Great service! I filled 3 bbq propane tanks and was less than $40....super clean, easy, took maybe 10 minutes, and the people there couldn't be nicer. Very close to entrance for Santa Fe damn. I found this gem close by and so happy I did. We have 2 tanks and occasionally use the bbq grill. Those 2 tanks will last us at least 6-8 mos. When the tanks are out, I always struggle to find a place and those gas station places suck! A few times we got the cashier saying they are the only one working and they can't help fill the tank. Or buy one that is already filled. Why? if I have my own 2 tanks. Anyway, browsed on yelp and found this place. I don't know why it never popped up before. So after being rejected at the gas station because of 1 worker, we drove to Ted Johnson. They specialize in propane and have huge tank trucks carrying them for whatever purpose. Well, I drove up and there was a man standing waiting to help. He was kind and happy to help! He chatted with my husband as he was filling up both our tanks. So glad to find this gem near by and with nice people working! After filling, you receive a receipt of how much was filled and pay inside the office. Everything went smooth and the office is nice a professional. So are the workers! No more gas station for propane! read more

I really like this place to refill my BBQ tank. Sure it's a bit out of the way but their service is quick and excellent, and price is unbeatable. Today I got my 5 gal tank filled, with 4.6 gal of gas for $14.66, which is better than any exchange and I am sure what I am getting. Also, they recently started a frequent buyer card so with the 10 purchase, it's free. That's is awesome. I highly recommend this place to refill your Propane tank. read more

Arrived and the attendant was very polite and filled up my tank's immediately. Very courteous and great at his job. My first visit here and this place is impressive! Definitely service with a smile! After he was done, I took the receipt to the office to settle up. Cashier was very nice and gave me a frequent buyers card. After X amount of refills of my BBQ tanks I get a free refill. I love this family owned and run business. I have never run out of propane and their delivery person is one of the kindest and most dependable folks out there. But the best aspect of this company is that they don't gouge their customers. Many other competitors charge different rates amongst neighbors and neighboring businesses. They charge residential customers often a higher rate than commercial customers. Not Ted Johnson. I have been paying the same low rate for years. Always lower on average than competitors. Always a pleasure. Can't recommend them highly enough and I almost never post reviews. But they certainly deserve a minute of my time. You will not be disappointed! read more

I had two RV propane tanks to be refilled (not exchanged) and hydro tested. I called and spoke with "Becky" who was very knowledgeable and professional. I needed pricing information and other places I had called were very "cryptic" about what it would cost and how many days it would take. Went down here the other day. There was a RV ahead of me. I was overhearing how the man was taking his RV from Baldwin Park all the way to Louisiana the next day. He had a problem with his propane tank leaking and the guys over here had the part he needed to fix it. Man you could see the jubilation in the man's persona knowing that he could make the trip having propane. That was my funny experience here. They have huge propane tanks here, I didn't even know that they could get that big! Its pretty neat to look at the yard if you like to see different types of things. I couldn't help but ask if they sold "Propane and Propane accessories" lol. I bet they get that a lot. Anyhow, convenient place for me to go fill up the two bbq propane tanks that my brother has on his toy hauler. I found out too that you're only suppose to fill propane tanks to 80% of their maximum capacity. Something about the gas expanding with temperature? I learn something new every day! read more

I was referred to TJs by some folks at a near by business because I needed some propane for my work tanks. The feller at the fill station helped me out as I had never filled up a propane tank before. We chatted a bit, he was friendly and even put the tanks in my truck for me. Since my first visit, my boss has returned a couple more times to fill our work tanks. We don't have an account with them but are treated nice enough when we go. This is a more inexpensive option to the place we were going before. I'm glad for the recommendation and good service. My father went to Ted Johnson Propane today with a leaky propane tank valve to be replace on his BBQ tank. My father was recently operated and was not able to drive or lift anything for a few weeks, So my mom did most of the work. Once they got to the location they were help by a friendly employee (Mom and dad forgot the name... sorry) helped unload the tanks and replace the busted valve then fill then up and loaded them into their car in less than 25-30 min. My father said that they were very professional and fast. My father and I will pass the word out to those in need of propane location and tank valve repair. Our regular service fill-up goes like this: We call and tell them we need a fill-up of our tank on-site, and then they put us in for the next available slot. I used to use another propane distributor and we have over thirty propane powered trucks; a nice healthy account. We paid our bills weekly on line via credit card. Sometimes their driver missed our scheduled day of delivery and that would place us in a tight spot; it was a crap shoot of when they would show up. The last straw occurred when they missed a delivery and the driver thought enough to tell us that they put a hold on our account for non-payment. I opened up our portal and saw we had nothing outstanding. I called customer service and was told, "yes there was something outstanding that placed the account on hold," and they would be out when they had an open slot. I was never told what invoice or when or how long. We ran out of propane. I called Ted Johnson and they were able to service us and set our account seamlessly. Ted Johnson's service actually saved us money as well. When I need something they are always there to assist and I can always speak to someone courteous. My old vendor was a very large distributor and frankly did not hold a candle to Ted Johnson's dedication to service. read more
