Proceed with Caution - Costly Damage and Poor Handling I'd recommend proceeding with caution if you're considering Caddy Movers. To start, the two movers were kind and polite - I want to give them credit for that. My reservation was for 12 PM, and I was told they'd arrive between 12-1, but I didn't receive a clear heads-up on timing and they showed up at 11:58 AM. They began billing as soon as they arrived, and since I don't live on-site and was running behind picking up the truck, I ended up being billed for that time. I understand part of that is on me for running late, but clearer communication would have helped. Unfortunately, the actual move is where things went downhill. Furniture was dropped, pushed through doorways, and not handled with much care. I have a white couch that I've kept in great condition, and they laid it on its side and dragged it across the floor of the storage unit and truck. By the end, it was covered in black dust. At the time, I was trying to be understanding and didn't say much - especially since the manager asked for feedback over the phone while I was standing right next to the movers. After everything was done, I discovered damage to multiple door frames in my home. That was the tipping point for me. I now have to pay for repairs and likely professional cleaning for the couch. I wasn't planning to leave a review, but given the extent of the damage, I felt it was important to share. read more

they stood me up 3 times. I made arrangements to give an estimate they want get in the vehicle to come to mouse for a quote they lied 3 times and had no intention of coming to house. don't waste your time Dean and Cory are habitual liars. don't use moving caddies. I'd score them lower if I could read more

My Stickley table leaves were ruined. Scratched through the finish. Two bins of breakables were crushed and contents shattered. The staircase in my new house was scratched. They were fast, but at a cost. read more

A horrendous job packing valuables and family photos and heirloom's ....broken glass everywhere.... Everything was thrown into boxes, heavy books on top and glassware, crystal on the bottom of the boxes. It's as if they had no training to pack valuables..... Mattresses were not were not covered ,bedding rolled up and thrown onto the truck ,large paintings were just thrown into boxes with other heavy items. Don't have high hopes for your silverware and carving knives either because it's just thrown into a box with everything else from the kitchen. It's a complete gamble to see if your stuff has arrived safely.... They did a complete walk-through of my home and was assured everything was going to be packed properly.... read more

I had a small in-town move to make, and these guys went out of their way to work me into their schedule on the same day! The Move Caddies, specifically Dean, Cory, and their crew, did an excellent job of getting all of our belongings from Fort Collins, Colorado across the country to southern Illinois. They were pleasant, punctual, and efficient. It took no more than 3 or 4 hours to get everything into the truck and even less time coming out of it. They provided us with extra boxes (those nifty garment hanging ones), and accommodated our special requests. For example, we needed half the load moved out at our new house, the other half at our daughter's new place. Everything arrived intact. I can't even begin to describe how awesome this moving experience was. The Move Caddies went above and beyond and it was so helpful to know that I didn't need to worry about this piece of the puzzle in the middle of a very stressful move. From the initial scheduling with Dean, to getting an estimate, talking through the details to execution, it was seamless. I will choose this company over and over again for my moving needs. The four guys that helped us move were AMAZING! (Bobby, Carson, Garrett and Josh...the Dream Team). The guys took their time to communicate, walk through scope of work, and were completely reassuring the entire time. So respectful with an honest pride in ownership of the company they work for. They took care with my belongings, wrapped everything securely, and they were extremely efficient and quick with loading the truck. They interacted with my kids and family in a fun way and kept me updated on every step. What a skilled team! My husband and I recently moved to another city and used The Move Caddies. They sent us 3 movers instead of 2 and brought a 26 foot truck. We had only one living room set, one bedroom set, a small office, and household and garage items to move. We took them through every room and showed them under the steps also, and the garage items we wanted moved. They worked hard, and were very polite. I treated them with utmost respect the entire time, offering them waters, snacks, etc. But as they neared completion, I pointed out they had forgotten the boxes under the steps. They fit those items in while we cleaned inside. Once we returned to the garage, we noted they had closed the truck, ready to leave. However, there were still items in the garage they had not loaded. They apologized, and reopened the truck overhead door, but said they couldn't get everything in. Seeing the truck was only 2/3 full (they hadn't loaded to the ceiling) we were frustrated, and they left with a small load left in our garage. I called the owner, Dean, a few days later as we'd had to leave town right after the crew had made the delivery. I explained the situation clearly and specifically noted the crew had forgotten to load all the items we had pointed out. We didn't feel the burden should be on us to drive 90 minutes to pick up the last items, and asked if he could have a small truck pick up the remaining items and deliver (at their convenience). He said, "For free?" I said, "No, we've already paid for the job but it wasn't completed." He said he's never had this request before and he didn't appear interested in considering the request. He said he was a part owner of the company, so I suggested that he might care about his reviews and want to make the situation right. He surprised me when he said, "We get a lot of bad reviews." I said, "You do?" He said, "Yes, we do a lot of business." implying with that much volume comes bad reviews also. Regardless, I suggested he'd want to make this right and and I asked him to give it some thought and call me back the next day. He left me a voice mail two days later, saying it "was an easy decision." He said it was apparent I was "trying to take advantage" of the company. I was flabbergasted. He also said they gave us three men instead of two men (which we did not ask for). , We paid for two men which was appropriate for the size of the job. The truck had AMPLE space left to accommodate the items that were left, but given the men had already packed loosely and could not fit the rest in. The pile left could have easily fit into a small pick-up truck. Dean implied that giving us 3 men vs 2 negated the need to come back to get the remaining items. As if we already had been given a favor. Therefore, he put the burden back on us. I was insulted by his unprofessionalism, failing to consider the logic in our request, and actually telling us we were "trying to take advantage" of them. We have never had a moving company owner treat us like this. In fact a few years ago, one owner we'd previously used actually used his own truck to deliver a few items that the movers did not fit in their truck. He was professional, very pleasant and reasonable and was happy to finish what his movers did not. And that instance was a larger than this job. I was happy to leave a good review. So, while the Move Caddies movers worked hard, I could not recommend them again due to the outcome and the owner's attitude, knowing the issue was the fault of the movers' foregetfulness. My son was moving from one apartment to another, and it it all had to be done in one day because he was leaving out of town for a week. He just needed muscle because it was on a work day, so we decided to hire him some help. When looking through reviews of MANY moving companies, I was surprised to see how many reviews included "movers didn't show", "movers were late", "movers broke or some of my things", etc. With The Move Caddies, they were none of these things. They showed up, they showed up on time, and they were VERY careful with my son's belongings. They took time to wrap things, when my son said they didn't have to, and they totally knew what they were doing. They worked REALLY hard, as they were moving very heavy furniture down three flights of stairs and up two flights of stairs. They were able to get everything done in 5 hours, and my son was able to get on the road within the timeframe he had hoped for. The only thing I can say is if you are moving and you need help, call the Move Caddies and talk with Corey (the owner), and he will set you up. The guys he sent were excellent, and he was great to work with. I am very appreciative of everything they did to make my son's move less stressful and very productive. read more
