I couldn't recommend Billy Goat highly enough. We had previously used them for in-town moves and were very pleased. In July we used them for a move further away. They loaded up quickly and professionally. Unfortunately when they arrived, the elevator to the 5th floor was out of service. These amazing guys hauled a whole truck load up 5 flight of stairs in ridiculous heat. Not a single complaint (their ride home may have had some spicy talk...lol), they were nothing but kind and competent, everything arrived in great condition. They did such a good job, taking care with all my possessions (including mirrors and artwork) so I tipped them well on top of that. If you have priced moving companies you know it's a RIP-off. I really, really wanted to like them and give a great review. We were really happy with them... until we started unpacking. We paid thousands of dollars for packing, moving to storage and the moving out of storage into our new house. They seemed to do a good job, and we tipped really well, but this all faded when we started to unpack. For the packing portion- It took us several days to find our tv cords (they were removed from the TVs instead of left with them). One was found in a box with bathroom stuff and one was found in our tool chest. I don't even know how this happens. Also, I had taped all the screws and nuts for our guest bedroom bed inside the dresser. They are now gone and we still have not found in any boxes. Many of the boxes they packaged were only partially labeled (I.e. a kitchen box also had stuff from the office and many more). Moving portion- We have a lot of heavy stuff, so we expected a couple marks, but there are some pretty big scuffs (lots of paint touch ups) - more than anticipated. The worst part though was that about a 40% of the boxes were placed in the wrong area. We found bedroom, kitchen, garage and office things in the basement, bedroom stuff in the office and office and bedroom stuff left in the garage. We've spent a lot of time moving boxes where they are supposed to be, also frustrating since we now have 3 floors and a toddler. Lastly, we also got a very angry call from our storage facility about the condition our units were left. There were multiple boxes strewn across the units and trash from meals left behind that we had to go pick up. All in all, the guys seemed nice enough and the pricing seemed ok (especially since they move gun safes), but there a seems to be a lack of attention to detail. read more

Billy Goat Movers were contacted by my elderly parents for help moving their belongings across the mountains in Colorado while I 70 was closed. The people at Billy goat stayed in touch, were patient and kind during high tension times within the family and too, regarding the pending sale/ purchase of my folks home. They were efficient and just on their job the whole move. From the packers the first day to the loaders who moved the load and unpacked the next day, to the boss man. Five star experience moving with these guys, from Denver back to Fort Collins. They moved me out of a garage and into a house without damaging a single antique or wall, and were great to work with. The quoted price was right (and it was what was charged), and work was great. The only thing not moved was my box 'o' chemicals, for health and safety reasons, and at the far end all the boxes were in the right rooms. They even put my platform bed together. I have used this company multiple times and they are top notch. Their employees are polite and accomodating of almost all requests. The first thing they do is pad your banisters and floors so as not to cause damage. They are methodical loading the POD, reading all boxes for instructions like "FRAGILE" or 'TOP LOAD". They carefully wrapped furniture in blankets for me then wrapped in saran type plastic. They are always a pleasure to work with. Great guys, great move. We moved from foco to castle rock and nothing was broken, guys were extremely courteous and friendly. They were true to their quote and they were very quick and efficient too. Their packing skills in the trucks were great-not one broken item and really fit a lot in. On a side note, we moved to castle rock for only about 2 months and then to centennial; we used another company for the castle rock to centennial move since billy goat is up in foco, and the difference was night and day. Billy goat was far better and I wouldn't hesitate to use them in the future. read more

I'm all for supporting local companies and I've seen many good reviews of these guys, which is one of the reasons I chose them, but I can't say that I had the best experience. The guys are hard workers and friendly, however, I had some disappointing things occur during my move. First, the move ended up costing me twice what the estimate was. Jack came to my home prior to my move to give me an estimate, and although I had the same belongings that Jack provided the estimate for, on the day of the move I was told they needed to add on a fourth guy for the move (at an additional cost) and another truck. At the end of it all my bill was double what the estimate was. Frankly, I think if you have a big move (3+ bedroom house) you may want to go with a larger company. Second, in advance I told the guys that I had just painted the walls and had the wood floors refinished at my new home. As the guys moved a piece of furniture up the stairs, the plaster wall was damaged and the walls were left filthy with dirty hand prints from the guys going up and down the stairs. Third, my fairly new couch was slid across the floor on the cushion in an attempt to avoid scratching the floor/walls, but it left my cushion soiled and screwed up the nap on the microsuede. Lastly, as I have been unpacking and throwing away boxes I am finding more and more places where the guys scratched the wood floors with the dollys they were using. I have found numerous 1 + foot long scratches and gouges in the wood where they dropped a load of boxes and slid the dolly out leaving a deep long scratch in the wood underneath. After spending $1400 to refinish my floors and then to have them damaged by the movers, in addition to double the cost of my estimate for the move I can't say I am completely happy. I will say the owner worked with me on the cost to have my sofa cleaned and the wall fixed, but not anything for the floors. So all in all, not the best experience for me. read more

