When we first walked by this place, some of the prices deterred us from going in, but it was raining and I saw they had pretty solid reviews so we stopped in for dinner. I expected the food to be good, but the sushi was fantastic! The snow crab and cream cheese sushi was without question the best crab sushi I've ever had (and I've had a lot!). The crab and avocado one was delicious as well. Unique sauce and flavor for both and tasted extremely fresh. We ended up just sharing the ramen udon as the main dish. I thought it was pretty good, but my girlfriend didn't like the flavor of the noodles (but she's never been a fan of udon so take that for what it is). But the sushi here is really what made the meal great. I'm coming back for more crab :) read more

We got takeout from Usushi for dinner tonight using a groupon. Had no problems placing the order over the phone. The food was all packaged up and ready to go when we arrived, and the waitress who took payment was very nice. The food itself was very good, although the rolls were slightly on the small side. We got the vegetable roll, avocado with cucumber roll, and some miso soup. The miso was larger than expected and tasted authentic. The sushi was fresh and tasty. read more

I've had U-sushi delivered twice now, and I am a huge fan. They have not messed up on any substitutions (I have some food allergies that I worry about at sushi places sometimes), which is extremely common for me at other restaurants! They deliver very quickly and the food is reasonably priced and tasty! I highly recommend crazy maki roll, spicy tuna maki roll, and the tuna jalapeño maki roll. The only reason I didn't give it the fifth star is because the second time I ordered the jalapeño roll was so spicy that it made it difficult to eat, and I can definitely handle spice. read more

Love them! Try the Lauren roll and pretty much any hand roll. They deliver quickly and customer service is great!

I have now been to U-Sushi twice and it is definitely my go to when visiting the Boston/Brookline area. Being a minute's walking distance from the nearby Courtyard, U-Sushi offers a standard "Americanized" Japanese menu in a cozy venue with about 6 small tables and a 3 seat sushi bar. There is a TV tuned to sports or bad sitcoms. Twice now, I have sat at the bar and been served by the same chef who is clearly good at what he does and has a keen attention to detail within the restaurant. If you need something, he asks you what you need before you even need to get his attention. Customer service is thus great. The freshness of the fish also stands out here. My Yellowtail sashimi was like butter and without a hint of fishiness or iron that you sometimes get with these cuts. The tempora within my rolls was also good quality: somewhat sweet and crispy batter, fried just right. A solid sushi restaurant for the visitor or regulars. read more

Short and sweet, only reason I'm docking a star is because it's obviously Chinese operated and for a Japanese food establishment I just wouldn't feel right giving them the full five stars in this category. Service is great, they generally know exactly when you do or don't need something and you shouldn't have to call them. Primarily because it's a small and quaint establishment. The place itself is decorated fairly nicely, although a bit cliche, and is comfortably lit quite dimly. In regards to the TV, the employees will have no problem turning it off for any patrons, man up if you have a request, the worst they can do is say no (or spit in your food... JK^^). Orders are prepared quickly and everything is hot when you receive it. The hot tea and miso soup are scalding hot, which is a big plus in my book. Any deep fried order you get is coated in a light batter that doesn't overwhelm you and doesn't taste like it's been fried in extremely old oil. Some of the rolls are a little basic and taste bland, but you have to really try rolls like the Crazy & Spider here. Not to mention all of this is pretty cheap and will satisfy that sushi craving for a reasonable price. Oh yeah, they have booze. Do yourself a favor and wash down all this delicious grub with a good Sapporo or something. read more

I absolutely adore U-Sushi! It's starting to become a weekly ritual of mine because of their great sushi and unbeatable prices. The staff is super friendly and even though it's a small place, I highly recommend you try it out. The sushi is fresh and innovative and they are flexible if you want to add/takeaway an ingredient from a roll. I always want to add cream cheese to the Crazy Maki - delicious! They have an amazing shrimp tempura roll and spider roll, and you can't go wrong with their specialty rolls. The one with mango is also a fav! Try this place out, you won't regret it. read more

Great sushi and great service! Will definitely be back! Customer service 10/10 and the food was great. Good for takeout and good for eat in. read more

