They were an hour and a half late to start. They jacked around instead of getting to work. They didnt wrap things that should have been wrapped and didn't pack the containers well. My wife and daughter were asked for help to make things faster for the MEN that were paid to move our stuff. A waste of time and money. We used Two College Movers when we first moved to Fort Collins six years ago, so when it was time to move again, they were my first call. At the start, everything was great, accommodating, helpful, and responsive. On moving day, they showed up on time and were very polite. Unfortunately, the move itself was a mess. I had four movers, but at times three of them were just standing around trying to figure out how to pack the truck. I had them disassemble and box my TVs and take apart two beds. They lost the hardware for one of my TV legs, and both beds they disassembled ended up broken. My child even stepped on a screw they left behind, and two weeks later one of the beds completely gave out. Now my king bed is wobbly, and both frames were only two years old and in great condition. They also lost hardware for shelves in my entertainment center and knocked a door handle off in my new home. I asked for a very reasonable resolution, replacement hardware and a one hour discount for the time I had to spend fixing everything they mishandled. They easily spent that much time, if not more, disassembling and reassembling items incorrectly. The owner or manager, Kia, repeatedly refused and said the situation was fair. It is hard to understand how paying for a service that results in damage and missing parts is considered fair. She directed me to their claims provider, where I registered and submitted a claim, but I have not heard anything back. I was essentially told to handle it myself. I came back because of the good experience I had before, but I will not be using them again. I rarely write reviews, but I wanted to warn others in Fort Collins. Truly disappointed. read more

I'm in Fort Collins, Colorado, where this incident occurred, over several weeks in April and May, 2022 with credit card company involvement for several succeeding months. It has taken me this long to get the emotional comfort level needed to write this review. After contact from the company upon its reading my review, which I appreciate, I've posted minor - not major - corrections, trying to adhere only to demonstrable facts. I stand by what I've written about the overall experience. If you're a college student moving your three pieces of furniture, like one reviewer, perhaps they're for you. If you're a serious person with a large move, valuable property and you choose this company, the underestimate, overcharge, property damage and personal upset I experienced may result. I have photos and documents to support everything I write. It's taken me nearly three years to somewhat overcome the trauma of dealing with my experience with this company, the single worse business experience in my life. I've moved 27 times, eight times internationally. I chose to write this after retrieving my electronic tooth flosser (separated from its base somewhere) from the inside of my shoe at the bottom of my overpacked wrinkled clothes hanging box. That is a minor example. Based on my experience as I tepidly approach and go through each box, I can only suggest this company change its motto to: "Throw stuff (recall the verbal guidelines) in a box." That's just what they largely did, extreme cost aside. Briefly: They were used once in 2015 and were fine. When I had to move in 2022, pandemic time, I called them based on my previous favorable experience. They came and did an estimate: Three men, two trucks, 2 days, $155 hourly, all boxes and supplies at cost. What resulted was several non-consecutive days; several changing, sometimes inexperienced movers (Example: Pack vinyl records and dishes flat? Unload CDs from a rack into a box rather than shrink wrap? I could go on, but you get the idea); personal telephone time and some lunch overtime; waiting for supplies not brought while time added; my having to supply perhaps half the needed boxes; insufficient truck availability; me actually helping unload the final truck at one point; breakage and likely cleaning bills still remaining. The company initially agreed to repair some damage I observed occurring and for which they admitted responsibility, then fell silent when disputes arose. The final charge was $9,263.45 for a 4.6-mile, in-town move. If you choose to use them, use an American Express card. You will have to sign at day's end to indicate satisfaction. Don't sign upon each day's completion if a poor experience occurs. Object to Amex and they will support you as long as you have not signed your satisfaction at day's end; I foolishly signed on days I should not have signed, so Amex would not credit me in those instances. Visa and MasterCard will not support you in a dispute. I managed to retrieve $996 following the company's countering my every one of several claims, but it was some minor satisfaction. The amount I was credited by Amex was even subsequently submitted for collection by the company, but that was resolved in my favor and the collection request removed when I provided the written evidence from Amex, making the final cost $8,267.45. I became so distraught at the mounting cost, I chose to rent a U-Haul locally for two days at additional expense to complete the move. I could add more, but that would only result in my needing psychotherapy after this completely miserable experience. That may sound like a joke; it is not. It remains so upsetting, I have avoided confronting and reliving the experience until now. Again, I have photos and documents to support what I just wrote. Regarding the single attached photo: It is a rare set of recordings costing $100. It's just a sentimental example. I could post many more photos to illustrate my contentions. Choice of credit card (American Express) aside, I would also advise the reader to work with a mover willing to provide a written estimate that can be exceeded (it never costs less) only by an agreed-upon percentage, not to pay "by the hour/day." A guaranteed total cost estimate would be highly desirable if you can obtain it in writing. Also consider actual replacement cost insurance, not the inadequate "per pound" amount. I foolishly agreed to the latter based on my previous favorable experience with this mover. For what it is worth, I regret having to write this since it only compels me to revisit a truly upsetting, still haunting, experience. I genuinely hope you take adequate precautions so it does not happen to you. read more

