Came here to have dinner/lunch during my work break. Random traveling and found this place for a quick meal. The food took so long we finally gave up and asked to pay for our 2 mediocre drinks and passable cheese dip. While checking out, was told "that's just how it is when we make it fresh." Based on my Waitr experience: This was my first time eating here and it's not many vegetarian options, the meals on the app require you to pick a protein. I put a special request for the chicken to be on the side since I'd be charged for it anyway. The restaurant called to confirm my request which I thought was greatly customer service. Ordered takeout as we were passing through town. The ordering process over the phone was pleasant and easy. Ordered the chicken torta and chicken fajitas. The torta was good, make sure to get the option with avocado and jalapeños. The jalapeños were fire in all aspects of taste and heat. I will say, the torta bun was slightly harder than others I have had but I still smashed it. The chicken fajitas were the star of the show. I would certainly order them again. Soft corn tortillas, tasty chicken and veggies and fresh guacamole/ pico. The fajitas came with side options and we got beans and rice, both were authentic tasting The red salsa is spicy but to the right degree. Chips are crisp and perfectly fried, not oily. Wow. Delicious food. I ordered chicken tacos, and chunky guacamole with a side of beans. All the food was saturated in rich flavor. The black beans were prob the best I've ever had. Most places when you get a side of black beans it tastes like they were poured out of a can. Friendly fast service. Can't wait to try more of the menu next time. read more

I'm impressed with this spot, especially since most of the Mexican/Hispanic/Latino food places in the area are average or sub-par. When you walk in, it doesn't look like much...but sometimes the best places are so unassuming. The server was super sweet and helpful; since we sat at the bar area, we had some chitchat with her. The margaritas are tasty and strong, and not watered down as many places do. We ordered the nachos supreme and I was pleasantly surprised. I thought it would be too plain, but the meat was amazingly spiced and tasty...I wanted more! I got the enchiladas carnitas and sometimes I can eat the whole thing with as little as they give you...but here they pleasantly back the enchilada with cheese and meat! When ordering, I was timid about how the caramelized onions would blend in with the taste of the dish, and, I tell you, it was a beautiful addition. The meat was smoky, the sauce and cheese were salty...so the sweetness of the caramelized onions balanced it out. And, the meat is, once again, tasty and packed full of flavor, I would just grab a bowl and eat it plain! Overall, this was a great experience, and would recommend this place to anyone in the area. read more

We've been to Tzango's (Tzango? Tzangos?) a few times now and as I was looking at their menu on the web before this visit, I noticed that no one had reviewed them yet. YOU. HEY YOU, MIDDLE GEORGIA PERSON. WHY HAVE YOU NOT BEEN HERE YET? STOP READING THIS AND GO NOW. I'll wait out front for you, you might need it. It's in a sketchy strip mall and so it gives every impression of being a lousy American approximation of Mexican vittles, but don't let that fool you, come on in. It might take them a minute to get to your table since they seem to run on a smaller staff than they need for the relatively large floor area they host. Don't worry, be patient, it's worth it. The staff is friendly and kind; they'll take good care of you. The customary chips and salsa are a lovely treat; you'll note they're thicker than most but I'm pretty sure they were fried fresh for our table. We ordered a Fire Steak to split between the two of us. The 10oz steak came to the table, cooked to the temp we requested, sizzling and beautiful on the fajita pan, dressed with caramelized onion and grilled jalapeños. I had corn tortillas, my counterpart had flour tortillas. Both were amazing, the corn tortillas actually smelled and tasted like corn, not...you know...paste...which is often what it turns out to be in some places. It. Was. Delicious. Just spicy enough to feel alive and be able to actually taste the food instead of lamenting your tastebuds and sinuses. Don't tell anyone, but I dumped the juices left in the pan (after we ate everything, because we did) on top of the beans and rice and it made me happy. My Place To Go For Mexican Food!! I have eaten at Tzango's since it opened and I find it to be excellent food! The Bulldog Burrito is one of my favorites, along with the tamales, camarones diablo (shrimp), and the fire steak (very hot!)!! The staff is very friendly and willing to help you in any way they can!! Carita is our waitress of choice, just because she knows us! I read some of the other reviews and can't fathom some of the poor remarks--I have NEVER got anything but great food there!! The Margarita's (frozen) are made fresh, and you can usually watch them being made! Guess the times I go is when they are make excellent quiszene!! For the past two months, I have returned for $7.50 burrito with broccoli, two kinds of beans, quest fresco, peppers, rice, onions, and hot salsa ( I walk in the door and don't even order because she knows )! A burrito should wrap you in warmth and comfort from your first bite to your last! Tzango food is fresh, made to order, and soulful. We lived fairly close to this restaurant for quite some time but had never eaten there. After our first visit we realized what we had been missing. Excellent food, excellent drinks and excellent service. The staff are always pleasant and helpful with any questions. Everyone we have met seems happy working there and we all know that can be a rarity in the restaurant business. We now live across town from this gem but still make the effort to eat there often. If you haven't tried it you owe it to yourself to go as soon as possible. read more
