I have rented 26-foot trucks from this place each Saturday for the past three months (used to transport band equipment for field show competitions). Every single employee has been friendly, professional, and helpful, and has gone out of their way to make your visit here a pleasant experience. This U-Haul has always been my go too. It's close to home, easy to rent equipment, and for the most part friendly.. My husband came out to the car and mentioned the guy working had an awful attitude. No good morning or how can we assist? He simply ushered him outside and told him to find the trailer he wanted. Honestly, not believing my husband, I walked inside and offered a very cheerful "good morning"...that was met with only a glance up from his phone and a "which one do you want" We ended up renting the trailer because this is one of the only locations open at 7am but when I say this employee was GLUED to his phone... I'm mean txting while I'm talking to him, putting in my transaction with one hand on the computer because his phone is in the other. I'm not a rude individual, I gave him the benefit of the doubt and assumed at the time he was using his phone to assist in my transaction. However, from a customers standpoint, VERY unprofessional. You could imagine my frustration when I looked at his shirt to realize...he's the GENERAL MANAGER.?? I was shocked. Customer service really is dying and with this particular store being franchised it's up to the owners to correct these issues and hold them to a higher standard. read more

They are rude and racist. Came in for propane. You with nappy hair told me his propane refill nozzle is broken and could not refill my tank. Went across the street for gas and watched the same guy fill ya is for 2 other people. Totaling 5 tanks. I came back and he saw me. And tells the guys he's filling for that he couldn't fill any more tanks due to his hose is leaking. Wtf... first nozzle is broken and 5 minutes later it works and now the hose is leaking. October 7th visit around 3 P.M. Review #62 of 2023 Excellent experience here in a Saturday afternoon. I dropped off a car trailer after towing a vehicle that I sold from Vegas to Los Angeles. The price I paid for the car trailer was decent and the convenience to drop off at any U-Haul location was welcomed. I'm thankful that upon arrival a worker quickly started to work on accepting my drop off. Within a 5-10 minute window the trailer was accepted, unhooked, and I was on my way. Based on this experience, I highly recommend this as a drop off spot for anyone in the area. read more

This place located near my house, is one of two places, where I go to, for my propane fill ups. No problem with that, as the workers here are all pretty nice and attentive. Can get pretty busy on the weekends, especially during the summer months, and during football season. Long lines for propane, plus a few transactions for vehicle rental, can definitely cause service to slow at a snails pace. Also rented a couple of vehicles here, over the last 5 years, so just a heads up, when you see the sign on the vehicles that says rent me for $19.99. My short 45 min. trip from my house to Diamond bar, almost costed me $70. They forgot to tell me that I have to bring it back with the exact same amount of gas, as what I left with. And if you don't do it, they estimate how much gas to charge you. Who knows how accurate they are, as they can easily add as much as they want. So to make a long story short, refilling propane is good, purchasing moving supplies are good, staffers are good, beware of vehicle rentals. read more

We came here from out of town 2 hour away I got a trailer here to load up a car that I was going to buy out here .. ended up not buying the car by the time I saw the car the U-Haul had closed but I talked to their employee Luis and he said he would help me out to return the trailer at the same place and he would come back after hours for us to return the trailer AFTER HOURSSSS I also left my keys and he held them for me and got them back to me when I came back. We rented a uhual truck to move from la puente to San Bernardino. When we drove uhual to la puente the battery died. It took 2 hours to get it started. When drove from la puente to San Bernardino and was about the go home, the uhual didn't start. Had to wait 3 hours to try to get uhual started. We found out the alternative or starter didn't work. We found out they dont check the conditions of the uhual before they gave you a uhual to rent. This location gave us a uhual that didn't work. The manager called my wife early morning yelling at her about where is the uhual truck 3 days after it was supposed to be towed. Oliver really rude to my wife. Made a reservation online for a van. They had it available on the appointed date and time. We changed our minds and requested to change it to a pickup truck. Luckily it was available. Transaction was a breeze and the employees were really helpful and nice. Returning the vehicle wasn't a hassle either. Since we didn't drive too far we only had about $6 worth of mileage added to the total. They have everything you need for moving but of course it comes with a price. It was good we had our own dolly or else that's additional $5. Hopefully we won't have to do any moving soon, but if we do then this would be a great choice. read more

March 13, 2016 I have been here before and had a good experience with the services. First time was over five years ago and the most recent would be now. Apparently, they charge you what the estimate charges would be and then will reimburse you later on (after a week or two). The place closes at 5, but you can drop off the car and whatever equipment after-hours. They charge you $10 to rent a dolly. Though I hate moving things, overall, U-Haul is cool. read more

Last Friday 7/31/2020, the general manager at this location rescued me from U-haul purgatory. I had reserved a truck at a different U-haul location, only to be told upon arriving, that the truck I had reserved wasn't going to be there. They offered me a larger truck, but I would have had to pay the difference AND it wouldn't fit in the driveway at my daughter's new apartment complex. So they then offered me a 10' truck which would have meant more trips across the LA area AND because of these delays we were down to a half a day to make the move. On chance I stopped at the Baldwin Park location. They were able to rent me a truck in the size I needed and really saved the day. They followed great protocols for Covid safety and cleanliness. I was so grateful and impressed by the great care they took of us. read more

