How can a tire shop be a little haven? And yet that's exactly what it is. Beautiful plants, a lovely waiting room, snacks, water - AND excellent service at a great price. read more

Avoid this place like the plague! Early Saturday I picked up a nail in my rear tire. Usually I plug these myself, but my wife suggested we let a tire shop take care of it so we came here. I drive a high end SUV with very rare and expensive alloy wheels. I explained this to the guy and he assured me it wouldn't be an issue. If I could go back in time I would've stayed in the back of the shop with the guy working on the tire. After they claimed the tire was fixed, I drove a few blocks and noticed that there was a slight wobble that wasn't there before. I should've driven right back to the shop but like an idiot I went home instead as I was extremely busy that day. A few hours later I noticed a dent/crack on the outside lip of the wheel. Furious, I knew this was the result of the tire shop not knowing how to work with these high end wheels. We called the shop and they of course denied any wrong doing. Today I was putting the wheels away for winter storage and I finally saw the back side of the rim and wanted to cry. See the pics below. This guy totally destroyed my wheel. These things cost several thousand dollars each! What should've been a 30 minute plug job in my driveway cost me dearly. Stay far away from this place!! read more

Easy to work with and quick service! When I had a flat tire recently, I gave them a call about two hours before closing. They were happy to have me stop in and take care of it. What I liked is they checked to see if it just needed a patch (or something) or a completely new tire. I liked that I didn't feel like I was getting ripped off since I was by myself. You also get to wait in a comfortable waiting area with free pop & water! read more

Great service, friendly and knowledgeable. They sell both new and used tires and install them. I was able to get right in!

Great service all around from the owner to the gentleman and young lady working in the garage. Went in to check tire pressure and decided to get my tires balanced while there. Ride feels great after. Prices are reasonable and I would recommend them for your tire needs. read more

I have done business with Roy in the last 10+ years, back to the days when he ran his shop over Hubbard street. He is competent and honest (read my earlier reviews). He does not mince words or try to sell you something you don't need. Being an independent tire shop owner, he does have to look out for his bottom line. However, if you treat him with respect, he would give you the best service in town. I recently ran into an issue that no other tire shops are willing to fix without costing me tons of money. After listening to my plead, Roy agreed to fix it without costing me arms and legs. I trust him and will always come back to him for my tire needs. read more

I am currently at the CASRSON TIRE SERVICE INC Shop on 1627 W Hubbard St in Chicago. It is 7:45am on December 28, 2017. I WILL NEVER SUPPORT ANY CARSON TIRE SERVICE INC anywhere again and Wil be asking everyone in my social media networks to do the same. They have an employee named ROY who is very ignorant, mean spirited and argued with me, merely because I asked how he was doing. From the moment I walked in, he looked like he had a disturbed look on his face. He went back and forth with me for 5 minutes. As polite as I tried to be, he said to me, you are not my brother, don't call me that, why are you concerned about how im feeling or how im doing and if I am having a bad day what can you do about it. This is more than about tire repair, this is about CUSTOMER SERVICE. I work hard for my money and refuse to be verbally abused where I spend it. To CARSON TIRE INC., are these the type of employees you hire? You should have training classes on customer service and sensitivity training classes as a requirement of orientation for all employees. PLEASE SHARE Yours Truly An UNSATISFIED Customer read more

Dominic from Superior Car and Truck (my mechanic) recommended I see Roy and his team at Carson for new tires. Dominic told me this months ago. In typical girly fashion, I procrastinated until one of my "needs-to-be-replaced-STAT" tires finally fell flat! So I went to see Roy at Carson Tire on my lunch. Not only is Roy friendly, outgoing and HILARIOUS, he gave me a fair price *AND* changed all four tires during my lunch break. It was a little over an hour -so that is some GOOD SERVICE. I really needed my car to and from work the next day, as well as appointments in the burbs over the weekend so I really couldn't leave it for a few days. I'm really grateful to have met Roy and his team and am happy to have found a tire place that is convenient to both my mechanic and where I work! Thank you, Roy and thanks to Dominic at Superior for the recommendation! read more

Great experience, was greeted upon arrival. I needed my tire patched due to a nail. Only $20 and 10 minutes. Works for me!

