First things first it should be a note you are forced to purchase insurance. Now no one exactly can tell you how the insurance works or how you would use it but you have to buy it. This will be important later.  When you drive down you'll think oh it's not too bad...maybe even good but really it's just a pig with makeup on. They upkeep the paint because that is at least what makes it look nice. But I promise you that is the only thing they upkeep.  Now my unit was in the courtyard, constructed of your standard corrugated sheet metal with a wooden interior frame. Seem decent enough but oh how I was wrong. Fast forward about 4 months and I return to remove my stuff and I find the roof has leaked into my storage unit. Resulting in a swimming pool. Ultimately this destroyed a substantial amount of my property which they then refused any liability. So I filed an insurance claim the insurance claim denied it due to water damage something that they refuse to cover even though it is stated. So god forbid it rains and they apparently have no responsibility to have an even remotely functional roof or maintain a building to keep your stuff away from the most basic of elements. Ultimately You are screwed if you store here! Now, this is where this review gets a little interpersonal and where I'll leave it at this. I'm a college student that moved all my stuff personally from Missouri by myself. What was destroyed was all of my bedding including the box spring, and mattress the whole lot. With insurance denying the claim and CubeSmart denying any responsibility. This leaves me sleeping on the floor. It's been 11 days on the floor I simply don't have money to buy a bed at the moment. Moving is incredibly expensive and it's now a whole lot more expensive.  It's a long review and for that, I apologize but I honestly feel as though I've been cheated and wrong. Below I'll leave a counter if Yelp will let me edit the review in the future and I'll update how many days I'm bed-less. Definitely not the welcome to Michigan I expected but the one I've received.  Please for the love of God don't store your stuff here it's not worth the risk. I made my appointment for a time that was convenient for me (1 week later on a Saturday) We arrived early, we were greeted promptly and told our vehicle would probably be ready for pick up in 2-1/2 - 3 hours. 3 hours later we were called and told that our vehicle was ready for pick up. I had previously considered installing the hitch and trailer wiring myself, however, due to time restraints decided to pay someone. Someone popped his head out and rudely told me I couldn't park there it was just for trucks, when I moved my car across the lot I then came in and told them that could have been avoided with a simple sign. They said it was common sense and suggested I was simply stupid. Was I pleasant?, not quite but i wasn't belligerent. Until they both verbally attacked me. They both started yelling at me. AGGRESSIVELY about how dumb I was to think I could park there......... I asked for one of their names and the one named "Patrick" got wildly aggressive. Yeah I was irritated coming in and was less than pleasant (but neither aggressive or belligerent) about having to walk across the parking lot (with difficulty) but this was absolutely crazy, calling me names, insulting me, When I had enough and told them to go to hell........ I wouldn't be shopping there they BOTH followed me out of the store yelling acting very aggressive both verbally and with body language, They both starting calling me a racist implying I took issue with their race. I yelled back that my oldest son was black, how the hell am I a racist? "Patrick" simply yelled "If he's black he cant be your son" one of the most ignorant and racist things I have heard in years, Then Patrick started asking me if I would "like to hit him" Corporate need to review the security footage for this.
