It never got better. My review from before stands, just took it to a 1 star because it was worse. I opted to go back because I had a recall on the car, normal. I made an "appointment" for 11/25. I made arrangements to not have the car all day giving my past experience. But, I got a call from Amanda Kelly, around 3:30pm that my car will not be serviced today. I was told it was because they still had cars to tend to the day prior. I was annoyed. I said I just want my car back I do not want to go through this again the next day. I'll deal with the recall else where and my oil change. But, she gave me a break on the oil change and would do what she can to help for tomorrows service. But, she was not in today 11/26. 11/26: at around 1:30pm I started calling the service department to check in the status of my car. All day there was no communication whatsoever. Someone else was handling Amanda's clients I guess. I was getting no where fast. Then I finally get a human to talk to and the person told me that service was not taking any phone calls all day because of the work the had. Um. Ok. So what happened to the customer? I then decided to just go over. As I got out of the car it was 4:03pm. I was quickly turned away by some other employee. But, at that point I was getting my car regardless. I headed to the side door of the bay doors.... Passing through the stench of marijuana from an employee... I can't make this up people, then inside to get help. My car was done, no car wash or vacuum because I just wanted my car. Holding it for 48 hours was not what I had planned. I do not know what happened to this place. Back in 2020/ half of 21 things were ok. I had communication via phone and text when my car was there. I'm sure my last representative was into something and that's why they left. I will forever pass the word on that this is not the place to go. You will be in happy. I'm seeing so many other reviews stating the same. I'd rather drive to Richmond or VA Beach for my services if it means better customer service. read more

I called because my car was powering off while driving (engine stopped, no working gauges, everything is black), but when I pushed the gas the car came back to life and all the lights, excluding the check engine light turned on). I was told they had an appointment next Tuesday - mind you this was a Monday afternoon and an emergency. Valencia said the tech would try to find the problem, but they need until Friday at the earliest to try and figure it out. Long story short - I manage to get my car there. They "fix" my car. My kid drove it home because I was in a rental when I picked it up from the dealership... I finally drove it the next day (today) after it sat all day because I telework and my engine stutters. Bring it in Monday she says. If it's something different we'll go from there. How do I take my car to the dealership to get it fixed and it sounds like my engine is going to rattle right off the block? I also paid for a coolant service. After going under my hood I realized my coolant is the same weird color and at the same level (slightly below minimum) as it was when I took my car to the dealership. A service paid for that wasn't rendered. The customer service at this Hyundai is unsatisfactory, to say the least. Valencia stated, "I know you're happy to get your baby back." Not like this. She should be in a better condition after taking her to the dealership. This is my second Hyundai. After this experience they will never have to worry about me buying another one. This is the second time where I have dropped of my car for a service but the lack of professional to inform their customers and keep them updated is absurd. They have my car over 24hrs without calling me or telling me an update and then when you call it goes to voicemail so you can't get any update unless you show up. I finally showed up after they've had my car over 30hrs for a back camera recall and now they said it will be 20mins more. What's the appointment of scheduling an appointment a day ago. I purchased a vehicle from this dealership right around two years ago. Firstly, during their 150 check, they cleared the codes and placed the car on the lot for purchase. One of the codes happened to be for engine failure. My engine froze up on me about 6 months later. Secondly, at the time of purchase, my contract included a vehicle service contract. Well, when I had taken the car in for repairs, I couldn't get the car repaired because they had obviously entered the wrong odometer mileage. Then the company refused to return my calls, and I had to do the legwork in order to get my car repaired. Not only that, but the company, nor the finance company would invalidate/void the contract. Oh, the beauty of this is, when I called to discuss what happened after my engine had frozen. One of the managers said to me, "That's not our problem, you can't prove that we knew about the codes, and we aren't going to fix it.". Then the idiot hung up in my face. DO NOT purchase anything from here, and if you do, please check the mileage on your vehicle service contracts if you purchase one. The company isn't required