I was surprised at the bad reviews on here. My experience was perfect! The worker at the window was friendly and helpful. I'd go here again.

I agree with the person who said this location gives post offices a bad name. They are snarky and cranky. I think I'll have to check out Glen Carbon or somewhere else. All the locations I've used in St Louis had helpful staff. Or upstate IL too. They have all been decent. What is the deal with Edwardsville? Supplies can be ordered online from usps.com. I highly recommend that if you just need stamps. Mailing a package.... i probably will use UPS or FedEx next time. The staff here are just flat out rude. It's amazing. I've lived in 6 states over the years. This is the worst post office annex I've encountered. The manager should step in but don't hold your breath. I think nationally the PO is doing the best it can overall. However, don't expect a polite clerk who is helpful if you use this location. Just get in/out as fast as you can but....warning..... the line may be long. Too bad they don't install seating. It'd be useful. read more

While the postal delivery team does a fine job, the male front desk worker is useless. Several times I've dealt with this gentleman and each time he's become less and less helpful. He's rude, lackluster in performance, and impatient. It's not just me he treats this way because I've watched him treat others just as poorly. The last time, (and I mean LAST time! I will gladly pay a few dollars more at the UPS store to receive better, more helpful service) he told me they didn't have anything large enough to fit a wrapped shirt box into; I went to UPS and they used a very large envelope. Stopped here on a weekend after we had received a moderate snow. It is a little post office in a small town and therefore not usually busy. Imagine my surprise when I pulled up and the parking lot was full! All 12 spots (except handicapped) were taken. I circled around with 2 other cars hoping for a space to open. Didn't happen. Drove to the side of the post office and almost parked in the back of the building but the sign said postal workers only. OK, last resort - I parked along the side of the road and had a longer walk than normal. When I got in, the lady behind the counter was pleasent and smiling (hence 2 stars vs 1). As I looked around, I only saw 2 other patrons. Huh? So I inquired: "Why are all 12 parking spots full when there are only 3 of us customers in here? She explained: "those spots are taken by the carriers - we had to keep the road clear so it could be plowed." Oh...silly me; I guess it is OK to inconvenience paying patrons rather than expect the employees to park further away?! read more

More than once, I haven't received a package - even one that's tracked - and the fault has always been with this place, our local post office. They usually can't locate it at all, or else our carrier never scanned at the final step, when it was supposedly delivered to us. The postmaster tries to be helpful, but he basically just ends up apologizing, every time. It's disappointing to count on the USPS priority mail "tracking", expect it to work, and then have it end in failure. read more

The incompetence of this post office never ceases to amaze me. There have been at least 4 times that a package has failed to be delivered to me bc the postal carrier forgot to leave it or was just too lazy to walk it to my door when it doesn't fit in my box. When I realize they are not left, and call the post office, they say that they do not back track and I will have to come up to the post office to get it. I have even left mail in my box to be picked up with flag up and the mail is left behind with my delivered mail put in on top of my outgoing letters. I will confess that many times when there are mistakes with deliveries, it's bc there are substitute carriers, but they should still be competent. If the carriers had to return back out to correct their failures in service, then maybe they would pay more attention to their job. read more

My transaction was completed today at 10:35. I've had excellent service by postal workers at other locations, but I will gladly drive out of my way if it mean avoiding another experience like the one I had here. Clerk #05/Steven was unprofessional, rude, and reeked of cigarette smoke. Instead of going through all the required questions about the package I was shipping...no harmful/hazardous chemicals? Perishable items? Restricted items? Insurance? Nothing was asked. He printed out the labels and placed them on the box. When I mentioned that I wanted insurance, he said under his breath "I wish I would have known that before." I'm sorry sir, but you DID NOT ASK. He cancelled out the transaction and finished the transaction. No bye. No thank you. Nothing again. Any job where you provide a service to a customers should get that service along with great customer service. Again, I'll go out of my way if it means avoiding another Steven experience. read more
