driver shortly. Nearly an hour later (I was having to wait outside and it was 50° and raining) I called to find out where my driver was. I was told that although a driver was assigned to my trip, they couldn't see him on their map, couldn't tell me how far away he was, and couldn't get in touch with them. Then they told me they usually don't even pick up from my location! So despite a driver being assigned to my trip, they just weren't going to show up, I suppose?!? The representative on the phone was not even a little bit helpful. She told my she couldn't contact the driver, and rather than assign another driver to me trip, she suggested I just flag down a cab instead. It's like she knows their own service is sh*tty. What kind of a company schedules rides for addresses they don't service, fails to notify riders if there is an issue with fulfilling their ride, and can't even contact their drivers about assigned rides, nor is able to locate their drivers? Zero stars. I was told that the driver would meet me in 20 minutes at the pickup address. When I got there 5 minutes early I called to ask what kind of car to look for and was told that the "dispatchers were still assigning a driver to send." WTF? The first call made it sound like the ride was arranged, and then suddenly it's not? The guy said he meant it would take about 20 minutes to arrange the ride, which is about the lamest explanation possible, besides being a flat-out lie. Then he lied again when he said that the dispatchers would call me back "in a few minutes" when they had assigned a driver. That was last night at 8:15 p.m. and it's now 12:30 p.m. the following day. Still waiting for that callback. Fortunately it was obvious that I was being lied to so I called another company (SA Limo Services), which was not only operating in the bad weather but actually showed up on time with a beautiful car and a pleasant driver. read more

Would give 0 stars if possible. Called at 1:30am and was told I would have a cab in 15 to 20 minutes. Called after 20 min and was told 10 more minutes. Fine. Called when that 10 minutes was up and was told no driver had even been assigned to me. That they were "very busy" bc of the holiday (NYE - I mean obviously. You should've planned for that?!) They said I could wait another 30 min or cancel. Then they hung up on me. No wonder uber and Lyft are taking the business of taxi companies like this. Horrible service. On Tuesday reserved a ride to the bus station. Pick up at 9 to arrive at 9:40 on Saturday. Trip time is 20 minutes. Started calling at 9AM. Where's the taxi? Multiple calls and disconnects later, no taxi. Missed the bus, lost the non refundable fare. Taxi driver called at 10:30 to let me know he was 15 to 20 minutes away. I said I wasn't sure if the exact address, but we were at the Winspear Opera House. He audibly sighed and said "ma'am, you're gonna have to call is back with the exact address, because we are really busy right now." Always fast, efficient, nice on the phone. All you could ever ask for in a cab company! On my most recent experience, they promptly arrived at my door within 10 minutes to take me downtown. I asked him to step on it and he did...something most Dallas cab drivers completely ignore. He made sure I got safely to the car I was retrieving (we circled the lot until we found it), then also provided exit directions. We had problems with other cab companies and had the restaurant call for one. They trusted this company and our driver was great. He was there quickly, waiting outside the door and knew exactly where he was going and took the best route. We got back to the hotel in record time. My family and I needed a cab to DFW airport from Frisco, and I was assigned the task of calling around and finding a cab company. After looking here for suggestions, I was not impressed with the options Dallas had to offer. My dad had received some very negative feedback on Yellow Cab, so I decided to go with Cowboy Cab after calling around for quotes. Pros: - The person on the phone spoke fluent English, and someone actually answered the phone. - Driver was scheduled to arrive at 2 PM, showed up at 1:55 PM. - Driver was Persian (my dad's Persian), so that was cool. - Way cheaper than the other cab companies I called, like 20-30% cheaper. Cons: - Driver didn't even attempt or offer to help me load/unload heavy luggage. I know I'm healthy and fit, and it was like 38 degrees and there was sleet coming down, but I'm one guy lifting 50 pound bags. Overall, I'd recommend them. I was dreading the experience from reviews I'd read here, so I was pleasantly surprised by the service. read more