by law to tell you if anything is wrong with the car at the time of purchase, but if I were you....see if you can get a car fax or something. DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT purchase any USED VEHICLES from this place, EVER EVER EVER EVER. I don't understand how this place functions from day to day. I had an appointment to replace the plastic of the control panel on the driver side. They sold it to me this way and I was told they had the part to fix it when I purchased the vehicle. Well that was a complete lie. I called the service center explained my situation above and it took them 40 min just to figure out that they didn't have the part or any idea that it was supposed to be fixed. I then scheduled an appointment to fix the vehicle. I show up at my appointment and dropped off the keys. They shuttled me back to my house (The only reason I'm giving them 2 stars is because of the driver I got. He was amazing, I told him I was new to the area so we took time out of his day to drive around Hampton and show me around for about 10 minutes! It wasn't much but I really appreciated him.) About 15 minutes later I get a call from the DRIVER. Services didn't even bother to call me they called the driver and then had him call me... The driver explained that the service department didn't have the part and he would be at my house to take me back to the dealership in 30 minutes. This was odd as I had a confirmation email from the parts department saying that the part was ordered. I tried to call services and I got a voicemail. They didn't put me on hold or anything. The concierge just said they're not at the phone but I can give you a voicemail. So I left one and 30 minutes go by with no call back. The driver showed up and took me to the dealership. The drive was another 15 minutes. So 45 minutes total and no call back from services. I then go to the service department and the only guy working services that day proceeds to tell me that he got my voicemail and talked to the guys back in parts. It turned out that they in fact DID have the part to fix the vehicle. I then asked how long it would be and the answer I got was, "It'll be done by 6:00pm because that's when we close." It was currently 11am, how can you not give someone a better estimate of how long it will take to fix their vehicle?!? So at about 11:30am a friend picked me up and took me home. I get a call around 3pm saying my car is ready to be picked up. My friend drives me back up there and drops me off. I get my keys and get ready to leave. Luckily I checked to see if it was done right because the plastic panel was still hanging off the seat!!! I go back inside to tell the services guy. He apologized and took it back to the shop. He came back and said they needed to order another part to fix it! They really tried to let me leave thinking it was fixed when the mechanic knew it wasn't done correctly. Absolute terrible and disrespectful way to do business. I'm luck that it was just a cosmetic repair. I will never trust this place to fix my car mechanically. The amount of laziness, unprofessionalism, and lack of communication between departments at this dealership is unmatched. If you want to waste your entire day take your car to get fixed here. I really hope I have a better experience next time since they still need to fix my seat. read more

Tim M. A New Customer is now an ex-customer! Totally unsatisfied with the service department. We brought a 2020 Hyundai on Monday 1-3-2022, on Friday 1-7-2022 we notice the vehicle would not accelerate past 60 MPH RMP at 51/2, the gas pedal was to the floor. My wife took the vehicle to the service department on 1-8-2022 at 09:00hrs., she explained the problem and informed Jessica at the service desk that we had just purchased the vehicle on Monday. Jessica informed my wife that they were working with a skeleton crew and to bring it back first thing Monday morning 1-10-2022 and they will look at it. I arrived at 07:30 on 1-10-2022 and waited until they opened. I talked to Jessica the service rep, informed her of the problem, and informed her that we just purchased the vehicle. Jessica stated they wouldn't be able to get to it until later that afternoon or early Tuesday morning. I told her that would be fine, gave her all our information and the key. Tysinger did arrange transportation to drop me off at home. At approximately 14:00 hrs. on my way to work, I drove by and notice my vehicle was parked in row "A", 3rd slot from the end. Tuesday at approximately 11:00hrs, I stopped by to check on the status of my vehicle, still in row "A" 3rd slot. I made contact with and asked Jessica if the vehicle was ready, she grabbed a stack of work orders and I notice my work order was at the bottom of the stack. She called someone hung up and said they can't get to it until tomorrow. I said so you guys haven't even looked at it yet? She stated, not yet, is that ok, I said "NO It's unsatisfactory" and walked out. On Wednesday 1-12-2022, at 10:30hrs, I again stopped by to check on my vehicle, still in row "A" 3rd slot. (Jessica wasn't there) another lady checked for me and informed me