I received a vehicle with no contract no insurance in which I had mentioned to the employee that I had not paid nor received any confirmation of the vehicle yet he stated "it's ok we have you on file" so I left to make my move in which I also had a reservation set for 6am Sunday yet when I called to receive my password they said my reservation was canceled. So I show up to make the payment and the heavy set guy with the green shirt had an attitude with me and was upset because they called me 3 times yesterday to get information but I was busy moving which I mentioned that to him but he seemed like he didn't care and decided to go off and tell me that If I knew that I was driving with out insurance and if something had happen it would've been my fault ? Which I feel it's there fault because they had me driving around with no contract nor insurance so if something would've happened it would've never been my fault . All I'm saying is this place is definitely not the safest to get your uhaul and that guy in the green shirt definitely needs customer service skills or training read more

This is actually for all Uhaul , The whole company, They have boxes that say you can return them and get money back. You CAN'T. Once you used them, they are 'used' (ie, has tape on them. Who doesn't tape boxes closed!) and uhaul then will let you leave them there for other people to take for free, which is okay, but Uhaul makes it seem like You will actually get $. It's disreputable and dishonest, and they know it. Also, don't ever use those guys they let hang around out front, yes they let them and even help them. Those dudes will MESS your stuff up like they did mine. Broke many of my valuable antiques. read more

I had the best experience I've had at a U-Haul Rental ever! I rented a truck in North Hollywood last week and it was a nightmare that lasted nearly an hour! They couldn't access my corporate info, they didn't have a truck that I had made a reservation for, and they weren't friendly or very apologetic! Justin is the young man, who owns this franchise store, that he keeps immaculate, very organized and has even made cosmetic changes to improve his store! He's a young guy, very friendly, very charming and very cute! He's not only going to continue to be successful in his business but also in life! The transaction was done but the service was completely lackluster and void of any FRIENDLY SERVICE. When I walked in, the guy at the counter was on his smart phone and seemed put off when I walked in as I seemed to be a nuisance by interrupting whatever he was doing on his phone. Also good luck in getting an answer to your phone call post-service, either on the direct line to this site not the "Customer Service" 800 number. I received an email with a receipt of contract attachment which I need to submit to employer for reimbursement. Unable to open the attachment as the format is incorrect, I have been calling for some help. I have spent 4 days and at least 3 hours total on the phone, both local and 800 but to no avail. I have been on the phone for 30 minutes18 seconds with one more attempt to 800 # as we speak..... Next time I will seek rentals somewhere where they care about their customers. read more

I had a really bad rental experience with this store on April 28th 2019. I made a reservation on app one week ago. It only gave me 6 hours rental time. I knew it's too short and tried to change, it didn't let me. I thought it should not be a problem because I never had this kind of problem before. The drop off time was set for 1:30pm. I got a phone call from this store at 1:52pm and was asked if I can return it on time. I said I can't and will return at 5pm. The guy said that's fine and hanged up. When I arrived to store at 4:30pm, a guy named Anthony charged me 2 days rental. He's the same guy who called me in the afternoon. When I asked him why, he said it's because I was late and he couldn't rent it to another person, I have to pay what he lost. I was trying to call the store manager, no response so far. Just wanna other people know that when you make reservation next time, make sure to put 24 hours even though you can come back in 1 hour. Anthony is an fat Latino and really rude. Worst place ever to rent from. I have been renting from Uhaul for years, and it's the first time this has ever happened. They called to confirm my reservation, but when I arrived not only did it take approximately 40 minutes for me to finally get some service but they told me I had to return it by 4?!?!! Where I the world does 6 hours constitute a days worth of rental?!? So I was charged two days worth of rental and insurance fees for getting back at 5:30!!!!! never have i had this experience in my life. Today we came to this uhaul with a reservation. there was only one employee justin so we waited almost 30 minites before he can assist us. once we were up, we gave him our reservation paper for processing. He then charge our credit card and we were good to go. He gave us the documents with our reservation paper and lead us to out truck. As we were cleaning the truck he told us there was an mistake and needed to take back all the documents for revision. So we waited and went back inside to the fromt desk to find out what happened. This is where the problem begins. He wanted to get our information again and asked for our reservation. We were like what? this guy processed our information with our credit card then took all the documents back and asked us for our reservatiom again? We told him that he had it and that he took it from us. He pretty much said he doesnt know what we are talking about and that he didnt even process our information. weve been here for at least 2 hours trying to get our refund. he then finally give us refund but he only gave us a partial refund! apperently this guy claims that we came to return the truck and he charged us for the miles. What?! He didnt even give us the keys for the truck. Long story short, we had to call the police just so he can give us back our full refund. When I walked one of the guys wasn't wearing a mask and didnt bother putting one on as long as i was there. The other issue was the rental. I've rented lots on box vans/trucks from years of doing audio and this truck was the worst I've ever rented. Not only did it feel like the passenger wheel was on a dirt road half the time but the front stabilizer for the steering was out so whenever i hit a bump it became hard to control. I didn't have enough time to return it for another cause it was the weekend so my storage unit hours were a major concern. To top it all off the first time I opened the roll-up door it got stuck open and one other time when It slipped out of my hand (cause you had to guild it almost all the up). Both times it took 5-10 min. to get it unstuck. Luckily I had my toolbox with me. After reporting all this in my drop off they charged me full price. Never again. I'm finding a better company to rent from! read more

Only giving three stars because I've never used their services and am not one of those douches who hands out one stars like coupons, but would prefer to give one star. I was transferred 4 times and placed on hold for a total of 22 minutes, but never got a bit of information. All I wanted was a quote on an install for an electronic break control system. Should have been a pretty simple call, but apparently no one knows how to answer this type of call or where to transfer it. U-Hual, I hope you read and learn from this as to not irritate future costumers. You lost my business in 22 minutes flat. read more
