I hired Tyrer 3 years ago to rip out carpet and put in hardwoods in the two front rooms of my house. They were recommended by a friend, and their quote was the most economical. I couldn't have been more pleased with the finished product, and they were able to match to my existing hardwoods at about 98% closeness. I was very happy. Fast-forward three years, I had a leak in my kitchen and hired a contractor to do a full kitchen remodel, including refinishing the entire first floor hardwoods. They did a poor job at refinishing the floors. There were cracks in the floors, the stain didn't match at all (despite the exact same stain color and brand), and there was pooling of stain everywhere. I actually texted Tyrer to come and give a second opinion on the bad work of the contractors I hired, which they gladly came to assess the situation. Twice. For 2 separate issues. I just thought all hardwood companies did about the same quality work - I was wrong. Tyrer even consulted for a friend who had similar issues with her floors. I've recommended Tyrer to all my friends, and if I'm not able to settle with my existing contractor, I am absolutely hiring them to redo the poor craftsmanship of the other company. Wouldn't recommend using this company or working for them at all ! Jason and his wife are disrespectful they would cuss me out all the time and they are simply unprofessional and unorganized! Simply job very well done. I had 20-yr old hardwood floors to refinish in one half on our main level and install new matching floors in the other half. Talked to 5-6 contractors and knew I wanted to work with Jason (he wasn't the most expensive, but not the cheapest either). I agree with other reviewers, he didn't overinflate the difficulty or the price. Also made some suggestions that really made a difference in appearance. I relied on a reference from a friend whose friends have all used Jason, and I'm glad I did! My floors look seamless and amazing! We had a couple of scheduling snafus but "team Tyrer" worked it all out. Also had a part of the job that wasn't included in the bid by mistake, but they made me whole. Lastly, communication is everything. You can't put a price on calling your contractor and being able to actually talk to them every time. read more

Jason and his team were fantastic. We had a hell of a time getting anyone to call us back regarding refinishing our kitchen floors, but Jason was all over it. He was out within 24 hrs to check out what we wanted done and gave us an estimate the same day. Integrity and punctuality are tough to come by in the home repair/remodeling scene, it seems, so Jason's promptness were greatly appreciated. He didn't give us any run-around or big talk trying to inflate the difficulty of the job. His team were no less conscientious, returning calls and arriving as promised at every occasion. My wife and I both work basically every day and can't usually take time off without a lot of notice, so we (somewhat reluctantly) left keys for them to work on our floors during the day. In retrospect, I had no need to worry. They are completely trustworthy and treated our house respectfully. That's all well and good, you may say, but personal qualities only get you so far. Well, Jason and company rocked our floors. I mean, the floors and trim look AMAZING. I'm very impressed. Even if they'd been utter douchebags through the process, I'd recommend them heartily. They really do some fantastic work. They even came back and redid some of the trim (for free, mind you) after my wife and I discovered that we suck at measuring and ordered a stove that was slightly too big to fit past what they had installed. Hired them to install floors in our new office. Jason convinced us to go with this glue down floor, he said it was better quality than the vinyl plank we went in thinking we wanted. This company was so incredibly difficult to work with. Everything has been a complete disaster. First, our flooring shipment was "lost" somehow? So the day they were supposed to install no one even told us it wasnt in! We specifically called and asked if we should paint before or after. They said to paint before. We painted all the baseboards, only to have the installers destroy them and we had to clean and re-paint them when they were done! Once they installed the floors they all started popping up, they weren't sticking to the ground!! We called SO MANY TIMES to have them fix the problem and they kept saying we needed to give it time to settle and kept blaming it on us bc the temperature was fluctuating...this has been going on for MONTHS now, and all they have ever done is send the same few guys out that did the install. They do the same thing everytime even though they know it DOESNT FIX IT. And even when the installer was here he said, "this probably won't work." Are you kidding me? We have never got a call back from Jason or Brian like we were told we would. They do not care how crappy of a job their people did once they got their money. Nothing was done like we were told it was going to be. I have never been so disappointed in a company. Now that we've paid them almost $5,000 we are going to have to find someone else to fix the mistakes THEY made! I am at a loss trying to contact them. read more

My carpet experience with Tyrer Wholesale ended up in a nightmare. I asked the owner to help me pick the right carpet for my lifestyle because I have never purchased carpet and there were a thousand to choose from. He showed me carpet that was the complete opposite of what I asked for. This is a major expense and he should be considerate of the buyers needs. I had no idea from looking at a little patch of carpeting how it would look and feel once laid. I have shed tears at how bad the carpet looks. Beware! His customer service skills are zero. Jason and his wife were both very professional. Extremely pleased with bid and finished work! My floors in condo were scratched up from pets, very yellow in color and needed to be refinished and brought to natural color. Their employees worked very hard and quickly completed the project once they started. I would use them again and highly recommend. The only issue I had was when I went back to the condo, the washer was not hooked back up properly & the refrigerator water, ice and lights stopped working. They were very responsive and sent a plumber to correct the washer situation. Fridge is still not working so I will need to have it repaired. I can not blame them for the issue since it is a 4 year old fridge. I would recommend moving your own appliances so they can redo floor. Despite this small glitch- I will definitely use them again and refer to everyone I know. Floors look beautiful!!!! You will have zero issues with delays or people not showing up- they are there early and completed all work in a timely manner!!! Thanks Tyrer for making my floors look brand new! read more