Called in a panic & they came fast & took great care of us. Our delivery truck had a flat & I called & spoke with Roy. Roy was a pleasure to deal with & Sam his service tech showed up even quicker than promised. Sam was a great guy & did a great job. Thank you! We highly recommend these guys! read more

Roy and his crew were friendly, kind, efficient--and got me on my way in record time. Plus there are chocolates in the waiting room! Is it wrong that I won't be sad when I have to come back?? read more

I'm new to the area and am shopping around for a good tire/auto shop for all our family cars. I just called, just moments ago, to ask some questions about their tire shop because I'm doing some comparisons and doing my due diligence before deciding on a shop for upcoming tire purchases. I politely asked if another time would be better and I could call back if he was with another customer. He said yeah call back later, I'm busy and just hung up. Didn't proved a time or preferred number to call back. So unprofessional and rude! You've immediately lost my business. read more

Dear Mr. Carson, I am sorry I cheated on you with All Day Tire Shop but it was a Sunday, your day of rest. Which you so rightfully deserve. You have always been there for me, fixing up my flats, fastening my lug nuts, even when the crazy people loosened them and almost caused an accident. You sent your magical truck to my home, lest anyone get hurt. With a smile and a bucket of water and that machine that tightens everything just so.... You always talk me out of spending recklessly on a new tire when you are able to miraculously fix the ones I have for about a tenth of the price. Your staff (is he your son by chance?) is always as super courteous as you are and always forthright and honest when it comes to a repair. You've aligned my wheels when I went a little crooked, you've changed my spare when I was in a fancy work outfit. You even bought me a diet Pepsi from your machine when I had no money on me. Mr. Carson, you are the Patron Saint of blown tires, bent rims, punctures and just plain urban damsels. And I worship at your altar. read more

Visited Carson Tire Service to get a flat tire inspected and replaced. Unfortunately upon review my tire wasn't salvageable and I had to purchase a new tire. Throughout the experience, I never felt like Mr. Carson was trying to rip me off as he and his staff was advising me. You know that feeling, don't you? As you drive you car into a mechanic/tire/auto service without any history and just wondering if they're going to advantage of you? My tire wasn't available same day and thus had to be ordered but in the meantime Mr. Carson put in a full sized used tire for me to drive home with. When the tire was available the next day the tire was installed quickly and tires were balanced. Great customer service and efficient. I will return to Carson Tire Service next time I have a tire need. read more

I love this place! I've come here twice without an appointment and have been in and out with in 30 minutes. Charged $20 dollars to fix a flat tire. Roy Carson is a great guy, running a sweet tire service. Thank you so much! read more

I do not understand how these guys get anything less than five stars! I had a puncture causing a slow leak. I called and they said to bring my car in anytime. I came right away and was promptly guided into the garage. The entire process took less than 15 minutes and I was on my way. I was a little worried when it was time to settle up because I didn't ask about the cost beforehand. I was pleasantly surprised when I found out my bill was less than $20!!! Bottom line: they fixed my tire, fixed it fast and it was affordable. They have definitely earned my business. read more

Tire was flat. Worked on the tire immediately on the spot. Quick and efficient. Great value. Highly recommended.

Brought vehicle here needing a tire because of a nail. They "only" had new tires. New overpriced tires. I was given a total then Roy tacked on a credit card fee without telling me there was one. I explained to him that he gave me cost on everything else but forgot that. Really...He was very nice to every customer behind me. Treated me like I didn't exist (and this was during the initial stages of the conversation to talk about the work. The gentleman who actually did the work was wonderful. Don't trust Roy read more

U Pick A Tire - Tires Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

Recently I was around this area and got an almost flat tire. Came there, they inspected the tire, found a hole and promised that they would install a used tire if I get back to them. I got back, they said that unfortunately they don't have used tires and I should buy a full priced one. I ended up paying $120 for a $50 (Amazon) tire with the replacement. Really thing that this is not the best way if treating your customers... read more

I was unable to get the last lug off my daughter's car in changing a flat tire. I thought I had strip the lug and was unable to remove the lug. The serviceman at carson's related that it wasn't easy to remove a striped lug and he charged me 25.00 dollars. When he finished, I asked if he had putted the strip lug back on the wheel?? He said it wasn't striped, it just wasn't any good and needed to be changed.?? I asked if he had any lugs,he said no. He said if I got the lugs he would charge me 10 dollar's to put them on the wheel. The only reason the serviceman was able to remove the lug was he had power tools. Which average citizen's don't drive around with in their vehicle. The serviceman never offered the info about lugs. I would NEVER go into this shop again. read more

Excellent shop! So helpful. Had a flat which was repaired within twenty minutes of calling. I suggested buying a new tire (which would have been a lot more $) and they said they could easily fix it instead. Cost $27 and has been working perfectly! All super helpful and informative. Will definitely continue to go here for all car needs! read more

Got a flat tire on the highway then got towed to Carson's. I was prepared to pay for a new tire but only had to pay $25 because they were able to repair my tire (ran over a nail). Took about 2 hours. Great service and it feels great knowing they are not ripping me off when I'm clueless with cars! read more