Here's what you do: round up a few dozen stray cats and attach them to a sled or even a cardboard box on top of roller skates. In the time that it takes you to do that and make the trip, your Cowboy Cab driver will still be en route to your house.. but lucky you, you're already at the destination! Yay! Even if he makes it to your house before you've finished your Catmobile, trust me, the feral cats might just be more enjoyable company for a car trip. They won't call and leave you angry voicemails because you missed their call by a millisecond -- all while you're actually on the line calling them back. They won't be on their cellphones during your journey with the poor dirty-foot girl they stumbled upon last night, proudly talking about the size of their phallus and making terrible threats about what they could do with it. (Seriously, this all happened at various points of my relationship with the company.) The cats won't tell you that you never called in when you call dispatch almost 30 minutes after you placed your original call for a cab. Then when you make a rebuttal with the precise time you called in and the dispatcher you spoke to, they won't suddenly change their story to "Oh, the driver came and was parked outside and you didn't answer," despite having no missed phone call whatsoever and exceptional cell phone reception in your house. They also wouldn't try that excuse multiple times instead of just admitting to someone's failure on their end to perform their job. No one is perfect, sure, but I don't expect to be blamed every time your imperfections come to the surface. So... DIY Feral Cat Sleds vs. Cowboy with Uncouth Phallus Cabs? There's no contest. EXCELLENT service and very friendly driver! I called from my apartment on Henderson at close to 10:30 this evening for a responsible way to get to the clubs on Cedar Springs (and not have to deal with parking). The driver was here in five minutes right outside my door and very nice on the way there. The cab ride home, though, was shady. I don't know what the cab company was....I just jumped in the first available outside of S4. Smelly cab with the Check Engine light on. (?) And for some weird reason it cost more to get home than it did to get there! If I could do it over again I would have searched for a Cowboy Cab in line instead of first available. RIP OFF merchants. I'm still deciding whether to officially report our driver. We had walked out of American Airlines centre and were heading to the taxi rank, when a driver pulled up and asked where we were going. He said he could take us Downtown but when we opened the door, there was already two passengers in there. We were surprised and they clearly weren't impressed. When the driver stopped at their hotel we offered to cover the total fare because we had shared - but no, the driver said it had to be two separate fares... So he could make double the money. They paid $10. A minute later we got to our hotel and were charged $11. When I went to pay with credit card he said it had to be cash. I told him I needed a receipt and wanted to pay with my corporate travel card. He claimed 'he was helping us out' and it was "his last job" so it had to be cash. So he asked my mate for money. My friend just handed over the cash (which we ended up needing to exit our parking lot the next day - meaning a walk in the rain to the ATM). When i asked for a receipt the driver said no. When I asked for his ID number he said no. As far as I'm concerned of the six cab rides taken in Dallas last week, Cowboy were by far the worst. read more

This company is a joke. We called on Friday to reserve a pick-up at 8pm the next day, Saturday. At 8:10pm on Saturday we called to see where the cab was. We were told it would be another 40 minutes. Apparently they don't know what a reservation actually is. We ended up calling Yellow Cab and they showed up in 15 minutes! Cowboy Cab never called back or showed up. DO NOT (REPEAT DO NOT) USE THEM UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE!!! Walk away from their cabs, no run to your final destination and you will get there safer & with much less stress. Had an extremely ugly negative experience the weekend before New Years after a late night event at the Dallas Convention Center. After hailing and entering the cab, the driver in this order 1) refused to run the meter, 2) refused to show his ID & occupational license when I told him it was state law to do so, 3) told me to get the eff out of "his" cab in very loud, forceful, angry, threatful voice, 4) then refused to take me safely to the curb. So far I have filed complaints with City of Dallas (took my compaint and asked me a few questions but has done nothing to my knowledge), the State AG's office, directly with Cowboy Cab and Dallas PD. Still to do Dallas Convention Center since that is where I hailed it. Parts of America yes are now 3rd world. This particular driver I believe of Egyptian heritage and yes you get that kind of treatment over there en Egipto but here in Dallas USA??? I travel extensively to South America dangerous places and never experience this kind of mal-treatment. read more