it's waiting on parts. She did make a call and I hear her tell the person on the other end. "Well you need to stop working on that and work on this one, it's been here for 2 days. She asked if anyone contacted us, I say nope, she said we will be in contact. I made contact with the service manager, Mr. Lee, and informed him of the situation. I also told him that I know 4 other vehicles (not for oil changes) were dropped off after my vehicle was dropped off and they were completed Tuesday and none of them had appointments (an acquaintance informed me). Mr. Lee stated a vehicle waiting in the service lot for 2 days before anyone even looks it is NORMAL! He says "I have had one here for 2 WEEKS before we looked at it. Then he said with this Covid going on, we're low manned and a ton of work. I asked about the other vehicles and he said your vehicle was level 1 (I believe that was the terminology), How would he know what 4 vehicles I was referring to? I said, what about someone calling me to inform me of the status, is that covid related....Wait for it...He said "yes". I said, "So you're telling me covid-19 prevents your service reps from calling your customers and updating them on the status of their vehicle. He again said, "yes, do know how many people we serve a day". Uhmm, So many people they served a day, but he knows the 4 vehicles I was talking about..Uhmm. Of course, he had to inform me how many years he has been doing this line of work. Less than 2 hours later my wife received a text, the car was ready!! My wife picked up that vehicle and stated I don't know hope this can happen with only 30,000 miles, the rep stated oh I can walk out and have a heart attack right now! They show zero concern about our situation, It was like we were wasting their time. I will be taking my vehicle to another Hyundai dealer for service. The Sale Department was Top-Notch! read more

For all those parents of young military men and women, just know this dealership preys on these young people. My son bought a car, I was helping him over the phone from California, but unfortunately the pressures and unethical business practices locally broke down my young, immature 19 year old. They ripped his face off and then sold him a $1500 maintenance plan, luckily I know enough people in the business that I told him the next day that he could go and remove this overpriced and unnecessary plan. I don't agree with dealerships completely screwing over anyone. But, I really expect that they would have some morals and show some appreciation for these young adults who have chosen to serve their country and defend your freedoms!! All you care about is making a pounder and getting paid while these young adults get paid very little, they aren't getting rich by any stretch and if it wasn't for military housing they couldn't even afford to live on their own. For all of you that work at this dealership, from sales, to the desk guy to finance, next time just use this line when one of our kids come in to buy a car, since your actions said this to my son: "we appreciate your service to our country, which gives us the opportunity and freedom to completely rip your face off and make a 5 pounder on you. But, this company promotes the practice of unethical behavior, we hope you understand. My commission will be more than you make this month, Thank you." on Jun 19 ... I was towed to a repair and diagnostic tysing and I fixed the payment 1300$ .... but because of the new car repair and other cars I did not run much to work ... After 2 weeks on july 4 I went to Ross parking .... when I started the car inactive and the fire front (the video,look like first one towed fix 1300$ ) I called the company tysing and they asked me to towed the car up to the tysing. next Monday ... then they say that I had to fix the $ 2800 car on the grounds that the car was not modified by the alternator (but the same .... only the alternator was new) ... I was really I don't know if the diagnostic is done, check it out not to fix it twice and it costs $ 4,000 for a problem ... I am very angry but because I don't know the car well and dont know speak, so I'm quiet and today I say they want Take the keys and pull the car away and they make me pay $ 300 and with Because the diagnostic manager ..... I want to drop my current car ... Disappointing Dealership Experience My teenage daughter will soon get her first part-time job and internship, so I wanted to get her a car. On Monday, October 10, I began searching for her first car with a budget of $7,200. On Wednesday, October 15, I contacted Hampton Hyundai about a Kia Soul they had, but was told it was out of my price range, so I then inquired about a Ford Fiesta they had that was within my budget. The car was in NC, so they required I put down a $2000 deposit for them to transport the car here. On Tuesday, November 9, the car arrived and on Wednesday November 10, I went to see the Ford Fiesta, and decided to purchase it. That was when the issues began. 1. After paying (in cash) the amount I was quoted (verbally AND via text message), the salesman told me the price was different (and higher) than what I paid. I told and showed him the text message where he quoted what I paid, but he said that price was incorrect, so I had to pay the difference. 