I came here on a weekday to get one of my tires patched that had a nail and was leaking air. I was able to get it done without much of a wait. The service was a bit disorganized with them asking me to pull my car into the shop but then telling me to put it back outside, offering me to sit in the office while I waited but not realizing door to office was locked, etc. But other than that staff was helpful and nice. They took care of the problem right away. Price is pretty standard for this area. You can find better prices at large auto centers such as Walmart and Costco however this place worked best for me at the time. read more

My company had me bring one of their vehicles in to patch or replace a tire that had a bolt in it. It was to be charged to my company's account they had with this business. The employee said the paper wasn't worth their time for the value of the job, and to come back with a credit card. So I went and got the company card, and we've taken our business elsewhere. read more

I went at 7:15 on a Thursday morning and was able to get in right away. My tire kept losing air and they were able to get it fixed in about 15 minutes. Mechanic was very nice. And only $20 for the fix. Front desk guy was a little gruff / abrupt, but not rude. I'd go back. read more

Based on location & highly rated reviews, I recommended Carson to my daughter (22yrs old at the time) in March when she had a flat tire that was changed to her spare tire. Carson replaced the spare w/ a brand new tire we purchased from them. At the time my daughter said they were so rude and mean. This weekend she had another flat tire & roadside assistance came to change tire but unfortunately they found no spare in her trunk. So Carson has not replaced her spare in March. I called Monday morning to explain this and was immediately hit w/ accusations of dishonesty and being a liar. Was told my daughter probably did something, maybe sold the spare tire. WHAT?! After continually being berated, I then told him I would be contacting Yelp, other social media, and BBB to report treatment and I would be giving negative reviews. Immediate change of attitude. Joe then explained pressure, bad experiences, divorce, needing to keep this little job, and would have service truck go and repair or replace tire. Called me back shortly after and said a spare tire had been found after previously telling me no spare was in his shop and invited me to come and look as I would find no spare. That spare would be brought along while repairing my daughter's tire. Truly, almost funny, that the spare brought was for a Honda....but my daughter's car is a Ford. Another call to me and Joe explained he had made a mistake and he "probably should have stayed home today". I have never experienced such nasty, angry treatment. I feel horrible as a Mom for having recommended Carson Tire to my daughter! read more

The people working here were absolute lifesavers after we got a flat tire while driving out of town on freaking Christmas Eve. The car was towed there and a new tire was put on in less than thirty minutes, for... $35 I think? The staff could not have been nicer. Really turned what could have been a miserable situation into a mere bump in the road. read more

Poor service, the person working today seemed to have an attitude and was unpleasant. I don't expect people to be smiley and chipper, but definitely made me feel like I was bothering him with my business. I went to Carson Tire Service today with a major flat on my VW Beetle what I thought was going to be an expensive and time consuming project was quick, professional, and reasonably priced. I totally recommend these guys! read more

I had a leaky tire and unfortunately got there with only 10 minutes until closing. Not a problem... they took care of me right away, and I was out of there in less than 15 minutes for $15. My tires are a bit larger/heavier than most personal cars, yet they still charged me the personal car rate. Unlike the other popular tire shop nearby, these guys take credit cards, provide receipts, and actually have a shop... so they don't block a lane of traffic "All Day" on Wolcott and Division. read more

Quality work, modestly-priced! 500+ weekly highway miles on my 2006 330xi means I have a lot of time to notice vibration and suspension issues. I don't know what it is about other shops, but it's like they don't believe me when I say my tires are out of balance, and when they attempt to rebalance them, the problem persists, and they say my wheels are bent. Carson's has a Hunter RoadForce balancing machine that routinely performs miracles as far as eliminating tire-induced vibrations. The machine has also proved that my wheels indeed were not bent, unlike the diagnoses from two other shops. I switch between two entirely wheel/tire setups in the summer and winter, and both sets take a beating on Chicago streets. I wish I found this shop a few years ago! read more

Price as quoted for slow leak. $20. Didn't try to convince me I needed new tire. I'd give 5 but I've only been there once.

I went in for a simple fix. After being ignored for about 15 minutes with Roy, the owner, walking by many times not even looking at me, I was finally addressed ....with a look of disgust. I told him what i needed and he threw up his arms like i was asking him to run a marathon for me and said he'll do his best. I left the tire there even though he wouldn't give me an estimated time of completion. I called back in an hour to check on the progress and was hung up on.I picked up the tire because he wouldn't fix it. This guy has major problems with customer service. He has a very large chip on his shoulder so if you want attitude and to be made to feel like you are a burden then by all means go to Carson Tire Service. If not I recommend All Day Tire on Division....waaaay better. read more

These guys sold me a tire they described as "new" in March, to replace my flat. When I took my car to a reputable garage for a once-over before I moved cross-country, they informed me there was a bubble in the tire. And sure enough, 3 months later the tire is flat and I have to pay for a new one. I'll be going to a business with integrity and standards this time. read more