Went here for a business lunch. Absolutely fabulous!! Tried the Lauren Maki and it hit the spot. Very unique taste with the green apple - crisp and enjoyable. Also got the house boat and tried a little bit of everything. Finished off with the mango mochi ice cream. Will definitely be back! It was fantastic. read more

I was a huge fan of Ginca and was sad to see the lovely couple who ran it leave. The new owners did a nice re-model. Even though it is small it is quite comfortable. That being said, the food is good. The baby taco(Octopus) appetizer was great and the popcorn shrimp with spicy mayo was also good. One complaint I had was the spicy tuna roll. The tuna was chopped and mixed with sesame oil (I think). Just too strong a taste for me. They get two stars because of price. Most of the rolls are from $12 to $16. We went with the lunch specials (3 rolls for $11). They were supposed to come with Miso soup and salad which we never got. One last thing, the waitress had zero personality. I don't expect her to do a song and dance, but possibly a nice greeting or a smile wouldn't hurt. read more

This place used to be amazing until the new management put a giant flat screen on the back wall. Its horribly distracting as the restaurant is TINY and looking at the TV is unavoidable.... it completely destroys the intimate atmosphere of the restaurant. TURN OFF THE TV AND LET US ENJOY OUR QUIET CONVERSATION AND DINING EXPERIENCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sushi is still delicious though- and cheaper then most other places in Boston. read more

I went to USushi on a rainy Saturday afternoon. It was quiet, but that seems normal. there was one server/ hostess. she was attentive and friendly. I ordered a no rice maki for a appetizer. It arrived quickly. I ordered, miso, lousiani maki (crawfish!), uni avo maki and yellowtail sashimi. I had sauvignon blanc and hot tea. the maki's were firm without too much rice. The sashimi was a little frozen (thus 4 stars) otherwise I enjoyed it very much and will return. read more

If you are craving a good bento box or some quick sushi, this is the place for you. It's literally a hole-in-the-wall place that has exactly 6 tables and 4 chairs at the bar. Most of their business seems to come from take-out but we decided to eat in because wasn't busy at all and the staff were extremely welcoming and attentive. Their bento lunch special was cooked beautifully and everything was seasoned appropriately. The spicy salmon roll wasn't spicy but still good. The philly roll was phenomenal. The salmon was incredibly fresh and came with nice big chunks of it in the roll. We will definitely be back again for their lunch specials! Check out my blog (complete with pictures and childish humor) for the full review! http://thesuchef.org/2013/10/06/u-sushi/ read more

I decided to try this for lunch based on the reviews, and the 3-roll special for $13 is a good deal, although for only $4 more you can have AYCE down the street. I gather that U Sushi is considered somewhat higher quality, but personally I couldn't tell the difference. It may well be the same at all sushi places, but the salad was a whole lot of iceberg with just a few slices of cuke and nothing else. There are about 16 types of Maki available for the lunch specials - I had tuna, shrimp tempura and snow crap. I ordered the latter as I had seen people raving about it, although that might have been at Genki Ya - which I haven't tried yet. It was my least favorite of the three, as I didn't like the taste, but have no idea what component of it caused that. The other two were good, but I couldn't really distinguish them from what I've had elsewhere. I usually don't order beer with meals out - although will consider draft. Basically, I'm willing to pass rather than pay $5 for something I can get for little more than one dollar retail. I did notice something rather strange here: the Bud Lite (not really even a beer) was priced at $5, along with Sam Adams and Sapporo - which each are perhaps a tenfold increase in value over the former. read more

OMG the most fresh delicious sushi I've had on the East Coast! And it's the most affordable too! Small place, clean, modern. Only maybe 4 or 5 small tables but I've never seen it packed our had to wait. We do usually order to take out. After eating here I was blown away. The quality is 200% better than Fugakyu and a 3rd the price without any of the pretence. Keep it up guys your amazing! read more

Food took an hour and 40 minutes to arrive. The delivery person was incredible rude and offered no apology. The food was cold and was sub par. Will not be ordering from here again. read more