2. I was told by Joe, the salesman, that they went over the car, and the fluids were filled and oil changed. After getting the car home, my father looked over the car, and discovered that fluids were low, and the oil was low and dirty. My father then purchased the fluids and oil needed to fill the car. I called the sales manager to tell him what I was told had been done, had not, and he told me to bring the car in on Monday, November 15, they would change the oil and reimburse us for the fluids we purchased. Joe never reimbursed me the money he said he would.  When I arrived at the service center, they were never informed that I was coming for the (free) oil change, and I had to argue with several people before they finally agreed to do it, only after telling me it would be "free this time, but next time I had to pay for it" like I was trying to scam them for an oil change, when it was something they were supposed to have already done before I purchased the car! 3. When I added the Ford Fiesta to my Geico insurance, it was flagged for a recall. No one at the dealership ever informed me this car had a recall! So I had to take it to the Hall Ford dealership once again to have the recall fixed, and they fixed it.  4. When my daughter drove the car Monday, November 15, the car began to jerk when she would accelerate. At this point I am so exhausted and disappointed in this whole process, so I sent Joe a text message about what was going on. He called me and said he didn't even read my text, because it was too long. I explained my frustration in detail and told him everything that had happened since we got the car. I stressed to him that this car was for my child, but I felt like that didn't matter, because he just wanted a quick sale. He got irritated with me, and told me that I was told this car had over 167,000 miles and mechanical issues! I stopped him right there and told him he NEVER said anything about mechanical issues and if he had, I would NEVER buy a car for my teenage daughter that had mechanical issues!! He then said, "You're right, and as a salesman, I would never say a car has mechanical issues." He then said I could trade this car for a better one, but I'd have to finance a "safer" car.  Not only was the fact that he said "safer" very concerning to me as a mother buying this car for my child, but he knows I am a single mother on disability who recently financed a handicap van for myself, so I cannot finance another car in my name. He then told me there are 500 cars in his inventory with maybe only two in my price range. We finished the conversation with him telling me to bring that car back AGAIN and they would look at the jerking.  5. Today, Tuesday, November 16, I took the car back AGAIN to get the jerking checked. When I called, they said the jerking was "normal" because the car has a dual transmission clutch. When I picked the car up, Crystal brought it to me, and she said she felt the jerking and advised me to take it to Ford just to be sure, because Hall didn't have the right equipment to really look at it. She was the most honest person I talked to during his whole terrible experience. read more

Brooke, Someone definitely followed up with me but I wouldn't say my concerns were addressed. The online quote given to me was $9200 ish. Then after waiting forever he came out and said they can give me $5500 for the car. That's a $3700 difference. When I asked what the large discrepancy was for he referenced paint work that would need to be done. I already had this quoted to me at $500 worth of work. What was the explanation for the rest of the $3200? There wasn't a good one. What an epic waste of time. It's almost like a scam. There was never any intention to offer anywhere near the cash shown in the online estimate. This was not a trade in value offer estimate, it was for CASH. Not to mention I drove 45 minutes each direction to have my time completely pissed away based on lies. I'll never do business with Tysinger auto with your dishonest scam-artist tactics. Pam was very dishonest, few months in I had issues with my car, the engine locked the ac stopped working and now the alternator isn't working. I've tried to be so patient with them, I called the manager in service Kenny he was very rude. Next I called my service agent Crystal and she was extremely rude. I live in Norfolk near the Virginia Beach city line, so this place is in no way conveniently located for me. However, the Hyundai Elantra I bought from Checkered Flag a few years ago is still under warranty so I get all my work on it done at dealerships to avoid voiding the warranty. And since my fiancee and I have gotten fed up with both the dealership service departments we can get to without making a water crossing, it was Tysinger's turn. Asides from having to take I-64 to Hampton and back and the fact that their waiting area TV was tuned to CNN and its braincell-killing histrionics about the Malaysian plane crash I was pleased with my decision to come here. They (the "red team") gave good service in the form of active listening while I was telling them what I was there for, asking me questions to clarify what I wanted done. And one problem I was experiencing, their method of diagnosing it was "we're going to check the simplest, easiest to fix possible cause first, and then move to anything expensive" and as a result I only had to pay for like 10 or 15 minutes of labor to get it solved. So yay. Best of all, though: no upselling. They didn't try to convince me to get the radiator or transmission fluid flushed 30,000 or 45,000 miles sooner than the owner's manual says. The things they found as areas of concern during the inspection with the oil change, they didn't try to get me to have fixed then and there. They even, on one of them (AC belt showing wear), flat out said "you probably won't need it replaced next time, even, we just need to look real closely at it", and on the other, they seemed to take it for granted that I wasn't going to buy new tires at dealership prices. Oh, and that "next time"? The sticker they put in the windshield for when my next oil change is due is the same interval (7,500 miles from now) that the owner's manual says as default - which I've never seen before. read more

Recently I purchased a new Sonata from Tysinger. The car purchase went very well and my salesman James Barge was great. But my negative experience comes from after the sale. Long story short I ended up paying an additional small amount for my old car and the GM Larry Stevenson showed no compassion that I received bad customer service and no return phone calls from the finance department. They did not offer anything to make up for the difference to keep a customer happy. I felt that the overall attitude after my experience was that the customer is wrong and they are right. I had been searching for a later model 4Runner for sometime. Tysinger had one listed, 1 owner, lower miles for the year and in perfect shape. I drove from Chesapeake to test drive and was pretty excited that I finally found my truck. Well after we dealt and came to an agreed price (I hate this part by the way), I was asked if I wanted a 150 point inspection check from Tysinger, costing an extra $75. This is after a lengthy online article about how perfect this car was and a test drive. I should have stopped everything right there, but my salesman, (James something) convinced me that Tysinger would not have this truck on the lot if it really needed an inspection, so I turned it down, big mistake. After a week of ownership I have replaced the dashboard and gear shift light bulbs, notice the gas hood does not open properly, and the brakes are not smooth when applying. They are bumpy, which indicates worn-out pads or a warped disc somewhere. This truck has an Aug/14 inspection sticker.... hmmm. Advice for anybody considering Tysinger. Ask directly if the car or truck has been inspected prior to driving. And if not have it included in the final price. I truly hope this was not a mistake, but I have a bad feeling. I bought my Tucson in 2019 and as apart of the contract, I had a sunroof added. After a month if waiting no one had contacted me to have it put in (I was told someone would reach out) so I had called and made a service appointment to have it installed. They said they had to take it to another location and get it done, that they don't do it on site and gave me a loaner car to use for about a week. Recently, it looks like the sunroof has come off the tracks or something and I went there to have it fixed because, ya know, they handled installing it. After waiting for 3 1/2hrs we are told by Crystal and the parts manager it's not their problem and that we are responsible for getting it fixed. They are saying it's because it's an aftermarket product and the work to install it was done by another company. They said we had to go to the company who did the work, when we called we found out that company is now out of business. We also found the service ticket/invoice from when i turned it in to have it installed where it actually says they (the dealership) were supposed to install it, and again, we were told it was our problem. We also contacted a few other companies to get estimates and explained the situation and even those companies said in our case the dealership SHOULD still have it covered under the vehicles warranty bc it was PURCHASED through them. We called the dealership back to argue it further and spoke to the sales manager, he said he'd have to do some "research " and call back. He called back the next morning with no other explanation or information from the "research" he supposedly did and simply said again that it was our problem not theirs. Will no longer be doing any sort of business with this dealership and I highly do not recommend them after this one experience were there was a problem. read more

