Sometimes they will accept documents on your phone and sometimes they won't. They need better communication skills and Training. Some of the workers communicate effectively, and some of them have attitudes when speaking to customers. If the rules are universal, shouldn't all the workers at every location be telling customers the exact same thing. I will give this location the benefit that someone was just having a bad day, but don't take it out on your customers. They are quick and efficient at this location.

I was told to try walk-ins, but when we got there (a half an hour before opening), we were told we have to get there HOURS early, around 5-6 am. We waited for the appt. (still practicing with the instructor), and when she took the test, the woman testing her failed her- the only feedback was that her "turns were too tight" (the officer told said they were fine) and that she was a few too many inches away from the curb parallel parking. That warranted a failure? She was told to come back the next day as a walk-in... we already know how that goes. Going to look for another location... don't care how far it is. As of late (Q1 2026), when you walk in, there's two seated sections- one for state IDs, permits, and driver licenses, and the other side for everything else. Each seated section operates from a deli-counter style number ticketing system. Walk-in, take a number, have a seat and wait for your number to be called. I found each side moves rather quickly even while the staff are answering phones. My experience also has included only positive and friendly interactions with the staff. Normally going to the DMV is not an enjoyable task on your list, but they treat everyone so pleasantly it's not that bad.

I spent approximately two and a half hours waiting in line. The office was so overcrowded that people were being sent outside to wait in approximately 95-degree heat. That is unacceptable, especially because many of the people waiting were elderly. When my number was finally called and I went to the counter, I was told they were going to take someone else before me, but that I would be next. No clear explanation was given for why someone else was being taken ahead of me, but I politely stepped aside and allowed them to help that person. After that person was finished, I should have been next because I had been specifically told I would be next. Instead, the woman behind the counter told me I would have to start the process over. The person she had just helped even spoke up and said I should be served next because he heard her tell me that she was taking someone before me but that I would be next. I calmly explained that I did not understand and asked her to explain what was happening. She would not give me a clear answer. At that point, I said, "You've defeated me," and walked away. Several people behind me immediately reacted and encouraged me not to let that happen. The customers in the office were clearly frustrated and outraged, which says a lot about how obvious the problem was to everyone there. I also tried calling the office, but the voicemail box was completely full, which suggests I am far from the only person having a bad experience here. This office represents everything people dread about going to the DMV: long waits, poor communication, overcrowding, inconsistent treatment, and no accountability. Whoever is responsible for managing this location should seriously review how customers are being treated and how this operation is being run.

Let's be honest, going to the license bureau is usually something I dread, but this visit was…read moresurprisingly quick and easy! I arrived at 12:30 p.m. and had four people ahead of me. You check in on an iPad when you arrive, and there were four employees working on plate renewals. At 12:41 p.m., my name was called, and I was at the window. By 12:45 p.m., I was already walking out the door! You can pay by check, credit card, and even Apple Pay, which is a nice convenience. The employee who helped me didn't say much while handling my transaction, but I did notice how pleasant and helpful she was with the people ahead of me. Some of them weren't sure whether they had all the necessary paperwork, and she patiently reassured them when everything was correct and explained what else they needed when something was missing. I appreciated seeing that! I also liked that there were seats available while waiting. Once you check in, you don't have to stand in a long line, which makes the whole process more comfortable. Everything seemed well organized, and the employees were moving people through efficiently. Overall, it was a quick in-and-out experience, and I got exactly what I needed to get done. Best of all, I don't have to come back for another two years! Now, that's my kind of license bureau visit.