I prebooked this cab service THREE WEEKS in advance to ensure I had a reservation and also called to confirm with them that the reservations were valid and they confirmed. On the night of my reservation, they never showed up and every time I called them, they said they were "working on it" and would be there in 10-15 min! I'd gone out with a few girlfriends last weekend, and because we'd ALL had a little too much to drink, we all decided it'd be best if we took/shared a cab (I was walking distance, but honestly, the way I was dressed + East Dallas.... um, yeah). Somehow, a driver showed up from Cowboy Cab. I literally freaked, to hell how I was dressed! My girlfriends coaxed me into getting into the cab with them, I was the first drop off... HOLY CRAP! Homeboy would NOT stop playing what was apparently 2 Live Crew's Greatest Hits, it took everything I could to keep from beating this "wanna be playa" upside his head, if you want to get down to the nitty gritty. I asked him to change the music, which fortunately he did... to SARAH MCLAUGHLIN. Holy $hit, it was 9 minutes of pure hell. Thankfully, my girlfriends got home safely, but I swear to God and all things holy, I will NEVER, ever, us this company again. I called the company to make sure the driver wasn't lost, and the phone attendant was incredibly rude to me. I was definitely wary after reading some of the reviews, but I really needed a cab to get to and from work when my car broke down. They came within 15 minutes of me calling, and they were polite on the phone. They were definitely more expensive than I would've liked, but since my car breaking down isn't a regular occurrence (hopefully), I would use them again if necessary. read more

Fuck one of their drivers. I had just gotten off work at Six Flags (11/26, around 8:00-8:15 pm) and there was one of their drivers leaving the same time I was. First, he cut me off so he can be first (I guess?), then he goes ridiculously slow from exiting the employee parking to the stop lights at the corner of the gas station, and going onto the freeway he still going slow until I went onto another lane. When I looked at who was driving, all I see is the driver giving me the finger and yelling at me. And now I am trying to call their office, trying for about 5 minutes now and NO ONE is answering. This company engages in racist and discriminatory practices. I am new to the state and have used this service at least a dozen times. They have my phone number and name in their system and know who I am when I call, referring to me by name. They also know how many times I have ridden with them and that I have consistently paid and tipped their drivers. I am who should be considered a good and valued customer. I recently rented an apartment from which Cowboy Cab has picked me up and dropped me off several times. On July 31, 2018, I called for a cab to pick me up and take me to Walmart. While waiting outside I received a phone call from the dispatcher stating that the driver did not want to come to my area, because there are a lot of drug dealers and prostitutes. Immediately, I let him know that I felt disrespected and was offended. First of all, Cowboy Cab knows that I've done a lot of business with them --- problem free. Secondly, I am deeply offended, because I live in a working class community. People here work and pay their rent. In fact, this place is considered to be on the high end for rent costs, but because it's a predominantly black community the cab driver decided to use his racist views to vilify an entire community of people, which was fully supported by the dispatcher, although he recognized that I'd done a lot of business with them. After waiting outside for about 15 minutes giving the dispatcher very clear instructions about which building number I was at and a very large and obvious object that I was standing near, the cab driver continued to claim that he couldn't see me standing on the sidewalk in a bright orange shirt on the phone with their dispatcher. He couldn't locate me, because he didn't want to. If he'd driven around the building he could have easily spotted me and I would have seen him, but he decided to drive past just one side of the building, so that he could say that he showed up and I wasn't there. Do not support businesses that engage in racist or discriminatory practices and think that it's okay to disrespect black people while still taking our money. I will not give this company another dime and will be filing complaints with the appropriate government agencies. read more