For many years, I had nothing but PRAISE FOR TYSINGER! WELL THINGS HAVE CHANGED! I as a female, never felt so taken advantage of in recent times. I took my SUV in for service due to it stalling as I am driving down the road at 45 miles ph. Needless to say, with cars behind me, I quickly turned on emergency blinkers and proceeded to start it. It started and I proceeded to go back home. As I was driving, the car started surging as I applied the brakes! I took it in to Tysinger. I told them a a diagnostic was needed and a oil change. Well when I called back they told me they could not find anything wrong! I explained it is an intermittent problem. It will take time for you to actually see the problem. Yet Matt had created a list of needed repairs. Timing belt, spark plugs, and sensor with a whopping total at a thousand and eighty dollars. My timing belt had been changed in 2018! I said look at the maintenance history on my car! This is when he discovered I was savvy ENOUGH to know the details of my maintenance on my car plus was up to date on mileage maintenance. I informed him that I needed a loaner while they complete their diagnostic review. There were no cars available to give an African American woman! I said if I take this car off the lot after bringing it to you for repairs and I am injured as a result, you guys are subjecting yourselves for a serious liability case. I am now having to pay for a rental car while they charge me for a known issue of engine stallings in Hyundai vehicles! Sounds like discrimination and lack of concern of safety for customers! What a shame that this family business has lost sight of what has made it a success over the years...... TRUST and customer satisfaction! So DISAPPOINTED IN SO MANY WAYS! read more

If you've recently bought a Hyundai/Genesis from Hyundai of Hampton, you better hope that they don't mess your car up during service because they will refuse to take responsibility and insist that you're lying. At least that's what happened to me and my brand new, 65k, 2022 Genesis GV70 with brand new custom 22 inch wheels that I just purchased in December of 2021. I recently took it to the dealership to get an oil change on Saturday February 26th where their lovely team of service members gashed both front wheels and tires. At first very pleasant, Crystal, the service writer proceeded to ensure me that it will get taken care and took pictures of the damage and sent me off with her business card. She said she would be talking to Kenny, the service manager, because he had already left for the day and would be hearing from him on Monday: WHICH NEVER HAPPENED. Crystal then turned into a liar saying that she never took pictures of the damage and that the service technician had admitted to damaging only ONE of my wheels, which is ironic to me because both front wheels have similar gashes. Needless to say, after multiple failed attempts of trying to get in touch with Kenny, we decided to make a follow up appearance on Saturday March 5th, where we met Troy, who is the Mercedes-Benz Manager, who told us that Kenny would finally be calling us the following Monday, WHICH NEVER HAPPENED. Instead, we got a phone call from lying Crystal saying they would like to repair my rim (but only one rim, not the two that they messed up). Mind you, my rims are brand new, custom rims. I don't want them to be repaired; I wanted them replaced. Still not ever hearing from this Kenny guy, we decide to make another appearance today, and low and behold - we finally get to meet lying, conniving Kenny, who basically proceeded to call us liars, who also contradicted everything that lying Crystal said about the service member admitting to damaging the one rim. Originally, Crystal made it clear that the service tech admitted to damaging the right rim, but today, Kenny said that he admitted to damaging the left rim (kind of weird, right). At the end of it all, I was called a liar and given an ultimatum that I either let them repair the rim or walk away OR that I could pay for one rim and they would pay half; very funny Kenny. Needless to say, this place is full of liars who will refuse to take responsibility for personal property damage. If I damaged my rims, I can afford to replace them myself without having to con someone into buying them for me. Take responsibility and learn how to treat customers. It's not a he said/ she said; your team DAMAGED my property and are refusing to fix it. read more

This dealership has horrible customer service, from being totally ignored about what I asked for to then belittle my knowledge of my own finances and what I can afford. I already have the loan through USAA and explained I would be buying the car outright with an EFT payment made straight to them they would not budge on price for an older model Q5 that they also said I wouldn't get a lower apr of 5% when in fact my credit is excellent and got a 3.5% APR. I'm disgusted because I used to work in sales and I know how important it is to treat customers when they are excited about purchasing you are supposed to be excited also for them. They showed no interest in the sale I guess it's because they have newer Audi's to sell but for a 2013 Audi Q5 with well over 100,000 miles I don't think by asking for them to negotiate price that they would insult my intelligence. Every one star review on here is completely justified they waste your time here. they just wanna