We originally looked at other well known options. We have moved using other well-known truck rental places (names start with U and P) but because it was winter and our move was from Colorado to Washington in winter I was quite apprehensive about driving a 20ft truck through the mountain passes of Colorado, Utah, Wyoming Idaho and Washington. Especially towing our car. So we decided to check out U-Pack. Probably one of the best decision I've ever made. They brought us a 28ft trailer and even though we only reserved 17ft, they told us to feel free to use more if needed (at an additional nominal cost per foot). They placed it in front of our house with the ramp down and ready for us to load it. We had it loaded within a day or two and I called them and they came next business day and picked it up. Approximately 10 days later the trailer was delivered to the front door of our new home. Because we packed it we knew that it was secure and barring any unforeseen accidents we figured that it would get to our house pretty unscathed. And that's exactly what happened. Not one thing was broken. It also ends up that the weather was horrid and it took us multiple days of stopping and waiting for roads to clear before we could get to our destination. I don't know what I would've done if I had been driving that big truck pulling our car. If you're moving I'm telling you this is the way to go. This company has it together completely. The other thing I forgot to mention is that we didn't have to pay for the gas for the big truck to drive over 1000 miles through mountains like with other truck rentals. Even better was the cost for U-Pack trailer was about $1000 less than the rental of the trucks from the big companies. I highly recommend U-Pack for your next move. read more

Their customer service is abysmal. I called before they dropped off to asked a couple of questions. The lady of the phone was rude and gave me incorrect information. They were late dropping my stuff off and when I called to get an ETA they were once again just as rude. The customer service rep refused to give me direct answers to my questions told me she would call me right back, she didn't. When I called back the other rep started talking very slowly and condescendingly without giving me an answer to my questions and hung up on me when I told her I understood but I needed a real answers. read more

Using UPack made our move way more manageable. We were moving across country and my wife was already at our new location. Using UPack seemed like a better option. Their communication was excellent with us. We decided to use the semi trailer option instead of the pods. With the flexibility to add more space if needed (and we did), it really worked out great. I was worried that our neighbors would complain about having the trailer parked in front of the house, but there were no problems in either neighborhood. This was a wonderful, and much more affordable way to do our cross-country move. We have made 2 trans-Pac moves previously using 40' shipping containers, so we were familiar with the process. U-Pack was wonderful about accommodating some minor changes in our schedule. They dropped the trailers right on schedule and picked them up promptly once they were loaded. Everything went equally as smoothly at our destination. If you are up to the task of packing and loading correctly, this is a great option for a big move! This was the best experience ever. After agonizing on how we were going to make a move from Longmont to New York, we decided to go with U-Pack. We scheduled several U-Hauls, scheduled a moving company and all fill through. U-Pack was a great option for us. The scheduling was easy, customer service was fabulous and all drivers and dispatchers we talked with were very helpful. The move was very seamless. I have zero regrets using upack. Every driver, phone person, etc were all very courteous, helpful and professional. The truck delivery, pick up and delivery at the new house were all on time. No issues at all. Price wise, they were cheaper than uhaul especially with fuel prices as high as they are and more importantly we didn't have to drive the big uhaul. I was shocked when I found their pricing was LESS than a smaller U-haul truck with a car carrier. The gentleman who delivered it was super nice, and once we got it loaded we called and they came and picked it up. It was such a relief to have it driven out here for me. Once I got my place, I called and they delivered it right to my door. The door latch was hard for me to get lined up and they even came out and closed it for me! Then again, once it was unloaded, they promptly came and picked it up! If I ever have to move again, I will most DEFINITELY use them again. THANKS SO MUCH!!! read more

Not impressed with u-pack. Fairly expensive for $1400 transporting one small cube from san diego to loveland in comparison to the space and what you pay for on a Pod. They also take advantage of the influx of people leaving CA as I did a quote from CO to CA at was $400 less. Initial drop off of the container was late, which I had to call and get an update on. Frustrating when I had to ask a favor of someone to wait around to sign for it. Pick up of the pod was fine, as you dont have to be present. I scheduled the day i wanted it dropped off. I needed to schedule it on a Friday as it was the only day that would work well for offloading the container on my days off. I scheduled for friday afternoon and was told drop off would be between 12 and 5pm. I had to ask a family member to wait at my house because they require someone to sign for delivery. 520pm rolls around and I have not received a call for confirmation. I call and ask what the status of the delivery is and I am told that the delivery was not scheduled. Now I have to ask a family member to take time out of there day again to sign for it and I dont even get it delivered on the day I wanted and needed it for. Not impressed with this company, especially for the price I paid. read more

Great option. we recently moved from Colorado to Las Vegas,, the truck was dropped off on time .. we had 3 days to load.. Thank you to great friends for all the help. A year ago, I was in a very bad situation at home. I needed to get out of there, and quickly. Looking at options to move from Colorado to my parents house in California, a moving truck, a towing rig for my car, and gas would have been over $2,000, and I wasn't comfortable driving that through the Rocky Mountains by myself during winter. I called up U-Pack in Loveland and they worked with me to get a cube the very next day and got me as many discounts as possible. This allowed me to pack up the cube with stuff I didn't need for the trip, drive my own car for the move, and save A LOT of money and trouble in the process. I have no complaints about my recent U-Pack experience. My Relocube arrived within the predicted time window. There was no major damage to anything packed in the cube and any issues (scratches, crushed boxes, etc.) were a result of my own laziness in packing up the cube. Furthermore, the U-Pack staff in charge of answering the phones at Loveland were very professional, communicative, and responsive. Finally, the driver who delivered my pod was great; he placed the pod exactly where I wanted it and also considered which way I wanted the doors to face even if it held up traffic some. I would use the service again if I make another long distance move. read more