I used Foodler to get my sushi delivered and it came at exactly the time that was indicated. My order was complete. The sushi was fresh and delicious!! This place is good. We tried their spicy tuna maki, spider maki, black forest maki, and crazy maki. My favorite was their spider maki. Fish to rice ratio was good but the overall size of these rolls was just average. Delivery came very quickly. read more

I hate writing bad reviews for restaurants because I work in the industry but this was really disappointing. I have ordered from U Sushi before and it was fine. It got the job done plus it has a low minimum, low delivery charge and they do a free edamame with a purchase of $15 or more so I decided to order delivery from them again. My meal came without the edamame so I called back and very nicely explained they forgot it. The lady offered to have it sent to me. Awesome! 20 minutes later they called and said it wasn't listed on the fax order sent by Foodler (which I DID click the button to add it before submitting the order). Okay whatever, I didn't argue because what's the point. BUT even on their official website they promote the free edamame with $15 or more. So you're telling me you didn't know to add a deal that is promote don your own website? Don't blame Foodler because even in the event there was a technical glitch you know what your own restaurant offers. The free edamame was the main reason I ordered from here. I could get better sushi for the same place and just forgo the free edamame. read more

The lunch special really makes this place. The sushi is fresh, and you get a lot of bang for your buck (especially if you order the bento boxes with pork katsu or something equivalent). They're really kind and if you dine in, it's a very casual environment (read: you'll probably have to get the waitstaff's attention, not the other way around). However, if you don't mind that, it's a great little spot. read more

Quick, easy, and relatively inexpensive when it comes to sushi. Consistently good and has a large selection of basic and special rolls.

I been ordering delivery from this place for a while now.The wait time is ok, the food is alright, so i come back once in a while when im hungry. I been waiting for something good to happen so i can write a good review about this restaurant. However I just placed my order today for delivery like i always did. One hours pass and my food have not arrive, so i called the restaurant, the lady has a quick hurry pace tone of voice. I ask her when my order will arrive, she put me on hold and tell me around 10 minutes more time (that mean probably another 20 minutes) Then i was like "........" then she said i can cancel your order if you like... I mean wtf excuse my French but really!? After waiting for over an hour and all you do is offer cancel my food? ok... very unreliable especially treating your somewhat regular customer like that. Then she said in very quick impatient voice " thank you bye bye" then hung up the phone... Well i didnt said all that to her, all i said is "ok" One thing i like about them is they give you free edamame if you order $15 or more and something else at $25 and $50 but what good does it do if the food never arrive and the lady will just offer to cancel you order after you are starving for over an hour... Anyway beside that their food is ok, delivery and customer service, mehh i dont know man! I really do want to like this place but they wont let me. read more

Egregious customer service. They were unable to deliver an item I ordered online due to some glitch in their ordering system. Instead of offering a complimentary replacement, they asked me to pay extra for the corresponding dinner entree. ___Not even an apology___! They didn't care when I pointed out to them that the customer should not have to pay up and cover for what is their fault. It was plain rudeness and arrogance. These people are better avoided. read more

Very good sushi at decent prices, excellent service and friendly staff. We came with a baby and they were very accommodating. We had edamame and gyoza for appetizer and they delivered. Sushi is fantastic here. Also, if you are trying to eat healthy, I don't know what they do, but the brown rice is incredible here.

I'd rather give this place 3.5 stars. I've gotten their lunch special on occasion and it is a good price with solid sushi. I don't think it's anything special though (i.e. not a sushi destination), just a good place to get a quick sushi fix. read more

U-Sushi - Sushi Bars Near Me - Brookline, Massachusetts

I am a sushi fanatic and consider myself to be somewhat of a sushi snob. Nothing will ever live up to the place I go to back home, but Usushi has good quality sushi for a decent price. Decor and ambiance is a little tacky and impersonal for me, but the food and service is good. Usushi and Snappy Sushi are my top 2 that I've found in Boston. read more

This sushi restaurant is a very good option I live just a couple of blocks away and one day I decided to try it. Their ingredients are very fresh and their rolls are very good tasting. I don't give the 5 stars for 2 reasons. Firstly because it should be easier to customize your roll, swiching the ingredients and sauces from it and secondly because last time I've order the Tempura and it wasn't good at all, pricy and the veggies were cut very big. read more