The guys were cordial and timely. Cool, having friendly staff is important. However the job was not completed. A ton of things were left at the house, nearly an entire garage-full. And so afterwards, the unfinished job required several trips back and forth and a ton of lifting for not-so-young, not-so-able-bodied movers. During the moving job, the guys had adequately maximized the space, floor to ceiling of the first 2/3's in the truck. But as things slowed down, the rear third of the truck was partially filled with a bunch of items that were chaotically strewn about, which piled about two feet off the ground. This left about six feet of open, empty space in the last third or so of the truck's storage space. When asked why they were stopping, they said that they had run out of moving pads. Not enough moving pads. I'm no moving expert, but I have moved several times. And it has always seemed that maximizing the space of a moving truck is the whole point. Otherwise you're burning a lot of time and money. And unfortunately that's what this whole experience with Billy Goat Movers felt like. read more

This is an update to my review. The whole truck's contents arrived in our Budget truck exactly as they packed it in by the young men from Billy Goat moving. Nothing shifted in motion or during crazy driver hard braking. 3 long 14 hr days of driving and NOTHING moved at all. Everything was in the same good shape it was in when it was in the apartment. These guys are rock stars of moving! They scheduled the move with me. Called me to let me know they were going to be a little late. No problem for me as long as I know what is going on...right. They then moved a #750 gun safe, deck mower and all my other stuff...beds, treadmill, desks, boxes and boxes of stuff. Their estimate was very close and got it done in a few hours. Recently I used this company to help me load and move me They weren't there for more than 10 minutes before they broke a $1300.00 dollar dresser I tried to get them to pay for half of a new one and they said no way we are only obligated to fix it When they broke it they just scooped it up and took it So a little more than a month later I got my dresser back and the repairs are only average Low spots where they sanded out scratches the clear finish is rough not smooth and the back of the dresser has holes in the board on back due to the staples pulling thru when it fell over I'm not going to go thru anymore brain damage with them but it is obvious to me they never cared about making an almost new piece of furniture look new again Also the manager has a bad attitude and I had to call them not them call me to get my dresser back read more

I wouldn't suggest this company to anyone. We paid them a little over $2k for a poor job that we are continuing to find mistakes. The list of why I would never work with them is long, but here are the major points: 1 - ripped our $5k couch. Said they had to take the piece they ripped (it's a PB sectional). When I called to inquire the manager was unsure why they took it & said they would bring back to repair later. When they returned it, the under part of the couch was completely ripped (different rip from the rip on the front suede part of original rip during move). There was also a greasy hand print across the top. 2 - they hit the walls on several occasions. They pointed out 1 hole because I was there when they made it. I found others after they left. 3 - they dropped a box that had fragile stickers all over it. They had it placed on a dolly carelessly over several other boxes. Shockingly, it dropped off the top when they wheeled it in & rolled. I opened it to find 2 of my large bowls were shattered. They gave me $50 off a bill for a sloppy job. I have given them a week to make things correct. Nothing has happened. I am hoping a review will grab their attention. read more

In order to prep my house for sale, I was told to remove 90% of our stuff. After spending a week of packing up 10 bookshelves worth of books and other junk, it was a relief to have Kyle and Jason pick it up and move it to a storage unit. They were very careful with everything including the 64 inch TV and glass stand. In addition, they are awesome packers and made much better use of the storage unit than I would have. They were highly recommended by my nephew who used them a week ago with to other guys who also did a great job. I will definitely use them again. read more

Had to move on short notice. Called Billy Goat and spoke to Jack on Monday and scheduled for Wednesday. He estimated the cost over the phone, and his estimate turned out to be spot on. The day of the move, a freak spring blizzard blew in, and a move was impossible. After explaining that we had to vacate our apartment by Friday, they agreed to move us the next day. Dave, Chris, and Kyle moved us. Since we were paying by the hour it was great to see how they hustled. They also took great care with our belongings. On arrival at the new place, they shoveled snow to unload and laid protective pads on the hardwood floors to keep from tracking in snow and slush. On top of everything else, these three were really nice guys. I cannot overstate how good this move was. Billy Goat gets my highest recommendation. read more

Horrible experience with guys. They have no idea what they are doing. They packed a tool box no straps and it ended up on top of my 52" TV which is ruined. They packed my bedroom furniture on a wood floor with no padding ruining this as well. No thought process of where to pack valuable furniture and tools. I asked them to call me to verify what was packed in my pods which they ignored. I asked for a money return and they replied with bad customer service and smartass replies! Bad service and horrible packing. Do not use these guys! read more