2023 REVIEW: Took their time milking the clock, 10 minutes between trips from the truck, 4 hours to build a bed that takes 1 hour based on previous moves. The guys took a 45 minute lunch break in the clock. Sad to be taken advantage of, they promised to subtract 45 minutes off the total time. Damaged furniture and no care for your belongings. Not the previous experience I'm familiar with. Small damage is expected but what we packed is damage free, the crew ran out of shrink wrap and made do with rubber bands, the guys didn't remove legs on the couch, or recognize top or bottom of items. I'm sad the quality has dropped off and I've paid almost $500 more than quoted or previous move with the same items. 2020 REVIEW: Brandon J, Chris W, & Jaxen R were super fast, respectful, efficient, & professional. Aaron and Anthony were on time and moved two chairs from the front porch of a house and a very heavy futon from the basement to the truck. They delivered to an apartment and contacted me when they arrive to make sure they could get into the apartment building. The only reason I didn't give five stars is because the bill came to $298 to move two chairs (from the front porch) and one futon delivered 3.8 miles away. That seems very pricey but they did do this with only 3 days notice. The guys were polite and got the job done. read more

When I gave inventory for my items, things we'd left out and I was later charged for the "extra items". Allen chose literally the smallest truck they have to move a 2 bedroom inventory with big furniture. So that caused the loading crew to make two trips instead of one so I was charged more because of the extra time spend. He said he'd give me a discount for the inconvenience but once the job was done he didn't. So what should've been about a $500-$600 move I ended up paying over $1000 instead all because they chose the smallest truck instead of actually accommodating my items. Then after, I spend hours rearranging my storage because things were not stacked properly. When I voiced all my frustration they treated me like I was annoying them and they couldn't be bothered. The hourly fee of $155 was doubled due to a dispatch fee which was unclear at the time of contract. Another $50 added for a surcharge fee. Be sure to confirm total fees to be charged. They took extra special care with many of our personal items that were fragile and loaded the 53' Semi Van in front of our home with a tight pack. I had several questions prior to my move date and the customer service was on top of providing me answers in a very timely, professional manner. Their rates are on par with others (maybe a little less) - I liked receiving confirmation of the quote in writing & not having to put down a deposit. They were quick, but I was concerned with the gravel in the bottom of the moving truck. I discovered a chunk of wood broken off a bed post. Good thing is was a leg that sits against the wall. Another bed, when set up in its new location was screwed so tightly it splintered the wood. And to top it off, the lead man asked for a tip. I had them just help me load the truck as I was moving out of the area and drove the truck myself. The good was they showed up on time, and moved quickly, getting the truck loaded in decent time and safely. The bad was they added a trip charge the 2nd time I talked to them, which was a little irritating but nothing major, then when they showed up they also added the dock to dock charge adding over an hour of extra charge that was not disclosed. For 3 guys that added an additional $135 to my charges which added to the trip charge made it around $175 I was not originally told about. Basically increasing the cost a full 50% from the original quote. I was trying to get across the mountains and had a 1 day window before the weather got bad preventing my move for at least a week and costing me my new job, so I had no other choice but to pay them. When I called their office and the guy who I originally talked too they did not answer and still to this point have not returned the call 3 days later. read more

The movers were on time, quickly assessed what they had to pack up and kicked butt getting it all loaded. On time, professional, work fast, are careful. They had estimated four hours but did it in 2.5. They could have taken it easy and used the whole 4 hrs but they didn't. I used Two College Movers to move from Fort Collins, CO to Henderson, NV. When I spoke to Allen Vargas, he said it would not be a problem. Unfortunately, after I moved in, I noticed items were missing. I asked Allen about them and he said he had donated them--without my permission. Among the supposedly donated items were 6 boxes of China and 30 gallons of brand new paint, all expensive items. Over 30 items were missing and I really do not want anyone else to be taken advantage of. Please do not work with Allen Vargas and Two College Movers. read more

Two College Movers helped unload us on a large move from Wisconsin to Fort Collins. I was nervous but didn't need to be. They showed up with a large team and moved us in over about a three hour period. Warm day in June, lots of stairs and still no complaints, only a sense of urgency to get us completed. They even held up at the end to help me move a couch from the main floor to the basement that had already been moved twice. Highly recommend this team. read more
