Ask the Community - Ted Johnson Propane

Hi do you refill 16 oz propane camping cylinders?

We do not refill the small green camping propane tanks. They do not have a fixed liquid level gauge which means they need to be refilled using a scale. You can try calling PDQ in Sun Valley or Corona - I believe they fill by scale.

Can I exchange an expired/old valve 30lb tank for a 20lb tank here?

Hi Angel- Yes. We will take your expired tank at no charge and safely dispose of it and sell you…

Is there a minimum purchase limit for propane? I want to refill a 1 gallon propane tank

No, we do not have a minimum purchase amount. We charge by the gallon, so you only pay for what you need.

I have rented 26-foot trucks from this place each Saturday for the past three months (used to transport band equipment for field show competitions). Every single employee has been friendly, professional, and helpful, and has gone out of their way to make your visit here a pleasant experience. The trucks are well-maintained, prices are very affordable, and though the property is not large, the employees run a very efficient operation and make use of every single inch of space. If you need a truck rental of any size, look no further than U-Haul of Baldwin Park.

My husband came out to the car and mentioned the guy working had an awful attitude. No good morning or how can we assist? He simply ushered him outside and told him to find the trailer he wanted. Honestly, not believing my husband, I walked inside and offered a very cheerful "good morning"...that was met with only a glance up from his phone and a "which one do you want" We ended up renting the trailer because this is one of the only locations open at 7am but when I say this employee was GLUED to his phone... I'm mean txting while I'm talking to him, putting in my transaction with one hand on the computer because his phone is in the other. I'm not a rude individual, I gave him the benefit of the doubt and assumed at the time he was using his phone to assist in my transaction. However, from a customers standpoint, VERY unprofessional. You could imagine my frustration when I looked at his shirt to realize...he's the GENERAL MANAGER.?? I was shocked. Customer service really is dying and with this particular store being franchised it's up to the owners to correct these issues and hold them to a higher standard.

Before bringing it in, I asked the cashier if it was okay since I was only going to be inside for a few minutes to purchase a few items. The cashier said it was fine. A few minutes later, the store manager, who I believe is named Evan, came through the store yelling, "Whose e-bike is that?" in front of other customers. Instead of speaking to me professionally, she immediately became confrontational. I calmly explained that I only needed a few minutes to finish my purchase, but she responded by insulting me and using profanity. I'm an adult, a paying customer, and a regular shopper at this location. There was no reason for the situation to be handled with shouting and disrespect. If there was a store policy, it could have been explained politely instead of creating a scene. I reported the incident to corporate, but because this location is independently franchised, they were unable to resolve the issue. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this store while this manager is in charge. Customers deserve professionalism and respect, not public embarrassment over a situation that could have been handled with a simple conversation. Ty