waste your time they don't help you buy a car they made me risk my health by going to this dealership three times leaving with no car every time. also one of the workers was coughing out of control so thats something to look into. Purchased two new vehicles over the past decade from this dealership but never again. Service is horrible and they never address the issues that are identified. First a Sonata with an engine defect and now a Gensis with so many issue it would not even pass for a lemon. Avoid this dealership at all costs. I had the worst experience ever in their dealership this weekend. I buy at least two cars between my family, work and kids have never seen unprofessionalism like this. First of all, I had an appointment that was not upheld by sales staff. Next, it took twenty minutes to be helped. then, my request for a car appraisal took an hour. Next, the sales person took a test drive through a cemetery. Then the sales person doesn't have a desk so we sit in the waiting area.. The sales manager was the worst tho. He was very unprofessional with his demeanor. He told me to go to another dealership because he didn't have time for my request. read more

Ty (Green Team) was FANTASTIC!! brought my car in for second annual service and to look at another issue. Ty got everything and I meant EVERYTHING taken care of quickly! Thought I was going to be in/out but a more in depth problem was found and needed warranty verification before repairs could be made. Ty made sure I was in a loaner vehicle so I was not without transportation. Got my car back/good as new and at ZERO COST to me!! Nothing for the loaner or the repairs! Ty handled it all!!! On 10/4/2021 our 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe had a catastrophic turbo failure at 35,000 miles. We had it towed to Hyundai of Hampton aka Tysinger Hyundai. They said the turbo was back ordered until 11/11/2021. They had no loaner cars and would not reimburse us for a rental. They referred us to the Hyundai National number to create a customer care case. We were given a case number and manager. The manager was suppose to contact us in 4 to 5 days. 24 days later there had been no contact. I called the national service number and I was told no one in the company could assist me except my case manager who had not reached out to us or responded to calls. I contacted the dealer again and was told there was nothing they were willing to do. The case manager finally replied with an email stating Hyundai would reimburse us $35 a day toward the rental. The rental will be $75 a day and the dealership said it could take up to 90 days or more to complete the repair. I have contacted others with similar problems and they have been waiting for repairs since early July. With no projected ETA on the parts for the repair. I ask from reimbursement for car payments if I had to pay the majority of the rental cost while the dealership completed warranty work. I was told by the general manager of Hyundai of Hampton he was not authorized to do that and had no contact number for his boss only an email. I emailed his boss and surprise no response. Hyundai's customer service program is designed to give you the run around until you give up and just pay out of pocket so they loose 0 profit from the inherently unreliable product they sell. This practice is proudly up held by the management of Hyundai of Hampton. Do not go to this dealer if you are expecting to invest in a reliable vehicle and a responsible and concerned customer service plan. They do everything in their power to avoid their responsibilities and pass all cost of their failure to the already victimized customer. I would give them zero stars but then the review won't post. read more

So we went to Tysinger Automotive to purchase our Honda Pilot, our 5th car we bought from them. Well one of the stipulations for us buying the car was for them to put a new timing belt on and they were to call and schedule the appointment. Well when we went in to sign the paperwork we ended up buying the extended warranty/maintenance plan and gap insurance. Well with the extended warranty/maintenance plan we were told we get a free replacement key once year and a bunch of other stuff. Cool, we leave with our new car. A week and a half later no has called about replacing the timing belt so we had to call. We were told to come in last Monday and drop it off. We get there and the tech who works on Honda's was out and we were asked to bring it back this past Monday, which we did. The check engine light came on and then a day later went off. My husband ask to have a diagnostic done on it and the service lady told us that we would be charged. My husband told her we haven't had the car for 30 days yet. They say they did it but we can't prove it. It wasn't touched Monday or Tuesday. We finally get the call that our car and key was ready. We get our invoice through a text message and said we owe $148 for the key. We told them it was under our warranty/maintenance plan and they said nope. I asked to speak with someone and was told sales opens up at 9. We just told them to give us our original key and car, we left. For now on we will be taking our car and business else where. So if you are looking for a new or used car, please save you time and energy and go to anywhere other than Tysinger. You will thank me later!!!! read more

The good: a lovely surface experience with kindness and professionalism from the front staff The bad: the communication between the mechanic and team leader was so poor that I was told my first part was wrong but could not get any specifics to give the supplier as to what was wrong and get it fixed. I had to go to another shop (Hornsby Tires, who took the whole driveshaft apart and kindly showed me with pictures exactly what we as wrong with the part.... For free!!) Then, after returning with the right part to tysinger the mechanic didn't know how to properly install my drive train. It was installed incorrectly which caused major vibrations. When the team leader told me I asked him specifically about the proper alignment installation, knowing this causes vibrations. He assured me it was installed correctly and wanted to charge me an open-ended investigation fee, sounding very doubtful of results. I went back to the amazing customer service and repair team at Hornsby tires (Jeff is amazing and I can't recommend them highly enough!!!) who fixed tysingers terrible work FOR FREE. Stay away from tysinger, unless you buy here and are getting warranty maintenance. read more

Purchased a 2015 GLK 350 and 2015 C300. Chai worked tirelessly to make this deal happen, as it involved trading in a car I own and an early lease turn in on another. I've also used their service department for over a year without complaint. If anything, their detailer shop can work some incredible magic. Where do I even start with this review. For starters, in the 20 years of purchasing vehicles, this is the worst experience I've ever had...there isn't a close second. I was looking for a used Ford F-150 on TrueCar and came across the perfect F-150 at Tysinger Hyundai that had everything I wanted: 4x4, low mileage, extended cab, etc... I put a request in on TrueCar for Tysinger Hyundai to contact me and they did so within a few hours. The lady was nice on the phone and we scheduled a test drive at the dealership for 1 pm...she even stated they would bring the truck up to the front to make things easier. I arrive at 1 pm and this is where things started turning south. I start looking around the front of the dealership for an F-150 and it was nowhere to be found. I walk into the dealership and I start looking for someone to talk with and it was a ghost town! I finally found someone and asked if they knew the woman I talked with and we start walking around the dealership to try and locate her. After a few minutes, we find her and she then deflects everything over to a salesman by the name of Corey. He could not be located right-away either! While the staff was searching around for the gentleman named Corey, a different salesman comes up to me and solemnly tells me that the truck was sold the day prior. I maintained my composure and gave this dealership the benefit of the doubt. During this time, Corey finally walks up and I introduce myself. From the moment I met him, I felt a strange vibe from him and it was a sense that he didn't give any care for wanting to help me out with looking for a truck. I asked him if he did in fact sell the F-150 the day prior which he confirmed...said he sold it himself I then ask if there is anything else on the lot that was similar and he starts looking on their website. There was another green Ford F-150 that met (somewhat) of what I was looking for. I asked if it was still available and he was unsure (mind you the website still showed it there!). He gets up from his desk and says he'll be back to see if it's still available. He is gone for at least 10 minutes before I decided to get up and walk out of the dealership. I'm pretty convinced that he just simply wanted me to leave. There was never any call back or attempt to contact me once I walked out which signified they wanted nothing to do with me or my business there. Something of note during this whole ordeal: I'm U.S. military and was in uniform. I don't expect special treatment for being a veteran, but the disrespect that was shown to me during this car buying experience was absolutely horrendous. I'm thankful that I was able to find the perfect truck at a different dealership and have a positive car buying experience once again. read more

As soon as I called him about my car in less than an hour he sent me a text and a picture of my car... Sitting pretty and ready for me to test drive. As soon as I got here, he was ready for me and was very patient throughout the entire process. Then enters Bobby Walters the business office manager who was also just as professional and honest as Jesse. He spoke to my bank when they trying to make me anxious and made the rest of the process easy and quick but explained things thoroughly. So all in all I got great service and a great car for a great value! Really!!! And on my birthday!!!! Can't forget the red bow that Jesse put on top of my car and took my picture.....
